Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn will face off in a bitter showdown on Saturday night despite a significant family feud. However, he finds it to be painful because of the conflict within his own family.

The 35-year-old was labelled as a “disgrace” for slapping Benn with an egg at an earlier media meeting by his own father Chris Sr, who warned the perilous fight shouldn’t go ahead. Chris, 58, made a name for himself as one of Britain’s most successful boxers, but his life outside the ring has been far more turbulent, particularly when it comes to his fractured relationship with his son.

Outside of boxing, the two-weight world champ is a father to five children – sons Chris Jr., Sebastian, Joseph, and Nathanael, and daughter Emily. He shares four of them with his ex-wife Karron, whom he married in 1990. The pair split in 2005 after 15 years together. His fifth child, Nathanael, is from a previous relationship.

Since retiring from the ring, Eubank has become a familiar face on television. He appeared on the 2015 series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where he lasted 17 days and finished in ninth place. In April 2023, he returned to screens in Channel 4’s experimental reality series Scared of the Dark.

However, Eubank has experienced heartache despite her public appearances. His life changed in July 2021 when his son Sebastian, a professional boxer, passed away suddenly while residing in Dubai. Sebastian had just turned 32 days before his passing that his son Raheem was born.

Never did I ever imagine that I would write these words or feel the way I do now that my son has died, Eubank said in a statement following the devastating loss. Everyone who knew him admired and revered him, and friends and family will always remember him forever. We now ask that we be given space and privacy to remember him, his son, his brother, his husband, and his friend.

He later opened up about his grief during an emotional appearance on Good Morning Britain, saying: “I can’t tell you how proud I am of this man. He was my son and I loved him. Every moment we spent together was my favourite, but there were so, so many moments I missed when we weren’t together.”

Sebastian’s older brother, Chris Eubank Jr., 35, also paid tribute to him on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “My brother Sebastian Eubank was a special man… a righteous man… who always put others before himself. A man of many talents—boxing, MMA, poetry, music, coaching, cooking—the list goes on. But the most important thing to him was helping others less fortunate than himself.”

The loss of his father, who followed his father’s path to becoming a boxer, has recently experienced the pain of loss. Their once-close relationship has deteriorated over time, particularly after Eubank Jr. removed his father from his entourage prior to a fight with Conor Benn.

Chris Eubank Jr. has revealed that he and his father are at odds with their relationship.

Eubank Sr. explained to The Times how he is protective of his last son because of the trauma of Sebastian’s passing. He remarked, “We have to be strict.” Without it, lives would be in danger, and neither would my son’s. One has already been lost by me. It is unavoidable.

Chris Eubank Jr., who reflected on the heartbreaking loss of his younger brother, declared, “I have a brother who is buried in the desert in Dubai. That pain is. When his three-year-old son asks, “Why can’t I see my father?,” I have him. Why won’t he send me to the library? That causes pain.

Hi attributes the tragedy to his father’s disappearance, which added strain on the family, to. He said in an interview in October that he had been showing no interest in my career for a while. He hasn’t shown me any interest in a while.

I believe that for my father to be acting in such an insane way that it almost doesn’t feel like speaking to your other children is insane. What do you know? I tried to act like it was cool for a while.

“How’s your dad, my friend,” I would be asked. ‘ Yeah, we’re good. ‘ But that s***, man, got to me. It’s b******. People need to know that we are not cool or that we are not okay.

After Eubank Jr. slapped Conor Benn with an egg during a press conference, which led to Eubank Jr. publicly calling his son a “disgrace,” the relationship between the father and son grew even more strained. Chris Jr. expressed resentment about the rift, saying, “My own father, a man I’ve idolized my entire life, doesn’t speak to me. We haven’t spoken in a long time. What pain means to me is these things.

Unfortunately, Eubank’s life was shaped by this tragedy more than once. A final-round uppercut in a fight with Michael Watson in 1991 caused him to be completely unconscious and partially paralyzed following his final-round uppercut. Since then, Eubank has declared it to be his only regret of the year.
