Chloe Madeley has revealed that she and rugby player James Haskell divorced and that there are strict guidelines she must follow to avoid “blowout rows” while raising their daughter.
Chloe Madeley has opened up about her “volatile” divorce from James Haskell. This comes two years after the pair, who share a three year old daughter, separated.
Chloe, 38, and James, 40, split in 2023 and while she has said that their lives as the co-parents of Bodhi have “fallen into place”, the divorce process wasn’t easy.
She said, “The divorce process has been incredibly emotional and volatile.” “It’s fine now,” she said. “We have weeks where everything works out really well and we get along.” Then we go on to go over something for weeks, or a person becomes angry or frustrated, and finally we don’t speak.

She claimed to have “a hard policy” now and that her main motivation for “divorced” was to avoid “big blowout rows.” Chloe described the uncertainty of their relationship and said she would “drop off the radar” only to see James at the gym, and their relationship would then “back on track.”
Chloe, who is the daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, admitted that when she received the letter finalising her divorce, it was still like an “undiluted slap in the face”.
She said it made her feel like she had “failed” and that it was “weird” to feel that way because she hadn’t been expecting it. She added that it will take “a time of grieving” before she can look at her divorce as a fresh start.
Before they split in October 2023, Chloe and James had been together for 11 years and had been married for five. On December 30th, their divorce was finalized only a few days prior.
One’s mother vehemently declared to The Sun that she “never wants] to be in a relationship with him again.” She emphasized that it “became incredibly dark, sad, and painful” and that she wasn’t even sure if she wanted to be in any relationship once more.
Chloe claimed that she went through a severe depression that required medication after her separation. But she finally found her true love after two years.
She then noted that James will have his own interpretation of events and that there are two sides to each story. Chloe praised James as a great father and how their relationship as co-parents improved despite their differences following their divorce.
