A friend claims that Gene Hackman’s wife Betsy Arakawa kept her husband affixed to their Santa Fe home because she was so determined to protect him.

Since their deaths, Gene Hackman and his wife have been the subject of new theories.

Hollywood legend Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife Betsy Arakawa’s tragic deaths have a new theory emerged. On February 26, the late couple’s Santa Fe home was discovered dead. A close friend has provided a different perspective on their passing despite the discovery of the causes of their deaths: Arakawa, 65, succumbing to a rare disease known as Hantavirus and Hackman, 65, who has advanced dementia and severe heart disease.

After the couple’s home was discovered partially mummified and surrounded by pills, mystery initially surrounded Betsy and Gene’s death. However, their deaths were later forewarned by the Sheriff’s Office for any foul play or external trauma. Since then, Tom Allin, 75, Hackman’s business partner and long-time friend, has remarked, “I don’t think she allowed anybody in the house, especially in the last six months. But she was a baby. She would struggle to lift him if he fell.

Despite their substantial $80 million fortune, which could have easily paid for round-the-clock live-in care, Allin further suggested that Betsy kept her ailing husband afloat by her fervent support for him. She promised to do everything to keep him safe until he passed away, he said. However, she didn’t anticipate passing away first, making the speculative claim that Betsy’s solemn desire for privacy would never materialize. He continued, adding that the former classical pianist had made a fatal error by attempting to do everything herself.

Allin’s harrowing theory, which he discussed with the New York Times, is that Betsy’s insistence on protecting her husband may have unintentionally led to his demise because he had no chance of living after his death. Sheriff of Santa Fe Adan Mendoza confirmed last week that Hackman may have been alive for up to seven days after Arakawa’s passing, and that he may have been so perplexed that he did not realize she was dead.

After her mummified remains were discovered on the bathroom floor, surrounded by pills and a space heater, Arakawa’s death was confirmed on February 11. On February 18, it was discovered that Hackman’s pacemaker had stopped. His wife’s death came just one week after his wife’s death, suggesting that he hadn’t eaten at all. Allin’s theory is supported by another friend, who added that the former classical pianist was “adamant about handling everything herself,” which may have had disastrous effects.

According to Allin’s chilling theory, Betsy’s valiant efforts to protect her husband may have unintentionally contributed to his demise as he was left helpless after her untimely passing. Last week, Santa Fe sheriff Adan Mendoza revealed egregious details, claiming Hackman might have survived up to a week after Arakawa’s passing, possibly in such a state of confusion that he did not realize his wife had passed away.

After her mummified body was found in a bathroom with pills and a nearby space heater, Arakawa’s demise was discovered on February 11. On the other hand, Hackman’s pacemaker stopped working on February 18 after being discovered in the mudroom, according to records. He may not have eaten since his spouse’s death, according to his indigestion from an empty stomach.

Another friend’s suggestion confirmed the state of neglect within their expansive Santa Fe property, calling it “a mess,” in contrast to an earlier theory by friend Allin. They expressed shock over the state: “The house’s interior was shocking. There was dog poop on the floor because they didn’t have a housekeeper or maid, so it had beautiful things like furniture and paintings.

They went on to explain the extent of the suffering, saying that “some of the poop had been there for a while and had been covered in newspaper.” The house’s interior was unreliable. Nothing had been cleaned of. Nothing was in the refrigerator. The presence of Hantavirus, which is transmitted by rodents like rats and mice and can be contracted by interactions with their urine, droppings, and saliva, may be a result of these revelations about faeces inside the house.
