More than 50 Palestinians have been killed, including aid seekers, as a result of the Israeli military’s relentless assault on Gaza City, which is the largest urban center in the region, which is home to some 1 million people.
As a result of Israeli strikes on densely populated areas, particularly the al-Sabra neighborhood, which has been under intense attack for days, at least 105 Palestinians were killed across Gaza on Tuesday. During a humanitarian effort, at least 32 people died.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is entering a “decisive stage” of the war as it prepares to seize Gaza City despite international condemnation.
“Palestinians are currently trying to survive as many air strikes as possible in a cage in Gaza City.” The air strikes follow them wherever they go, according to Hind Khoudary of Al Jazeera.
She reported from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, reporting that “they are also dying from the food and aid blockade.”
At least 13 people have died of starvation in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of hunger-related deaths to 361 since the war started. Palestinians are struggling to withstand the dual threats of targeted attacks and starvation. Since a global hunger monitor’s assessment of famine conditions in Gaza on August 22 and 83 of those deaths have been reported,
At least 21 people were killed on Tuesday when an Israeli drone struck them while queuing for water in the southern Gazan al-Mawasi region near Khan Younis, including seven children.
Palestinian Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal posted images online of children’s bodies and blood-stained water containers at the attack site, which Israel had previously designated a so-called “safe zone.”
When the occupation forces directly targeted them, turning their search for life into a new massacre, they were standing in line for water, according to Basal on Tuesday.
According to Gaza City officials, an Israeli attack on the al-Af family home in Gaza City resulted in the deaths of ten people, mostly women and children.
The government media office in Gaza claimed in a statement that the crimes “demonstrate the criminal fascist nature of the enemy.” It urged the UN Security Council to put an end to the “brutal genocide” and called Israel’s actions “war crimes against international law.”
In the most recent attacks, Rasmi Salem of al-Manara and Eman al-Zamli killed two more journalists, bringing the total number of journalists killed since October 7 to over 270. According to press watchdogs, the conflict in Gaza has become the deadliest for media workers ever.
Gaza City is the site of Israel’s ground invasion.
As efforts to end the war appeared to be stalling, thousands of Israeli reservists made their reports on Tuesday.
According to Majed al-Ansari, a spokesman for Qatar’s foreign ministry, Hamas accepted a ceasefire request but had not yet responded.
He continued, noting that negotiations with the United States and the mediators had broken down. Israel’s occupation of Gaza “poses a threat to everyone,” he warned, including Israeli captives.
However, Israel has recently increased its hold on Gaza City, putting even sporadic humanitarian aid on hold.
Eyal Zamir, the chief of staff of the Israeli Army, confirmed that ground operations were advancing. As tens of thousands of soldiers were called up, he declared, “We are going to deepen our operation.” According to Israeli media reports, 365 soldiers have declined to report for duty.
In a video statement released on Tuesday, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated in a statement that “we are working to defeat Hamas” and that the International Criminal Court is looking into “war crimes and crimes against humanity.”
Days after Israel killed Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi along with top officials in Sanaa, Yemen’s Houthi movement claimed its forces launched four drones at Israel’s General Staff headquarters close to Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion Airport, a power station, and the port of Ashdod.
The group claimed that its drones “successfully hit their targets.” A cargo ship in the Red Sea was also struck by a missile and drone attack because it had broken Israeli law.
Palestine’s “indifference” is a global phenomenon.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry praised Belgium’s decision to grant the State of Palestine’s recognition on Tuesday and demanded that other countries do the same, saying it was “in line with international law and UN resolutions” and necessary to stop “genocide, displacement, starvation, and annexation.”
The ministry also criticized Israel’s seizure of Palestinian tax revenues and the world’s “alarming” indifference to Gaza’s economic collapse in a separate statement. It called for urgent financial assistance to “improve the resilience of citizens and their unwavering commitment to their homeland’s soil.”
