Why, almost ten years after their split, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini’s ex-husband and Cheryl’s ex-wife shared a photo?
Cheryl’s ex-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini has shared a bizarre photo of them together almost a decade after their split. The French restauranteur, 44, was married to the 41-year-old Girls Aloud singer for two years from 2014 to 2016.
Though they split nine years ago, Jean-Bernard – who Cheryl used to affectionately call JB – took to his Instagram stories to share a photo with his former wife. In the snap, a dapper-looking JB is wearing dark jeans and a navy bomber jacket as he holds hands with a smiling Cheryl, who is dressed in a lemon yellow dress and black open-toe shoe boots.
As JB asked his 46, 000 followers, “Where is this jacket?” it turns out it’s his ex-wife who is missing.
When they first met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, the Frenchman appeared to have no idea who Cheryl was. They tied the knot in a secret ceremony on the Caribbean island of Mustique in July of that year after a three-month romance.
Only four guests, including Cheryl’s dearly beloved mother Joan and her close friend Lily England, were reportedly present at the wedding.

At the time Cheryl posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news… Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14.” The Fight For This Love singer added: “We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together.”
But just a year later rumours began circulating the couple were going through a rocky patch after JB failed to attend the filming for The X Factor, which Cheryl was a judge on back then.
After missing together for a number of weeks, Cheryl and JB made a rare appearance together for Ant and Dec’s 40th birthday bash in October 2015. JB reportedly spent most of his time in America after leaving the London home he shared with Cheryl.
The pair split up after being informed that they were going to divorce in January 2016, with Cheryl citing “irreconcilable differences” as the justification.
She later went on to find love with the late One Direction star Liam Payne, who she shares eight-year-old son Bear with. In 2018 Cheryl said that Liam – who she split from that year – was the only partner that has ever been faithful to her. Liam tragically died at the age of 31 in October last year after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
Cheryl was married to football player Ashley Cole from 2006 to 2010 before becoming a parent. Cheryl cites Ashley’s “unreasonable behavior” as the cause of their divorce in the divorce papers. Throughout their four-year marriage, the now 44-year-old admitted being unfaithful to Cheryl and a number of other women.
JB riled up over this statement about infidelity, which prompted him to speak out in November 2018 to refute any claims that he had cheated on the pop singer. According to reports, a JB’s friend claimed that he has kept their marriage “sacred to me” and has never cheated.
The friend claimed that she “needs to blame somebody” for Cheryl’s problems, but that she had already had enough of being held accountable for her problems. According to The Sun, JB warned Cheryl that if we started lying, she would have a problem.
