Bayern Munich is required to pay £56.2 million for Nicolas Jackson if he makes a certain number of appearances, with the Chelsea striker having signed on loan.

Bayern will pay an initial £14.3 million to take the 24-year-old on loan until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Jackson’s contract with Bayern was in doubt after Chelsea instructed him to return after Liam Delap was injured in Saturday’s Premier League win over Fulham, and personal terms are already in place for a future five-year, permanent deal.

The Villarreal forward from Senegal made 30 goals in 81 games before moving to Chelsea for a 32-million deal in 2023.

Jackson expressed his delight at being a member of this outstanding club. “Bayern is one of the world’s best clubs.

Everyone is aware of the names of the legendary players who have played here, and they are aware that this club represents the greatest success.

Prior to his red card at St James’ Park in April, Jackson had been an automatic starter for Chelsea and was battling for a spot in the Champions League without a striker.

In the 3-1 group-stage defeat by Flamengo in the Club World Cup, Fifa’s expanded competition, which Chelsea ultimately won, he was then immediately dismissed just four minutes after starting as a substitute. Delap and Pedro made their debuts during the tournament to take his place.

Jackson ultimately lost the trust of manager Enzo Maresca and some members of the Stamford Bridge hierarchy, according to multiple sources who were aware of the situation, leading to his desire to leave.

Maresca earlier in April claimed the frontman was his “perfect number nine” and preferred to have him play “a copy of Nico” rather than take his place.
