Chelsea are in talks with Ajax about a move for center-back Jorrel Hato, and they are also interested in RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons.
Hato, age 19, has made 31 appearances for the Eredivisie and has come out as one of Europe’s most promising young defenders.
According to BBC Sport, Chelsea are in direct contact with Hato’s camp and Ajax to discuss a summer move. No agreement has yet been reached, so discussions are reportedly still in the early stages.
Chelsea and Simons are negotiating personal terms in the interim.
The 22-year-old Dutch international, who is reportedly interested in moving to Stamford Bridge as a result of the Blues’ desire to develop their attacking and creative flair, is open to moving there.
Chelsea’s strategy is known to RB Leipzig, but there hasn’t yet been a consensus.
Bayern Munich and Arsenal are also interested in signing Simons, who left Paris St-Germain in January and completed two loan deals lasting a full year and a half.
Bayern may be interested in Simons, but they are putting a move for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz first.
Any manager would like him to play for his team, he said.

Aad de Mos, a former Ajax and PSV coach, claimed there was “too much hype” surrounding Simons prior to Euro 2024.
Former Netherlands winger Zenden says, “Sometimes, I think he is too eager.” “Eager to succeed, not to be selfish.
He poses a threat, he says. He has the right attitude, the skills, the engine, the willingness to work hard, and never complains. He should be a part of his team, if there is a manager.
Simons’ superb strike gave the Netherlands a 1-0 lead before the Three Lions rallied to win 2-1 in the semi-finals of the tournament against England.
Virgil van Dijk, the Netherlands captain, says, “He is a very talented player who has so much to give.”
I’m not worried that won’t happen because he has a good mindset and is still far beyond his current level. I have faith in him.
Simons, who signed for PSG to Leipzig permanently in January, added eight assists and 11 goals to his 33 games overall in all competitions.
