Chelsea face Man City on opening WSL weekend

Chelsea will host Manchester City on the opening weekend of the new Women’s Super League season, when Sonia Bompastor’s team will begin their quest for a seventh consecutive title.

London City Lionesses, a promoted side, will face Champions League winners Arsenal on Saturday, September 6th, at 13:30 BST, with the match being broadcast live on the BBC.

Arsenal will host all 11 of their WSL home games at Emirates Stadium for the first time this season.

Chelsea’s first season under French manager Bompastor was unprecedented as they won 22 games without losing in 2024 to 2024.

Former Denmark boss Andree Jeglertz is now in charge of Manchester City, who finished fourth last year.

On the first weekend of the new year, Liverpool host Everton in a Merseyside derby.
