Charlotte Crosby sells house and employs ‘intense security’ after terrifying home raid

When masked criminals broke into her home, celebrity Big Brother star Charlotte Crosby revealed the ‘cheap’ precautions she’s taking to protect herself now that she was eight months pregnant.
Charlotte Crosby has explained the dramatic extent she’s had to go to in order to keep herself and her family safe. The Celebrity Big Brother winner experienced a terrifying break-in last year, and never wants to go through the trauma again.
Last November, Charlotte, 34, was eight months pregnant when a gang of criminals broke into her £1.4 million Sunderland home while she, her partner Jake Ankers, and their daughter Alba – who’d just turned two – were there.
The Geordie Shore star said she’d learnt some grim lessons from the break-in, saying that she would no longer take fans inside her house on social media.
After selling the property, Charlotte even claimed that she and Jake were looking for a new home and had significantly increased their security.
“I won’t share my house anywhere online again. We have very intense security now and it’s very expensive. It’s everything you can imagine for very close protection we have – but no bodyguard!” she told The Sun.
After the incident, Jake explained in more detail what had gone down. “I can’t believe I’m saying this but some little c***s have tried to rob my house with my two-year-old and my partner who is nearly eight months pregnant, armed with a machete,” he shared on Instagram at the time.
He said he chased the four robbers out of the house but wasn’t able to catch them. Jake added: “One of them who was in the house at the top of the stairs had a red balaclava on. He is the one that had the machete.
The house has my little girl inside. My partner is inside the house, he said, “and he urged his followers to come forward if they had any tips on the crime.”
A statement from the police, which read “We were called shortly before 7pm on Thursday (November 21),” reads: “Police were called to reports of a burglary at an address in Houghton-le-Spring. The suspects left the area before officers arrived, despite the officers’ efforts. No injuries or items are thought to have been taken in the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to call West CID on 101, quoting incident number 365 of November 21, and an investigation is now being conducted.
MTV star Charlotte reported that despite receiving a call from the police, she hasn’t received any additional information from them after the burglary attempt.
“I’ve experienced this twice, maybe two years ago, but I never really received any updates either.” I was away on vacation at the time, she said, adding to her statement.
Charlotte also referred to her housing situation, stating that “they only have been renting a room at an AirBnB” for four weeks and that they are even “happy” to go to an AirBnB if they can’t find a new home before handing the keys over.
