At the 2025 MOBO Awards, Central Cee became the most decorated rapper in history, taking home seven awards, along with Stormzy.
The 26-year-old Londoner, real name Oakley Caesar-Su, bagged the best male award for the second consecutive year at Tuesday’s ceremony in Newcastle.
He released his debut album Can’t Rush Greatness in January 2025, which included hits like Sprinter featuring Dave and solo single Doja. Ayra Starr also won the title of best African music act for the first time in 16 years, and the first African woman to do so internationally.
For Favourite Girl featuring Dess Dior, British-Nigerian artist Darkoo won best female act and song of the year. German-born Odeal won best newcomer and best R&, B or soul act, while actor and rapper Bashy, 40, scooped best album for Being Poor Is Expensive and best hip hop act.

Jacob Anderson won best performance in a TV show or movie for his role as Louis in Interview With The Vampire, and Mnelia’s My Man, which Femi Bello directed, won video of the year. The Dame Denise Lewis, who won the paving the way award, honors those who have inspired future generations through sport, entertainment, and culture.
Ezra Collective, Mercury Prize winners in 2023, were named best jazz act. Scorcher won the title of best grime act, while Pozer won the title of best drill act. Annatoria won the award for best gospel act, while TSHA won for best electronic dance music act.
The best alternative act was won by ALT BLK ERA, who had the best performance in the Caribbean music category. The 90s Baby Show, a comedy podcast about the thoughts of a 90s baby, won the award for best media personality, and Juls, the best producer, took home the title.
Vybz Kartel, the Jamaican dancehall deejay, was honoured with the Impact Award, which is given to an artist who has been a pioneer in their genre. Nova Twins, British hip-hop duo Krept and Konan, and award winners Odeal, Darkoo, and Bashy gave performances at the ceremony.
Vybz Kartel and Spice closed the show with a masterful performance of Fever and So Mi Like It, along with MOBO founder Kanya King giving a powerful speech during her battle with cancer.
