Martin O’Neill, Celtic’s manager, claims the team will “go out” to sign players in January.
O’Neill is completing his third season with Celtic Park after being hired for the second time this year.
Following six defeats in eight games in charge, Wilfried Nancy was fired on Monday, prompting his confirmation until the end of the season.
O’Neill told TalkSport, “I believe we would need to add some value to the squad.”

O’Neill, 73, claims that the club has not asked him to win the Scottish Premiership.
Before Nancy’s arrival in December, he won seven out of eight matches in charge.
Celtic and Rangers are six points clear of league leaders Hearts when O’Neill’s side take on Dundee United on Saturday.

The Northern Irishman, who served as Celtic’s first manager from 2000 to 2005, explained that his most recent appearance was in “very similar circumstances again.”
“Obviously, the football club’s recent results haven’t been great, but even so, he said, it was still a bit of a shock.”

O’Neill, who will once more be assisted by Shaun Maloney and Stephen McManus, insists that he “does not know what went wrong under Nancy” and “does not like to think about a lengthy tenure as Celtic manager.”
He said, “I can’t see that for a start.” I am genuinely unable to. I’m not sure if I would have the energy or anything else of that.
