According to BBC Scotland, Wilfried Nancy is close to becoming Celtic manager.

The French head coach of the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer is in talks with the Scottish champions.

Since Brendan Rodgers left last month, Celtic have been looking for a new manager. The past five games have been managed by their former manager Martin O’Neill, who is assisted by Shaun Maloney.

O’Neill has won four of his club’s domestic matches since returning, but Midtjylland lost in the Europa League.

Celtic travel to Feyenoord on Thursday for their fifth Europa League game, picking up four points so far. They will defend the Premier Sports Cup in the final game against St Mirren, who lost to O’Neill’s side on Saturday 1-0 at home.

In the midst of unrest between the club and its supporters, if Nancy is chosen, he will begin working for Celtic.

Last week, shareholders criticized Ross Desmond, the son of major shareholder Dermot, and chanted “sack the board” at the annual meeting of Celtic.

Wilfried Nancy, who is she?

Nancy began coaching in Canada after spending time in his home country, including Toulon.

Nancy took over at CF Montreal after Thierry Henry resigned as the team’s head coach in 2021, leading them to the Canadian Championship that year.

In 2022, Nancy led the Ohio side to the MLS Cup in 2023 and the Leagues Cup, a competition between Mexican and American teams, last year, and he was also named MLS coach of the year.

However, they placed seventh overall and 12th overall this year.
