Celebrity Traitors star Ruth Codd stayed true to her trademark dark humour as she gave her fans a health update after having her left leg amputated below the knee

Celebrity Traitors star Ruth Codd has opened up about her health with fans after having her second leg amputated – after previously having her right leg amputated below the knee.

The 29 year old shared her latest health setback on her social media while staying true to her trademark dark humour. She shared a selfie holding her middle finger up to the camera along with the caption: “After a brief hiatus, world domination and winding up middle aged white men shall resume as of 10am. New legs loading.”

It comes after she announced on TikTok she had undergone the surgery last month where she updated her followers from a wheelchair, which she nicknamed ‘Fat Tony’.

She said: “Hi guys, so I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that we’ve had a full circle moment and I’m back making TikTok content in my parents’ house. The bad news is that I can’t do it in front of that lovely, floral blue wallpaper anymore due to the fact that that room is upstairs and I’ve just had my second below knee amputation.”

She continued: “So unfortunately, those facilities are not available to me at the current moment in time.”

The surgery comes after Ruth injured her foot and suffered severe nerve damage while playing football when she was a teenager which left her with mobility issues as well as chronic pain. She had her right leg amputated below the knee when she was 23 and previously opened up on the experience with Teen Vogue.

She told the publication: “At that age, you think you’re unstoppable, and it was a lot of having to learn a bit too young that sometimes life doesn’t really work out the way you thought it would. But I wouldn’t change it. It made me a really resilient person. I’m thankful for just being able to do simple things like walk around or go on a bike or ride my horse. It kind of teaches you to not take things for granted.”

Ruth recently appeared on the Under Your Skin podcast with Grace Neutral where she opened up more on why she had her first surgery.

The singer explained that she was on ‘crutches for eight years’ and her joints became damaged because she always walked on her ‘tippy-toes’.

She said: “I’ve already had to have all my toes amputated, and so I have no toes and so my foot looks like a little hamburger. So with the second one, it’s just the same situation. It was just my quality of life and it’s never going to get any better from this point so they can only really stop it from getting worse.

“The amount of health problems and stuff I’ve had this past year – I haven’t let it stop me from doing anything but I feel like it has hindered me and made my ability to do my job more difficult. I’ve been through it once before, so I think with two prosthetics I’ll be pretty unstoppable.”
