Ruth Codd is best known for her acting prowess, but she also won numerous fans with her appearance on the first Celebrity Traitors series.

Ruth Codd, the star of The Celebrity Traitors, has explained why she needed to have her second leg amputated. Six years ago, the 29-year-old’s first leg was amputated as a result of a failed football injury. This resulted in her “joints were destroyed” as a result of years of suffering from pain.

Ruth reported on Wednesday that she now had her second leg removed below the knee. She is currently recovering and shared a post on TikTok while using a wheelchair. The actress explained that she had already had all of her toes removed, so she made the decision to have her other leg amputated.

After having all of her toes removed in 2021, Ruth had already discussed the reasons behind the second amputation in an interview two weeks prior. She claimed it was to improve her “quality of life.” The actress from Midnight Club claimed that doctors had advised her that she had had to work harder because her foot was unlikely to ever improve.

She continued, “I was on crutches for eight years, and the way I used them, I was always kind of on my tippy toes, so the joints in my feet were destroyed by the end of the eight years.”

It’s kind of the same thing, and it’s kind of past the point where they can sort of do something about it. My toes have already been amputated completely. My foot looks like a little hamburger because I have no toes.

She continued, “With the second one, it’s just my quality of life, it’s never going to improve, it’s just going to kind of stop it from getting worse, and I’ve had a lot of health issues and stuff in the last year.”

“I can’t let it prevent me from doing anything,” she said. but I believe it has hampered my ability to perform my job. And since I’ve already experienced it before, I believe I’ll be fairly unstoppable with two prosthetics.

Ruth described how going through the recovery process entails at least a month of waiting for the limb to heal before using a prosthetic.

Ruth was a star in the first series of Celebrity Traitors a few weeks ago, and she excelled at identifying those who weren’t believers. However, when she became the third contestant to leave the show after just four episodes, her time there was shortened.

She left the programme after the Traitors chose to “murder” her when she correctly guessed Jonathan Ross as being one of them. The ITV star was unmasked as a Traitor much later in the series, after Ruth had gone.

It was ultimately a Traitors’ win for the first series thanks to Cat Burns’ assistance, which lasted until the final episode.
