A familiar face appeared on TikTok’s For You pages, leaving users scrolling through it today. The Story of Tracy Beaker, a role played by Daniel Harmer in the CBBC series, delighted viewers by releasing her first ever video online.
The 36-year-old actress said, “Hello!, after a cup of coffee, with her hair swept back in a ponytail. I’m here. I’m about to start my first TikTok, right? I therefore anticipated that I would begin as I intended. No expectations, just a cup of coffee. Really just wanted to say hello. How are you all doing?”
Dani played the iconic role from 2002 until 2006, having already received over 9, 000 likes just hours after signing up for the app. The actress, who is from Bracknell, Berkshire, also appeared on The Dumping Ground and Tracy Beaker Returns, which premiered in 2018 and ran its 13th season in 2025.
Tracy Beaker, who currently resides in a children’s home known as the Dumping Ground, played the lead role in Dani’s now-mum-of-two role, but she also has dreams of starting a family and eventually having a home. Based on the children’s book series Jacqueline Wilson, the fiery character frequently encounters trouble.
Fans of the actress over at TikTok thought she still resembled the beloved TV character, which is still a big hit.
Is this the Tracy Beaker, or what? a gobsmacked fan, asked. On my Monday morning TikTok scroll, “Tracy flippin Beaker”? Another person praised “I love life”.
This is exactly what we all needed, a fourth fan wrote. Unknown incident in British TikTok, and Tony Chocolonely’s official Twitter account wrote, “Love to see it – legend.”
She looked so similar to others’ eyes. You literally resemble Tracey, a queen, and an icon, according to one person, and another wrote, “I honestly believed you were being Tracey Beaker.” Another person asked, “HOW do you look exactly the same as you did 20 years ago?”
When asked about being Tracy Beaker, Dani responded, “Oh, it’s a gift for sure! And I proudly wear it as a badge. One of the reasons I’ll always ask to go back is because of it.
When I turn around and look around, I still believe, “Gosh, this all started when I was 12.” I wouldn’t have believed them if someone had told me then about the show’s legacy.
Dani claims that the CBBC series hasn’t given her a “normal” childhood. I’m incredibly boring, she said. The whole drug-and-alcohol phenomenon never occurred to me. I really don’t watch television or read any news.
Being a child actor is extremely difficult, and I completely understand why people get out of control. When you stop working, everything you want is suddenly gone because you are in the limelight.
