‘A man’s body’ – Draper returns to US Open transformed

If opponents had assumed Jack Draper to be a “UFC fighter” earlier this year, they might now believe the beefed-up Briton resembles a WWE wrestler.

In a recent training session, world number five Draper returned to the gym to work on the issues that had hindered his early years as a professional.

Questions remained about Draper’s viability even after he reached the US Open semi-finals last year.

The Englishman, 23, is now feeling stronger and more physically ripped after a 12-month break from his breakout Grand Slam run.

In his first-round match against Argentina’s Federico Agustin Gomez on Monday, Draper said, “I have worked incredibly hard to improve my physicality on the court.”

“I believe a lot of it comes from my genetics and my developing into a man’s body.” That took me a while, I believe.

At the French Open in June, Draper’s fourth-round opponent Alexander Bublik dubbed his physique “insane” and said it was the one who made the comparison.

The fans were aware as well when Draper revealed his bulging biceps in a sleeveless shirt at last week’s US Open mixed doubles.

Draper, who measures 6’4″ and weighs 90 kg, believes his imposing frame is required to excel in the masculine game.

The hard work put forth by Andy Murray’s team’s core pillars before joining Draper earlier this year has helped to accelerate the metamorphosis.

“I’ve started to really enjoy getting better at the]gym] aspect,” Draper said.

“Before, I didn’t really want to push myself.” I almost didn’t want to feel strong.

No stone unturned as Draper searches for Sinner & Alcaraz.

Since his shock, unexpected early exit at Wimbledon in July, Draper hasn’t made a competitive appearance since.

However, he has now had the opportunity to continue improving his base fitness while working out in London.

A full-body workout gizmo known as “one of the most effective and efficient ways of burning fat and calories” has been conducted during high-intensity sessions on a vertical cardio climber.

Little is the driving force behind the concept, despite Murray’s extensive time spent on the machine and his reputation as one of the best athletes on the ATP Tour during his heyday.

Draper told BBC Sport, “I’ve been making no mistakes.”

I’ve been working out a lot with leg strength, cardio, and a lot of reverse.

In the end, I’m doing the work of making sure that my body is constantly shocked and working as hard as possible to achieve the best results.

Draper was perceived as light and susceptible to giving up matches due to physical issues in his early years on the ATP Tour.

It was not viewed as a major issue, despite the fact that he had to retire in his fourth-round encounter with Carlos Alcaraz from Spain.

His pre-season work had been hampered by a hip injury, which meant he had merely gotten back on track.

In the months that followed, Draper excelled in both the clay and grass swings, winning the biggest title of his career at Indian Wells.

A reality check was provided by the surprise second-round defeat by Croat veteran Marin Cilic at Wimbledon, which also served as the catalyst for a break from the tour.

Draper halted his ATP 1, 000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati because his arm injury was still bothering him.

However, he was able to watch his favorite band Oasis at Wembley thanks to staying home and the bruised humerus, which did not prevent him from training.

After arriving in New York over a week ago, he is now trying to stop Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz from robbing the big time for the second time in a row.

Fifth seed Draper said, “I don’t want to feel like we’re letting them do it.”

She thanked everyone who showed an interest in her story, saying, “She really feels lighter now,” Martin said. “I want to thank all the people who have contributed to my stories.”

Fiona beaming at the camera as Martin explained his choice: “I attach my favorite photo of her from a TV location shoot and it shows what a force of life and vitality she had.”

He added that when the two of them listen to The Police together, they frequently sat together to look through their photo albums. In a conversation with the Loose Women earlier this month, Martin shared an emotional update on Fiona’s condition.

The good news is that her mood has improved, according to Martin. Not so much in terms of Alzheimer’s disease as having better appetite and sleep.

After receiving her new anti-depressant, Martin continued to claim that her wife has “less confusion.”

She’s in a much better place now than she was a few weeks ago, he continued. He did point out that his wife gets frustrated while watching TV, and that she is now unable to do the on-screen acting she has always loved.

He claimed that Fiona’s frustration is her current main issue with her Alzheimer’s. She’ll watch TV and become irritated that she’s not working.

She’ll become enthralled or afraid after thinking about it. A fearless woman was this. She accomplished this for decades. He said it’s terrible to see her in that anxious state right now. As such, Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease.

She’s still very much with us and sharp as a tack, Martin added, adding to a happier note. Fiona was described as the “nicest person I’ve ever met” by Martin when he met her while working at GMTV in the 1990s, and she continues to do so today.

Mackenzie and Nathaniel, both sons of Fiona’s and Martin’s sons, are doing great, according to Martin.

McKibbin and Hatton help Legion XIII win LIV title

After helping Legion XIII win the team championship in Michigan, Tom McKibbin claims that his first year with LIV Golf was “incredible.”

Both the 22-year-old Northern Irishman and team captain Jon Rahm both recorded 65 rounds, with England’s Tyrrell Hatton shooting 66 to make it 20 under for the play-off with Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers.

At St John’s, Rahm and Hatton birdied DeChambeau and Paul Casey, who won the LIV individual title last week, to bring their team home.

McKibbin, who switched to LIV this year, praised the team’s victory and praised the Saudi-backed tour’s “incredible year.”

McKibbin described his team-mates as “incredibly lucky to have spent it with these three guys.”

“I’ve learned a lot, and being around them has been really good. Today was a really cool day to go out there, and the entire year has been special.

I’ve learned a lot from Rahm and Hatton, they say.

McKibbin initially claimed a tour card in November, but he later confirmed he would switch to LIV to compete with Rahm’s Legion XIII team.

He claims that having contributed to five team victories and winning the overall championship as a result of playing alongside the former world number one and Hatton has improved him.

“I’m very happy to be a part of this team and to have learned from two phenomenal players,” McCibbin said.

Just watching the play-off, seeing those shots coming in, and how fast those guys are in those circumstances. Both of them taught me a lot, and as a result, I’ve improved as a player.

I’ve learned a lot from being paired with some players in the tournament that you’ve watched on television.

Hatton, England’s captain, birdied 17 and 18 on Sunday, putting some challenging circumstances behind him, which brought the tie-off to a play-off.

After Rahm had also birdied, he was able to tap-in with a chip in the second play-off hole, which sealed the victory.

It wasn’t ideal for me to make a good finish when I made bogey on 16, so I made my best effort to hole the one on 17 (my longest of the day), and then the pressure putt on 18 and the first play-off hole, according to Hatton.

Scots not treated ‘respectfully’ in contract row

Images courtesy of Getty

Former England captain Katy Daley-McLean claims that Scotland have not treated their women’s rugby world team players “respectfully” with their ongoing contract problems.

As a result of the announcement that coach Bryan Easson will step down as coach at the end of the tournament, a dispute between the playing squad and Scottish Rugby emerged in public.

However, they produced a strong performance on Saturday in Salford to defeat Wales 38-8 in their World Cup opener to increase their chances of making it to the knockout stages.

According to Daley-McLean, “Players are more powerful now, and the power Scotland have is that they have everyone’s interest at heart.”

“People complain that Scottish Rugby should treat the women’s game with respect, but I’d argue that they don’t currently.”

In June, Scotland Rugby’s CEO, Alex Williamson, announced that the contract problems would be resolved before the competition.

However, Rhona Lloyd, a wing from Scotland, claimed that the deal that was reached had resulted in “more than half” of the 32-player squad leaving without contracts after the tournament.

With BBC rugby union reporter Sara Orchard calling it “something that will follow them around and an unattractive distraction,” Captain Rachel Malcolm described the situation as being “very disruptive.”

The Scotland players take on Fiji in their second pool game on Saturday, with Daley-McLean, who won the 2014 tournament with England.

She continued, “No players should be put in that position by their union.” You want people like Rachel Malcolm to continue playing for the United States and to prosper there.

Should these discussions be conducted six weeks after a World Cup, putting their girls in a position where they are expected to deal with it?
