Sharks (19) 29

Cons: Smith 3 Pen: Smith 3 Tries: V Tshitukav, M Tshitukav, Mazibuko, Kolisi

Scarlets (14) 19

Sharks celebrated a first win of the Rugby World Cup (URC) season by edging a spirited Scarlets.

Without a win or a win before the international break, both teams entered the Durban heat.

The Sharks’ star power was the 13 current Springboks who made their squad.

Vincent and Manu, Lee-Marvin Mazibuko, and Vincent and Manu, Tshitukav siblings, interacted with Scarlets for the hosts, and Blair Murray and Marnus van der Merwe created magic.

After having one game postponed in round two, Scarlets come out on top of the URC table, while Stormers advance to 12th.

The Springbok captain drawing in defenders before the opening try, which was facilitated by a barnstorming break from Kolisi, allowed Vincent Tshitukav to flog the ball out.

Johnny Williams made the break for Scarlets after 10 minutes, with Harvey Cuckson finding the team’s own Springbok Van der Merwe in support.

After Manu Tshitukav’s excellent footwork and Sam Costelow’s conversion, Scarlets took the lead.

For Scarlets’ second score, Murray had a chance to get a loose clearance before making a speculative kick that ricocheted into his path.

In the second half, Scarlets were victorious, and a strong scrum and clever pop pass gave way to Rogers, who had the resources to defeat the covering defense.

After the scores were tied, the Sharks once more backed their set piece, and Kolisi wriggled out of the driving lineout to score his second try in as many weeks and earn the crucial bonus point.

Taine Plumtree, the son of Sharks head coach John, became enraged as the game grew more clandestine, and Costelow took advantage of a break in play by making a meandering run but he could not find the support.

The impressive Smith kicked his team two goals ahead after giving Scarlets respect when they chose to use posts.

“Relieved,” said Sharks head coach John Plumtree. I thought Jean Smith handled the situation fairly well in the conditions, and I was really pleased for the boys who came out.

We appeared to be a side that is low on confidence; we did have some chances to score in the wider channels, but I’m pleased with how the boys managed to stay there.

“I thought the Scarlets were fantastic physically and how big the guys they’ve brought into their fold really stood out.”

I know it’s been a lot of work, but I know today was just about getting a win for everyone who supports us.

Dwayne Peel, the head coach of the Scarlets, said, “It was definitely a step forward for us and it made me feel a little more like ourselves.”

We leave with nothing but frustration because there were a few bonus points we could have won, it’s obvious.

We struggled to get past the line and scored some soft tries, but I believe it’s a step in the right direction. There were some bad execution moments.

Westlife’s Shane Filan red-faced as he forgets lyrics to song on live TV

When making up new lyrics for his own song during a live television performance on Friday night, Westlife singer Shane Filan managed to cover it up by covering it up.

Westlife singer Shane Filan dramatically forgot the lyrics to a song on live TV. The pop star, 46, found fame as part of the Irish boyband in the late 1990s alongside Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, Brian McFadden, who left permanently in 2004, and Mark Feehily, who is currently on hiatus whilst he deals with various health issues. The trio have now launched a comeback with their single Chariot.

The song, which includes popular songs like You Raise Me Up and Uptown Girl, will be included on their upcoming greatest hits album 25, which also includes a new addition of acting. Although Mark’s vocals are on the album, Shane was left to play him during their appearance on The Late Late Show in Ireland, but he couldn’t quite remember the lyrics because he wasn’t in the lineup.

Opting to simply make the words up instead, Shane seemed to have got away with it until host Patrick Kielty pointed it out at the end of the performance. He quipped: “You also surprised the two boys tonight with your new single!” In response, Shane said: “My new rendition.”

The Bop Bop Baby singer then explained the blunder, jokingly blaming it on his absent bandmate. He said: “So it was the world premiere of Chariot, but the second verse I actually sang the wrong line. I actually made up a line tonight. I’m going to blame Mark on it cuz it’s Mark’s verse, but yeah.

What’s the line, I’m reading through it, and I’m going, “What’s the line?” “,” and then it completely disappeared from my mind. You just need to improvise, sometimes. And I was anticipating it, but it was entertaining.

At the conclusion of the program, Patrick thanked the boys for their sacrifices in their home country with a Late Late Show award. He continued, “We just wanted to say a big thank you to you guys just for the joy you’ve brought everyone for 25 years here in this show, on stages all over the world.” You have fought for Ireland all your life and won awards. We were genuinely not more proud.

“Well, flying the flag at home and abroad on behalf of everyone here, all your fans, and everyone at the Late Late Show, we want you to accept this; this is our Late Late Late Show Legend award.”

Mark won’t be joining the band’s 25th anniversary celebrations. Mark announced his shock exit from the Irish group last year, amid some serious health battles, but many had been hopeful he would return to the stage soon. “It is with the utmost level of regret that I must now temporarily stand down from all Westlife touring until a time that I have had the chance to fully recover from the turbulent journey I have been through as an individual,” Mark emotionally revealed in February 2024.

Mark won’t be able to participate in the festivities, sadly. When he is ready and able, we hope he will be able to return to the stage. He continues to express his love and positivity to all of you, as he has always done, Westlife said in a statement shared with fans at the time.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our 25th anniversary celebrations, according to Westlife, who announced in June that they would be performing as a trio to mark their 25th anniversary at the Newcastle Arena. Who would have imagined that 25 years later, we would still be here?

“We have a lot of exciting plans coming up that will include new music, an album, special shows, and many, many more surprises,” the company announced. Sadly, Mark won’t be able to attend the gathering. When he is ready and able, we hope he will be able to return to the stage. He continues to express his gratitude and love to you all.

The four of us are still in shock that 25 years have passed. You have consistently shown us us that we are still in love and loyal to them wherever we go. We are so blessed to have you all with us, and we look forward to sharing a happy birthday with you! Happy 25th Birthday to all of us! Love, Kian, Mark, Nicky, and Shane X.

One Injured As Truck Falls Off Lagos Bridge

A fully-loaded truck fell off the Oshodi Bridge in Lagos State, seriously injuring one person.

Read more about LASTMA’s arrest of six suspected “One-Chance” robbers, recovery of 77 stolen phones, and others under the bridge.

Prior to the incident, the truck’s brake system was said to have failed.

In a statement confirming the incident on Saturday, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority claimed its agent responded quickly by rescuing the injured man.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) once more demonstrated its unwavering commitment to public safety, emergency response, and traffic orderliness in an example of operational precision and institutional alertness. Today, its operatives rescued a severely injured male victim from a horrific accident involving a fully loaded vehicle.

The six-tyre truck, with the AKD 135 YK registration number, allegedly sank into the terminal ditch after leaving the Oshodi-Oke inward mile 2 and jumped off the Oshodi Bridge.

The ill-fated truck, which was reportedly loaded with tonner printing materials, lost control as it descended the bridge, skidded off the carriageway, and slammed into the terminal below, reportedly causing a critical mechanical failure.

The statement from the Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, partially read, “The unfortunate incident, which could have culminated in catastrophic casualties, was quickly mitigated by the prompt, professional, and coordinated intervention of LASTMA personnel who arrived at the scene within minutes to rescue victims, manage traffic, and prevent escalation.”

The officers immediately began the rescue and managed to free the victim who had suffered horrifying injuries upon arrival, according to the organization.

The injured man was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for urgent care, while the truck’s driver was arrested and handed over to security personnel from Makinde Police Station, Oshodi, for further investigation into the cause of the brake malfunction and other contributing factors.

LASTMA employees immediately cordoned off the accident scene, diverted vehicular movement, and supervised the wreckage clearance, restoring traffic normalcy in remarkably short time to prevent secondary collisions and ensure the safety of road users.

Tina O’Brien has heaped praise on her daughter Scarlett Thomas over her singing voice after the teen skipped her GCSEs to pursue a career music. The Coronation Street star took to her Instagram to share a video of Scarlett, 16, singing a version of Tate McRae’s Tit For Tat.

Tina, 42, wrote, “Couln’t be prouder of Scarlett,” in the caption. She makes me feel so emotional because of her voice. One gorgeous little human has so much heart and power. Pure magic can be experienced as she develops into her own sound.

Scarlett has previously stated that she wants to follow in the footsteps of her well-known family and work in the show business and has regularly shared videos on TikTok singing. After beginning an acting career, she made the decision to skip her exams.

She first appeared on TV in 2023 in BBC drama Waterloo Road, where she played Izzy – the daughter of her real-life uncle, Adam Thomas. Scarlett’s famous family includes dad Ryan, who is also a Corrie star, while her other uncle, Scott Thomas, starred on Love Island.

Scarlett frequently appears in videos showcasing her acting and singing abilities with her parents and uncles. Both parents have talent, and Scarlett has benefited from it, in part because of it. She appears to be a confident, caring, and loving person who is close to her family.

Everyone thinks she gets a lift from family, getting on Waterloo Road, according to Ryan, who previously defended Scarlett’s career in entertainment.

He continued, “She has to go through the same procedure as everyone else; it was between her and someone else.” It wasn’t like, “She’s going to get this job, Thomas,” as it was.

John Torode says ‘I feel blessed’ as he pays tribute to wife Lisa Faulkner

Celebrity chef John Torode and his wife Lisa Faulkner shared a sweet message from the former MasterChef host to his wife Lisa about their sixth wedding anniversary.

On social media, former MasterChef host John Torode and his wife Lisa Faulkner shared a heartfelt tribute to their wedding anniversary.

The celebrity chef, 60, and his actress spouse, 53, celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary, having exchanged vows back in October 2019. Posting a photograph from the pair’s big day, which took place at Aynhoe Park in Banbury, John penned an emotional message to his partner, describing her as his “rock” and his “best friend”. The snapshot captured the chef and the EastEnders actress positioned above their extravagant wedding cake, raising their arms triumphantly as they sliced into the confection.

Lisa donned a subtle, white bridal gown with delicate lace details around the neckline and shoulder straps, while John wore an elegant black suit with a crisp white shirt and a dark-toned tie.

Both Lisa and John displayed beaming grins as they gestured to their wedding guests from the top table where they were seated. The table featured a pristine white tablecloth and an array of colourful illuminated candles.

John wrote a message en route to the endearing image, saying “Happy Anniversary, my love, my rock, my best friend.” I consider myself to be your husband, @lisafaulknercooks, honoured! I’m in love with you so much, and the emoji read “I love you so much.”

While Lisa responded to John’s words with her own message, “Happy anniversary my John,” supporters and admirers flocked to the comments section to express their congratulations to the couple. Every day I smile thanks to you. And I sincerely love you. Every day I smile thanks to you. And I sincerely love you.

John responded with a heartfelt message, typing: “I feel so blessed,” and added a love heart emoji next to his words. Several celebrities took the time to congratulate the couple, with TV presenter Ruth Langsford commenting: “Happy Anniversary love birds!”

While Vicky Pattinson, a reality TV star, wrote, “Happy Anniversary, My Loves”. Additionally, users left messages saying, “You both look so happy. Congratulations, you both had a difficult year, but you both managed it. “Happy anniversary, hope you both have a special day,” and “Keep cooking” are also to be said.

Four years after their initial dating, on October 24, 2019, John and Lisa tied the knot. A ceremony was held at a stunning country estate in Northamptonshire for their closest friends and family. The couple hosted a pre-wedding dinner the night before their big day during the two days-long wedding celebrations.

Among the guests watching their friends say ‘I do’ were famous faces from the worlds of cooking and acting. Attendees included Waterloo Road star Angela Griffin, Emmerdale actress Nicola Stephenson, MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace and Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden.

Lisa telling HELLO!, the couple’s relationship began with an open conversation about how it all started. “I’ve always believed he was attractive,” he said. Happy John’s birthday. Every day I smile thanks to you. And I sincerely love you.

We only became friends after talking for a while, but he’s a good-looking bloke, but you can appreciate someone’s attractiveness without thinking, “Blimey.” I adore his company. Nonstop chatter is what keeps on going. He’s my ideal partner.

A challenging year for John and Lisa Their most recent wedding anniversary followed John’s departure from MasterChef, the BBC culinary programme he co-hosted with Gregg Wallace for nearly two decades.

The news that John’s contract with the long-standing series would not be renewed emerged earlier this summer, after an allegation of him using “an extremely offensive racist term” was upheld, as per the BBC. John claimed he has “no recollection” of it in an Instagram post he shared in July.

John responded to his resignation by saying, “I’ve been “sacked” from MasterChef, despite no information I have received from anyone at the BBC or Banijay.” I’ll say again that I don’t recall the accusations I’m facing. The inquiry couldn’t even identify the time and year that I’m alleged to have said something inappropriate.

I have enjoyed working on MasterChef every second, but it’s about to hand the utensils to someone else.

Cruz Beckham speaks out after ‘awkward’ Victoria and David moment

With the release of his new songs Optics and Lick The Toad, which have lyrics that might not appeal to his famous parents, Cruz Beckham is putting his talents to the music industry.

Cruz Beckham has finally spoken out after his “awkward” moment with parents Victoria and David. The 20-year-old is dipping his toe back into the music world as he has released his two new songs this week.

However, his parents might find it a little awkward to listen to his new songs’ theme. His new songs, Optics and Lick The Toad, feature sexy topics like drugs and sex.

It’s thought that Cruz may have to prepare himself for a potentially awkward conversation with his famous parents after releasing his especially explicit new single, Optics. But the singer has spoken out for the first time since releasing the risky track.

Taking to his Instagram story, Cruz shared a photo from the summer where he is standing proudly with his hands on his hips while wearing some white swimming briefs.

He then jokes by saying: “It’s a shame they didn’t recognise my gorgeous legs.” The raunchy music comes amid his relationship with Jackie Apostel, 30, who is a decade older than him, and they collaborated on the album and album cover together.

In Optics, he sings, “I love me some mushrooms, good head, and an erotic 69,” while taking a thousand selfies in your bed.

You want to know how it looks, I want to know how it feels, but the chorus continues, “Stay high fashion, no comedown, no crashing.” His second single, Lick The Toad, places a focus on “mother nature,” rather than making any less provocative lyrics.

“Madam, take a lick of you mother nature,” the phrase reads. Let me take a hit from your mother nature, Cruz says.

Cruz opened for The Royston Club in a string of intimate gigs, including a performance at East London’s iconic The George Tavern. On stage, Cruz and his band belted out a selection of his new tunes, including Optics, Caroline, For Your Love, and Lick The Toad.

He addressed the audience, saying, “This is truly special for me. I just want to say thanks to everyone who is present tonight. Cruz was a little hesitant at the time, but the crowd started to flutter for him once he started.

He certainly spent the summer listening to Oasis, he says. He can play the guitar, has a good voice, and his songs are all catchy. I would describe his indie landfill-style as catchy.

Cruz has a long history of success in the music business. His debut single, If Every Day Was Christmas, was released in 2016 and all proceeds went to a charity at the time.
