Love Is Blind UK’s Jasmine shares baby news as she opens up on ‘fear’

Love Is Blind UK star Jasmine has welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with partner Bobby following an emergency C-section

Support has flooded in for a Love Is Blind UK participant who has delivered a touching hospital announcement.

Jasmine featured on the debut series of the popular Netflix romance programme when it launched in 2024. Viewers will recall how during the pod sessions, Jasmine encountered potential match Bobby, with the pair seemingly clicking immediately and building a strong bond without ever seeing each other.

Following the programme’s format, they only came face to face after deciding to take their romance to the next step and become engaged. The couple then subsequently married on the series as they moved in together.

Following the first series broadcast, the duo confirmed they remained a couple and were eagerly anticipating their future together.

Earlier this year, their bond grew even stronger when Jasmine and Bobby posted on Instagram to reveal they were anticipating their first baby together, sharing a video with the caption: “We’ve been keeping a secret I’ve pictured your tiny face a thousand times.

“I’ve dreamt of this moment long before I knew how good life could get. Then I met your dad and the rest was written in love. Baby Johnson Coming Winter 2025! !”, reports OK!.

Now, Jasmine has posted a touching family announcement from the hospital. She and Bobby have celebrated the arrival of their baby son as messages of support have come flooding in.

Paramount goes hostile in its bid for Warner Bros Discovery

Paramount has gone hostile in its bid for Warner Bros Discovery, challenging Netflix, which reached a $72bn takeover deal with the company just days ago.

Paramount said on Monday that it is going straight to Warner Bros shareholders with a bid worth about $74.4bn, or $30 per share in cash. Unlike Netflix, it is also offering to buy the cable assets of Warner Bros, and asking shareholders of the company to reject the Netflix bid.

It said its offer is worth about $18bn more than the competing bid from Netflix, which it says is based on an “illusory prospective valuation” of those cable assets.

It is the same bid that Warner Bros rejected in favour of the offer from Netflix in a merger that would alter the United States entertainment landscape.

Paramount criticised the Netflix offer, saying it “exposes WBD shareholders to a protracted multi-jurisdictional regulatory clearance process with an uncertain outcome along with a complex and volatile mix of equity and cash”.

Paramount said it had submitted six proposals to Warner Bros Discovery over a 12-week period.

“We believe our offer will create a stronger Hollywood. It is in the best interests of the creative community, consumers and the movie theater industry,” Paramount Chairman and CEO David Ellison said in a statement. “We believe they will benefit from the enhanced competition, higher content spend and theatrical release output, and a greater number of movies in theaters as a result of our proposed transaction.”

Trump influence

On Friday, Netflix struck a deal to buy Warner Bros Discovery, the Hollywood giant behind Harry Potter and HBO Max. The cash and stock deal is valued at $27.75 per Warner share, giving it a total enterprise value of $82.7bn, including debt. The transaction is expected to close in the next 12 to 18 months, after Warner completes the previously announced separation of its cable operations. Not included in the deal are networks such as CNN and Discovery.

But US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the deal struck by Netflix to buy Warner Bros Discovery “could be a problem” because of the size of the combined market share.

The Republican president said he would be involved in the decision about whether the federal government should approve the $72bn deal.

Usha Haley, a Wichita State University professor who specialises in international business strategy, said Paramount’s ties to Trump are notable. Paramount CEO David Ellison is the son of longtime Trump supporter Larry Ellison, the world’s second-richest person.

“He said he’s going to be involved in the decision. We should take him at face value,” Haley said of Trump. “For him, it’s just greater control over the media.”

In October, Paramount said it had bought the news and commentary website The Free Press and installed its founder, Bari Weiss, a conservative opinion writer, as the editor-in-chief of CBS News, saying it believes the country longs for news that is balanced and fact-based.

It was a bold step for the television network of Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather and 60 Minutes, long viewed by many conservatives as the personification of a liberal media establishment. The network placed someone in a leadership role who has developed a reputation for resisting orthodoxy and fighting “woke” culture.

Paramount’s tender offer is set to expire on January 8, 2026, unless it is extended.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar sign high-speed rail deal to link capitals

Saudi Arabia and Qatar have signed a formal agreement to construct high-speed rail connecting their capitals, the first project of its kind between the two Gulf states that were once deeply at odds.

According to a statement in official Saudi media on Monday, the “high-speed electric passenger railway” would connect Riyadh’s King Salman International Airport with Doha’s Hamad International Airport.

The Saudi cities of Al-Hofuf and Dammam are also expected to be on the network.

The train would reach speeds exceeding 300km/h (186mph) and the trip would take roughly two hours between the two capitals.

A direct flight between the cities clocks in at around 90 minutes.

The project, set to be completed in six years, expects to serve 10 million passengers per year and create 30,000 jobs across both countries, the statement said.

The agreement was signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during the latter’s visit to Riyadh.

The project, considered one of the most significant modern infrastructure undertakings between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, marks the latest in a series of moves marking the drastic improvement in ties between the two Gulf countries in recent years.

Saudi Arabia and its allies the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt had cut all diplomatic and transport ties with Qatar in June 2017.

The four nations accused Doha of backing groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood and seeking closer ties with Saudi Arabia’s archrival Iran – allegations Qatar vehemently denied.

Relations were fully restored in January 2021 after a summit in the Saudi desert city of AlUla.

MBS visited Doha in December 2021 for the first time since the thaw in ties, as part of a regional Gulf tour.

Since then, leaders from the two kingdoms have met regularly and joined forces to back diplomatic initiatives including calls for a ceasefire in Israel’s more than two-year genocidal war on Palestinians in Gaza.

Riyadh also threw its support behind Qatar following Israel’s first known attack on Qatar in September, which targeted leaders of the Palestinian group Hamas, housed in a Qatari government residential complex, as they gathered to discuss a ceasefire deal proposed by United States President Donald Trump.

Two I’m A Celebrity campmates to miss wrap party as they rush to fly back home

Two I’m A Celebrity 2025 campmates are expected to skip the ITV series’ wrap party to catch the ‘first plane’ out of Australia and return to their respective homes

Two of this year’s I’m A Celebrity campmates are thought to be snubbing the series’ wrap party as they dash to the airport to fly home. The former jungle dwellers have been living it up in the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa but are reportedly now heading for the “first plane out of Oz” following Angry Ginge’s coronation as the new King of the Jungle on Sunday night (December 7).

Vogue Williams and Ruby Wax, who were the third and fifth celebrities to be voted out, are being tipped as the first celebs to say goodbye Down Under, meaning they will miss out on the traditional wrap party with the rest of this year’s cast. According to a source, 40-year-old Vogue is keen to get back to her and Spencer Matthews’ their three young children, Theodore, Gigi and Otto, while comedian Ruby, 72, wants to be reunited with her cats.

“Filming for the reunion show began at 4pm so Vogue and Ruby will feature as part of that but then will be whizzing off to the airport,” the source told The Sun., adding that they expected the celebrating and dance to go on until “the small hours” once the cameras switch off.

Despite having a fallout in the jungle over some sweets, the pair appear to have spent lots of time together waiting for the rest of their jungle mates to join them, and shared a few snaps of them to social media.

Following her eviction, Absolutely Fabulous star Ruby revealed she was devastated not to make it all the way to the end, telling This Morning viewers: “I’m totally devastated, I’ve been ripped from my family, ripped from the womb, I am so upset, I can’t even tell you. I belong in that jungle, I wanna go to my people.”

The whole gang were reunited on Sunday evening when Angry Ginge- whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle – beat Celebs Go Dating star Tom Wilson Reid to be announced this year’s winner, taking the crown from McFly singer Danny Jones and leaving Emmerdale star Shona McGarty in third place.

The 24-year-old social media content creator was the bookies’ favourite throughout the series and finished up with 65% of the public vote. Tom, 39, secured 35%, of the votes and graciously accepted his runner-up position, saying, “In every conceivable way he was so richly deserving. I would have had a great pang of guilt if I’d pinched it from him.”

Following his win, Angry Ginge revealed he almost quit the show on the first day, telling the Mirror: “I was debating on the very first day, and I’d only been in there for a couple of hours. “It was late when I’d got in, and I was expecting a steak but it was one steak between four of us, and that was a shock. That was the eye opener. I think, forget the snakes around the head.”

Sara Cox says ‘disgusting’ injury is causing her trouble after exhausting charity challenge

BBC Radio 2 presenter Sara Cox has opened up about the “hardest thing” she has ever done after completing her mammoth marathon challenge last month, which saw her run 135 miles in just five days

DJ Sara Cox has confessed she’s still battling a “disgusting” injury following her exhausting marathon challenge.

The BBC Radio 2 host took on the enormous task last month, collecting an incredible £11.5million for BBC Children in Need as she tackled 135 miles across just five days.

Sara, 50, began her journey in Kielder Forest in Northumberland before crossing the finish line in Pudsey in Leeds on Friday, November 14.

Nearly a month on from completing her remarkable charity feat, the mother-of-three has disclosed she’s dealing with fluid in her left knee, forcing her to keep moving to prevent it from locking up.

She confessed it was the “hardest thing” she has ever tackled and it seems Sara is still battling the aftermath of her brave effort, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The Bolton-born broadcaster earned acclaim from the likes of Prince William and the Spice Girls singer Mel C, but she revealed her ongoing health issues since the marathons have left her feeling exasperated.

Chatting to the Big Issue, Sara explained: “I’m just trying to keep stretching that left knee at the back. There’s a little pocket of fluid there apparently. I know it’s disgusting, I don’t want to put you off your elevenses.

“It’s frustrating because it’s tiring being in pain. Obviously the bigger picture is that loads of kids have been helped with £11.5m from very generous people. That’s a definite comfort, for sure, when I’m aching and creaking and being grumpy.”

Sara shared her exhilaration at crossing the finish line in Pudsey after completing the final marathon. She was met by her husband, marketing executive Ben Cyzer, and their children Isaac, 17, and Renee, 15, along with a group of her closest friends.

The Radio 2 Teatime show host crossed the finish line of her great northern marathon challenge around 3.30pm on the final day. She sported a Pudsey Bear backpack as she journeyed through Durham, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire on her impressive 135-mile trek.

Speaking to the Big Issue, she said: “To my dying day, I’ll never forget seeing two of my kids and my husband at the finish line, flanked by all my best mates. The relief and joy and the jubilation that I finished just about in one piece will stay with me forever.”

She added: “You know, I grew up with celebrities fundraising. In the olden days, you just had to sit in a bath of beans. Things have changed now. Sending out a 50-year-old woman to run five marathons.”

The BBC radio presenter then quipped that “it’s outrageous”.

This comes after Sara confessed that one of her children sometimes pretends not to know her. Despite her monumental charitable achievement, she admits she’s still an embarrassment to her children, as her 17 year old son Isaac often ignores her when they’re at the gym together.

“I’ll give him a lift there and it will be lovely,” she shared with The Times. “Then in the gym if I walk past him he gives me that little look to say, ‘Go away.’ He knows people there and he doesn’t want me going up to him all sweaty.”
