The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Indianapolis Colts 48-27 to maintain their NFC West title hopes. Quarterback Brock Purdy threw a career-high five touchdown passes.

The 49ers extended their winning streak to five games with the completion of 25 of their 34 passes for 295 yards.

The 49ers defeated a spirited Colts side by running back Christian McCaffrey, who caught two touchdown passes.

Since the legendary Joe Montana in 1990, Purdy became the first 49ers quarterback to score five touchdown passes.

The 49ers are aware that two victories will give them the divisional title and home advantage in the playoffs as they approach their final two regular-season games against the Chicago Bears and the NFC West leaders, the Seattle Seahawks.

The Colts are out of the AFC South title race after their fifth successive defeat, but they could still earn a wildcard spot.

Alec Pierce finished with four catches for 86 yards as the Colts opened the scoring with the help of 44-year-old emergency quarterback Philip Rivers.

However, Purdy quickly took control of the visitors, completing touchdown passes to Demarcus Robinson and McCaffrey quickly in the opening quarter.

Rivers and Pierce made a second-quarter score-settings combination early in the second quarter, but Purdy’s 11-yard pass gave the 49ers a 24-17 lead at half-time.

As the 49ers continued to lead, Purdy found Jauan Jennings and McCaffrey either side of a one-yard touchdown run for Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.

Rob and Michele Reiner funeral update as devastated children speak out

After their brother was charged with the murders of their parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s children have spoken out.

The couple’s 32-year-old son Nick, who had battled addiction and was reportedly receiving schizophrenia, has been charged with their deaths after their deaths were discovered in their Los Angeles home on December 14. Jake, 34, and Romy, 27, the other children of Rob and Michele, have expressed their gratitude for their support, as well as confirm that details for a service of remembrance will follow in due course.

The two then described their parents as their “best friends,” not just their parents.

(Evan Agostini/Invision/AP) Rob Reiner and his wife Michele have three children: Jake, Romy, and Nick.

The siblings’ representatives stated in a new statement that they are forever grateful for the love and support they have received.

They will inform people about a memorial service in their parents’ honor at a later time.

Romy and Jake claimed last week that they had endured “unimaginable pain” daily.

Words cannot even begin to describe the unbearable pain we are going through each day, according to a statement from last week. No one should ever go through the horrifying and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner. They were our best friends, not just our parents.

When discussing the circumstances surrounding their deaths, the siblings continued to thank and thank people for their love and support.

We are appreciative of the kindness, condolences, and support we have received from people of all kinds, not just from our own families and friends.

We now request respect and privacy, tolerance for speculation and compassion for humanity, and the memorialization of our parents for the extraordinary lives they led and the love they shared.

After being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, their brother made his first court appearance last Wednesday (17.12.25).

During his appearance at Los Angeles Superior Court, Nick wore a blue anti-suicide smock and shackles despite having battled addiction and homelessness for years.

His lawyer, Alan Jackson, declined to offer a plea for his client. Nick did have a brief speech at the hearing, though.

When asked if he would consent to a swift trial, he responded, “Yes, your honor.” The date of Nick’s arraignment is currently January 7, 2026.

After being alerted when Rob and Michele didn’t respond to a scheduled visitor on their home’s security buzzer, Romy and a friend alerted them to the bodies of their parents in their bedroom.

Police and medical assistance arrived at the address after around 3.38 p.m. when the couple were already dead.

‘A step ahead’ – why Wharton holds key for Palace

Adam Wharton may be in the mix when Crystal Palace attempts to win more silverware on Tuesday at Emirates Stadium.

The Eagles won the FA Cup earlier this year, and the midfielder, age 21, won it with Liverpool.

The EFL Cup’s second round’s winner must first defeat Premier League leaders Arsenal in the quarter-finals before Oliver Glasner’s side can move on.

Keep Wharton at the helm of the looming transfer window for January could be crucial if Palace are to continue to improve their recent success and establish a consistent presence in European competition.

According to Match of the Day pundit Thomas Hitzlsperger, “He is still a young player, but the way he moves around the pitch looks so calm and he hasn’t even played 50 Premier League games yet.”

Being so central and inexperienced while still having such an impact on this team is really impressive. A contemporary number six who both wins and passes the ball.

His focus is always on the pitch, he says. He is aware of where his teammates are and where he is. He occasionally jogs around and doesn’t really get sweaty, but he is aware of where his needs are in his current situation. “No one can get the ball off of him.”

After falling to Leeds on Saturday, Palace moved up to eighth place in the Premier League, only three points clear of fourth-placed Chelsea.

They will need Wharton’s best performance in the Conference League’s two-legged play-off if they want to advance and maintain their European dream.

According to BBC Sport’s head football correspondent Phil McNulty, the “classy, fiercely competitive midfielder” has been “running games with his” loping, languid style.”

It should come as no surprise that he has connections to numerous Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, and both Manchester teams.

 Adam Wharton open-play touch mapOpta

What are his rivals in the Premier League?

Wharton made an impressive display in the middle of the park despite losing to Manchester City by 3-0 in December.

No player in the game made more tackles than his four, which should surprise Opta, who averages 2.2 tackles per game.

He plays defensively strong, and he averages 2.1% of his passes per game, which highlights game intelligence and judgment.

Wharton has made 15 appearances in the Premier League this season and has played 1, 213 minutes so far.

He averages 4.9 progressive passes per match and 0.7 open-play chances.

He leads his team-mates in terms of attempted passes in the final third (170), second in terms of through balls (82), and one behind Yeremy Pino, who has the most chances created (211).

Wharton expands the conversation so that only Declan Rice and Elliot Anderson can average a 50% dribble completion while expanding the conversation to include other Premier League midfielders.

Rice leads with 11.3, followed by Anderson (9.8) and Bruno Guimaraes (6.5), who also holds the lead in progressive carries. Caicedo averages 6.1% while Wharton is 4.8%.

Wharton may be the worst pass- and pass-ahead midfielder out of those five, but he has the third-most forward passes under high-intensity pressure completed in 90 minutes, with a 6.53, which suggests he is more likely to try line-breaking passes.

He is being viewed as a future star and demonstrates his ability to engage with the best players in the Premier League right now.

Wharton himself knows that there is still work to be done, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

The midfielder said, “I try to take bits from everyone,” after his team beat Wolves 2-0 last month. People come up in various positions, whether it’s the opposition or through training.

He continued, “I chat to them off the pitch as well as learn new things, even if it’s not necessarily about football but the mental side of things.”

“It’s tiny things,” I make an effort to take as much as possible, hoping it will improve.

Wharton is a member of Tuchel’s England team.

Shay Given, a pundit for Match of the Day, and former Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given, praised the England international’s intelligence.

He strikes me as a player who doesn’t need to be an overly coach, Given said. He is aware of the position.

He occasionally slows down and allows the play to whizz by. Before the pass even arrives, he is aware of it. His surroundings are also ahead of his own brains.

He is one of the Premier League’s most gifted midfielders, according to me. Does he play for the World Cup team?

Vogue Williams says ‘that was a make’ in I’m A Celebrity admission

Vogue Williams, an Irish actress, has spoken out about her time on ITV’s “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here”! and acknowledged that she entered the camp “first mistake” before making the admission.

Vogue Williams has confessed she made a “mistake” after signing up to I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of here!. The Irish podcast star was a late entrant to ITV’s I’m A Celeb camp last month.

Tom Read Wilson, a favorite of Celebs Go Dating, and TV host, joined her on the program. Vogue, however, spent 13 days in the Australian wilderness, becoming the third celebrity to be voted off.

The 40-year-old has branded the hit programme as “mentally tough” and “physically tough”. Speaking on the S*****d, Married, Annoyed podcast, she disclosed one thing she would have approached differently given another opportunity.

She stated, “First mistake, I didn’t speak to anyone before entering.” It’s insanely difficult, even at first glance, and it’s so much harder than it looks on TV.

When Husband Spenny said, “Oh, I read an article where they weren’t being harsh enough on the celebrities,” I thought, “What? ” But I’ve made some good friends and it’s a lot of fun.

Vogue continued, claiming that after their brief exchange on the program, she had been messaging comedian Ruby Wax. Nine years after Spencer Matthews’ forced exodus from the series, the Irish television personality, remained a part of it.

Spencer had acknowledged using steroid medication “‘to look good in the shower” in preparation for a charity boxing bout. Discussing the incident with the BBC afterwards, the former Made in Chelsea star called it “one of the biggest mistakes”.

He stated, “I was just completely devastated when the reality emerged that I was going home on the third day.” I didn’t feel particularly anxious or depressed for someone who didn’t experience anxiety or depression. It was a little gloomy.

On her My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, Vogue delved into her experience in the jungle, saying, “You get in the car and they take your phone away.

Because you’re constantly covered up, you never know what time it’s or where you’re going, making up your mind and making up your mind. When you leave camp, your head is covered.

It kind of makes it that much more difficult, they say. Before I entered, I should have spoken with more people.

The mother-of-four has experience competing on television. She won the 2015 Bear Grylls: Mission Survive first season, and she was scheduled to participate in The Jump in 2017 but withdrew due to an injury.

Since then, she has featured on programmes including Vogue Williams – Wild Girls and Strictly Come Dancing’s 2024 Christmas special. She is also set to feature on Gladiators Celebrity Special on Christmas Day from 3.35pm on BBC One.
