Arteta’s unlucky captain – how Odegaard set unwanted record

Things don’t look so good for Martin Odegaard once more just three days after his “phenomenal” performance against Olympiakos in the Champions League.

The Arsenal captain became the first player to be substituted before half-time in three consecutive starts with the 2-0 victory over West Ham on Saturday. He had to be substituted after only 30 minutes to make history.

The 26-year-old Norwegian’s first frustrating start to the season is just getting started with victories against Leeds and Nottingham Forest.

Those times were caused by a persistent shoulder problem. After being chosen by manager Mikel Arteta for an attacking team, he had to be withdrawn this time because he “knee-to-knee” with West Ham forward Crysencio Summerville.

After the game, Arteta said, “I just spoke to him.” He doesn’t think it matters, he says. He has a brace on. Although we won’t be very lucky with that either, we will have to wait and see what the doctors will say.

For whatever reason, we haven’t had him since the start of the season. The shoulder twice before the injury.

“We’ll have to wait and see how much of that injury is coming, and we’ll find solutions,” he said. “Obviously, he’s our captain and has a player who gives us a completely different perspective with what he can do, particularly in the attacking role.

Let’s wait, and I’m hoping it’s not so bad.

How Odegaard broke a record that was unheard

Arsenal 5-0 Leeds (23 August)

Odegaard was forced to be withdrawn 38 minutes into their second game against Leeds after landing awkwardly on his shoulder in the opening game of the campaign against Manchester United, having played 90 minutes.

Arteta said it was difficult to determine the severity of the injury right away after playing full-time and that he would need to have his scan taken.

Nottingham Forest 3-0 at Arsenal on September 13th.

Eight days later, Odegaard returned to the squad for the team’s 1-0 defeat at Liverpool, starting both of Norway’s matches during the international break in September.

He was back in the starting XI for the Gunners against Nottingham Forest on September 13 but had to come off once more in the 18th minute, with Arteta later confirming that the injury was a result of his shoulder issue.

West Ham 2-0 at Arsenal on October 4th.

Odegaard missed Arsenal’s final three games before making a late substitution for the team against Newcastle on September 28 and then playing the full match against Olympiacos on Wednesday in the Champions League.

The main positive is Arsenal’s new depth in the squad.

Odegaard is typically Arteta’s go-to man because he made 45 appearances for Arsenal in total last season.

The title challenge fell apart in 2024 and 2025 due to injuries, with Odegaard himself having a time out with an ankle issue.

However, north London’s seasons are different this time.

Eight new players were brought in by the Gunners during the summer transfer window, and that squad depth has already been a significant factor in their impressive campaign debut.

Declan Rice scored the opening goal thanks to Arteta’s ability to call on £60 million Martin Zubimendi to replace Odegaard.

Rice also suffered a back injury, but Arteta was able to add Mikel Merino and Ethan Nwaneri, both of whom performed exceptionally well.

The manager of Arsenal has already stated that the “finishers could be more important than the starting players this season,” but he will hope that due to injury issues he won’t have to rejoin his squad.

Dianne Buswell’s three-word response to Joe Sugg engagement rumours after huge blunder

Dianne Buswell, a professional dancer for Strictly Come Dancing, was in trouble at the beginning of the year when a careless mistake on social media sparked engagement rumors.

Strictly favourite Dianne Buswell was left squirming when she got grilled on Good Morning Britain back in March amid Joe Sugg engagement rumours after a huge social media blunder.

The Australian professional dancer, 36, graced the ITV morning show to chat about her dance tour with Strictly Come Dancing so-star Vito Coppola, but it wasn’t long before the conversation took a cheeky turn towards her private life.

GMB host Susanna Reid didn’t hesitate to dive into swirling engagement whispers after eagle-eyed fans clocked a glinting ring in Dianne’s social media posts earlier this year.

Dianne has been loved-up with Joe Sugg since their stint together on Strictly in 2018 and the pair are now expecting their first child together, with Dianne announcing her pregnancy news last month.

TV host Susanna inquired as to whether Dianne and Joe were engaged earlier this year because there had been a lot of rumors that they might have engaged in recent days.

Caught off guard, Dianne let out a shriek then laughed off the idea, sharing: “It’s a really funny story! I was in Australia and it’s quite hot over there. I had just flown in and my fingers get a little bit swollen on the plane.”

She moved her rings because of the swelling, making no claims about the engagement-related connection between the left hand. I’m posting pictures with my family online so that everyone could see my engagement photos. I don’t have a girlfriend.

Ed Balls also addressed her beau Joe in a humorous manner, exclaiming, “Joseph, what are you doing? ” What is he really doing? “I know! I know!” Dianne joined in the jest. Joe”!

The hilarious jewelry malfunction caused Dianne to refer to the entire episode as a brilliant blunder, making both the hosts and the dancer chuckle.

BBC audiences first witnessed the chemistry between Dianne and Joe when they teamed up on Strictly in 2018.

The pair won over both the judges and viewers, coming in second place, just behind Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton. By the time the couple started dating each other, they had already started to date each other on social media.

In a sweet picture, the lovers gazed into each other’s eyes while sporting their best outfits, as Joe put it: “I may not have won the glitter ball, but I’ve won something a million times more special.”

Following the exciting pregnancy announcement, Dianne recently teased fans with possible names for her baby boy. Last month, Dianne revealed the exciting news that she is expecting a bundle of joy with her partner Joe.

As the first pregnant professional dancer since the new series’ debut on September 20, Dianne has made history on Strictly. The couple, who met in 2018 while Joe was a BBC show competitor, shared their happiness with a sweet stick-figure illustration with the caption “Our little baby boy.” We look forward to meeting you.

Dianne shared some ideas about baby names on her podcast with comedian Chris McCausland, her successful 2024 Strictly partner.

Before Dianne and Joe realized they were expecting a boy, they initially considered a girl’s name unusual but ultimately had reservations. According to Dianne, “Joe would never have that,” but if it were a girl, it would always be Americus.

She joked about omitting Joe’s permission, saying, “However, I had planned to let him leave the room when I do the certificate or whatever you do and just put it on there.” That’s kind of cool, though, now that you’ve just said Americano.

It will be called Christopher Anton Craig Buswell-Sugg, I think. Christopher Craig Anton Buswell-Sugg might be the culprit, but that’s TBC right now. How many people have texted me saying, “You better call that baby, Chris? “? ‘. “I’m not even joking,” I said.

She said, “I’m still doing everything I did before,” in a conversation with Chris about how pregnant influences her dancing. Although my doctor has stated that everything is normal, lifts will likely require a little more caution.

He said, “Basically, if you’ve done it before, then crack on and keep doing what you were doing,” not to mention that you shouldn’t. ‘”.

You probably have heard about Taylor Swift’s newest album, whether or not you like it.

Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, learned on Friday that the 35-year-old had released her most recent album, The Life of a Showgirl.

Fans have been quick to dissect the meaning of each song and lyric, as usual.

However, one Wi-h Li-t songline has really sparked conversation.

Swift names a fairly well-known football team in the name.

Two crucial questions are posed by the reference.

First of all, does Swift have a fervent football fan base? How well do you know other songs with hazy football lore, secondly?

Verstappen criticises cooling vest but Russell will ‘run it’

Before the first race to be labeled a “heat hazard,” Max Verstappen has criticized Formula 1’s driver-cooling system.

The Red Bull driver said he didn’t intend to use the cooling vest because he didn’t like it because he placed second behind George Russell of Mercedes in Marina Bay.

And he claimed that the FIA’s plans to require the use of the cool vest starting next year were unsupported.

Oscar Piastri, McLaren’s third-place grid, was unsure whether to use the system, whereas Russell said he would run it.

The Singapore race was deemed to be a “heat hazard” by the FIA because it exceeded an index that combines high humidity and high temperatures.

How drivers try to cool off in Singapore and why it’s so difficult there?

Due to the conditions, a long, bumpy street circuit, and the fact that it is the longest race on the calendar, which is close to two hours, Singapore has long been considered the toughest race for drivers.

Only because the rule was implemented this year, has the “heat hazard” designation come into play. The drivers have been well-versed in the training to ensure they can deal with the conditions because the conditions have been at least somewhat the same since the start of the Singapore Grand Prix in 2008.

Before entering the cars, they also use ice baths and other techniques to maintain their core temperature.

Why does Verstappen dislike vests?

Verstappen claimed that the system and the accompanying regulations were flawed.

He continued, “I haven’t used the vest.” “I don’t intend to use it either,” I said. Because I believe the driver should decide this.

They will always throw it on safety, according to the FIA. However, there are many areas that could be improved on safety, including pit entry in specific locations. That, in my opinion, has a little more priority than a car vest.

“I dislike it,” I said. I dislike your body and the belts that attach to you, both on top of yours. Then they can claim that the design is poor. I disagree. The drivers simply need to have a choice in this regard.

Some people approve, while others disagree. That is acceptable. It should be your personal preference. Of course, we can (choose) this year, I am aware. But they probably won’t want to do that the following year. And doing that is wrong.

The issue is that there is a little more room for cables in a GT car or any other prototype.

It’s “in our cockpits” that there isn’t enough space, or at least not enough space because it’s so constricting. And I have a small problem with that.

Where will you also place the dry ice, plus? This extra space is not actually what the cars are designed for. And it’s still gone after 15 or 20 laps. And the system is running hot water.

Verstappen’s most recent comment brings up a problem with the system, which is that the dry ice takes on the tank’s ambient temperature if it can’t be kept cold for a long enough period of time.

The driver would become hotter rather than cooler as the temperature in F1 cars exceeds 40C during races.

However, Russell continued, “I’ll run it. This year, I participated in a few races. Not yet, it is the ideal solution. You can only test it in a race environment, which is a fact.

I was pleased with the Bahrain race, then. I also ran it in Saudi Arabia. I liked it a lot. However, it’s still much hotter here, of course. The faster melting of dry ice

“But the team has significantly improved the car’s self-cooling system. We are aware of some significant issues that are essentially a source of hot air.

The cockpit significantly exceeded 60C during some races, and moving a few electronic boxes around and running at 120C hydraulic lines around your feet can significantly affect the heat. Tomorrow, I’ll let you know whether it worked.

Piastri, the champion of the championship, said, “I still don’t know how to use it.” Yesterday I used it. The suit, in my opinion, is great when it works. But failing makes it even worse than not having it.

“I think the initiative is good,” I think. However, having the option to use it or not is important because there are advantages and disadvantages, as Max said.

McLaren confident of winning with constructors.

Lando Norris, who finished second behind Piastri, is in command of the championship with 25 points, ahead of Piastri.

Verstappen is the only other speculatively plausible title contender, trailing Piastri by 69 points.

On Sunday, McLaren are on track to win their second consecutive constructors’ title. If Ferrari or Mercedes cannot be outscored by 31 points, they will.

With only six races left in 2023, a team will have won the constructors’ title, making it one of the earliest instances of its kind.

However, this is the third consecutive race weekend for McLaren to exhibit less competitiveness than they did earlier in the season.

The team stopping development relatively early while others have continued to advance, according to team principal Andrea Stella, who said he thought the reason was a combination of McLaren’s car not performing as well as others at circuits where lap-time effect is dominated by braking and traction with short-duration corners and bumps.

In Singapore, overtaking is challenging, but McLaren has shown to be more efficient with tire usage, particularly in hot weather.

However, Norris, who won in Singapore last year, said he anticipated a challenging race.

No-one is one second quicker than you, he said, and you have to be one second quicker to overtake them.

“It’s quite simple when you’re the leader in this place, as I discovered last year. Tomorrow will be a different story for me. I need to arrange some large square footage. Compared to a car, it’s slower. Although it’s a new day, I’m a little on the back foot. We can still try to fill a few spots.

When asked how important it was to defeat Piastri in order to raise his title bid, Norris responded, “It’s just points.” Not many points, given that I’m fifth. I need to be there for the people I need.

Manager almost quit football after Vigar’s death

After Billy Vigar’s death, the manager of Chichester City FC said he had thought about leaving the game altogether.

Miles Rutherford described the past few weeks as “heart-breaking,” in a statement before the club’s FA Trophy game against Surrey’s Farnham Town on Saturday, their first since the tragedy.

Vigar, age 21, died last month after spending several days in an “significant brain injury” during a game away from Wingate &amp, Finchley FC.

He attributed Vigar’s family’s success in “making everyone come together” and persevere as a team.

He said, “Billy’s family and doing right by them is what’s most important to all of us right now.”

The West Sussex club, which had earlier called off its previous game against Lewes following the incident, had invited Vigar’s fans and relatives to “join in with paying tribute to him” at Saturday’s game, Mr. Rutherford continued.

Before kick-off, the late player received a minute’s worth of applause, and his number nine shirt was displayed on the field.

One of the nicest people I’ve met in the sport, Mr. Rutherford said, “He was a quiet lad.”

Billy’s family informed me that he was loving life and playing football when he was just emerging from his shell.

It’s all so unfair, they say.

The Football Association said it would conduct an immediate safety review of perimeter walls at football grounds in the National League system, and it is believed that Vigar’s injury was brought on by colliding with a concrete wall.

After receiving full accreditation from the relevant sanctioning bodies, Wingate &amp, Finchley FC stated in a statement on its website last week that it “will install rubber safety padding in the ground.”

After graduating from the Arsenal academy in 2024, Vigar also spent time at Derby County, Eastbourne Borough, and Hastings United.
