Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio has opened up about his one regret when it comes to his filmography and names the one and only movie of his that he watches

Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed what his biggest movie regret is in a rare interview about his impressive acting accolades and his personal life, which he likes to usually keep extremely private.

The Oscar-winning actor, 50, who is gearing up for the release of his brand-new movie One Battle After Another, has shed light on his current relationship with Vittoria Ceretti, his feelings about turning 50, and his acting success over the years.

Titanic actor Leo, who is best known for other roles including The Wolf of Wall Street, This Boy’s Life, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?, and Catch Me If You Can, revealed that his biggest regret when it comes to his movie past is turning down a role which Mark Wahlberg later got cast for. It comes after it was revealed why Matthew McConaughey lost the iconic Titanic role to Leonardo.

Wahlberg’s performance in the 1997 box office hit Boogie Nights earned him global notoriety, and Leonardo couldn’t help but be green with envy after watching the movie that he passed on.

Speaking to Esquire, The Revenant star admitted: “My biggest regret is not doing Boogie Nights. It was a profound movie of my generation. I can’t imagine anyone but Mark [Wahlberg] in it. When I finally got to see that movie, I just thought it was a masterpiece.”

Boogie Nights, released in 1997, focuses on the rise and fall of a young adult film star named Dirk Diggler, played by Wahlberg. The story, set in the 1970s and early 80s, follows Dirk’s journey from dishwasher to a prominent figure in the adult film industry under the guidance of director Jack Horner, portrayed by Burt Reynolds.

The film explores themes of ambition, fame, drugs, and the darker side of the adult film world – something which Leonardo, 50, feels he missed out on by not taking the role.

When it comes to watching his own movies back, Leo said that there’s one in particular that he was watched several times, whereas he doesn’t really bother tuning into any others.

“I rarely watch any of my films, but if I’m being honest, there is one that I’ve watched more than others,” he said.

“It’s The Aviator. That’s simply because it was such a special moment to me. I had worked with Marty Scorsese on Gangs of New York, and I’d been toting around a book on Howard Hughes for 10 years.

“I almost did it with Michael Mann, but there was a conflict and I ended up bringing it to Marty. I was 30. It was the first time as an actor I got to feel implicitly part of the production, rather than just an actor hired to play a role.

“I felt responsible in a whole new way. I’ve always felt proud and connected to that film as such a key part of my growing up in this industry and taking on a role of a real collaborator for the first time.”

On turning 50 and getting older, Leo said: “Turning 50 creates a feeling like you have a desire to just be more honest and not waste your time. I can only imagine how the next few decades are going to progress.

“I look at my mother, for example, and she just says exactly what she thinks and wastes no time. She spends no time trying to fake it.”

Rivers Moves To End Malnutrition With Nutrition 774 Initiative

The Rivers State Government has unveiled a coordinated plan to combat malnutrition through stronger health systems, sustainable food production, and expanded community engagement.

The Administrator of the State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), stated this during the launch of the Rivers State Nutrition 774 Town Hall Stakeholders’ Workshop in Port Harcourt.

Ibas, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibibia Worika, called for urgent and united action.

Themed “Strengthening Capacity to Drive Action for Nutrition Delivery,” the initiative brings together government agencies, communities, and development partners under a single framework to improve nutrition security.

It will be driven by clear priorities, reliable data, sustainable financing, and outreach to every household.

According to Ibas, the state has already taken key steps, including allocating 10.8% of the 2025 budget to the health sector, creating nutrition departments, and establishing dedicated budget lines across ministries.

He also said the state will revitalise major health facilities such as the Mother and Child Hospital and the Dr. Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Diagnosis Centre.

On food security, he cited the planned revamp of the Songhai Integrated Farm and the reactivation of the Rivers State Cassava Processing Plant in Oyigbo to strengthen agricultural value chains.

The Rivers State Council on Nutrition will lead implementation with data-driven monitoring and measurable results. National and local stakeholders also pledged support.

The Senior Special Assistant on Public Health in the Presidency, Uju Rochas-Anwukah, described malnutrition as a national emergency, adding that Nutrition 774 is designed to deliver integrated interventions in health, education, agriculture, social protection, and water, sanitation, and hygiene across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Imaonyani Ephraim-George, has urged participants to turn plans into concrete action through inter-agency collaboration.

Traditional rulers and local government administrators are also committed to the campaign.

Clinton to Trump: How Putin has met, courted and frustrated US presidents

As Russian President Vladimir Putin prepares for a summit in Alaska with his United States counterpart Donald Trump, he can draw on his experiences from 48 previous meetings with American presidents.

Over 25 years as Russia’s leader, Putin has met and worked with five US presidents: Bill Clinton, George W Bush, Barack Obama, Trump and Joe Biden.

While some of the earlier meetings were relatively warm, reflecting the hopes of US-Russia friendship between the end of the Cold War and the early 2000s, most of Putin’s more recent interactions — especially with Obama and Biden — have been frostier, as bilateral ties have worsened.

Here’s a recap of some of the key moments from those past meetings, and how jazz concerts and fishing trips gave way to threats.

Less than three months after he formally became president of Russia, Putin hosted US President Clinton in Moscow. The Russian leader took Clinton on a tour of the Kremlin, after which a Russian jazz group performed for them.

Clinton congratulated Putin on Russia’s decision to ratify two arms control treaties. “President Yeltsin led Russia to freedom. Under President Putin, Russia has the chance to build prosperity and strength, while safeguarding that freedom and the rule of law,” Clinton said, referring to Boris Yeltsin, Putin’s predecessor as president.

Putin, on his part, described the US as “one of our main partners”. Moscow, he said, would never again seek confrontation with Washington. “Never. We are for cooperation. We are for coming to agreement on problems that might arise,” he said.

But Clinton acknowledged their differences over Chechnya, where Russian forces had launched a major war the previous year, after a series of apartment blasts in Russia killed more than 300 people. Moscow blamed Chechen separatists for the explosions.

The Moscow meeting was the first of four between Putin and Clinton in 2000, the others on the margins of multilateral events, before the US president left office in January the following year.

After the September 11 attacks, Putin was the first world leader to call then-US President Bush and offer support. Two months later, Bush hosted Putin at his Crawford, Texas ranch, optimism about ties dripping from his words.

“When I was in high school, Russia was an enemy. Now the high school students can know Russia as a friend; that we’re working together to break the old ties, to establish a new spirit of cooperation and trust so that we can work together to make the world more peaceful,” Bush said. Bush drove Putin in a pick-up truck to a waterfall on the ranch.

But by the time they met in Russia in November 2002, US-led efforts for NATO expansion had injected unease into the relationship.

By this point, the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 had amplified tensions between the two countries. But despite differences, Bush continued to maintain a warm personal relationship with Putin, whom he hosted at his parents’ home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Both acknowledged areas where their views diverged, but they each credited the other with transparency.

Bush took Putin fishing. The Russian president was the only one who caught a fish on that trip – it was set free, Putin said.

The final meeting between Bush and Putin as presidents took place in Sochi, Russia, and was focused on US plans to expand a missile defence system in Europe that Russia was opposing.

There was no breakthrough – the two leaders agreed to disagree.

But their personal rapport appeared intact. Bush met Putin 28 times in total. He only met British Prime Minister Tony Blair more.

Putin was now prime minister, with ally Dmitry Medvedev the Russian president.

US President Obama met Putin during a visit to Moscow. By now, differences had grown over Russia’s invasion of Georgia in 2008, which the US had opposed.

“We may not end up agreeing on everything, but I think that we can have a tone of mutual respect and consultation that will serve both the American people and the Russian people well,” Obama told Putin.

As Obama met Putin on the margins of the G8 summit in Northern Ireland — Russia had been added to the grouping in 1998 and was expelled in 2014 after its annexation of Crimea — their frustration with each other was visible in an awkward photo that made headlines.

The US and its allies wanted then-Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to quit amid the civil war in that country, but Russia was backing him.

“With respect to Syria, we do have differing perspectives on the problem, but we share an interest in reducing the violence; securing chemical weapons and ensuring that they’re neither used nor are they subject to proliferation,” Obama said.

By the time Obama and Putin met for the ninth and final time at the APEC Summit in Peru, there was no pretence of bonhomie.

Russia had accused the US of engineering a coup against its ally and former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in 2014. The US and its allies had imposed sanctions against Russia over its annexation of Crimea.

Putin and Obama spoke for barely four minutes on the sidelines of the summit, with the US president asking his Russian counterpart to stick to his commitments under the Minsk agreements that were meant to bring peace to Ukraine.

July 2018: Putin-Trump

A year and a half into his first presidency, Trump’s victory in the 2016 US presidential election was still clouded by accusations that Russia had interfered in the election on his behalf when he met Putin in Helsinki.

The two met alone, with only interpreters. In a media interaction after that, Putin tried to recast the relationship in optimistic hues. “The Cold War is a thing of past,” he said, before listing a series of modern challenges facing the world — from an environmental crisis to terrorism. “We can only cope with these challenges if we join the ranks and work together. Hopefully, we will reach this understanding with our American partners.”

But it was Trump who made headlines. After he acknowledged that he had discussed the allegations of election interference with Putin, Trump was asked whether he believed US intelligence agencies that had concluded that Moscow had intervened in the vote.

“I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today,” Trump said. “He just said it’s not Russia. I will say this: I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

Trump met Putin six times in all in his first term.

June 2021: Putin-Biden

US President Joe Biden flew to Geneva for his only face-to-face meeting with Putin.

After years of steady deterioration, relations had reached their nadir after Biden had described Putin as a killer in March, prompting Russia to withdraw its ambassador from Washington. The US had followed.

The Geneva meeting helped reset ties – a bit. Both countries agreed to reappoint ambassadors.

But Biden was also blunt with Putin about US concerns over Russian election interference and cyberattacks, and said he had, in effect, threatened Moscow that Washington could launch tit-for-tat cyberstrikes.

Russia by then was building up its troop presence along the border with Ukraine, a key source of stress in ties with the US that came up during the Putin-Biden meeting.

Vogue Williams quits drinking after blacking out drunk at lavish showbiz wedding

Mum-of-three, Vogue Williams, has revealed she’s quit drinking after her husband, former Made In Chelsea star, Spencer Matthews, suggested she ‘lay off the booze’

Vogue Williams reckons she’s going tee-total after admitting to an embarrassing incident at a star-studded wedding. The mum-of-three, 39, who is married to former Made In Chelsea star, Spencer Matthews, 37, has previously admitted she’s a ‘binge drinker’, saying: “I don’t really like the taste of alcohol, so if you see me drinking alcohol, I’m drinking it for one reason… to get drunk.”

However, now Vogue says she’s quitting booze for three months after blacking out drunk at Jack Maynard’s nuptials, as she revealed that her husband had suggested she lay off the booze. She shared: “Spencer was drinking, like, little bits and bobs… and then he went tee-total again. And as soon as he decided he wasn’t drinking again, he turned around to me and he was like, ‘Would you not consider it now – with your drinking?'”

Spencer, who shares three children with Vogue, recently stopped his occasional drinking to go alcohol free. It comes after he took a brutal swipe at Vogue last month ahead of her birthday.

Vogue continued on her podcast, Never Live It Down: “When I say I drink f*** all – like, I rarely drink. I don’t even like the taste of it and he’s telling me that I need to lay off the booze. I was like, Spenny, I barely drink – it’s only because you’re not drinking.”

However, while the reality star says she’s determined not to drink for three months, Vogue claims her friends have been less than supportive, adding: “I’m taking like three months off booze and there was no support at all. I told all my friends – they’re like, ‘Urgh, don’t tell us! At least don’t tell us’.”

She continued: “I just kind of feel like it. I don’t want to be hungover. Three seems like a good number and I’m always saying I’m not going to [drink].

“I think nothing good happens after midnight… all those nights you stayed up talking s***? Such a waste of time.”

Vogue’s pledge comes just three months after the Irish presenter hit the headlines after admitting she got so drunk at YouTuber Jack Maynard’s lavish French wedding to £440 million heiress Lily Mackie that she blacked out.

Rocking up at the star-studded nuptials at the five-star Chateau Saint-Martin & Spa with Spencer in May, Vogue confessed she ‘didn’t remember getting into the hotel room’ after a boozy session at the reception’s margarita bar.

Recalling blacking out at the glitzy bash, she said: “It was the nicest wedding I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

“I got excited because there was a margarita bar… and the next day, I woke up and I remembered the last bit of the night but I definitely didn’t remember getting into the hotel room.”

While Vogue put the red-faced incident behind her, she did say that greeting her sober husband the next morning was a tad awkward.

She shared: “I was looking at Spen and I was like [makes despairing noise] – you know when you’re quite nervous. And as I went up to the wedding party, lots of people went, ‘How’s the head?’ and I was like, ‘oh no…'”

Richard Osman left stunned after searching his own book on Amazon

The Thursday Murder Club has been a literary sensation and Richard Osman was left horrified when he searched his book on Amazon and saw the results

Richard Osman was shocked when he searched his book on Amazon(Image: PA)

Richard Osman was left stunned after conducting a search for his bestselling book series on Amazon. The Thursday Murder Club has proved a smash hit with readers since the debut novel launched in 2020.

Its success has prompted streaming behemoth Netflix to produce a film adaptation, featuring stars such as Pierce Brosnan, which is set for release next month. It was this upcoming movie that left the author gobsmacked when he looked up his book on Amazon.

After discovering his popular novel amongst the top search results, the 54-year-old quickly spotted numerous “companion” books related to the film, reports Wales Online. Richard suspects, however, that the writers behind these publications have utilised AI to generate the content.

Speaking on his The Rest is Entertainment podcast, the former Pointless presenter revealed: “Amazon has a real problem with this. If I just give you an example of the sort of thing that happens, if you put Thursday Murder Club into Amazon, firstly Thursday Murder Club turns up first which is great, but there are now about 40 books that are companion books to the movie, that’s what they’ve done”.

“There’s a million things, there’s Solving the Movie Mystery The Thursday Murder Club Review, by Kendra G Candelaria – possibly not real. That will cost you £10.18 and you can get it on Amazon Prime. Two people in the world might think that it’s a real book about the movie.

“It’s not someone who knows anything about the movie, hasn’t been involved, anything like that. If three people buy that then it’s made you some money.”

Richard pointed out several other books providing reviews or analysis of his forthcoming film, suspecting them to “all be AI generated”. Amazon has faced previous difficulties with AI-generated books being sold on the platform.

Publications about King Charles’ health issues and SNP politicians have been taken down from the site before. Amazon stated at the time that it maintained “content guidelines” which all books must follow, regardless of whether they are AI-generated or not.

The company says it has invested “significant time and resources” to making sure its guidelines are followed as has pledged to investigate the titles mentioned by Richard in his podcast.

It also says shoppers can report books they suspect don’t comply with its AI policy online. It says this can be done if they believe a book is “inappropriate for sale” on the platform.

An Amazon spokesman told WalesOnline: “We have content guidelines governing which books can be listed for sale, and we have proactive and reactive methods that help us detect content that violates our guidelines, whether AI-generated or not. We invest significant time and resources to ensure our guidelines are followed, and remove books that do not adhere to those guidelines.

Lou Teasdale and Andy Caroll split explodes as she reveals why she really dumped him

It was reported earlier this week that makeup artist Lou Teasdale and professional footballer Andy Carroll, who had been together since last year, had parted ways

Lou Teasdale dumped Andy Carroll before he made a “desperate” attempt to get her back, it has been claimed. The speculation comes following reports earlier this week that Andy had been the one to end their relationship.

Makeup artist Lou, 41, and professional footballer Andy, 36, began a relationship last year following his split from reality TV star Billi Mucklow, with whom he shares three children. However, it was reported yesterday that the couple have parted ways, with it claimed that Andy broke up with Lou.

Andy, who was said to have been working on the relationship following ‘a series of alcohol-fuelled arguments,’ reportedly grew tired of her “influencer lifestyle”. It’s however since been claimed that Lou dumped him, with it suggested that ending the romance was the “only way to move forward”.

Previously, a source told the Sun: “Andy got sick of Lou’s demands and her influencer lifestyle. She’s always posting on social media and he hates that.” Then describing him as “single,” they added: “He told her it was over this week.”

However, sources are said to have since told the Daily Mail that it was Lou who dumped Andy. It’s claimed that he was so “desperate” to reconcile that he chartered a plane to in Ibiza, where she’s on holiday with family, yesterday.

A source told the outlet: “It was Lou who ended her relationship with Andy, she walked away a few days ago, it was very much her choice to end their romance.” They said she isn’t interested in “pointing the finger” or “blaming” Andy, and had hoped to deal with their break-up privately.

The source said he’s blocked her on Instagram and deleted their photos together. They added that Lou is “very upset” over how the situation has “played out” and the “arguments” between them had been “especially difficult” for her.

“However, Andy wants Lou back and flew to Ibiza via private jet on Tuesday just to find her, even though he has no idea where she’s staying,” the source claimed. They said that Lou is “unimpressed” and just wants to be with her family, adding that she’s “not interested” in attempts at reconcilation.

The source concluded by saying that Lou still has feelings for him though. They told the Daily Mail: “All she has done all year is love and support Andy, her feelings haven’t gone away, but Lou has to protect herself now and ending the relationship is the only way to move forward.”

Although there no longer appear to be photos of Lou on Andy’s page on Instagram, he still appears in posts on her account following the news this week that they have split up. It includes in photos from a previous trip to Ibiza.

Lou, who confirmed this week that she’s back on the island, enjoyed a holiday to the destination with Andy earlier this year. She wrote in one post: “My favourite place with my favourite person.” Andy had replied: “You are a miracle.”

Her birthday tribute to Andy in January is also still visible on her page. Alongside photos of them together and a heart emoji in the caption, she wrote in the post at the time: “Happy birthday to my favourite person I ever met.”
