Emirates Old Trafford’s Hundred men’s competition

Manchester Originals 171-3 (100 balls): Buttler 64* (45), Klaasen 50* (25), Potts 2-39

Northern Superchargers 114 (87 balls): Miller 38 (22), Baker 3-21, Tongue 3-21

By 57 runs, the Manchester Originals won.

Manchester Originals’ 57-run victory over Northern Superchargers at Old Trafford helped Sonny Baker’s hat-trick help them boost their men’s Hundred hopes.

Dawid Malan was bowled by Baker, who was assigned to England’s white-ball squad to face South Africa and Ireland on Friday when he was called up for the game. He returned at the end of the inning with Tom Lawes and Jacob Duffy.

Although Baker’s first and second wickets were 35 balls apart, the 22-year-old seamer’s 3-21 continued a steady upward trend.

His third wicket, a perfect 88-mph yorker to Duffy, made it his seventh tournament dismissal. It ensured that the Superchargers were all out for 114.

After Jos Buttler’s 64 not out of his second fifty innings in as many innings in Originals, the visitors were on a 172-run lead.

He turned his fifty again in honor of his late father, who passed away earlier this month.

Heinrich Klaasen scored 30 runs from the final seven balls, giving Buttler’s innings the foundation of the Originals’ score.

The South Africa international returned to form in a timely manner after only 20 balls and ended up with 50 not out of 25.

Glasner ‘expects’ Eze to play for Palace again

Despite having talks about a move to Tottenham, Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner anticipates Eberechi Eze to play in the team’s first European game.

After the goalless draw against Chelsea, Glasner stated to Sky Sports, “There are many rumors about Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi, but they were completely with this group,” and they have clearly demonstrated this.

Glasner discussed Eze’s future further by saying, “He will come to the Crystal Palace training ground tomorrow, Tuesday off, we take Wednesday, and I anticipate him playing for us against Fredrikstad.”

On Thursday (20:00 BST kick-off), Palace will face Norwegian side Fredrikstad in the Conference League play-off round.

The Eagles won the FA Cup last year to make history’s first-ever European qualifying event, but due to Uefa’s multi-club ownership laws, they were expelled from the Europa League.

According to Uefa’s regulations, Eze and Guehi could still play for another team in the league phase of European competition this year if they qualified for Palace’s Conference League qualifier.

According to Glasner, “Everyone could see the performances against Liverpool [in the Community Shield], and today they were completely in tune with this team and Crystal Palace,” he added.

Tottenham had been in talks with a move to sign 27-year-old Eze since the start of the week, according to BBC Sport, who reported on Saturday.

The England international’s contract includes an initial sum of $ 60 million plus an additional $ 8 million in add-ons, and an expired release clause.

Tottenham reportedly is negotiating an offer that is only slightly below the total release date.

Talks between Palace and Premier League champions Liverpool are ongoing, and it’s similar to the case with England’s center-back Guehi.

Steve Parish, the club’s chairman, stated last week that the Eagles would sell their captain this summer to prevent losing him to the end of his contract.
