Primark is stocking a ‘statement’ bag that’s ‘easy to wear’ and ‘looks designer.’ Known for its affordable clothing and accessories, the retailer could have another hit on its hands with the £16 style.

The Mixed Metal Studded Tote wowed fashion influencer Miya Kalith during a recent trip to Primark. Posting on TikTok as @miyakalith, she showcased her favourite picks from the retailer’s new range, which included the studded tote. The bag comes in a trendy chocolate brown tone, perfect for autumn, and has studs that add a touch of glamour.

According to Primark, the style is designed to ‘add some sparkle to your everyday.’ The product description explains: “In a rich chocolate brown with a soft, suede-like finish, it’s covered in a mix of gold-tone and silver-tone studs for a statement look.

“The slouchy shape makes it easy to wear, while the wide single strap sits comfortably on your shoulder. Big enough for your essentials (and then some), it’s a go-to for days when you want style and practicality in one.”

Praising the bags to her 10,000 followers, @miyakalith wrote: “Primark bags are giving designers.” Her caption added: “All are under £20. Sorry but these are giving high vibes.”

The Mixed Metal Studded Tote also proved popular when it was showcased in another TikTok video by Olivia Brittany Grace, who posts online as @oliviabrittany. In her video, Olivia showcased the £16 bag alongside its smaller lookalike, an £11 Studded Rectangular Shoulder Bag.

The product description for the shoulder bag says: “Carry a touch of attitude with this chocolate brown rectangular shoulder bag crafted from soft faux suede. Its long, narrow shape is perfect for slipping under your arm or wearing with the adjustable shoulder strap.

“The front is decorated with a mix of gold and silver-toned studs in various sizes, adding texture and interest. A secure zip top closure keeps your essentials safe, while gold-toned hardware adds a polished finish. Stylish yet practical, this bag is ready to upgrade your everyday look with a subtle hint of sparkle.”

Lionel Messi scores as Inter Miami wins late against LA Galaxy

Lionel Messi returned from injury as a reserve and scored in the 84th minute to lead Inter Miami to a 3-1 victory over the defending Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup champions, Los Angeles Galaxy.

The iconic 38-year-old Argentinian striker was back on the field on Saturday for Miami after suffering what Inter coach Javier Mascherano had called a “minor muscle injury” – an apparent hamstring strain – in Inter’s Leagues Cup victory over Mexican side Necaxa on August 2.

“It had been something very small,” Mascherano said of his injury after the match. “The three training sessions we had were good. The important thing is that the match ended. As the minutes went by, I saw him better. We have to see how he feels tomorrow.”

Eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi, who missed a Leagues Cup win over Pumas UNAM and last weekend’s MLS loss at Orlando City, was on the bench as a reserve before entering in the second half, replacing Telasco Segovia.

“We had planned the match to give minutes to Leo [Messi]. The idea was to give him 45 minutes so that he can find sensations,” Mascherano said. “I didn’t see him after the game. Tomorrow, we’ll see what feelings he had.

“He’s an extraordinary player. I saw that he was clearly not 100 percent comfortable, but as the minutes went by, he was loosening up more and more. We will have to see how he ended with the fatigue.”

Jordi Alba scored for Miami in the 43rd minute, but Joseph Paintsil equalised for the Galaxy in the 59th minute.

Messi dominates late

Messi’s brilliant goal six minutes from full-time – a thunderous left foot strike fired from the edge of the penalty area that caromed off the bottom corner of the net – restored the lead for Miami.

He then put the victory beyond doubt with a sensational 89th-minute assist to teammate Luis Suarez, who put the home side ahead 3-1.

Messi, the reigning MLS Most Valuable Player, has 19 goals and 10 assists in 19 MLS appearances for Miami this season.

He also has the Herons into the quarterfinals of the Leagues Cup, which they won in 2023, just after Messi’s arrival. Miami will play the Tigres in a Cup quarterfinal on Wednesday.

“He wants to play every single game,” Mascherano said. “You have to understand why Leo is Leo. He always wants to be on the pitch. He’s happy there. Sometimes, we try to explain him that we have to go slowly, but when he feels good, he knows himself like no one. In the end, we tried to give him some minutes today to start having good feelings for Wednesday.”

Inter Miami rank fourth in the MLS Eastern Conference, six points behind MLS leaders Philadelphia, but with three matches in hand.

Fired up MacIntyre retains BMW Championship lead

BMW Championship – round three leaderboard

-16 R MacIntyre (Sco); -12 S Scheffler (US); -10 L Aberg (Swe); -8 S Burns (US), H Hall (Eng)

Selected others: -7 T Fleetwood (Eng); -6 V Hovland (Nor); -3 R McIlroy (NI); +1 M Fitzpatrick (Eng); +2 J Thomas (US); +4 S Lowry (Ire)

Robert MacIntyre will take a four-shot lead into the final day of the BMW Championship in Maryland after keeping world number one Scottie Scheffler at bay at Caves Valley.

While the Scot’s putting and imperious iron play helped him construct a five-stroke advantage over the first two days, he maintained a healthy advantage on Saturday with some par saves before dropping in a 41-foot birdie on the 18th to sign for a two-under 68.

MacIntyre, who appeared to relish the pressure of playing alongside American Scheffler, who carded a 67 and at one stage was within three, made a scrambling par after playing out of trees and bushes near the fifth green.

And he then shushed a fan on the 14th, in a precursor of what may follow in next month’s Ryder Cup, when he rolled in a difficult par putt immediately after Scheffler had made a birdie on the same hole.

“We’re in America, playing against their sweetheart Scottie, who I get on well with, he’s a great guy,” MacIntyre said.

He added: “I don’t know if anyone was thrown out, but there was plenty of people to talk to. He [a spectator] was just jeering. He was just shouting I missed it, he’s pushed it. Pushed it right in the middle of the hole, I guess.”

It proved compelling viewing, with both set to go out again on Sunday in the second event of three that make up the FedEx Cup play-offs.

Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg is six shots adrift of MacIntrye at 10 under overall after a two-under 68, while Sam Burns and Harry Hall both went round in 67 to sit at eight under.

Englishman Hall’s performance means he is projected to sit inside the top 30 in the season-long standings after this tournament and advance to next week’s event in Atlanta.

Maverick McNealy and Tommy Fleetwood are another shot back after rounds of 69.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy began his round with a double bogey and could only manage a one-over-par 71 to leave him in a tie for 14th at three under.

Aside from the duel between MacIntyre and Scheffler, the highlight of the day arrived when American Akshay Bhatia, battling for one of the last spots in Atlanta, made a hole in one on the par-three 17th hole with a five-iron.

“When that golf ball goes in, it was the craziest thing in the world,” said Bhatia, who won a new car in the process.
