Sir Tom Jones has delivered another stunning performance, just weeks after being forced to cancel a gig. The legendary singer left audiences in tears whilst belting out his catalogue of beloved hits.

Festival-goers at Camp Bestival in Dorset described the Welsh headliner’s voice as ‘phenomenal’ and ‘incredible’ as he brought the curtain down on the 2025 festival. The triumphant show comes just weeks after Jones fell poorly and was forced to pull out of a German concert.

On July 22 the Welsh crooner announced on social media that he wouldn’t be able to take to the stage in the German city of Bremen due to illness. It comes after pictures emerged of inside Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash’s luxurious £30k family holiday at ‘second home’.

However, he bounced back with a cracking performance in Dundee at the Discovery Festival, and Cardiff is set to welcome him later this month at Cardiff Castle.

Camp Bestival organisers revealed that “there wasn’t a dry eye in the house” as Sir Tom took to the stage on the final evening of the event. They commented: “The incredible @realsirtomjones closed the Castle Stage last night, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. What a legend. Thank you Sir Tom for a very memorable end to the weekend,” reports Wales Online.

Tom is scheduled to appear at Cardiff Castle on August 20 and August 21. The duo of Cardiff Castle concerts arrive just two years after Tom graced the same venue with three performances.

During his visit, he addressed the audience saying: “I would like to say it feels great to be home. Oh yes!” before diving into songs from his 2021 album Surrounded By Time and timeless hits like It’s Not Unusual and What’s New Pussycat?

Last month, Tom had to cancel his gig after falling ill. He shared in a statement: “Hello to all the fans in Bremen. Unfortunately, I must postpone my show this evening, as I’ve contracted an upper respiratory infection that needs treatment and rest.

“I know this is really disappointing and will cause inconvenience to you all, and I’m very sorry about that. But the show will now go ahead on Monday 28th July, so I look forward to seeing you then. All tickets will remain valid for the re-scheduled date. Until then, thank you for your understanding. Love, Tom.”

Oasis mania has been reaching new heights with each gig from their comeback tour and last night’s sold-out show in Murrayfield was no different. Liam and Noel Gallagher took to the stage for the first of three shows in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Up to 70,000 fans made their way to Scotland’s home of rugby for eagerly-anticipated two-hour show, featuring 23 songs from the duo’s impressive discography. During the show, a pair of fans got engaged while the hit song Slide Away was being performed.

In a clip shared on social media, Liam, 52, can be seen on stage crooning away to the 1994 classic before the camera pans to the audience. While he sings the lyrics “Now that you’re mine”, a man gets down on one knee and asks a woman to marry him.

The lady in question is wearing and Oasis t-shirt and a bucket hat as she excitedly says yes to the proposal as he pops the ring on her finger and they kiss in the adorable moment. It comes after Paul Weller reveals the unusual reason he refuses to watch Oasis concerts.

Fans flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts as the bride-to-be herself expressed: “Thank you @gigsinscotland for filming and sharing our special moment.”

Somebody else gushed: “Aww stop it, that’s so cute,” while another social media user commented: “Imagine Oasis performing at your proposal.” Someone else wrote on Instagram: “Love this! They’ll get to watch this back forever now.”

Oasis will continue their shows in Edinburgh tonight (Saturday 9 August) and Tuesday (12 August) before heading to Ireland to play two shows at Croke Park in Dublin on 16 and 17 August.

Liam and Noel, 58, will then travel to Canada and America for shows in Toronto, Chicago, LA and Mexico City before coming back to London for two more big gigs at Wembley towards the end of September.

The brothers will follow up their action-packed schedule with Asia, Australia and South America before ending their comeback tour on 23 November in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Oasis Live’ 25 Tour began on 4 July at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff before they headed to their native Manchester with five shows at Heaton Park. They then did five shows in London’s Wembley’s Stadium before their current dates in Scotland.

The brothers announced their comeback tour in August 2024, with them sharing the news on social media and saying: “This is it, this is happening. The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

This is the first time Liam and Noel have performed together in 15 years, following their highly-publicised fall-out which led to them icing each other out of their lives.

Israeli forces kill 21 aid seekers as Gaza starvation death toll rises

Israeli attacks have killed at least 39 people, including 21 seeking humanitarian aid and 11 who starved to death, over 24 hours in Gaza, Palestinian health authorities say.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health said on Saturday that the total number of malnutrition deaths has reached 212, including 98 children, since Israel launched its war on Gaza in October 2023.

Most of the deaths have occurred in recent weeks as Israel continues to impose severe restrictions on aid supplies entering Gaza after partially lifting a total blockade in late May.

Mohammed Abu Salmiya, the director of al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza, told Al Jazeera that famine continues to pose a serious risk “especially among children and the elderly”.

“Malnutrition among children leads to decreased immunity and may lead to death,” he said.

On Friday, the World Food Programme (WFP) called on Israel to allow the delivery of at least 100 aid trucks per day to Gaza, noting that only 60 of its aid truck drivers have been vetted and approved by the Israeli military to date.

The 100 trucks per day the organisation called for is a fraction of the 600 per day other United Nations agencies and Gaza authorities have said are needed to meet the basic needs of Gaza residents.

“Since July 27, 266 WFP trucks arriving at crossing points were turned back, 31 percent of which had initially been approved,” the agency’s latest report said.

“Convoy movements are frequently hampered by last-minute changes by Israeli authorities, and heavy insecurity due to military activities along convoy routes.”

In its latest statement on Saturday, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, noted that it has not been allowed to bring any humanitarian aid into Gaza, including food and medicine, for more than five months, depriving hungry and ailing Palestinians of what they need to survive.

UNRWA has been calling on Israel to lift its siege on Gaza, saying the ongoing airdrops of humanitarian aid from several countries “are very expensive and ineffective” at reaching those urgently in need.

The warnings come as Israeli forces continued to escalate their attacks across the territory. Six people were killed by Israeli soldiers while waiting for aid near the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza, medical sources told Al Jazeera.

Two other Palestinians were also killed and transported to the Nasser Medical Complex from a GHF aid distribution site in the southern part of the territory.

One woman was killed and another person was wounded in an Israeli air strike targeting an apartment in Khan Younis in the south.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry’s latest count, at least 39 people have been killed in 24 hours.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 61,369 Palestinians in Gaza and wounded 152,850. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 were taken captive.

‘No one and nowhere is safe’

As the death toll continues to soar, international condemnation of Israel’s conduct in the war is growing, with several countries raising alarm over Israel’s plans to seize Gaza City in an operation that could forcibly displace hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to concentration zones in southern Gaza.

A rare emergency UN Security Council meeting has been scheduled on Sunday to address the plan approved by Israel’s security cabinet this week.

In Gaza City, residents were defiant, promising not to leave in the event of a new Israeli ground offensive.

Umm Imran told Al Jazeera that there was nowhere safe in Gaza.

“They say go south, go to al-Mawasi, but there is nowhere safe any more – north, south, east or west. No one and nowhere is safe. We will stay here.”

Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, said residents were unable to sleep on Friday night after the announcement by Israel.

“People are wondering what’s going to happen to them, what’s going to be left of Gaza if Israel moves on with its approved plan to occupy the entire Gaza Strip, starting with Gaza City,” he said.

The Israeli plan has also been condemned by the foreign ministers of Australia, Germany, Italy, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

In a joint statement on Saturday, the diplomats warned that Israel’s plan will “aggravate the catastrophic humanitarian situation, endanger the lives of the hostages, and further risk the mass displacement of civilians”.

“Any attempts at annexation or of settlement extension violate international law.”

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also urged Muslim nations to work in unison to oppose Israel’s plan.

Speaking at a joint news conference in El Alamein with his Egyptian counterpart after meeting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Fidan said members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation had been called to an emergency meeting to tackle the crisis.

Lioness star Ella Toone announces engagement with snaps of romantic proposal

England Lioness star Ella Toone is officially engaged, with the star taking to her Instagram to share snaps from the romantic proposal. Toone, 25, was one of the Lionesses’ standout players at the Euros, which culminated in Sarina Wiegman’s side beating Spain on penalties.

And now, she’s got even more to celebrate with her recent engagement to Joe Bunney after three years of dating. The footballer, who got engaged in Ibiza, wrote in her caption: “Forever … 04/08/25.”

She shared snaps of the special moment, which saw her new fiancé getting down on one knee to propose. He proposed in front of the ocean and set up a heart-shaped floral arch with the words ‘Will you marry me?’ lit up in the middle.

Ella looked stunning in a knitted cream dress while her fiancé rocked a white shirt and linen pants for the special moment. There was also a bench and small table set up for their celebratory drinks. There was also a tray filled with fruits and snacks so the couple could enjoy the view.

The couple were joined by Joe’s son Arlo, four, who was holding a red rose and seemed over the moon at the engagement. Ella’s celebrity friends rushed to the comment section to congratulate the couple.

Ella’s fiancé is a non-league footballer who plays for Stalybridge Celtic and has a son from a previous relationship. He’s a huge Manchester City fan, who are rivals to Ella’s squad at Manchester United.

The engagement comes after Ella and her England team clinched the Euro Cup for the second time in a row – and their devoted partners were there cheering the women on. And many went on to praise their partners in emotional tributes after England beat Spain during a tense penalty shootout.

Joe Bunney took to Instagram with a series of snaps from the final and afterparty. One snap showed him beaming alongside Ella as they held the Euro Cup, and another showed him with the footballer shortly after the win.

In an Instagram post, he wrote the caption: “BACK 2 BACK!.. This team just continues to produce! @lionesses.”

And in a video of Ella on his Instagram page, he sweetly said: “Words don’t describe how proud I am of you.”

Hailey Bieber has been snapped on a rare date night with her troubled musician husband Justin.

Hailey showed off her slender frame in a fitted black dress as she enjoyed a date night with her husband Justin Bieber. The 28 year old mum of one completed her look with a pair of matching backless heels.

The couple enjoyed their date night while out in Santa Monica at the popular celebrity hang out, Giorgio Baldi. It comes after Taylor Swift sparks engagement rumours as fans spot Travis Kelce’s lock screen.

The date night for the couple, who married in 2018, comes shortly before the pair are due to mark a big milestone as their son Jack Blues turns one later this month.

Meanwhile, Justin cut a more casual appearance in a pair of oversized jeans, a blue hoodie under a black leather jacket. He pair his look with a cream coloured beanie and a pair of slim sunglasses.

Making a sweet gesture towards his wife, Justin was seen holding open the door for her amid waiting photographers.

Despite their show of unity, it was only two months ago that reports surfaced claiming that the couple were struggling in their marriage.

It has been claimed that the singer’s questionable social media posts and worrying appearance over recent weeks has proved a lot to handle for Hailey.

A source told US Weekly: “Justin’s been a hard person to deal with recently because of what he’s going through. Hailey is the stable parent and the one keeping their family together.”

They added: “It’s been really hard on her.” A second source agreed, telling the publication: “Justin’s going through a difficult time, and Hailey is giving him room to get himself back on track. He’s doing his best, but it’s tough.”

Back in June, it looked as though Justin was making a slight at his wife judging by his Instagram post. At the time he wrote: “Tired of transactional relationships. If I have to do something to be loved, That’s not love.”

And fans were quick to comment. One person said: “All his posts and captions seem like personal attacks to Hailey how is this woman still with him, she continuously gets publicly embarrassed by her own husband.”

And on the same day, Hailey hinted that she was attending therapy, which led many to assume that she needed professional help with her marriage.

The unedited version of the post read: “lemon drop martinis and therapy all summer long.” But she quickly changed it to: “lemon drop martinis all summer long”. This was accompanied by a string of summer emojis.

However, although it has been speculated that their marriage is in trouble, the insider told the publication that the subject of divorce has never been raised.

The source said: “They don’t talk about divorce. Faith is a big part of their life. They believe they are soulmates and meant for each other.”

A separate source added: “They’ll do anything to make it work.”
