Brian Johnson, better known as the Liver King, made headlines for documenting his extreme lifestyle online

A social media influencer known as ‘Liver King’ amassed millions of followers as he promoted an extreme lifestyle that included consuming raw meat (even testicles) and rejecting the modern comforts we’ve grown used to.

Brian Johnson’s commitment to the ‘ancestral’ way of life won him a dedicated fan base, with many claiming miraculous health improvements from adopting this simpler lifestyle. However, a public scandal led to a loss of faith in the star.

Despite being repeatedly questioned in numerous interviews about potential steroid use to achieve his muscular physique, Brian insisted it was purely down to the lifestyle and supplements he advocated. But a leaked email exposed his monthly expenditure of around $11,000 on performance-enhancing drugs, shattering the trust between him and his followers.

Brian’s swift ascent to social media stardom and subsequent steroid scandal is the focus of a new Netflix documentary out this week. Untold: The Liver King, releasing tomorrow (May 13), traces the star’s journey and current life, offering a peek into the real-life dynamics of the Johnson family.

In one scene, his wife Barbara recounts how their son broke his leg but was unfamiliar with pain medication for relief. In another unforgettable moment, the entire family ventures out to hunt and kill a bull, before rushing over barefoot to consume it raw, reports Surrey Live.

The Liver King has explored many different business avenues over his life, way before he built his social media empire.

Beyond viral content, he and his wife teamed up in the cosmetic realm to kickstart Krowa Beauty, an animal-based beauty brand. He has also outlined plans to establish a series of wellness retreats in the future, all in a ranch-like setting.

As per his own claims in September 2023, Brian posits his net worth at a staggering $310m. He shared the figure on Instagram, sharing that he calculated it by his “assets minus debts”, broadly defining his assets as cash, real estate, equities and content.

In musing on his website about the idea of net worth, Liver King wrote:: “We can’t have true net worth without self-worth, and a man’s ultimate symbol of status is his family. As such, net worth is created by compounding interest… internal value (self worth).”

Inside Nicola Peltz’s plans for Brooklyn amid bitter feud with David and Victoria Beckham

David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly ‘done’ with billionaire heiress, Nicola Peltz, who married their oldest child, Brooklyn, three years ago at a £3m wedding in Florida

Billionaire heiress, Nicola Peltz, has big plans for her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, according to reports. The couple, who married three years ago in a lavish £3 million bash in Florida, are no strangers to courting publicity, sharing loved-up snaps of themselves on social media, making the most of their famous families’ influence.

They are now hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons after swerving David Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday celebrations last weekend – despite being in the UK – with a insider suggesting Nicola was ‘controlling’ her husband, leaving his dad, David, “really hurt”. Indeed, things have got so bad, that the former footballer and his wife, Victoria, are reportedly “done” with their daughter-in-law.

The former footballer, who turns 50 in May, was joined by his youngest children Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13 and their partners Jackie Apostel, 29, and Kim Turnbull, 25 - with eldest son Brooklyn, 26, notably absent

Just a few months after they tied the knot, Nicola and Brooklyn posed up a storm in an ice cream van emblazoned with a logo from fast food chain, Wendy’s, which is owned by Nicola’s businessman father, Nelson Peltz. It was one of the very first Beckham-Peltz joint endorsements – and it’s likely there will be many more to come.

A source close to the family told the Mail that actress, Nicola, is “very much making the most” of her husband’s name, saying: “Nicola is very much making the most of the Beckham name. She might hate David and Victoria, but she doesn’t half like their surname.”

Since getting hitched, Nicola’s stock has soared, bagging a lucrative deal with Pepe Jeans, appearances in Vogue magazine as well as directing her first film, Lola.

Claiming she wouldn’t be getting the attention if Brooklyn wasn’t always by her side, the source said: “They are always together – you can’t help but think it’s Nicola who is making sure this happens. She might be very rich, but she wouldn’t be getting any of the attention if it wasn’t for her husband and his family.”

The Beckhams, who are yet to speak out on their firstborn’s no-show at David’s birthday, allegedly think “Nicola is a bit of a horror” but concede “she isn’t going anywhere soon”.

They are also reportedly ’embarrassed’ by the direction she is said to be steering their son career-wise. The self-confessed “nutter in the kitchen” has tried his hand at multiple ventures since working in a French cafe in Kensington as a teenager.

After joining – then leaving – photography school, he then decided to pursue a career in cooking, posting a number of cringeworthy videos, proudly telling his followers how to make a jacket potato and beans.

Claiming Nicola – who has been defended by pals, saying she’s just ‘protecting’ Brooklyn from his parents – was the ‘brains’ behind the operation, the insider said: “It made money and Nicola would have been encouraging him.”

Indeed, Brooklyn praised his wife for helping him come up with his latest plan to launch his Cloud hot sauce. Taking to Instagram, gushing about his bride, he said Nicola mused one evening ‘while they were sharing a bottle of wine in the kitchen’: “You like hot sauce and you like design – why don’t you make a hot sauce?”

Claiming David and Victoria are “embarrassed” by the whole ‘nepo baby’ tag, the source said: “There doesn’t seem much of a desire to get a proper career. The Beckhams hate the whole “nepo” label… this recent stuff is a bit embarrassing.”

Brooklyn is yet to comment on the fierce feud within the family that shows no signs of abating. He didn’t comment on David’s fishing trip post in which the England star, joined by other sons Romeo and Cruz, told ‘Buster’ how much he missed him.

There are reports that Brooklyn and Romeo are at loggerheads over Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, who was romantically linked to Brooklyn back in 2016.

And regarding Nicola, it seems her plans for her husband are just getting started, with the insider concluding: “Nicola loves having Brooklyn at her side and she loves him very much. But he is also very useful.”

The Mirror has contacted reps for David, Victoria, Brooklyn and Nicola for comment.

Chris McCausland admits real reason he couldn’t attend BAFTAs after emotional win

Strictly Come Dancing picked up an award at the 2025 TV BAFTAs thanks to a public vote after being snubbed in other categories but Chris McCausland was noticeable by his absence

Winner Chris McCausland shared why he didn’t attend the BAFTAs – and it was nothing to do with being convinced Gavin & Stacey would win!

The drama surrounding Strictly Come Dancing did not appear to put off the public who voted Dianne Buswell and Chris’ waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone as the most memorable moment in TV. But he wasn’t there to pick up the award, leaving his partner to do the honours.

Dianne was at the ceremony to pick up the gong – which recognised a special dance routine with her celebrity partner, blind comedian Chris.

The winning couple’s “blackout” dance, which went viral on social media, saw him place his hands over her eyes as the room faded to black, mimicking his everyday experience.

When the lights returned, the 47-year-old was spinning around with Dianne on his shoulders as pyrotechnics flared in the background.

On stage last night, she gushed: “In one minute and 30 seconds of a dance, I feel like this told such a story. A story of hope, determination, resilience and vulnerability. This moment meant so much to the both of us, so I’m just so thrilled that we have this.”

They won for their incredible waltz

Chris wasn’t there for his big moment and explained why. He was thrilled to take home the trophy – and teased that the pair could fall out if they both don’t get one! Taking to Instagram, he told his followers why we was absent and couldn’t accept the BAFTA.

He said in a video: “We only went and won a BAFTA! I’m very proud of her representing the two of us. Her speech was amazing. I’m actually in Warrington, I’ve had two shows here today and these are the shows I cancelled to do Strictly…. I couldn’t exactly cancel a second time to go to the BAFTAs, could I?

“And to be honest I thought Gavin & Stacey could win! Thank you so much for voting. I just hope we get two of them or me and Dianne are going to fall out trying to share that thing aren’t we!” The clip, filmed in the theatre, ended with cheers from the team.

The moment won over scenes that aired on The Traitors, Rivals, Bridgerton, Gavin and Stacey and Mr Bates vs The Post Office. Strictly is normally up for the Best Entertainment Programme but has been snubbed this year for the first time ever in the show’s history.

Instead, the Entertainment Programme is made up of nominees The 1% Club (ITV1), Michael McIntyre’s Big Show ( BBC One), Taskmaster ( Channel 4 ) and Would I Lie To You? (BBC One).

Last year, Amanda Abbington, 51, alleged she was subjected to “inappropriate, mean, nasty bullying” in a “toxic environment” while she was a contestant on Strictly in 2023. The BBC upheld “some, but not all” of the allegations made by Amanda about her dance partner Giovanni Pernice – who has always denied the accusations.

The Bafta TV Awards show began in Traitors style with Alan Cumming wearing the well-known dark cloak in the Scottish Highlands castle. Cumming, who described himself as the “devilishly handsome” host of the US Traitors, was summoned to the Traitor turret and asked to host the Bafta TV Awards this year.

Alcaraz, Zverev March Into Italian Open Last 16

Carlos Alcaraz joined reigning Italian Open champion Alexander Zverev in the last 16 in Rome after seeing off Laslo Djere 7-6 (7/2), 6-2 on centre court on Sunday.

Four-time Grand Slam champion Alcaraz reached the fourth round at the Foro Italico for the first time after a battle with spirited Djere.

In the next round, Alcaraz will face Karen Khachanov who knocked out Italian wild card entrant Francesco Passaro 6-3, 6-0.

Alcaraz was playing in his second match since suffering a thigh injury in his Barcelona Open final defeat by Holger Rune last month.

And the Spaniard was not at his best against Djere whose three career tournament wins have all come on clay, his most recent title in March, at the Chile Open in Santiago.

The 22-year-old was broken twice in the first set which looked like going either way until he took control in the eventual tie-break, before sweeping Djere aside in the second.

“I just thought that I had to stay there mentally strong, waiting for my chances because I was playing great,” said Alcaraz.

“I was playing great, moving, hitting the ball. It was just a few mistakes that I made.”

Zverev meanwhile, barely broke a sweat against Lithuanian qualifier Vilius Gaubas, easing to a 6-4, 6-0 win to set up a last-16 clash with France’s Arthur Fils.

The world number two took one hour and 26 minutes to see off Gaubas, suggesting that the burn-out he said he was suffering earlier in the year might be behind him.

Zverev is hoping a good defence of his Rome crown will set him up to go one better than last year at the French Open and be crowned champion.

But he will face a much tougher test against Fils, who beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, than the one put up by Gaubas.

It was a good day for French players in the men’s tournament with Fils’ win and world number 83 Corentin Moutet shocking Holger Rune 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 (7/4) to claim his first ever win over a top-10 player and line up fifth seed Jack Draper in the next round.

Daniil Medvedev will face home hope Lorenzo Musetti after making no mistake against Alexei Popyrin, winning 6-4, 6-1.

Sabalenka through

Aryna Sabalenka came through a tough match with former Australian Open winner Sofia Kenin to set up a clash with Marta Kostyuk, who beat Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-2.

World number one Sabalenka has reached the final of her last four tournaments, winning in both Miami and Madrid, and is now hot favourite at the Foro Italico even after Sunday’s below-par display.

Last year’s losing finalist was not at the races in the first set, consistently misplacing her backhands before appearing to complain about the surface on centre court.

“I was completely off, and I’m really glad I was able to cool myself down and… start focusing on the game and the right things,” Sabalenka told reporters.

Belarusian Sabalenka has a great opportunity to claim her third 1000 series crown of the season, after three-time winner Iga Swiatek was dumped out by Danielle Collins on Saturday.

“She’s facing really tough challenges I believe, on and off the court,” added Sabalenka of Swiatek.

“Maybe needs some time off and then she’s going to get back on top of her game because the level is there. She’s a champion.”

One of Sabalenka’s key rivals for the women’s title, Coco Gauff, cruised past Magda Linette in straight sets 7-5, 6-3 and will be expected to see off Emma Raducanu in the next round.

Robson Green gives ultra-rare insight into relationship with son Taylor

Taking on a new sinister role for Paramount+ in The Game, Robson Green had a great time filming for the thriller in Spain. His son, Taylor, 25, was even able to join him.

Robson Green and Jason Watkins flew to Spain to film for the new thriller

Robson Green flew abroad for his latest project. But amid his hectic filming schedule, he managed to find some downtime with his son, Taylor, 25.

The actor, 60, it portraying a mysterious newcomer in Paramount’s new thriller The Game alongside Sunetra Sarker and his former Being Human co-star, Jason Watkins.

Here, Jason plays Huw, a retired detective still tormented by the case he never cracked – the Ripton Stalker. Years earlier, the serial killer narrowly evaded capture, leaving Huw with nothing but the memory of their voice – and a haunting sense of failure.

Despite the series’ dark subject matter, the shoot itself was anything but grim. Filming in Spain felt like a summer adventure for the cast, with daily group drives to set and plenty of off-camera laughs.

“It felt like going to summer school,” Sunetra says, “We were living like students.” A lively WhatsApp group kept the fun going. Robson Green jokes: “I’m glad you don’t have eyes on it!”

The Basque Country provided another major perk: incredible food. “Many a Spanish meal was had in the Basque Country,” Robson says, “I was certainly well looked after.”

He even got to share the experience with Taylor, who visited him during filming. “We spent time in San Sebastian and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao,” he says, “He’s a history nut so he loved it!”

Robson shares Taylor with his ex-wife Vanya Seager, to whom he was married from 2001 to 2013. And though Taylor is rarely seen in the public eye, Robson has often said they share an “extremely close” bond.

More than anything, Robson was thrilled to work with Jason again. When his agent mentioned Jason’s involvement, he signed up immediately for The Game.

“I love reconnecting with people I’ve worked with before,” Robson says, “Watching their careers and journeys from afar, it’s a joy.” Even the demanding schedule – which initially worried Robson – turned out to be a blessing. “We shot a huge showdown with Jason in just half a day,” Robson says, “What I thought would be stressful was actually joyous.”

In the original script, Huw was a keen runner – but Jason quickly vetoed that. “I can’t really run anymore because of my attempts at professional football as a teenager,” he says.

“My knees aren’t what they should be. So I made it quite clear early on that I wouldn’t be running, only cycling and playing golf.” Robson still can’t get over his pal’s skills, grinning: “He’s got a very good swing!”

Sunetra Sarker, on the other hand, plays Huw’s long-suffering wife Alice – and she couldn’t be more different from her on-screen character. “Alice was the voice of reason,” she says, “It’s very different from the real Sunetra.”

Alice and Huw start the series close, but his obsession with Patrick drives a wedge between them. It’s not the first time Huw’s struggled. “He was sectioned for a couple of weeks,” Sunetra says, “They’ve rebuilt things but his obsession triggers her trauma too.”

Sunetra loved working with Jason and Robson – and her mum was impressed too. “She couldn’t believe I was working with Robson Green,” she says.

Both actors are veterans with long careers filled with iconic roles, from Touching Evil and Wire in the Blood for Robson to The Crown and Line of Duty for Jason.

Behind the scenes, Sunetra and Jason built up Alice and Huw’s bond by staying in character, even off camera. “They’ve got these pet names and in-jokes,” she says.

“Jason and I did the same whenever we could.” Jason adds: “But the more Huw tries to convince Alice he’s right about Patrick, the more insane he seems. He wants peace in his retirement but he can’t let this case go.”
