‘Not one of them will want to go’ – Man Utd fly to Asia on post-season tour

After overcoming Aston Villa 2-0 on Sunday, Manchester United’s players are still unbeaten for the season.

They were flying to Malaysia right away after their final Premier League game at Old Trafford, which will be followed by a game against the Hong Kong national side on Friday.

Bruno Fernandes, the captain, Casemiro, the veteran midfielder Casemiro, and Alejandro Garnacho, the manager, are just a few of the 32 players on the trip.

Garnacho, 20, is reportedly being told he can find a new club this summer after being dropped from Sunday’s match against Villa.

The team finished 15th overall, with 42 points, in the league after winning at Villa, which is just 11th overall this year for United, which is considered to be their worst campaign since 1973-74 when the club was relegated.

They lost to Tottenham 1-0 in the Europa League final, which came to an end, and they lost to them in the Champions League.

Who will make the trip during the off-season?

The majority of the first team has traveled, including Netherlands international team-mate Joshua Zirkzee and defender Matthijs de Ligt, who has been sidelined for a while with a hamstring injury and has missed the last four games with injuries.

Jonny Evans, a veteran defender who is leaving the team at the end of the season, and Andre Onana and Luke Shaw, both of whom missed Sunday’s game, are included.

Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen have confirmed their absences, both for “personal reasons.”

Wessair Mazraoui and Leny Yoro both have injuries, and Argentina defender Lisandro Martinez has an anterior cruciate ligament injury that prevented him from playing.

Amorim will want to assess the composition of his squad before making a decision about the next season’s lineup. There are also many inexperienced players.

The trip is being made by Jaydan Kamason, Godwill Kukonki, Tyler Fletcher, Sekou Kone, and Jack Moorhouse because they have been catching the attention of young people this year.

What has the travel’s outcome been?

On May 28th, The Red Devils travel to Hong Kong for a game against ASEAN All Stars in Kuala Lumpur.

Onana, Harry Maguire, and Diogo Dalot will be in Mumbai, India on Thursday, May 29 for a meet and greet, according to one of United’s sponsors, Apollo Tyres.

The following week, United’s international players will team up with their respective national teams.

Fernandes and Dalot will most likely play for Portugal in their Nations League semifinal match against Germany on June 4 after United’s final game, which will take place on June 4.

United’s pre-season kicks off with a match against Leeds United in Sweden on July 19 before flying to the US between July 26 and August 3 as part of the Premier League’s pre-season campaign.

On August 9th, they finally host Fiorentina.

Amorim has previously defended the post-season trip, calling it a “small sacrifice” that allows the club to “make contact with our fans around the world.”

After the performances we’ve given, defender Maguire has stated: “We don’t have any right to argue against it,” and it is the club’s decision.

We as players must accept responsibility for the Premier League position and the money we’ve made from that finish, which is nowhere near good enough.

We don’t have a right to criticize the club for trying to raise money, which will likely help us with signings next season.

United will be without European football for the second time since 1990, leaving a £100 million hole in the club’s finances as a result of their defeat at Bilbao.

In the second round of redundancies since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s purchase of the club last year, United announced last week that they would terminate some staff members at their Carrington training facility.

United has lost more than £370 million over the past five years as a result of the latest cuts, which come in the face of a grim financial environment.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United traveled to Australia for a post-season friendly last year, which BBC pundit Alan Shearer described as “madness.”

With all three European club competitions expanding this year and Fifa’s revamped Club World Cup debuting in the US next month, the increased workload on elite players has been subject to a lot of discussion this season.

Michael Brown, a former Manchester City defender, stated on the BBC Radio 5 Live podcast: “At the end of the season, you walk around the pitch and feel like I’m finished. I want to go and put my feet up and have the mental rest before the international games.” The break is exciting to you.

I get why they want to do it financially, but it shouldn’t be.

Clayton wins first Euro Tour title in two years

Jenny Segers/PDC Europe

In the Dutch Darts Championship final, Jonny Clayton defeated Niko Springer of Germany to earn his third European Tour victory.

With an 8-6 victory over Springer, Clayton won his first European Tour event since winning the Austrian Open two years ago. He is currently ranked 93rd in the world.

Before falling to Luke Humphries 7-5, Clayton had already defeated Ross Smith and Danny Noppert earlier in the day.

In the final of the previous year’s Dutch Darts Championship, the 50-year-old Welshman lost to Northern Ireland’s Josh Rock.

Following his success in Rosmalen, Clayton, who has become the new world number five, described it as “a great feeling.

Josh Rock was a disappointment last year, but I improved this year. This might be my new home since I also won the ProTour in Rosmalen!

What a player is Niko, exactly. He has a fantastic future. He displays his great attitude on that dartboard, which he is a great lad with.

Romeo Beckham jumps to support family after ‘hostage’ Brooklyn’s brutal jibe

After his older brother Brooklyn publicly “choose” his wife Nicola Peltz, leading to a new conflict, Romeo Beckham has publicly backed his family.

Romeo Beckham has spoken out after his brother, Brooklyn, dropped a huge family bombshell. In recent months the Beckham family have been at war but tensions reached new levels when Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz failed to attend any celebrations for David Beckham’s 50th birthday.

The mega family is thought to have been deeply harmed but also deeply alarmed by the decision. Brooklyn is currently being held hostage by Nicola, according to sources, leaving the family devastated. Over the weekend, it appeared that the family’s conflict had reached a climax.

Now, Romeo, 22, has publicly thrown his support behind his parents. Taking to Instagram, the footballer shared a snap of his forearm to his 3.9 million followers on the Meta platform. But one tattoo was strikingly clear, an inking reading: “1975,” the year his dad, David, was born.

Romeo’s inspiring post came shortly after Cruz Cruz, Cruz’s younger brother, made a ferocious statement on his own social media about the ongoing family conflict. In a defiant post, the 20-year-old shared a photo of himself with Harper Seven, his parents, brothers, and sister.

He continued, “I love my family, I love you guys, mum and dad, you gave us life and cared for us no matter what,” adding, “I can’t tell you how blessed we are all to have you in our lives x.” Brooklyn’s biggest infliction on his family was revealed through a furious outburst following the strong statements.

The aspiring photographer turned chef posted a video of himself and Nicola to his 16.3 million Instagram followers. Brooklyn captioned his post, “My whole world will love you forever, I always choose you baby,” adding, “X You’re the most amazing person I know, xx me and you forever baby.”

Soon afterward, the post received a lot of negative feedback, with many calling Brooklyn a “snippet” for his parents. Don’t forget your gorgeous parents, who will never forget you, a follower said.

“Devastated for Victoria,” a second poem, was written. A good wife would try to reconcile you rather than divide you, if you were to publicly denounce your parents.

Cruz also issued a defiant statement over the weekend

You only get one mother and one father, and many of them have lost theirs without even realizing it, said a third person, which is “quite sad that you are adding fuel to the fire to the hurt your parents.” While a fourth continued, “I would be devastated if that was my son saying that, knowing what the post is about.” Water has a thicker consistency than blood.

Since then, sources have criticized Brooklyn’s “disappointing but unsurprising” criticism of his family. According to a source who spoke to the Mirror, “they believe Nicola is causing a lack of conflict, or at least making it worse, to isolate Brooklyn from his family.”

“Yes, Nicola is the one who is in charge,” Brooklyn said. She seems to want him to choose between them, which is obviously going on. However, Nicola’s close friends claim that she and Brooklyn only want support and love. They continued, “Visitors and David make that a fabled situation.”

After her and Brooklyn’s £3 million wedding in April 2022 at her family’s $76 million Palm Beach estate, according to sources, David and Victoria, now 51, have since washed their hands of Nicola.

Louise Redknapp revealed she’s ‘been through a lot’ as she discussed her life following her split from Jamie Redknapp. The former couple, who share sons Charley and Beau, announced they had separated in September 2017, and by December that same year, they were divorced.

After getting married to Swedish model Frida Andersson, the couple welcomed a mermaid by the name of Raphael. Louise wasn’t involved in any serious relationships until she met businessman Drew Michael, who is now nine years her junior. Louise acknowledged in a new interview that she is still learning that “loving yourself is something you need to love yourself” and that she is still learning.

She told The Sun, “I’ve been through a lot. I’m working on it. It’s challenging. However, I constantly discover that you must love yourself.

I’ve come to the realization that fighting for yourself means that no one else will benefit from you unless you do.

She then made the comment that her relationship with Drew is “not that big of a gap,” adding that she doesn’t feel particularly older than him and don’t act older.

Louise admitted earlier this year that her children had saved her from going through a difficult situation after splitting with football star Jamie.

Louise said, “I just, I think I would have just given up,” on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast. I do, in fact. I believe I was simply aware that my children needed me because they were my everything.

She discussed during the conversation how the public’s concern over her marriage’s breakdown affected her. But I can honestly say that when you go through such a personal experience in your own turmoil, you are then met with a barrage of criticism and resentment, “she continued.”

I had no idea how cruel and terrible people were. My mind was blown. As it turned out, I was going through a lot.

Whatever transpired in our lives was private, which I do think you are entitled to no matter what, despite my best efforts to protect my children.

“And God, I was a villain, and I was completely breaking,” he said. Beyond what I believed a human could break, I’ve been trying my best to be a mother all along.

“And it was just like every time I went out, and I tried to do things like that wasn’t right if I didn’t. I thought everything I did was completely incorrect.

‘Chronic pain’ forces Scotland captain Corsie to retire

Images courtesy of Getty

Rachel Corsie, the captain of Scotland, will turn 40 next week after enduring “chronic pain” from a knee injury that kept her out the majority of the season.

After receiving her first call-up since July for the final two Nations League A games against Austria on Friday and the Netherlands on Tuesday, the 35-year-old will join Melissa Andreatta’s first Scotland camp on Monday. The pair will play live on BBC Scotland’s live television program, BBC Scotland.

After missing out on the Women’s Super League team since September, the defender made her comeback to play for Aston Villa on April 30. She announced her departure from Villa at the end of the season on May 9.

Corsie, who has 154 international caps and 20 goals and has represented the United States in the 2018 and 2019 World Cups, describes retirement as “the right time.”

She said, “My body has really wanted this to be my last year.”

The day-to-day activities are not typical, according to the statement.

Corsie, who was born in Aberdeen, started with Glasgow City in 2008 and won 13 major awards while playing for Scotland’s then-dominant force before making his debut for Notts County in 2014.

After returning to City in 2015, she enjoyed a six-year stint in the NWSL with Seattle Reign, the Utah Royals, and the Kansas City Current. She also made loan moves to Birmingham City and Canberra United, where she won a second SWPL and Scottish Cup championship.

The center-back returned from a sixth operation on her left knee for their final two league games by joining Villa in 2022, completing her 18-year club career with the WSL team.

Corsie remarked, “We got there, but it was a really tough ambition and goal to get back to playing at the end of the season.”

Before the procedure, the surgeon informed me that I had the option to have it because of my knee’s condition, which was concerning, and because there was a good chance that the damage that had been done over the course of my career would have a significant impact on my life.

I decided to have the operation because I was aware that I couldn’t play back, so I kept it that way.

You believe that I’ve already done it before and that I could do it again.

“Basically, I was just in chronic pain all the time.” Taking the shower and having to climb out of the bath require constant walking up and down the stairs in the house.

“All these minor things, the routine things that are now unusual for me.

It has been the main motivator, according to the statement.

Corsie has never concealed her desire to travel back to Scotland despite spending time watching from the sidelines.

The captain was present throughout the training facility earlier this year when the Scots experienced another play-off pain in their qualifying for Euro 2025 against Finland.

She played a crucial role in their qualifying for their first major tournament, Euro 2017 two years prior, and led her country to victory in France in 2019 at their first World Cup.

Never have we reached such heights before. And while a swansong in Switzerland should have been in your head six months ago, Hampden or the Netherlands will come in close second.

Although she acknowledges that when the final whistle comes, she’ll be “a total mess.”

When Corsie was asked if this might be the ideal goodbye, she responded, “I think it does for me and I think it’s a really unique opportunity. “

She continued, “I’ve needed the light that’s been there at times to keep going and to keep pushing,” she continued.

Maduro triumphs in Venezuelan election boycotted by opposition

The opposition’s governing party, led by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, won parliamentary and regional elections by a majority.

The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and its allies received 82.68 percent of the votes cast the day before for seats in the National Assembly, according to preliminary results released by the National Electoral Council (CNE) on Monday.

The party will continue to hold control of important power structures, including the attorney general’s office and the nation’s top court, whose members are chosen by the assembly’ 285-members.

Additionally, according to CNE, the government won 23 of the 24 state governor positions, putting an end to the opposition’s previous hold on four governorships.

8.9 million people, or roughly 42 percent of the 21 million eligible voters, cast ballots in the elections. That figure, according to CNE’s Carlos Quintero, was the same as the election of 2021.

However, the country’s main opposition leaders had urged voters to boycott the election in protest of the results of the presidential election in July 2024. Authorities declared Maduro the winner of the race, but the opposition claims to have won.

Up to 85% of eligible voters in some areas of the nation voted against the election, according to Maria Corina Machado, a figurehead of the opposition, in a post on X late on Sunday. She criticized the election as an “enormous farce that the regime is trying to stage a burying of its defeat” in the election of last year.

However, Maduro refused to accept the boycott.

He remarked in a blunt manner, “We advance and occupy the terrain when the opponent withdraws from the field.”

Turnout was noticeably low in Venezuela’s main cities, according to reports from journalists and social media posts. However, government party images show large voter turnouts in places like Trujillo and the Amazons.

Teresa Bo, a journalist from Argentina, reported for Al Jazeera that Maduro faced a difficult task of challenging him with more forceful force during the campaign because there was a rift between the opposition and the boycott call.

She continued, noting that the majority of analysts “could not guarantee if the elections were free and fair.”

More than 400,000 security personnel were present to monitor the election on Sunday, and more than 70 people had been detained.

Leading opposition figure Juan Pablo Guanipa was among those detained because he was accused of being the head of a “terrorist network” that intended to “sabotage” the election.

The government, which has repeatedly warned of foreign-backed coup plots, claimed dozens of suspected mercenaries had crossed Colombia, causing the busy border to be closed until after the election.

Despite years of mismanagement and sanctions, Maduro’s victory in recent elections comes in spite of the economy’s decline, which was once Latin America’s envy. More are in order.

Venezuelan oil giant Chevron’s permission to pump it has been revoked by US President Donald Trump, potentially denying Maduro’s government a vital economic lifeline.
