RB Leipzig have sacked head coach Marco Rose following their 1-0 Bundesliga defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

Rose, 48, departs after two and a half years with Leipzig and with the side sixth in the Bundesliga table.

They have won three of their last 11 Bundesliga games and have seven matches remaining following the defeat at Monchengladbach.

Leipzig are only three points short of the Champions League qualification positions and play in the semi-finals of the German Cup on Wednesday against Stuttgart.

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp currently works for the Red Bull group as their head of global soccer.

Speaking in January, Klopp said “I will not be the coach of a Red Bull team”, should an opportunity arise.

Marcel Schafer, Leipzig’s managing director for sport, said: “We have believed in our co-operation with Marco and his team for a very long time and, up to now, tried everything to turn things around together.

Dan Osborne has paid a gushing tribute to Jacqueline Jossa after they spent the night together while battling to save their marriage.

The couple last night fuelled hopes that they could save their eight-year marriage after the EastEnders actress was spotted at her estranged husband’s home.

And today, former TOWIE star Dan added further fuel to the fire after sharing a sweet message dedicated to his wife. Posting a photo of his two daughters and Jacqueline sat at a kitchen table full of flowers and gifts, he wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day @jacjossa. Our girls are lucky to have you as their mummy”.

It comes after the pair confirmed they had split in a joint statement earlier this month. But now, the duo were seen reuniting at Dan’s property in Southend. Jacqueline is said to have been residing in the £2million home the family had shared in Esseex.

Their split statement read: “Jacqueline and Dan are handling things privately, choosing to keep their lives and relationship out of the public eye. They kindly ask for respect and privacy as they navigate this together”.

It continued: “Their children remain their top priority, surrounded by love and care from both parents — something that will never change. Above all, Jacqueline and Dan have each other’s and their children’s best interests at heart. There will be no further comment”.

Last week, Jacqueline broke her silence on the situation. Taking to Instagram, she said: “What happened to in a world where you can be anything be kind ay? Daniel and I are talking constantly, there is no big feud, stop looking for one”.

She added: “People who make out they are fans of me… please understand that trolling and bashing another human being isn’t okay and never will be. You’ll be blocked and deleted”.

The duo’s family home was put on the market earlier this year, with reports suggesting that Dan had purchased a home in his own name nearby. Last year, the actress shared a rare insight into their marriage as she set the record straight following allegations of infidelity from Dan as well as another split.

She shared a string of loved-up snaps alongside her husband at the time and gushed: “Just realised I haven’t even posted on the grid about Daniel’s bday or our anniversary and I just wanted to do a little appreciation post for my bestest friend in the world.

” Over 10 years and 7 of them married. Love you more than ever. Crazy little world isn’t it. Also it’s crazy how little photos we take now. Need more!! “

Eid-El-Fitr: Sultan Seeks Prayers, Support  For Leaders, Says Insecurity Still A Challenge

The Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar on Sunday asked Nigerians to continue to pray and support leaders at all levels of government to be able to bring about the needed growth and development of the country

Speaking in his Sallah message shortly after the prayers to mark this year’s Eid-El-Fitr celebration, the Sultan urged Nigerians to pray for peace and against the rising insecurity in the country.

He expressed concern over the security challenges in parts of the country while commending the security forces for their efforts.

He urged citizens to engage in constructive criticism rather than engaging in frivolous attacks on leaders who are working towards finding solutions to the challenges facing the country.

The Sultan commended the efforts of the Sokoto State Government for embarking on many transformative projects in the state, saying citizens need to support the government to do more.

Abubakar said the contract between citizens and leaders is a continuous one and urged the government to continue the good work they have started so as to take the state to a greater height. He was particularly grateful to the government and other wealthy individuals in the state who supported residents to observe the Ramadan fast with ease through support of all kinds.

He praised the state governor, Ahmad Aliyu, for assisting the orphans and widows by making special provisions for them during Ramadan and even providing for them to celebrate the Sallah.

Sultan Abubakar appreciated the clerics and Ulamas for conducting themselves well during the different Tafsir (sermon) during Ramadan.

‘Eid of Sadness’: Gaza marks festival amid Israeli bombings, lack of food

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip had little to celebrate as they marked Eid al-Fitr with rapidly dwindling food supplies and no end in sight to the Israeli bombardment.

Many held prayers outside demolished mosques on the day marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, as at least 20 Palestinians were killed on Sunday, most of them women and children.

The Muslim festival is supposed to be a joyous occasion, when families gather for feasts and buy new clothes for children – but most of Gaza’s two million Palestinians are just trying to survive.

“It’s the Eid of Sadness”, Adel al-Shaer said after attending outdoor prayers in the central town of Deir el-Balah. “We lost our loved ones, our children, our lives, and our futures. We lost our students, our schools, and our institutions. We lost everything”.

Twenty members of his extended family have been killed in Israeli attacks, including four young nephews just a few days ago, he said as he broke into tears.

On March 18, Israel abruptly ended a fragile two-month ceasefire as it resumed its intense bombing campaign and ground operations in Gaza. Israel has since killed hundreds of Palestinian civilians and has allowed no food, fuel or humanitarian aid to enter for four weeks.

Arab mediators are trying to get the truce back on track, and Hamas said on Saturday it had accepted a new proposal from Egypt and Qatar, the exact details of which were not immediately known. Israel said it had advanced its own proposal in coordination with the United States, which has also been mediating.
