Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim was joined by players Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot at Anfield to pay tribute to Portuguese compatriots Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva on behalf of the Old Trafford club.
Fernandes and Dalot were international colleagues of Jota, 28, and all part of the Portugal squad that beat Spain to win the Uefa Nations League in June.
Jota and 25-year-old Silva, who was also a footballer, died in a car crash on 3 July in the Spanish province of Zamora.
Amorim, Fernandes and Dalot laid some flowers among the vast amount of tributes which have been placed outside Anfield.
“With deepest condolences from everyone at Manchester United.”
Liverpool have retired the number 20 shirt worn by Jota across all levels of the club and played their first match since his death when they faced Preston in a pre-season friendly at Deepdale on 13 July.

Ruben Dias shared a few sweet pictures of his girlfriend Maya Jama amid their holiday in Florida. The football star took to his Instagram page to share a carousel of the best parts from his break, which included boat trips, crocodiles, shopping, gym sessions and sunny days out.
He captioned the post: “Sun, love, crocodiles, some fits and one advice.” In one photo, he and Love Island host Maya posed for a mirror selfie in the elevator while surrounded by their endless suitcases. Maya stuck her hands up in peace signs and stuck her tongue out for the snap while Ruben simply furrowed his brows.

He also took a photo of her in a gas station shop while wearing a disposable rain poncho, a green visor and oversized sunglasses. She adapted to the Florida weather with flip flops and shorts.
Maya posted a flaming heart emoji in the comment section and shared the gas station snap to her own Instagram Stories, adding: “When in Florida,” along with a laughing emoji.
It comes as it was revealed Maya won’t be hosting the new season of Love Island Games as Peacock confirmed Love Island US presenter Ariana Madix would be replacing her as host.

“Peacock announce Love Island Games season 2 premieres September 16th, this time with Ariana Madix as host,” bosses announced. “It’ll see all-star islanders from the UK, USA & Australia return for another game of love.”
It fuelled rumours the star could be leaving the franchise but bosses denied the reports and recently said: “We are very much committed to Maya, who is a brilliant Love Island host, and we have no plans for a presenter change.”
Meanwhile, the star could soon be adding another major project to her packed schedule, as she’s reportedly in discussions with Prime Video to front a brand-new entertainment series focused on family connections.
The 30-year-old is said to be in talks for what could be a lucrative deal with the streaming giant. A source previously told The Sun : “Maya is absolutely red-hot right now and she’s been able to really diversify when it comes to projects.”
“The latest discussions have been with Prime Video over an entertainment show,” they continued.
“Amazon’s streamer has made strong moves into reality with Clarkson’s Farm and Molly Mae’s series but so far haven’t explored shiny-floor, entertainment programming, so Maya would be part of that.
“The show, which is exploring family connections, might not be the project they press ahead with for Maya but the interest to work with her is there.”

Reality TV star Tasha Ghouri looked very much besotted with her new man as they shared a hug in public. The former Love Island star went public with Cam Whitnall, who is the managing director of The Big Cat Sanctuary.
The duo were seen also holding hands on a sweet day out at Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place festival at Gunnersbury Park. Tasha was wearing a short white dress with black cowgirl boots, complete with tassels.
Cam opted for an all back outfit and white Nike trainers. There was no hiding their connection as they walked hand in hand and wrapped their arms around each other.
It’s said Tasha initially fell for Cam due to his drive and ambition in his career. It’s thought the duo have been dating for a little over a month.

A source told The Sun, who also obtained the images of the pair: “She met him after moving close to where he lives and they connected on social media. They were all over each other at the Happy Place Festival where Tasha was giving a talk.”
They added: “Cam was in the audience and was grinning at her as she spoke with Fearne. It’s clear there’s a real spark between them.”
The new relationship comes after Love Island pair Tasha and Andrew Le Page called it quits. Despite the initial amicable break up, tension has boiled over at times.
In recent social media posts, the pair both expressed their wish to “move on” from their time together. In separate statements shared on their Instagram stories at the weekend, the exes cooled any rumours of a feud.
Tasha discussed her split from Andrew and he later slammed her in a Snapchat post in response. In her own post, Tasha said: “I just want to address recent hurtful comments about me & Andrew.
“We’ve always been open about who we are and what we went through, the hate and harsh words have been unfair and overwhelming for both of us. No one deserves to be torn down, especially when they’re already trying to heal.
“We’ve both made mistakes, we’ve both learned, and we’ve both grown. But the judgement and cruelty we are facing from people online has been hard. Please remember that behind every nasty post, every comment, every story, there are real people with real emotions. Always be kind. I want us both to happy and I wish him nothing but the best”. [sic]
In a separate post, Andrew said: “Tasha and I want to address the noise around out breakup, as there’s been hate going around that neither of us ever wanted. Things were said on both sides, but at the end of the day, no relationship is perfect, but ours still had some incredible moments I’ll always be grateful for.
“I truly just want us both to move on and be happy. Wishing Tasha nothing but the best, and I’ll always be proud of her.”
Andrew previously took to his Snapchat to write: “Wasn’t gonna speak about it all. However, the girl can’t keep my name out her mouth even thought she’s got a new boyfriend. The truth is… She went on Raya while we were still together… Oops. No one is perfect in a relationship but you keep talking s**t about me, I’ll start talking. She did one too many podcasts unfortunately. This is your closure chat.”
Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca insisted winning the Club World Cup meant as much as winning the Champions League after his side beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final of the first edition of FIFA’s new competition on Sunday.
“I have the feeling that this competition is going to be as important, if not more important than, the Champions League,” said Maresca after adding the trophy to the UEFA Conference League title his team won in May.
Maresca only took over at Chelsea a year ago but was previously on the coaching staff under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City when they won the Champions League in 2023.
“I was lucky to be on the coaching staff of a team that won the Champions League a few years ago, but this competition features the best teams in the world and I think we can value it on the same level,” said the Italian.

“It is a great triumph for us and it will allow the Chelsea fans to have that on our shirt for the next four years, so it is a source of pride.”
Maresca said he instructed his players to go out and take the game to PSG from the off — they went on to net all three goals in the first half with Cole Palmer netting a brace before Joao Pedro added his name to the scoresheet.
“The message was to let them understand that we were here to win the game and I think in the first 10 minutes we showed them that,” Maresca said.
“That set the tone of the game, and then the quality of the players was also important.”
England international Palmer was named player of the match after bagging a brace and setting up Joao Pedro’s goal.
The 23-year-old therefore lived up to his superstar billing — his face has appeared on billboards around New York advertising the tournament, alongside the likes of Real Madrid duo Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.
“To score the goals was a great feeling, as was the way the team showed fire out there — the gaffer’s game plan was spot on,” he said.
“I just try to do my job every time I go onto the pitch and hopefully I will continue.
“I have seen the billboards in Times Square and outside Madison Square Garden and it is obviously a nice feeling to be alongside those players,” he added.
