According to the organization, the city’s Al-Salha neighborhood’s victims included children, making the killings “the largest documented mass killing in the region.”
Local doctors claimed that the victims had ties to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and that the paramilitary group had made an accusation against them.
In the Al-Salha neighborhood, activists posted videos on social media showing RSF uniformed men shooting at a group of people.
The RSF’s bloodshed was also referred to as “a crime against humanity” and “a war crime” by the doctor’s network.
It urged the international community to immediately intervene to save the remaining civilians by establishing safe passageways to allow them to leave Al-Salha.
The rebel group did not respond to the report right away.
According to a report from Khartoum, Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan reported that the Barra brigade, which has been fighting alongside the army or SAF, was the source of the graphic video that started appearing on social media early on Sunday morning.
The Sudanese army has been conducting offensives to regain control of the RSF in southwest and western Omdurman, where the RSF also has bases, and she said the RSF is still fighting in southwestern Omdurman.
A statement from the SAF and the government has not yet been made.
In a brutal civil war that left countless people dead and one of the worst humanitarian crises ever, the RSF has been fighting Sudanese army forces for control of the nation since April 15, 2023.
According to the UN and local authorities, more than 20 000 people have died so far, and 15 million have been displaced.
