Gethin Jones has continued to fuel romance rumours with his Morning Live co-star Helen Skelton after he sent her a sweet birthday message on social media.

The TV presenters have been close friends for some time, but it is said that after they were spotted leaving the BAFTAs together in May, their friendship has grown stronger. They have been seen recently hanging out and enjoying a spa day at a country club, despite the fact that they have not yet confirmed their relationship.

In a further clue things are hotting up between the pair, Gethin, 47, took to his Instagram stories to publicly wish Helen happy birthday as she turned 42 on Saturday. Posting a photo of animal-loving Helen surrounded by a flock of sheep, Gethin wrote ‘Pen-blwydd Hapus’, which is Happy Birthday in his native Welsh.

He then made the joke that “having the best time hanging out with your mates” and that a kiss should be exchanged at the end, implying that their relationship is more than platonic.

The single stars have both had their hearts broken in recent years. Gethin’s engagement to Katherine Jenkins was called off in 2011 and he’s had a string of short relationships since. While Helen split from ex-husband Richie Myler – who she shares three kids with – back in 2022.

When Richie and Helen’s ex-husband split, they had just welcomed their third child, Elsie. He had been married for eight years and had been playing rugby for the Leeds Rhinos. With Stephanie, 35, whose millionaire father Andrew Thirkill serves as Richie’s rugby club president, he now has two more kids.

When she broke the upsetting news to her Instagram followers, Helen said: “Very sad to say Richie and I are no longer a couple. The family home has been abandoned by him. We’ll make every effort to co-parent our young children.

Helen described her heartbreaking split in her 2023 autobiography, In My Stride, and how she had anticipated it. She remarked, “I was shocked. People frequently claim they didn’t see it coming after breaking up, which sounds cliché, but that was me.

Helen refuses to let Richie leave her completely for the sake of their children. She claims that she has a father figure for her children and that their parents were once happy and in love. She chose to keep her and Richie’s Instagram photos instead of deleting them because of this. She continued, “I want them to know that although we were in love, things can change.”

Welshman Gethin has not been romantically linked to anyone since he dated First Dates star Cici Coleman. In the past, he is also thought to have briefly dated former The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh.

Gethin and Helen first sparked rumours of a possible romance in March when they both took part in a 24-hour roller skate challenge for Comic Relief which raised £34 million for charity. Gethin has publicly praised Helen’s resilience as he gushed about how he loved spending time with her.

While Gethin’s public critic, Helen remarked, “You are some man, dear @gethinjonesc… Because I assume it to be well known, I don’t say it often enough, but for the record, you’re a legend and I’m beyond happy to have you by my side on the ice, the sofa, and everywhere else.

So if Helen has found love again with Gethin it would be some happy news. And it certainly looks like it’s heading that way. A source told MailOnline: “Helen and Gethin have an extremely close working relationship and there’s a feeling in recent months their friendship has blossomed into a deeper connection. They’re both keen to keep a lid on it to avoid public scrutiny, but there’s no denying their closeness both on and off screen.”

Wellens cruises to maiden Tour win on stage 15

Tim Wellens, the reigning champion of Belgium, won stage 15 to claim his first Tour de France stage victory.

The UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider attacked on the final climb of the 169.3km route from Muret to Carcassonne after working for Tadej Pogacar during the opening two weeks of the Tour.

The 34-year-old finished third with French two-time world champion Julian Alaphilippe in third place and fellow Belgian Victor Campenaerts in second place.

The UAE won the fifth stage of the race in Wellens, with Pogacar, the other four, joining the reigning champion, taking home.

Wellens referred to it as “a very special victory.” Everyone is familiar with the Tour de France, but not many people do so, so it was very picturesque.

The 166 riders who were still unaccounted for had a transitional stage before the Tour’s second and final rest day in Montpellier.

Wellens saw an opportunity on the final of the three categorised climbs, 55 kilometers up the Pas du Sant, when the stage was poised for a breakaway victory.

Michael Storer, Quinn Simmons, and Campeanaerts made up Wellens’ group of eight members as they began the ascent.

On the long descent to Carcassone, the group briefly recovered, but Wellens attacked with 44 kilometers left and the chasers never appeared to be closing the gap.

Wellens continued, “I felt really good.” “I felt really good on the last climb of the day.” I was aware that the other people were extremely supportive, but I also knew I had to go solo. I reached my peak and felt like I had the tools to carry it all the way to the end.

I wanted a big gap so I could enjoy it and maybe even fly my bike up after the finish line, but I was so happy I didn’t want to. “I knew I had to enjoy the moment. I continued riding until the finish line.”

Pogacar, a three-time Tour champion, continued, “I’m happier for him than when I win.” Beyond happiness

A 171.5 km ride from Montpellier to the finish line and a massive climb up Mont Ventoux will take the course on Tuesday.

Due to the terrain, the time trial on Friday, the climb, and yesterday’s 5, 000m elevation gain, Pogacar said, “This week was one of the hardest second weeks of the Tour that I have ridden.”

England to host next three World Test Championship finals

The World Test Championship finals will be held in 2027, 2029, and 2031, according to the International Cricket Council.

South Africa defeated Australia in the 2025 showpiece at Lord’s last month, making it three WTC finals to date in England.

The ICC announced at its annual conference in Singapore that the ICC would be hosting the next three games “followed a successful track record in hosting recent finals” and that it would grant the EGB the hosting rights.

Apparently, India intended to stage the 2027 final.

In Southampton, New Zealand defeated India in the first WTC final in 2021, which took place in biostable conditions.

The 2023 final at The Oval, where Australia defeated India, was sold out, and the following four days at Lord’s this year were also sold out, with South Africa winning on day four.

England finished fifth overall in the 2023-2005 cycle despite not making it to the WTC final.

Being selected for the next three finals was a “testament to the passion that fans in this country have for this treasured format of the game and the willingness of supporters from all over the world to travel here for these games,” according to Gould.

He continued, “We look forward to working with the ICC to build on the success of the previous editions.” “Hosting these finals is a privilege.”

The ICC board received an update on Afghanistan’s women’s cricketers’ support, according to the ICC.

With the assistance of the ECB, Cricket Australia, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the governing body established a dedicated taskforce in April to assist displaced Afghan female cricketers.

Following the Taliban’s resurrected in 2021, many of Afghanistan’s top players emigrated, with female sports participation effectively prohibited.

Liam Gallagher sheds bad boy vibe for quality time with mum during Oasis tour

In addition to his Oasis tour with Noel Gallagher, Liam Gallagher has been enjoying quality time with his mother Peggy.

Liam Gallagher has been spending much-needed time with mum Peggy during his Oasis reunion tour with brother Noel Gallagher. The 52-year-old singer was full rock and roll during the Nineties but swapped it for a more wholesome vibe with the highly anticipated reunion tour.

After 16 years of being locked in a contentious feud, the famous brothers reformed Oasis to much fanfare. The band began a string of shows in Cardiff before moving to Manchester’s Heaton Park. They are also gearing up for a number of sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Liam and his mother Peggy enjoy spending some quality time together while on tour, where his sons are always thrilled to see their sons perform on stage. Before Oasis takes to the stage, her other son, Paul Gallagher, will also perform a DJ set.

A source recently told The Sun that Liam is “incredibly close to Peggy and has loved spending time with her during the tour.” She is anticipating seeing all three of her boys perform at Wembley.

The source went on to say Liam has been ‘putting his head down’ and ‘focusing on the tour’. The Mirror have contacted Oasis’ reps for comment.

It follows Peggy’s forced exit from Heaton Park due to illness. She had previously discussed having them perform on the Oasis Live 25 tour, but she still resides in Manchester where she raised her three boys in Burnage.

Due to concerns about her health and the standing nature of Heaton Park, The Mirror became aware of her decision to not see them there.

Peggy is “absolutely keen to go see Oasis again” and “couldn’t be more proud to read about the shows in Cardiff and Manchester,” according to a source with the time.

However, if she does attend the band, Liam and Noel want her to feel at ease. She needs a comfortable spot if she plans to attend one of the shows and spend a few hours there because she recently underwent knee replacement surgery.

While they are in Manchester, they will both be able to spend time with her, but they won’t rush to see her.

There are better access and transportation options, and she can be treated like a queen with any food she wants. “Somewhere like Dublin or Wembley is a more likely location.”

The band will play Wembley, Edinburgh, and Croke Park in Dublin following their performances at the Manchester shows. The band will then travel the world.

Gabriel says things will be ‘different’ at Arsenal ‘after letting titles slip’

Images courtesy of Getty

After revealing that they have “let a few titles slip through our fingers,” Gabriel Magalhaes predicts that this season will be different for Arsenal.

Since taking over the Gunners almost six years ago, Mikel Arteta has transformed the club, but in his first season in charge, the club won’t have won much silverware.

The Gunners finished second in the Premier League for three straight seasons, falling to eventual champions Paris St-Germain and Newcastle, respectively, in the semi-finals of the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

the need to prevent lengthy layoffs

Last season, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Martinelli all spent protracted periods on the sidelines that severely hampered Arsenal’s attack.

With other recognized attackers out, midfielder Mikel Merino ended up playing as a makeshift center-forward, and striker Gabriel Jesus also had an anterior cruciate ligament injury that made up the majority of the campaign.

Merino did well this season, scoring seven goals in 28 Premier League games and helping Real Madrid win the Champions League.

Of course, the injuries allowed academy players Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri to join the first team, which wasn’t all bad for the Gunners.

Lewis-Skelly has since signed a new long-term contract and made his England debut.

Nwaneri, who has made nine goals in 37 appearances, is on the verge of accomplishing the same.

Gabriel, 27, told BBC Sport, “I don’t think we can make excuses.” In the last three years, we have done everything. We all believe we can win big titles, despite the fact that there may have been some bad luck.

signing “great players” like Gyokeres

When Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign at Manchester United on August 17th, they will have a number of new faces in their squad, which has been busy in the transfer market.

Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga have already been signed by the Gunners. Viktor Gyokeres and young defender Cristhian Mosquera are also in the process of being signed.

Zubimendi is one of Europe’s most highly regarded defensive midfielders.

Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champion, attempted to sign him last year, but he failed to do so as a half-time substitute for Spain’s win over England in the Euro 2024 final.

Now that Jorginho and Thomas Partey have left, Arsenal has also signed midfielder Norgaard from Brentford to add experience.

Madueke is regarded as the best Saka backup, but also a capable opponent on both wings, a contender for Martinelli’s position, and a player who can continue to improve his game.

Gabrielel said, “I think the players that came will help us out a lot.”

The club is doing what the manager and the players can both benefit from. We must concentrate on what we can do on the pitch, but they are undoubtedly trying their best to bring the best players who can assist us.

“The players are doing that,” the players claim. With these newcomers, we are strong and are strengthening.

It definitely makes me happy. The best players are what we want. You must have the best players to compete for titles.

Gyokeres’ expected arrival from Sporting will help Arsenal, who already had a 54-game winning streak last season.

Gabriel mimicked the forward’s celebration following his goal against Gyokeres in the Champions League’s 5-0 win over Sporting in November.

Gabriel said, “We all know he’s a great player, but he’s an Arsenal player, not a professional player.”

The desire to “win big titles”

Gabriel injured a hamstring in April, making it impossible to play in his final weeks of last season. He underwent surgery to correct the issue, and he is currently recovering from his first season of running.

The Brazilian claims he didn’t hear anything “about links with a move to Saudi Arabia” when he signs a contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.

Arsenal seems confident in expressing their readiness to advance further and feel confident in announcing their readiness to lift a trophy publicly.

“I’ve been with the club for five years, and I’ve seen how much it has grown. “added Gabriel, who was speaking before the club’s pre-season tour, where the Gunners will face Newcastle on July 27 and AC Milan on July 23 in the Singapore Festival of Football.

I’m here to win big titles, and I think the upcoming season will be different. Recently, we’ve let a few titles slip through our fingers.
