Love Island star ‘rushed to hospital’ after suffering painful injury in villa

After recently injuring himself in the Love Island villa, an islander is said to have been taken to a major hospital. After an incident, Jamie Rhodes reportedly received an A&E check-up after being checked over by on-site medical staff.

According to reports, Jamie, who appears on the ITV2 show with Yasmin Pettet, was taken to the hospital after a production-related incident. The villa’s garden allegedly contained a “loose screw” where the electrical engineer allegedly stepped on it.

After speaking with medical staff at the villa, the islander is said to have been taken to A& E. After being briefly paused, it’s suggested that Jamie has since resumed filming after being “bandaged up,” along with his co-stars.

Jamie Rhodes (left), who was pictured with Yasmin Pettet (right), is said to have injured himself recently at the Love Island villa (ITV).

After an accident at the villa, Jamie was taken to the hospital, according to a source. He stepped on a screw in the garden, and after talking with the villa’s doctors, they made the decision to take him to the hospital.

According to the source, Love Island filming was temporarily “paused.” Because it’s considered “quite uncommon” for islanders to be kicked out of the villa during the TV show production, they added that everyone was “really worried.”

They came to the conclusion that Jamie returned to her entire bandaged state after the garden was searched for any more loose screws. He was fine to walk; however, the villa was “afraid” of seeing him leave and exposed to the outside world.

Megan Forte Clarke, 24, reported that one of her co-stars had requested medical attention while she was staying at the villa. In a video that was posted to TikTok last week, Megan addressed the unaired moment.

She responded to her followers with the statement, “My favorite moment or memory in the villa… Harry stood too close to the pond one day while we were cartwheeling.” He completely slammed into the small ponds like those found near the gym, microphone and all.

Harry, who is still in the villa, was reportedly given some cheer after the incident, according to Megan, who was later seen laughing at times. She claimed that the doctor and everything else needed to be seen. He would be great if the doctor instructed him to take two paracetamol.

Arsenal close to Gyokeres deal after add-ons delay

After negotiations took longer than expected, Arsenal are about to sign Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.

A 73.5 million euro (£63.5 million) deal was in the final stages, according to a report from BBC Sport last week, with Arsenal hoping to complete it before their pre-season tour of Asia, which kicks off on Sunday.

The Sweden forward’s move has been postponed as a result of club discussions over add-on terms.

Gyokeres and the Gunners have already agreed terms and a five-year contract.

After scoring 54 goals in 52 games for Sporting last season, the 27-year-old has been in demand for a summer move.

After reaching an impasse in their bid to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, Arsenal turned their attention to Gyokeres, according to a report from BBC Sport earlier this month.

After his team finished with 17 fewer goals and finished 10 points behind champions Liverpool in the Premier League last season, manager Mikel Arteta has been searching for a striker for a while.

Gyokeres, a former Brighton and Coventry striker, helped Sporting win back-to-back Premier League titles in 97 games over the course of his two seasons in Portugal.

One of the most prolific strikers in the Championship was him when he was at Coventry.

He made 43 goals in 116 games for the Sky Blues. As Coventry advanced to the play-off final but was overcame by Luton Town on penalties, he was named in the championship team of the year in 2022-23.

He left Sporting for about £20 million the following summer and moved to Portugal.

Bangladesh students demand accountability after deadly air force jet crash

In Bangladesh, hundreds of protesters have gathered to demand accountability after a fighter jet of the Air Force crashed into a Dhaka school, killing 31 people, including 25 students.

The Bangladesh Air Force jet crashed into their school and blew up on them on Monday, when the children, many under 12, were about to leave for class. The aircraft’s mechanical malfunction, according to the military.

As two government officials visited the crash site on Tuesday, students from the school and nearby colleges protested, yelling, “Why did our brothers die? ” and demanding an accurate death toll. We demand solutions”!

Local TV footage shows hundreds of protesting students breaking through the main gate of the federal government secretariat in the capital, some of whom were waving sticks. They were also requesting the resignation of the education adviser.

The protesting students demanded that those who had died and were injured be named, that their families be compensated, that outdated and risky jets be decommissioned, and that changes be made to the air force training procedures.

About 80 students were hurt when police used tear gas and sound grenades to disperse the crowd, according to Jamuna TV, a station in Bangladesh.

Talebur Rahman, the deputy commissioner of the Bangladesh Metropolitan Police, claimed that the Reuters news agency had not received any information about the number of injured.

According to Al Jazeera’s Tanvir Chowdhury, the students have a number of demands from the crash site at Milestone School and College.

They want an exact figure – the hospital’s capacity to house the names of the people who died and those who are injured. Additionally, Chowdhury argued, “They want compensation and a public apology.”

They also want the air force to alter its training procedures and depart from its outdated aircraft.

In a statement from the military, 165 people were admitted to hospitals in the city and 31 had died. 68 people were still receiving care, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and 10 were in critical condition.

The interim administrator of the nation, Muhammad Yunus, said in a press release that the government, the military, school, and hospital authorities were working together to publish a list of the named victims.

Additionally, it stated that the air force would be instructed not to fly training aircraft over densely populated areas.

The country is in mourning, according to the statement.

As depressed locals watched as rescue workers searched the burned-out buildings for debris on Tuesday.

The entire world is in mourning, the statement read. This is something that [this country] has never experienced,” said Al Jazeera’s Chowdhury.

Some parents had no control over their children.

Abul Hossain shook his head as he described Nusrat Jahan Anika, his nine-year-old daughter, who was killed in the collision.

“I went to school with her yesterday morning, like I always do. Hossain told Reuters, “I had no idea this would be my last encounter with her.” On Monday night, she was laid to rest.

Rubina Akter claimed Raiyan Toufiq, who had escaped after his shirt caught fire while he was climbing a staircase, miraculously made it out.

Akter told Reuters, “He sprinted to the ground floor and jumped on the grass to obuse it.”

He was saved from severe burns by torn his shirt and vest inside.

When the plane crashed, Smriti, a student in 11th grade, said she felt her eardrums were “about to burst.”

Some children lay on their limbs, some of their lifeless bodies dispersed around, I saw. Can they be saved? Tell me, “When will they ever have access to their parents’ arms again?” she inquired.

According to the military, the jet was taking off from a nearby airbase for a routine training mission. The pilot attempted to divert the aircraft away from densely populated areas after experiencing mechanical failure, but it crashed into the school campus.

Flight lieutenant Mohammed Toukir Islam, one of the victims, was the pilot. He was finishing his training and making his first solo flight.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s playful act with Louis ‘speaks volumes about bond’

To mark Prince George’s birthday today, the Prince and Princess of Wales released a sweet video of him and their two other children – and an expert believes one part of it was very telling

Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s playful act with Prince Louis gives a heartwarming insight into their sibling bond, according to an expert.

To mark George’s 12th birthday today, his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, released behind-the-scenes footage of him having fun with his brother and sister. The future King is shown laughing as he and Charlotte both lift a giggling Louis up in their arms during an outdoor photoshoot, with George holding his younger brother around his chest and Charlotte holding his legs.

The upbeat video montage, filmed by Kensington Palace’s in-house social media team, also shows the trio smiling as they stride along holding hands in the sunshine, with Louis in the middle of his brother and sister.

The royal siblings also pose for a family portrait with Charlotte and Louis sitting on a rustic wooden gate as George leans next to them. And according to body language expert Judi James, the clip is ‘magical’ and ‘very telling’ about the trio’s bond behind closed doors.

She told the Mirror : “The sound of sustained giggling is a strong feature of the group moments, where the sibling dynamic is shown in the structure of the poses.

“It’s especially visible in the clip where Charlotte and George have picked Louis up and are not only making him giggle but giggling themselves.

“It shows what we have seen before in their videos, that the entire family group loves to play together and let off steam away from official duties. We now see both George and Charlotte looking formal and impeccably behaved at royal events, but these glimpses of play show us they are like any other children behind the scenes.

“By picking little Louis up, older siblings Charlotte and George are flexing their age-dominance in the family pecking order, showing they can still make the often-cheeky Louis helpless when they want to, as they all laugh together.

“But by carrying him between them, they also show their strong desire to protect and support their little brother, too.”

Meanwhile, Judi also notes that the clip shows the influence that Prince William has had over his eldest son – especially as he looks to the future.

She added: “First, we see George standing alone, and these poses show how he is inheriting a charismatic trait that both his father and William’s mother, Diana, have had.

“It’s the ability to blend signals of confidence and even a sense of regal status with signals of shyness. George’s self-effacing smile is a Spencer trait, and as he grows in height, the genes are even more visible, showing how much of a powerful role model his own father is.”

The video comes as William and Kate also released a new solo colour photograph of their George, taken when the video was shot. George – one year away from being a teenager – is pictured smiling and relaxed as he leans on the gate in the Norfolk countryside.

The youngster is wearing a white checked shirt with rolled up sleeves and a dark green fleece gilet, and a blue and white friendship bracelet can be seen on his left wrist as he rests his folded arms on the gate.

The image, posted on Kensington Palace’s social media, was taken by photographer Josh Shinner earlier this year. It was accompanied by the message: “Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George!” followed by a cake emoji. The Royal Family also sent its congratulations to George, wishing him a “very happy birthday”.

French Open Sensation Boisson Withdraws Injured From Montreal

Lois Boisson, a semi-finalist for Roland Garros, announced on Tuesday that she had injured her left adductor muscle in the WTA 1000 event in Montreal. This is in response to the number of prominent Canadian Open absentees.

World number 44 Boisson posted on social media that “I (did) an echography this morning following the pain I experienced during the tournament in Hamburg. It appears that I need a little more time to rest and heal it properly.”

“I’m very disappointed that I didn’t make the trip to Obnmontreal,” said one participant.

The 22-year-old’s injury comes just days after she won her first tour-level event on clay in Hamburg and placed in the top 50 of the world following her strong performance at last month’s French Open.

Kerry Katona ‘surprised’ after John Torode’s MasterChef axing over use of ‘N-word’

Kerry Katona has insisted that it is ‘easy’ to be cancelled these days after John Torode was sacked from the BBC’s MasterChef following his accusations of racism.

Kerry Katona has spoken out about John Torode’s MasterChef axe. The TV star, 59, was sacked from his position as a judge on the BBC programme following a historic accusation of racism just days after his co-star Gregg Wallace, 60, was also axed following an investigation into his behaviour.

Gregg initially stepped back from filming in November but lost his job on the show after an investigation upheld 45 out of 83 complaints against him. Meanwhile, Torode came forward as the unnamed person in the Lewis Silkin report, which was commissioned by the production firm Banjiay, in relation to Wallace’s conduct.

And now, former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry, 44, has weighed in with her opinion on cancel culture.

Kerry said: “There’s been drama unfolding around MasterChef, after claims against Gregg Wallace were investigated by the BBC. But I was surprised to see his co-host John Torode also involved.”

An allegation against John for using “an extremely offensive racist term” was upheld, but it’s hard to pass judgment without knowing the details.”

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner was quick to insist that she doesn’t “condone racism in any form”, but is also aware of just how “easy” it can be for someone in the public eye to be cancelled these days, she added in her OK! Magazine column. Last week, John confirmed he was the person alleged to have used racist language after an investigation into his former co-star. However, the former This Morning star said that he had no memory of making the comment and denies it ever happened.

Following the furore, he has now been sacked from the long-running show, with the BBC recently confirming: “John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him. This allegation, which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace, was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm Lewis Silkin. John Torode denies the allegation.

“He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment.

News of John’s allegations emerged last Tuesday after production company Banijay said that an investigation into his co-star Wallace’s behaviour by firm Lewis Silkin had “substantiated an accusation of highly offensive racist language against” John. John, however, said in a statement: “I have no recollection of what I’m accused of.”

The Sun reported that he repeated lyrics, containing the N-word, from Kanye West’s song Gold Digger at an after-work gathering in 2019. He’s then said to have used the word again whilst speaking to a member of the MasterChef production team.

However, BBC News has since reported that the upheld allegation relating to John using the racist slur was not in relation to the above incident. The publication reports the upheld allegation relates to an incident in 2018, in which it is claimed he used the same word on set after filming ended – and the slur was directed at a member of staff.

Meanwhile, the publication also reported that Torode was the subject of a total of nine complaints. There was a single upheld allegation of racist language and eight other allegations relating to different matters were rejected, the Mirror understands. The BBC, Banjiay and a representative for John declined to comment when initially contacted by the Mirror.

John denied the allegation in a statement which read: “Following publication of the Executive Summary of the investigation into Gregg Wallace while working on MasterChef, I am aware of speculation that I am one of the two other individuals against whom an allegation has been upheld.

“For the sake of transparency, I confirm that I am the individual who is alleged to have used racial language on one occasion. The allegation is that I did so sometime in 2018 or 2019, in a social situation, and that the person I was speaking with did not believe that it was intended in a malicious way and that I apologised immediately afterwards.

“I have absolutely no recollection of any of this, and I do not believe that it happened. However, I want to be clear that I’ve always had the view that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment. I’m shocked and saddened by the allegation as I would never wish to cause anyone any offence.”
