Pete Wicks makes sweet promise to Vicky Pattison ahead of first Strictly Come Dancing live show

Vicky Pattison will be performing her first Strictly Come Dancing routine for the judges and viewers at home while Pete Wicks will be in the audience to support her friend.

Vicky Pattison is set to debut her first official dance on Strictly tonight, and her best mate Pete Wicks has promised to be front row cheering her on.

The Geordie Shore star was unveiled as part of the 2025 line-up in August and admitted she’s been “buzzing like an old fridge” since being paired with professional dancer Kai Widdrington.

In a post to her 5.5 million Instagram followers, Vicky wrote: “God I am so pleased the cat’s out the bag!!! Been hell trying to keep this one a secret!!!

I’m excited to be working with @kaiwidd and I’m excited to see what we’ve been working on for our first live show. OH NO WAY! I already adore my partner and my @bbcstrictly family, and this week has been crazy intense but incredible at the same time!

You got this, Pete Wicks said in a post that he had read. I’ll be in the front row. Vicky acknowledged that the Strictly launch show was a daunting experience despite her excitement.

While on her Get A Grip podcast with ex-contestant Angela Scanlon, she groaned: “No, it was the worst experience of my life… it does just make you cripplingly aware of how s***e you are if ya s***e, and I am s***e.”

She made fun of the fact that her sequined outfit made her feel like a “salad in a skin” and that producers had given her a unique girdle.

However, she was grateful for her fellow contestants, saying Ross King held her hand when he noticed she was nervous, while Dani Dyer “never left my side”. Vicky admitted that although she panicked at first, once she started dancing she “loved” it.

The 37-year-old TV personality hasn’t been short of supporters ahead of her first live routine tonight. She previously told the BBC that her “biggest cheerleaders” are her husband, Ercan Ramadan, as well as her family and friends.

Particularly encouraging has been Pete Wicks, who defeated Jowita Przystal to reach the Strictly semi-finals in 2024.

“Vicky explained that Pete was a total “fly by the seat of his pants” guy. He was shocked at how far he had to go each week! His counsel was to work hard, maintain a positive attitude, be yourself, and enjoy it. It’s really nice to have both of their viewpoints.

As the competition gets underway, Angela Scanlon has given Vicky advice on how to soak her feet in surgical spirits to ease the discomfort of protracted rehearsals.

Ten years on from her I’m A Celebrity win, Vicky says Strictly offers the chance to step outside her comfort zone. “As you get older you get fewer and fewer chances to truly push yourself and try something new,” she shared.

It’s very simple for me to remain comfortable, and I’m one of those people. offers an incredible opportunity to grow, whether it’s learning to dance, meeting new people, or just getting fitter. I’m so grateful for having the opportunity to discover what you can do.

Isla Fisher ‘not ready’ to date as she shifts focus onto career after Sacha Baron Cohen split

After 14 years of marriage, former Hollywood stars Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen split up in April of that year. The divorce was finalized two months later.

Isla Fisher is keeping herself busy with work following her divorce from ex-husband Sacha Baran Cohen after 14 years of marriage. The pair announced their divorce in April last year, with it being finalised just two months later in June.

The actress, 49, recently acknowledged that she is “not ready” to date again and that she is instead putting her own money into her acting career by producing two movies that are ready to be released. She has appeared in sporadic roles in movies recently.

However, she continued to star in Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, a romantic comedy about her split after being made public. It will be her busiest career milestone since 2016, with four movies scheduled to be released either this year or the following year.

On her roster are heist film Now You See Me Now: Now You Don’t, coming-of-age drama Jay Kelly and action comedy film Playdate alongside actor Kevin James. She was also spotted filming another comedy called Spa Weekend in Australia with Leslie Mann and Anna Faris.

The Wedding Crashers star revealed earlier this year that dating again following her split is the last thing on her mind. She told The Sunday Times: “That’s not on my to-do list. I’m not ready to think about any of that.”

After meeting her at Taika Waititi’s 50th birthday party in Ibiza last month, Sacha, 53, met Hannah Palmer, 27, at the model’s wedding earlier this week.

After dining together, the two were seen exiting a restaurant together, each time taking a different Cadillac Escalade limo.

However, despite rumours of the pair being on a date, a source has told Mirror that it isn’t what it seemed. They told the publication: “Someone seems to have been making mischief and trying put two and two together to make five.

They have met several times, have shared friends, and eventually got along, and Sacha has given her some acting and Hollywood advice.

This wasn’t a date, though. They both planned dinner ahead of the scheduled event because they were both attending the same event. And they parted ways once more after the event. ”

In 2001, Isla and Sacha first met at a party in Sydney, but they got married in 2014 and tied the knot in Paris with a Jewish ceremony.

She adopted the Jewish name Ayala, the Hebrew word for a doe, and claimed to be keeping the Jewish Sabbath after becoming a convert to his Judaism.

The former couple has three children together, but over the years, they have mostly kept them private.

After their divorce was finalized in June of last year, the two made a joint statement in which they vowed to stay friends. They claimed that the divorce has now been settled.

We are proud of what we’ve accomplished as parents of our wonderful children, and we’re still friends and committed to raising them together. “

We request that the media respect the privacy of our children, as stated in the statement. “

The couple announced their divorce in a prior joint statement that read, “We are finally putting our racquets down,” and that included a lengthy tennis match that spanned more than 20 years. “

Iran recalls envoys to UK, France, Germany as UN sanctions reimposed

According to state media, Iran has sent its envoys to the United Kingdom, France, and Germany for consultations after the three European nations instituted a mechanism that reinstated UN sanctions against the Islamic Republic for the first time in a decade.

Iran’s ambassadors to Germany, France, and the United Kingdom have been summoned to Tehran for consultations, according to state news agency Tasnim and others, following the irresponsible actions of the three European nations to reinstate UN Security Council resolutions.

Only four nations supported the draft resolution, which would allow for sanctions to be reimposed, so Russia and China made the decision the day after the 15-member UN Security Council’s failure to delay the lifting of the international sanctions against Iran.

Iran was accused of failing to come clean about its nuclear program, including through countermeasures it took in response to bombing by Israel and the United States during a 12-day conflict in June, which the E3 countries claimed killed more than 1, 000 people.

The sanctions, which are scheduled to take effect on Sunday at 00:00 GMT, will put an end to international cooperation with Iran in the fields of the nuclear, military, banking, and shipping industries. The rial, Iran’s national currency, hit record lows on Saturday, trading for more than 1.1 million US dollars in Tehran’s open market.

The International Atomic Energy Agency stated on Friday that some Iranian sites had resumed inspections this week, but it did not specify whether this included locations where nuclear weapons could be buried. These sites were also bombed by the US and Israel. Iran’s nuclear chief Mohammad Eslami once more criticized the UN nuclear watchdog for rejecting airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites at the World Atomic Week forum in Moscow.

The World Atomic Week international forum, an event held in Moscow, Russia on September 25, 2025, is led by Mohammad Eslami, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).

Over the past few days, at least two Iranian proposals to postpone snapback have been rejected by Western powers, claiming they did not see enough progress to support a delay following a week of top-level diplomacy at the UN General Assembly.

When, in his opinion, Israel and the US were attempting to use the pressure to overthrow the theocratic establishment, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said there was no reason to reach a deal.

Pezeshkian insisted once more that Iran will never pursue nuclear weapons, saying, “If the goal had been to resolve concerns about the nuclear programme, we could easily do that.”

He also accused the US of pressuring Europe to reject any compromise.

US envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, claimed on Wednesday that the country was open to further discussions but did not want to hurt Iran. However, he also claimed that snapback was “the right remedy for what’s happening.”

Iran is under new economic pressure as a result of the sanctions, but it’s not yet known whether all nations will follow their lead.

Russian deputy ambassador Dmitry Polyansky stated on Friday that Moscow, Iran’s main trading partner, viewed the lifting of sanctions as “null and void.”

Iran has already been subject to unilateral sanctions from the US and the E3, and Chinese companies have tried to stop buying Iranian oil. Chinese companies have been subject to a number of sanctions by the US for oil imports.

In his first term, Trump launched a “maximum pressure” campaign after withdrawing from a landmark 2015 nuclear deal that had demanded immediate sanctions in exchange for drastic restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program.

UNSC vote on Iran
During the 80th UN General Assembly in New York on September 26, 2025, UN Security Council members vote on a resolution by Russia and China to postpone imposing sanctions on Iran by six months.

The new sanctions represent a “snapback” of UN actions that were suspended as a result of the 2015 agreement.

In a defiant UN address on Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Israel to stop the snapback and suggested that Israel was prepared to attack Iran’s nuclear program once more.

Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to halting the sanctions by reneging on the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, warning that unnamed powers were seeking a “superficial pretext to set the region ablaze.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which led the Israeli airstrikes against Israel during the war, released a statement on Saturday to mark the one year since Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, senior IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan, and other people were killed in major Israeli air raids in Beirut.

The US and Israel have failed in their “vil plans,” according to the statement, adding that “active and smart resistance” is the only viable option for the region against Israeli “expansionism.”

The Supreme National Security Council of Iran’s secretary, Ali Larijani, was in Lebanon on Saturday to observe a ceremony to commemorate the anniversary, telling reporters that Israel has made it clear that it is showing “mercy to no country.”

New Zealand won the Bledisloe Cup by 33-24 in the Wallaby fightback, extending their 23-year winning streak to include the tournament.

A late Cam Roigard try by the All Blacks last weekend helped them recover from a record-setting defeat to South Africa, extending their unbeaten streak at Auckland’s Eden Park to 52 matches.

Before Saturday’s later game between the reigning Rugby Champions Springboks and Argentina, the team will leapfrog their rivals in the standings.

With winger Caleb Clarke crossing the line within three minutes and Leroy Carter and Roigard adding more tries to make it 20-3 midway through the first half, New Zealand made a strong start.

However, the Wallabies’ lead was reduced by a try from hooker Billy Pollard, and winger Harry Potter’s finish just before the half-time whistle left them with just three points.

The All Blacks took a big lead in the second half thanks to two penalties from Damian McKenzie, but a converted try from Wallaby flanker Carlo Tizzano completed the score in the final ten minutes, bringing the visitors to three points clear of their first victory in Auckland since 1986.

Roigard’s cross-over pass from Jordie Barrett sealed the win, however, by calming down home his emotions.

With just one game left, New Zealand currently leads the rugby championship, but South Africa will win in a later match against Argentina on Saturday.

Going into their final match of the tournament against the All Blacks in Perth next weekend, Australia is in second place with two victories and three losses.

Australia have lost 23 games in a row at Eden Park, breaking their previous record of 26 in 1986.

Richard Branson shows off nasty facial injury after slamming into hotel window

After crashing headfirst into a glass window and sharing photos of his facial injuries, billionaire business mogul Sir Richard Branson was left bloody but joking.

Sir Richard Branson has revealed a painful mishap in New York this week, after running “face first” into a window at one of his Virgin Hotels.

The 75-year-old billionaire shared photos of his bloodied cheek on Instagram but still managed to laugh at himself, joking, “Did you hear about the guy who ran into a window? He was in a lot of pane… This week, that guy was yours truly.”

Branson continued by stating that he had been dining with Planetary Guardians members in New York City and that Holganix had recently developed innovations in sustainable farming. He ran over to greet the Holganix team as they passed, but he slammed straight into a glass window. He wrote, “I ran face first into the window to catch up with them.” “I left a lot of a mark on the glass, and it also left a lot of a mark on me”!

He praised a woman named Elizabeth for catching him before he fell, saying, “Thankfully, there was no serious harm done. The cut is well-heeled, and I feel fine now. I’ll be sure to turn the other way in the interim”!

A highly regarded chef died in a tragic buggy crash at Branson’s £95, 000-a-night Necker Island retreat in the British Virgin Islands, shortly after the accident.

Sihle Somdaka, 37, a father-of-two and aspiring chef, died reportedly while driving down a steep hill at night. He had just recently attended the lavish Great House on the island.

Somdaka was taken by boat to Peebles Hospital on Tortola after emergency crews from nearby Moskito Island rushed to perform CPR, but sadly he passed away from a head injury.

Branson was not on the island at the time, but a source close to him claimed he had been in contact with island staff and family, and that he was “deeply saddened.”

They claimed that while Richard wasn’t on the island at the time of the incident, he had kept in touch with the family and the Necker Island team.

British Virgin Islands police have launched an exhaustive investigation. According to one insider, the island had a “culture of excess,” warning that “it shouldn’t have happened, but it was only a matter of time.”

Moving on to the jewelry. The jewelry inside, which is made of silver-plated brass, is all adjustable to fit the wearer, keeping with a one-size fits all philosophy.

One bracelet has elastic on its end, and the other has a lengthener on its chain, which can be adjusted by pulling the chain through rather than using a clasp, as an example of the star-embellished ring can be tightened or loosened by pushing it shut. The bracelets are also suitable for several layers. Both have heart-shaped charms, and the other has adorable stars.

The A Little Bracelet can also be personalized with your loved one’s name and handpicked charms, which is a lovely extra-special touch for anyone receiving the box.

They also have gorgeous quality, look lovely, bright, and are a little delicate, which is great for those who enjoy a little bit of glamour without being overly glamorous. The advent calendar contains a small pair of hoops with cosmic stars etched on them, as well as heart-shaped studs, making up a lovely little ear stack, which includes two pairs of earrings inside.

The necklace is adjustable in length, matches the bracelet, and is a dainty piece that hasn’t appeared to tarnish while in the shower or from being worn for days on end, demonstrating its quality.

The jewelry selection can all be worn together because they all have the same theme woven into their designs, which is a nice touch when trying to be matchy-matchy. The only issue with the ring is that it wasn’t quite my style and that it didn’t feel particularly secure despite being a one-size fits all. Although it could be pressed shut if worn on my finger, it is possible.
