Thomas Skinner says he’s abused by strangers as he shares bitter regret at Strictly

Strictly Come Dancing is back on our screens for another year but Tom Skinner was the first one to be sent home from the show

Thomas Skinner has said he is abused by strangers as he shared his bitter regret at doing Strictly Come Dancing. The former Apprentice star took to social media to express why he wishes he never entered the dance show in the first place.

Tom was the first person to leave the programme after performing his Salsa with professional dancer Amy Dowden. However, despite seeming to enjoy his time on the show, he has now changed his mind.

The dad-of-three has said he feels like he “can’t do anything right” after leaving the BBC dace competition. Tom explained that all her tries to do is “spread positivity” online but feels like all he’s getting is backlash.

Writing on X, he said: “I’ve had enough of all this b******* I can’t do anything right now without someone critising me. Or Making me do something against my will. It’s b*******. I wish I never done strictly, I never fitted the bill for that show let’s be honest. And It’s Caused me nothing but agg. Constant absuse.

“All I f****** do is try to spread positivity online. I can’t walk anywhere without people knowing who I am. I’ve had a narrative spun against me so People always have an opinion on me now that they didn’t 3 months ago. I’ve heard so many lies said and told about me.

“It’s driving me mad. I’ve had a constant pile on of abuse over the last month like I’m a mass murderer. It’s b*******. I went out to work in my van this morning and I’m either getting beeped at or people putting their thumb up at me.”

Tom went on to add that he’s “had enough” after feeling that people he has supported are “starting to turn on [him]” because of what is being said about him online. He told fans that he would be taking a break from being online to concentrate on him and his family.

Tom added: “I ain’t one to admit I’m struggling. But I am. I’m honestly tired of all this nonsense. Can no one see what’s happening to me, I don’t know why I’ve become this target. I’ve always been the one that’s been solid. But I’ve really really had enough now.”

He signed off his message with his catchphrase “bosh” and a red heart emoji. Tom was the first celebrity contestant to be booted off the show in this year’s series.

He was up against rugby player Chris Robshaw in the bottom two, but judges unanimously chose to save Chris. Speaking on the show, Tom told host Tess Daly: “I’ve loved it. I’ve never danced before and my stay was short, but Amy’s amazing. It’s been great fun and I’ve enjoyed it. I can’t really dance that well but I’ve had fun! Thank you, Amy – sorry that we haven’t done too good, ‘cause you’re a different class.”

Liam Payne seen hours before death in new photos as cleaner claims ‘biggest mistake’

One Direction singer Liam Payne tragically died last year following a fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina, as a jailed clear has claimed the hotel made a ‘big mistake’

New photos of Liam Payne just hours before his tragic death have been published a year on. The One Direction star tragically died aged 31 following a fall from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, one year ago today.

Police are still attempting to piece together the singer’s final hours, when he was left alone in the South American country when his girlfriend Kate Cassidy decided to return home. Two suspects have been charged with supplying drugs, and both deny the allegations.

No trial date has been set, and it has been reported that local police are going through over 800 hours of CCTV footage, as well as trawling through Liam’s personal laptop and the mobile phones of those connected to his death. Cleaner Ezequiel David Pereyra, 22, has been locked up and has spoken for the first time from jail.

He is awaiting trial for allegedly selling Liam cocaine. Pereyra has claimed Casa Sur Palermo hotel bosses turned a blind eye to Liam’s drug use during his stay.

The cleaner claimed the hotel had Liam in “an isolated bunker” and “let him do anything he wanted” because “he was making them too much money.” Pereyra told The Sun: “But I think the biggest mistake was not calling an ambulance when Payne passed out in the lobby.

“If the hotel had acted differently, Liam could have been saved.” He claimed Liam shouldn’t have been taken from the lobby, and an ambulance should’ve been called instead.

Pereyra claimed Liam was moved from the lobby “because that day they had many foreign guests checking in”. Detailing the tragic moments that followed, the cleaner said the bosses called police instead of an ambulance after leaving Liam in his room alone.

He said by the time they made the call, “it was already too late.” Pereyra claimed Liam’s death could have been prevented and was “very sad”.

Pereyra was charged in January, and waiter Braian Nahuel Paiz, 25, is also accused of supplying cocaine. They both face 15 years in jail if convicted.

New photos obtained by the publication have shown Liam outside the hotel at 3.48pm and another still from 4.28pm showed him reclining on a lobby sofa with his laptop and bottles nearby.

Paiz has admitted to taking drugs with Liam but vehemently denies supplying them. Court documents show that he is charged with selling cocaine to Liam, two days before the star tragically died.

“I wish he hadn’t died and things were different. I used to feel regret about what happened, but actually I don’t regret meeting him as he was my idol and I was a big fan,” he told the outlet. He stated he didn’t sell drugs to Liam as he didn’t take any money from him.

Liam’s death was caused by “multiple trauma” and “internal and external bleeding”. At the time of his death, according to the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14, Liam was three times the US legal drink driving limit.

His blood showed traces of alcohol, cocaine and prescription anti-depressants, which would have left him severely impaired. Liam had flown to Argentina for a five-day holiday with Kate to see his ex-bandmate Niall Horan’s show.

United Rugby Championship: Dragons v Cardiff

Venue: Rodney Parade, Newport Date: Friday, 17 October Kick-off: 19:45 BST

Cardiff number eight Taulupe Faletau has given Wales a boost before the autumn internationals by returning to face Dragons in the United Rugby Championship derby.

The 34-year-old will play his first game of the season after recovering from a calf injury and faces Wales rival Aaron Wainwright on Friday night.

“We know what he can do. Hopefully he can bring that to the pitch.”

Dragons head coach Filo Tiatia has made 10 personnel changes from the side that lost 49-0 to Glasgow.

Dragons aim to end Cardiff decade of dominance

Aaron Wainwright in action for Dragons against SharksHuw Evans Picture Agency

Dragons are looking to end Cardiff’s decade of dominance in the east Wales derby.

Dragons have lost 19 matches in all competitions against Cardiff and the past 20 league matches between the two sides, which includes the Rainbow Cup fixture in 2021.

Cardiff’s previous league defeat in this fixture came in December 2014, while Dragons’ last win was a Challenge Cup quarter-final success in April 2015.

“We have spoken about what this fixture means to us,” said Wainwright.

“It’s not something to be proud of, having a record like that against them.

“I have been at Dragons all my career and haven’t beaten Cardiff, so that’s definitely an achievement I want to get this weekend.”

Wainwright was part of the Wales team that ended an 18-match losing streak by defeating Japan in July.

“In my head, going through the period we’ve gone through with Wales, being able to put that to bed, that’s sort of a similar mindset going into this weekend,” said Wainwright, who added beating Cardiff “would be a nice double”.

“Cardiff will have that edge about them and think they can just turn up and roll over over us.

Cardiff wary of much-changed Dragons

Cardiff have started the season with two wins in three games and lie fourth in the URC table.

Dragons have gone 20 games without winning a league match since defeating Ospreys in September 2024 but van Zyl is wary of their local rivals.

“It’s a Welsh derby, which are always tight affairs and Rodney Parade is a tough place to go,” said van Zyl.

“The Dragons rotated their team a bit last week, so they will be fresh and hugely motivated to take us on.

“They will throw everything at us, but we are excited by the challenge.”

Dragons: O’Brien (co-capt); Dyer, Owen, Ackerman, Inisi; de Beer, R Williams; W Jones, Coghlan, Hunt, S Davies, Carter (co-capt), Lewis-Hughes, Beddall, Wainwright.

Irish TikTok sensation favourite to win Mercury Prize 2025 for album of the year

CMAT has had social media in a frenzy with her witty country style songs, but now her talent has brought her to be nominated to win a mercury prize and critics believe she’s the leading contender

The Mercury Prize Awards show is set to take place on October 16 at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, but fans are already betting there’s one clear frontrunner: Irish singer-songwriter CMAT, following the release of her third album, Euro-Country.

Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, better known as CMAT, has been on a rise since supporting indie star Sam Fender on tour. But her success started long before that during lockdown, her witty country-pop storytelling earned her a loyal fan base across Ireland, turning her into what she calls a “big fat pop star.”

Since then, her songs and personality have taken her far beyond Dublin. With hits like Take a Sexy Picture of Me and Stay for Something, CMAT has built a devoted following across the UK, Europe, the US and Australia mixing humour, heartbreak and a little bit of chaos into her sound.

But one song in particular has taken social media by a storm, ‘take a sexy picture of me’, as it started a new Tiktok dance, and has seen many take to the app to mime the lyrics, marking 169k post under the sound.

And other stars have endorsed the song describe as the ‘woke macarena’, Lola Young has learnt the dance, Julia Fox, Chicken shop’s Amelia Dimoldenberg and Liz Gillies, just to name a few.

However while the song is gaining popularity, CMAT describes it as a sad song, “If we’re dealing with a song that’s as dark as this, and as grim as this, we have to make it a bit funny,” she said. “The thing with this song was, I wanted it to sound joyous and uplifting to sing but also to be a bit of a rallying cry.”

Labuschagne hits another ton to push for Ashes recall

A resurgent Marnus Labuschagne scored his fourth century in five innings to further press his case for a recall to Australia’s side for the Ashes.

The 31-year-old batter scored 159 on day two of Queensland’s Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, which follows scores of 130 and 105 in Australia’s domestic 50-over competition and 160 in the previous round of red-ball matches.

Labuschagne, who has scored 11 hundreds in 58 Tests, was dropped for Australia’s three-Test series against West Indies this summer after a poor run of form.

A return to form for Labuschagne would not entirely solve the issues Australia have around their batting line-up for the first Test against England at Perth on 21 November.

He was pushed up to open in his most recent Test – the World Test Championship final defeat by South Africa in which he returned scores of 17 and 22 – but has been batting at his previous position of number three for Queensland.

Were he to return at number three, the position he has scored all of his Test hundreds, Australia would still be looking for at least one opener.

Twenty-year-old Sam Konstas played in West Indies but managed only 50 runs across six innings. Though he scored a century for Australia A in India last month he has not passed 50 in four innings in domestic cricket this season and was dismissed by Scott Boland for a four-ball duck on Wednesday.

Tasmania’s uncapped opener Jake Weatherald, 30, scored a 99-ball 94 on day two of a low-scoring match against Western Australia on Thursday to push his case.

If Labuschagne returned as an opener then it would allow Australia to pick Cameron Green at number three and retain fellow all-rounder Beau Webster in the middle order, though Green only has one fifty in eight innings in that position since being pushed up the order for the Test final against South Africa.
