We should expect to see some huge stars enter the Celebrity Traitors castle next year, Faithful Lucy Beaumont believes. The contestant from the first series believes the BBC hit’s overwhelming success means there could be A-Listers aplenty putting their hands up to have a go at the ultimate game of deceit and betrayal.
The comic revealed the cast all still stay in touch via a WhatsApp group and she doesn’t think bosses will have any problem at all recruiting big names when the programme returns. More than 15 million people watched Alan Carr go all the way in October, double-crossing rugby legend Joe Marler and Ted Lasso’s Nick Mohammed in a breathless finale.
Lucy says the show was so well-liked that little children were posing for photos with her while she was buying her milk and bread, knowing it will be easy to sell to celebrities.

“I’m suddenly really popular with nine-year-old children,” she told The Mirror. “It’s so weird. I was in co-op just doing some shopping and there was a line of just really young children wanting a photo. Younger kids really got into it, which I don’t think anyone was expecting.
I only watched one television show. After everyone else, I watched really late. I do that because I only recently watched Lost, which was 30 years ago! The format was really clever, which I liked. People who would behave hostile toward one another didn’t really matter to the producers, which was very important. Similarly, David [Olusoga] was there. One of the nicest people I’ve ever met in television is genuinely him. He would probably start having a fight with no one!
When she inquired if some big names would follow after its debut success, she responded, “Oh, yes. Nobody would want to do it, in my opinion. It is simply incredible large. Nobody for weeks was talking about Alan. Everyone wants to do it, I’d imagine, but you can’t really get any bigger than Stephen Fry, can you?
She went on to explain what we don’t see and said, “It was full of just genuinely really lovely people. Everyone had a fantastic time. We all maintain contact, and we are all a part of a sizable WhatsApp group. You didn’t really feel like it was for TV because you couldn’t see cameras outside, so it was like a staff team bonding get-away.

Charlie Smyth had been having dreams since he was a teenager.
He had always been interested in the NFL, despite having played gaelic football as a child in County Down.
He had already sent an email to the NFL asking how to get involved as far back as 2019 because of his desire to play American football.
However, he was soon switching from a promising sporting career to an NFL career in 2024 through the International Player Pathway.
He impressed the New Orleans Saints, and he was chosen for their practice squad this year.
The Saints then suddenly announced that the 24-year-old and veteran kicker Cade York were competing for the starting spot against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday when regular kicker Blake Grupe was traded.
Smyth received the news from Phil Galiano, the Saints’ special teams coordinator, after a lot of frantic fighting.
Because of how the practice week went, Smyth told Thomas Niblock of BBC Sport NI, “I was at peace with whatever was going to happen, whether I was playing or not.”
“It was a little emotional when he told me I was playing.” What if I ever had the chance to do this when I was 16 or 17 years old? ‘.
