However, if you didn’t manage to get your hands on one, don’t worry, because M&S has done it again.

Its latest outerwear drop sees a check car coat that rivals the popular barn jacket. The new £75 coat has caught attention for its timeless design and sleek look. With checks still dominating the high street, it’s no surprise to see M&S releasing another jacket in the popular print.

The faux leather collar adds a slight modern touch to the heritage-inspired style, while the handy pockets and sharp silhouette make it practical for daily wear. Plus, its tailored silhouette and vintage pattern make the coat look far more expensive than its £75 price tag.

Shoppers have already started leaving 5-star reviews, with one shopper writing: “Beautiful coat, a perfect fit, classy. I feel good when I wear it. Love it.”

While a second added: “Really pleased with this coat, good fabric and the collar makes it look expensive, I like the check pattern as it will go with a lot of things. One thing I wasn’t keen on though was the brass buttons. I have changed these and it has made a big difference.”

Gaza City residents set to return as Israel bombs before ceasefire starts

Palestinian families have begun returning to Gaza City as Israel continued deadly attacks on the enclave, despite signing the first phase of a ceasefire deal paving the way for fighting to stop in the next 24 hours.

As displaced families from the southern parts of the enclave moved north on Friday, Israel launched a deadly attack from helicopters on a site east of Gaza City and conducted air strikes in the southern Khan Younis area, according to Al Jazeera Arabic.

Sources at Gaza City’s al-Ahli Hospital confirmed to Al Jazeera that the bodies of seven people had been recovered from several areas in Gaza City since Friday morning.

There were no initial reports of casualties in the attacks on Khan Younis, which also included rounds of shelling and heavy tank fire north of the city, according to Al Jazeera Arabic.

The attacks are the first to be reported in Gaza since Israel’s government ratified the first phase of a ceasefire deal with Hamas late on Thursday night.

The attacks took place as Al Jazeera’s team on the ground reported Israel had started to pull its troops back behind the line agreed under the Gaza deal.

“What is controversial is that there has been high activity of Israeli drones, fighter jets and even warships from the early hours of this morning,” said Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Nuseirat in Deir el-Balah, central Gaza.

Abu Azzoum said families had started moving towards the north of the Strip, but were still waiting to enter the areas in the Netzarim Corridor, where the Israeli army used to operate.

“They are waiting for the last Israeli tank to leave the region to enter the territory,” he said.

Gaza’s civil defence warned people to keep away from the border areas of Gaza City until the official announcement of the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

Earlier, Israel’s government approved “phase one” of a ceasefire agreement, which will see captives exchanged and Israel withdraw from parts of Gaza, but details of how it fits into a wider plan to bring lasting peace, if at all, remain unclear.

Khalil al-Hayya, the head of Hamas’s negotiating team, said the group has received guarantees from the United States and mediators that an agreement on a first phase of the ceasefire agreement means the war in Gaza “has ended completely”.

The Israeli government’s ratification of the peace plan, which was confirmed in the early hours of Friday morning, paves the way for fighting in Gaza to stop within 24 hours, while Hamas has been given a 72-hour timeline to free Israeli captives.

Palestine’s Quds News Network reported that Gaza residents who left the Strip from Egypt will be allowed to return home through the Rafah crossing for the first time since October 7, 2023. Gaza residents will also be allowed to exit to Egypt.

Robbie Williams in sweary Taylor Swift rant as he performs in 600-capacity venue

Singer Robbie Williams opens up about Taylor Swift during the smallest show of his career which ended at 1am, as well as his wife Ayda and Oasis

Singer Robbie Williams has told for the first time how he delayed his album to avoid a chart battle with Taylor Swift as he performed the smallest gig of his career. The star also opened up about wife Ayda, his feud with Oasis and daughter Teddy during the two-hour show at London’s Dingwalls, which ended at 1am.

Robbie showed off his new beefed-up physique to the 600-strong crowd during the electric gig, saying: “I want to perform as Robert this evening…and it turns out Robert is in really good, f****** shape.” He then admitted that the decision to move his new album Britop to February was after Taylor Swift released The Life of a Showgirl, and he had been aiming for a record-breaking 16th Number One album.

He said: “We had to make a decision because Taylor Swift….we are all pretending its not about Taylor Swift but is f****** is. It is isn’t it? Here’s the truth right….I want 16 number one albums. Taylor decided to put her album out the same week as me and I thought: ‘for f***’s sake.” I was like: ‘can I put it out the next week’ and they said ‘she does these other deluxe versions’ and I thought: ‘f****** hell, can I put it out the week after that then, and they said it’s Oasis [live album from Wembley]. I thought: ‘for f****’s sake, I will do it in f***** February when nobody has got a f****** album out.’ I was worried about making you all f****** wait but then I thought f*** it I want a 16th Number One album. I am sorry but I am f****** being selfish. How many times in your life do you get to have the most UK Number Ones albums anyone has ever had.”

He also hit out at long-standing rival Noel Gallagher, who he famously feuded with in the 1990s. After joking about the similarity of his new song Spies to Oasis’ song Champagne Supernova, he began singing the latter song before adding: ““You wouldn’t believe the amount of times that melody changed in that chorus because it sounded like the song that it still f****** sounds like. It’s totally f****** different Noel. Don’t have a brass neck and sue me….all the f****** things you’ve nicked.”

On wife Ayda – who was in the audience – he said he had written song Pretty Face about her. He said: “We spend a lot of time on tour away from each other…I get star-struck looking at the beauty of my wife. This song is about her, and my favourite line is the one which says: ‘and the biggest prize is what’s behind those eyes.’ And its true. She may be pretty as f*** but she is smart as f*** too.”

He also opened up about his daughter Ted’s musical talent. “My eldest daughter Theodora Rose turned 13 last month, and she is always writing songs. She was able to do it as a six and seven year old. She just makes some melodies and they fall out of her like a fountain.”

The gig coincided with Robbie announcing a run of shows in England and Scotland that will coincide with the album release. The Long 90’s Tour kicks off in Glasgow at Barrowlands Ballroom on February 4 2026, with Williams playing Liverpool Olympia on the day of the album’s release, February 6.

The 51-year-old will also play 02 Academy Brixton in London on February 8 and Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall on February 9. The tour announcement coincides with the release of Williams’ latest single, Pretty Face.

Musicians including Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Supergrass’ Gaz Coombes, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and Williams’ former Take That bandmate Gary Barlow appear on the album. The Britpop cover shows Williams in his red tracksuit outfit that he wore to attend Glastonbury Festival in 1995, at the height of the Britpop era.

Fans who pre-order ‘BRITPOP’ from the Robbie Williams store will receive early access to tickets for the new live dates. Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday 28th November. More information at britpop.robbiewilliams.com

How Peters turned Hull KR into treble contenders

To play this video you need to enable JavaScript in your browser.

The most recent items of silverware in Hull KR’s trophy cabinet when Willie Peters arrived as head coach in the winter of 2022 were the one-off Challenge Plate from a rare visit to Wembley in 1997, and a handful of subsequent second-tier honours.

It had been nearly 40 years since the Robins genuinely sat at the top of the rugby league tree, as champions in 1984-85.

Since, they had narrowly avoided liquidation, overcome administration, dipped in and out of the top flight and finished bottom of the table as recently as 2020.

Predecessor Tony Smith had helped repair Rovers, bringing a play-off campaign in 2021 and a Challenge Cup semi-final in 2022, but his mid-season exit in that year culminated in the club missing out on the top six.

What was to happen next has turned Hull KR into a genuine force, breaking that long-standing trophy duck and bringing them within 80 minutes of a treble success.

Peters’ magic touch has been keenly felt in East Hull. The Challenge Cup that ended that long wait back in June and now the Super League Leaders’ Shield have been installed in that cabinet.

Super League Grand Final: Hull KR v Wigan

‘Emotions of winning’

At around 5ft 5in (1.65m) tall, Willie Peters was a crafty, skilful “larrikin” half-back as a player who made the grade in Australia’s National Rugby League with South Sydney, but then switched to the other side of the world to join new Super League franchise Gateshead Thunder in 1999.

Wigan came calling in 2000, and he featured in that season’s Grand Final against St Helens before heading back to Australia to play for St George Illawarra and then Souths again before a short stint at Widnes brought his career to an end.

It was those opportunities that prompted Peters to move from an established assistant with spells at Manly, Souths and Newcastle to take on the top job in an environment on the other side of the world.

His enthusiasm for the game, respect for the competition and shrewd eye helped launch Rovers from the start.

In 2023, they reached the Challenge Cup final before losing to Leigh in golden point, and in 2024, they made the Grand Final before bowing out to Bevan French’s brilliance in a narrow defeat by old team Wigan.

However, 2025 saw that disappointment finally banished by Rovers, with silverware stacking up.

Peters sold his players the ambition but also the reason why. For themselves, for the club, and equally as importantly – the community.

“It’s really addictive, the feeling of winning,” captain Elliot Minchella told BBC Sport. “It’s something you can’t measure, compared to anything else I’ve ever felt before.

“I want to go through those feelings again, those emotions of winning, seeing the emotions flood out of thousands of people, but also the people at the top of our club, the owners, board of directors, to see the joy that it brought to them, the relief. That’s a massive privilege to be able to give those people that emotion.

Success earned under Peters, but how?

Everyone you speak to about Willie Peters says the same words: meticulous, diligent, thorough.

He is a coach that leaves little to chance, he prepares players with detail, and has a solid group of coaches in Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Danny Ward and David Hodgson to support.

But there is also his personal touch.

“My number one coaching philosophy is around relationships,” Peters told BBC Radio 5 Live. “That’s the first and foremost for me, building strong relationships is what I value the most.

“I have a high level of care for the players and staff and people around me, and that’s another area.

To play this video you need to enable JavaScript in your browser.

Empathy is backed up by tactical nous. Peters’ players have a game plan to suffocate teams, grind them down with intensity, and allow their mavericks to take hold.

Among those are 2024 Man of Steel Mikey Lewis and his fellow 2025 Dream Team selection Jez Litten, both of whom have stepped up more than a notch under the boss’ nurture.

“Life has its ups and downs, and you see the resilience that players have got to get through certain things, and it’s a rewarding part of the job to get to watch people grow as people and also as players, which is what they’re obviously here to do,” Peters added.

“But, it’s the off-field side that you get a lot of enjoyment from. Jez Litten is one for me; the growth in him over the past year has been exceptional. It’s no coincidence; it’s because he’s become a father. Mikey Lewis too, he’s become a father.

‘Coach, mentor, mate’ – Peters the boss

SWPIX

If there was ever a barometer for Peters’ influence at Hull KR, it is the emergence of Minchella.

Cut by Leeds, the 30-year-old from Bradford had to rebuild his career while working on a building site.

His zig-zagging journey to becoming a Wembley winner took in London Broncos, Sheffield Eagles and Bradford Bulls before pitching up at Rovers in 2020.

Minchella has become a fulcrum in the team: a first pick, a leader, and the first captain to lift a major piece of silverware since their 1985 title.

“Willie’s a coach, he’s a mentor, he’s a mate,” he said. “He sometimes says some stern words to me, but he’s brought the absolute best out of me in the three years he’s been here.

“He’s taken my game to another level. I’ve so much respect for him and what he has done for me. The time he has devoted to the team, his commitment to the club – he just wants you to succeed.

Family man with devotion to the game

It sums up Peters’ magnetic personality and devotion to his craft that his wife, Kera, and his kids are completely invested in his rugby league journey on this side of the world.

The 46-year-old will be joining up with the Australia coaching staff once his Robins commitments are complete, having cancelled the family holiday to be part of the Ashes series against England.

Most importantly, on one of the proudest nights of his career, Peters will have sons Mason and Jaxon walking out alongside him as he guides Hull KR onto the turf for their big night under the lights.

“It’s a proud moment; they were a good luck charm for Wembley, so hopefully they can do it again,” said Peters.

“They’re everything to me. They’ve supported this journey, they’re loving it so we have to make sure we keep going. That’s how invested the family is.”

Owner Neil Hudgell and chief executive Paul Lakin deserve immense credit for what they have established at Hull KR off the field, and their decision to take a chance on Peters.

Through rebranding, securing lucrative sponsors and generating a buzz, aligned with the on-field successes, Hull KR games are an event with packed crowds and a tangible crackle of excitement.

Like all competitive coaches, Peters wants the treble on Saturday and to win at Old Trafford to make Hull KR only the fifth club to win the Super League title.

Yet there has been so much more than silverware that has made his time at Craven Park so far a success; it reaches to a greater level than prizes.

Jeremy Clarkson’s savage swipe as star ‘leaves’ Diddly Squat for new project

Kaleb Cooper is heading to Australia on a new farming adventure for Amazon Prime Video – and his boss in Chipping Norton, Jeremy Clarkson, had some choice words about the move

Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper’s recent career news prompted his co-star and boss, Jeremy Clarkson, to take a savage swipe at him on Thursday (October 9). Diddly Squat farmer Kaleb took to Instagram to reveal he’s embarking on adventure on the other side of the world to work on a new Prime Video show.

“I’ve got some news!” he exclaimed. “I’m going to be going down under/to Australia to film my very own series on Prime Video. You know hard it is for me to leave Chippy so flying to Australia is definitely taking me out of my comfort zone. But I’m on a mission to see if I can make my farming contracting business go international.”

Meanwhile, 65-year-old Jeremy was quick to respond with an hilarious message for his most famous employee.

“I’m so happy about this,” he said. “Because finally I can run my farm without him mucking everything up.”

One Clarkson’s Farm fan told Jeremy in reply: “I’m pretty sure he is probably thinking the same about you haha.”

Kaleb’s wife, Taya, also weighed in. The mum-of-three, who appears not to be journeying to Australia with Kaleb at this point, said: “Peace and quiet for me! Gonna miss you really. So proud of you for doing something way out your comfort zone! Can’t wait to hear all about it!”

Hundreds of other Instagram users wished Kaleb well, including one who wrote: “Congratulations mate – you are gonna love Australia – some of it will feel like home but just with funny accents… some of it really won’t. I have no doubt you will throw yourself fully into the experience. Good luck and be safe.”

Meanwhile, a second person declared: “You got this Kaleb! Looking forward to seeing you take on barren deserts and dense outback foliage. The flight will be a piece of cake; get Prime/Amazon to upgrade you to first class and you’ll get your own little cabin to chill in for the 23-hour flight!”

Kaleb rose to fame on Prime Video in 2021, proving himself invaluable to Jeremy as he took up the challenge of running Diddly Squat farm in Oxfordshire.

Jeremy revealed in his own Instagram post last week that the filming of Season Five of Clarkson’s Farm had just “wrapped”. It is set to air in 2026, although the exact date has not yet been announced. Kaleb will still feature on the new series.

Prime Video’s synopsis of his forthcoming programme states: “With aspirations to grow his business, Kaleb will experience farming at a scale he’s never encountered before -stretching thousands of acres across Australia’s vast landscape.

“Throughout his journey, Kaleb will meet his Australian peers and immerse himself in the local culture while exploring how farmers operate in this challenging environment.

“Viewers will see Kaleb taking on new challenges that are a world away from his familiar routines in Chipping Norton.

“And it’s no holiday-Kaleb won’t shy away from the gritty realities of farm work while he’s out there-blisters, burns, backaches and all.”
