Ronnie O’Sullivan, the eighth-time champion, was eliminated from the UK Championship on Tuesday after being shocked by Zhou Yuelong’s shock 6-4 defeat in the first round at York Barbican.
O’Sullivan, who turns 50 on Friday, was playing his first match since May’s World Championship semi-final defeat to Zhao Xintong, who lost 17-7.
O’Sullivan lost four frames on the black, including the seventh frame when he had led 64-0 before losing it 65-64 despite breaking quickly and entertaining records for 71, 123, 62, 94, 65, and 56 against Zhou.
Zhou, who finished 29th overall in the world rankings, never lost hope and won with a score of 125 frames.
Early in the ninth frame, he had a chance to win. However, a second chance quickly appeared.
O’Sullivan had a 58-46 lead in frame 10, but Zhou lost position when switching from yellow to green, which gave him a superb victory.
Englishman O’Sullivan, who is regarded by many as the greatest snooker player ever, now lives with his family in Dubai and is much more selective about what happens at his events.
In each of their previous seven meetings, he had defeated Zhou, who is 27 years old, but this result shows that China is facing a fierce challenge, with seven Chinese players in the last 16.
Mark Selby, the two-time UK champion, won the match with a 6-2 victory over Lei Peifan, the qualifier from China.
Before Lei won two frames in a row to keep his hopes alive, Selby broke the frames 51, 82, 75, and 133 to advance 5-0. However, the Englishman won the eighth frame to advance.

The future of Meghan’s lifestyle program With Love may be in jeopardy as the Duchess of Sussex’s divisive Christmas holiday special approaches.

With Meghan Markle ’s holiday special premiering on Netflix in mere hours, a PR expert believes that the future of her lifestyle show With Love, Meghan all rides on how well the Christmas programme is received.
The With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration will air on Wednesday, showing the Duchess of Sussex being joined by a range of guests to take part in festive cooking and crafts, all while spreading Christmas cheer. “I love the holiday season,” Meghan says in a voiceover on the trailer, posted to her Instagram. “It’s about finding time to connect with the people we love, embracing traditions, and making new ones.”

The show’s future may be in jeopardy if some fans have expressed their excitement over the festive program online. However, a public relations expert has discovered that if the one-off holiday episode doesn’t generate significant viewership, it might be in jeopardy.
With Love, Meghan’s second season, which was released in August, faced incredibly harsh criticism and failed to rank among the top ten on the streaming service. The Christmas-themed episode will provide the foundation for the show’s future because season three is yet to be announced.
PR Expert Mayah Riaz told the Mirror: “Given that the second season of With Love, Meghan didn’t generate significant viewing numbers, this holiday programme may very well act as an informal test for Netflix to see whether there is still enough audience appetite to justify a third season. The timing also suggests that Netflix might be hoping the holiday season can inject some fresh momentum into the franchise, especially since it’s airing so soon after Season 2.
Without prior authorization, content cannot be displayed.
Riaz continued, “The performance from the previous season can’t be ignored when it comes to the future of the series.” Some critics criticized the format as contrived or lacking in spark, and Season 2 didn’t make Netflix’s Top 10 in some key markets.
Because of this, Netflix’s decision to pursue a third season may be inferred by the fact that the Christmas special also struggles to attract strong viewership. Despite that, the show serves as an extension of her larger, more inclusive lifestyle brand, so Netflix’s value is not solely based on ratings.
Before making a final decision, Netflix may still weigh brand synergy and overall commercial alignment, even if the special performs poorly.
Mayah believes Meghan appeared “warm, cozy, and purposefully relatable” despite admitting that the duchess is very divided. However, the trailer for the festive episode drew harsh criticism.
She remarked, “The imagery is clearly curated to evoke domestic charm and authenticity.” That tone is likely to resonate with fans who already have feelings for her. She is still a very polarizing figure, though, and the highly polished presentation may come off as overly polished or a little overly well-made for viewers who are skeptical.
Despite the pressures of needing a success with Netflix, Meghan should avoid placing too much pressure on her holiday-themed episode, Mayah added, and should develop her lifestyle brand As Ever while Netflix weighs their options.

The PR expert argued that instead of putting hopes on the revival of the franchise, I would position the Christmas special as a heartfelt, standalone gesture meant to offer warmth and connection.
In the event that this is the series’ final installment, “I’d also make sure the messaging protects her image,” according to the actress, while still making use of the series’ positive, family-focused themes to advance her lifestyle brand, regardless of the viewership results.”

After receiving a pardon from US President Donald Trump, authorities in the United States released former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was serving a lengthy prison sentence for drug trafficking.
The former Honduran president was freed on Tuesday, one day after receiving a pardon, according to Hernandez’s attorney, Renato Stabile.

“President Trump has signed a full and unconditional pardon, effective December 1, 2025.” Stabile, a spokesperson for President Hernandez, announced his release early this morning in an email to Al Jazeera.
After serving more than three years in a US prison, Hernandez was released from a detention facility in West Virginia.
Hernandez was given a 45-year sentence last year for participating in a “one of the largest and most violent drug trafficking conspiracies in the world” for his involvement in a scheme to export cocaine to the US.
Trump made the announcement last week that he would pardon the former Honduran president by calling on the country’s citizens to support Nasry “Tito” Asfura, a member of Hernandez’s party.
In a social media post on Tuesday, Trump stated that “I will be granting a Full and Complete Pardon to Former President Juan Orlando Hernandez who has been treated very harshly and unfairly by many people who I respect.”
“This cannot be allowed to occur, especially now that Tito Asfura has won the election and Honduras is on its way to a great political and financial success,” he said.
Hernandez was found guilty of accepting millions of dollars in bribes from violent drug-trafficking groups over the course of 18 years, which helped him advance politically.
After serving his sentence last year, the US Justice Department claimed that Hernandez “abused his powerful positions and authority in Honduras to facilitate the import of more 400 tons of cocaine into the US.”
“Hernandez’s co-conspirators used machine guns and destructive weapons, including AK-47s, AR-15s, and grenade launchers, to protect their massive cocaine loads as they traveled across Honduras on their way to the United States, protect the money they earned from the eventual sale of this cocaine, and guard their drug-trafficking territory from rivals,” Hernandez said.
Hernandez argued during his trial that he had stepped up his crackdown on the drug trade and cited the US military’s cooperation with his administration. He also disputed Hernandez’ claim that he had taken bribes from drug dealers.
Trump’s pardon of Hernandez comes as his administration is launch deadly airstrikes against vessels it claims are carrying drugs in the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, a campaign that critics claim violates both domestic and international law.
After accusing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro of leading a drug cartel that the US labeled a “terrorist” group, Trump has also been making threats against him.
Washington has increased its military presence in the Caribbean in what it refers to as an anti-drug trafficking operation, which has sparked rumors about a possible conflict to overthrow Maduro.
The Trump administration’s policy toward Latin America has been criticized more recently for pardoning Hernandez.
Juan Orlando Hernandez, president, aided El Chapo and the Sinaloa Cartel in importing deadly drugs into the country. In a Monday social media post, Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto criticized “the drugs that killed Americans.”
Trump, however, allows this criminal to go free instead of standing up for the law enforcement who sent Hernandez to justice.
Elections were held on Sunday in Honduras, but the result is still too close to call, with Asfura and sports journalist Salvador Nasralla only having a few hundred votes each.
Trump is already doubting the outcome of the Honduran election, despite continuing to fabricate the fact that his loss to former US President Joe Biden in the 2020 election was the result of widespread fraud.
Just days prior to his arrest in September 2024, Sean Combs received a stern call from his legal team.
Sean Combs: Netflix teaser: The Reckoning date announcement
Following a number of lawsuits brought against him that contained allegations of sexual misconduct, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, 56, found himself the subject of intense media scrutiny.
The Bad Boy mogul traveled to New York City in September 2024 while the federal government was looking into him and Homeland Security raided two of his properties. He remained in a hotel room aware that the New York Southern District was in imminent danger of receiving a federal indictment.
He complained to his legal team about how poorly his case was handled during this time. “Yo, you’re not working together the right way. In a scene that was previously unreleased, he claimed, “We’re losing.”
The opening sequences of Netflix’s new docuseries, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, show Diddy pacing his hotel room whilst speaking on the phone to his solicitor, Marc Agnifilo. “It’s really going to be hard for me to take more hits than I’ve taken,” he admitted.
“God forbid, get in front of a jury and have a chance. So, I’m having this emergency call because something has to give,” reports the Mirror US.
Diddy criticized the approach taken to handling the allegations, particularly the handling of media relations during the call. You didn’t do anything wrong on any front, Marc told Diddy, and the plan was to keep it that way.
The attorney continued, stating that they intended to highlight Diddy’s decision to “face things head on” in New York as part of the federal investigation.
Further clarification, the 60-year-old added that they desired Diddy’s story to show him making the allegations. Diddy, however, showed skepticism and said he thought the strategy wasn’t working.
He labelled himself as a “superb client” before criticising his team for not having a dedicated spokesperson. At the time, the Mirror US reports, Diddy did have a contact for the press, which was often his legal team directly.
According to Diddy, “you must have some sort of comms to always be pushing that, Marc.” He argued that public relations communications should be conducted across a range of channels, including social networks and mainstream media.
Before entering the courtroom, Diddy’s main concern was potential jurors being influenced by media reports.
“We need to find someone who will work for us, whether or not they are from this or another nation.” It might be someone who has worked in the media’s and propaganda’s most dirty business, Diddy suggested to Marc.
On September 16, 2024, Diddy was detained on suspicion of sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution-related transportation.
The jury found Diddy guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy after a two-month trial that ended in July 2025.
Sean Combs: The Reckoning premiered on Netflix on 2 December. Executive producer Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson said ahead of its release: “I’ve been committed to real storytelling for years through G-Unit Film and Television.”
Jackson continued, “I’m proud to have Alexandria Stapleton as the director on the project to bring this significant story to the screen, and I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories.”
A Diddy representative told Mirror US before its release that “Netflix’s alleged “documentary” is a repulsive hit piece. He continued, claiming that Netflix’s “stolen footage” was “fundamentally unfair, and illegal, to misappropriate that work.”
He added that Netflix is “absolutely desperate to sensationalise every minute of Mr. Combs’ life, without regard for the truth,” to capitalize on a never-ending media frenzy.
If Netflix were concerned about Mr. Combs’ legal rights or the truth, it wouldn’t be removing private footage from context, including conversations with his attorneys, which were never meant for public viewing. No rights to that content were ever transferred to Netflix or a third party.
However, Alexandria Stapleton, the series’ director, previously explained the content’s origins, saying: “We obtained the footage legally and have the necessary rights. To protect the filmmaker’s identity, we moved heaven and earth.

“Sean Combs has always been filming himself, and it’s been a passion for this for a long time. We repeatedly contacted Sean Combs’ legal team for an interview and comment, but we never heard back.
Diddy continues to deny any and all accusations made against him.
