Barred Bosnian Serb leader Dodik’s party wins presidential election

The territory’s snap presidential election was won by close ally of Milorad Dodik, the former leader of the Serb-run region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was barred from office for promoting separatist policies that were stoking ethnic tensions.

The election commission announced on Sunday that Sinisa Karan, who represents the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), had won the majority of the vote in the election, which was called for Dodik’s replacement as president after he was removed from office and permanently barred from politics for six years.

Karan’s victory was described as “unquestionable,” according to Dodik, who spoke at the SNSD headquarters in Banja Luka, the head of the Bosnian Serb statelet Republika Srpska.

The international High Representative for Bosnia, who oversees the implementation of the 1995 Dayton Accords, which put an end to the bloody three-and-a-half-year Bosnian war, was found guilty of disobeying the orders of the dismissed leader in August.

In Republika Srpska, which is under the control of Bosnian Serbs, he had repeatedly clashed with High Representative Christian Schmidt, who ruled his actions unlawful.

Bosniaks, who are primarily Muslims, and Croats govern the other half of the nation. A central administration ties the two organizations together.

Dodik, who still supports the eventual separation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was fined and resigned as president while still leading his party’s ruling SNSD.

Following his ouster, Karan and Branko Blanusa, a university professor, squared off in the Serb Democratic Party’s snap election on Sunday.

Prior to the vote, Karan claimed that democratic elections “were a means of strengthening our Republic of Srpska and our entire republic” and that they were also “a means of strengthening our peace and stability.”

However, Karan’s victory was reportedly his victory, with Dodik indicating that he would continue to lead the charge and that “I will remain with you to fight for our political goals.”

The complex political structure of Bosnia was established 30 years ago by the US-brokered Dayton peace agreement, which put an end to the ethnic conflict that claimed more than 100 000 lives and left millions of people homeless.

In Al-Nassr’s 4-1 victory over Al-Khaleej in the Saudi Pro League, Cristiano Ronaldo resurrects the year with a stunning overhead kick.

In the sixth minute of stoppage time at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, the 40-year-old rose in the middle of the penalty area to cross Nawaf Boushal’s right-wing cross.

In November 2024, the Portugal captain also scored an overhead kick in the Nations League against Poland.

Al-Nassr was four points clear at the top of the table as a result of Victory.

Littler ‘ticks off’ first Players Championship win

Luke Littler, the reigning world number one, defeated fellow Englishman Nathan Aspinall 11-8 to win his first Players Championship Finals title in Minehead.

Just one week after winning the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton and topping the world rankings for the first time, the 18-year-old added a new trophy to his collection after being defeated by Luke Humphries in last year’s final.

Littler held on in the decider and scored 88 on the final run to claim his sixth televised title, reducing the deficit to 9-8 at one point by winning four of the five legs.

After the win, Littler told ITV, “I’m very proud to have this one crossed off the list; there are only two more left.”

The European Championship and the World Masters are the only major awards Littler has currently lost.

Even though Littler’s opponent threw seven maximum 180s, one more than “The Nuke,” Littler averaged 103.33 to Aspinall’s 93.64 in Sunday’s final.

Littler claimed that it was difficult to make it to the final.

Aspinall has been playing really well for a while, so I had to dig in at the end. I’m glad I succeeded in my goal.

I used to be myself, but now I’m starting to lose some of my emotion. Next month, I’m anticipating the big one.

Before falling to top seed and former world champion Gerwyn Price of Wales 11-8, Littler defeated Chris Dobey 10-5 in the final earlier in the day to claim his place in the final.

By prevailing 11-2 against Jermaine Wattimena of the Netherlands, Aspinall had already advanced to his seventh major final.

In the same matchup, Gian van Veen defeated England’s Beau Greaves 6-3 in the final of the Minehead World Youth Championship.

Greaves became the first woman to reach the World Youth final after posting a heart-felt 6-5 victory over reigning champion Luke Littler last month.

However, Van Veen, the defending champion, held off the 21-year-old Doncaster, who came back to almost level the tie at 4-3.

Van Veen, who lost to Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski in the second round of the Players Championship, held his resolve to win the youth title after Dimitri van den Bergh won it for the first time in 2018.

Strictly’s Shirley Ballas ‘couldn’t breathe’ minutes before live show after choking

After choking a few minutes before the live Blackpool show, Shirley Ballas of Strictly Come Dancing said she “almost didn’t make it.”

Before the show’s host, the famed Blackpool Tower, began, Shirley, 65, was struggling to breathe as she recalled the “terrifying” moment to fans. Without Jane, the hairstylist, who had to perform the Heimlich maneuver, the panel would have been a “judge down,” the head judge claimed.

She said, “I choked on a fishbone,” in a video to her followers. My wonderful Jane, who has been with me for nine years, performed the Heimlich maneuver and we extracted the bone. It became lodged in my throat. But it was terrifying there for 20 minutes because it was lodged and I couldn’t breathe.

If it weren’t for her, Shirley, who is from Wirral, added in a video to her Instagram account, “We’d have been a judge down tonight.” She repeatedly told her fans about how she was, saying, “I’m a little hoarse, but everything is good.”

In case she needs to use the Heimlich maneuver in the future, the judge has now pledged to learn it.

An object that might be lodged in a person’s airways is dislodged using abdominal thrusts. In case I ever come across anyone who needs my assistance, Shirley continued, “I’m going to study now.”

It comes after Shirley discovered lumpy tissue in her left breast, which she had previously battled for several health issues. After three biopsies and a mammogram, she was given the final approval, but Shirley claimed she was concerned that she had “worked myself to death.”

Before the biopsy, she told The Sun, “It’s been terrifying to have the needle go in your body. I’m very emotional. I’m teaching because I’m not the same at work right now, but it’s always on my mind.

The Strictly actress revealed her diagnosis of degenerative spine disease and what treatment options she has for her.

It involves three different types of operations, she told The Sun. And since I’m doing anti-inflammatory, I don’t want to have the operations. I’m attempting to practice ice bathing and juicing. Yes, I do have an ice bath made of brass. I’ve already climbed to about four minutes because it’s freezing cold at five in the morning.

I would say that it really motivates me to get my day started, and that I have also reduced my work hours because I don’t want any operations as long as I don’t feel any.

Man Utd come first, Amorim tells Mainoo & Zirkzee

Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee leaving in January to further their World Cup ambitions is not ruled out, according to Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim, who insists that the club’s goals will come first.

This season, neither player has started a Premier League game. Since starting against Burnley at half-time on August 30th, Mainoo has played for 93 minutes while Zirkzee has only played 82 of those minutes.

Both players are known to dislike the situation and are eager to re-establish their positions as international partners with England and the Netherlands, respectively, before the US, Canada, and Mexico’s summer tournaments in the future.

Amorim claims he will only approve moves if they are appropriate for United, but he shares their sympathies.

He claimed that he played football. In every circumstance, I want to assist my players, and I understand everything.

Given that the World Cup is taking place, I understand the frustration of some players. I am aware of its significance.

“The club comes first, though,” he said. I’ll be happy if I can support the club and the players. If not, I must consider the team.

The departures of Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo from the Africa Cup of Nations next month could have a positive impact on Mainoo and Zirkzee, respectively.

That is unrelated to Matheus Cunha’s odd case, who had a “minor” injury that club source described as “minor” and made a planned Saturday appearance to turn on the Altrincham Christmas lights.

Prior to Monday’s game against Everton at Old Trafford, United are five games without an unbeaten run.

However, United’s most recent draws at Nottingham Forest and Tottenham, where Amorim’s side wasted first-half lead, necessitated late equalisers, were drawless.

The former Sporting manager is reluctant to declare the “storm” he predicted when he first arrived at the club has passed.

He said, “I don’t like to say the storm is over.” “It’s my job, especially in our club, to always feel like a storm is coming.”
