Man United Forward Sesko Out ‘For A Few Weeks’

Manager Ruben Amorim announced on Friday that Benjamin Sesko will be out of action “for a few weeks” because he injured his knee before the international break.

The Slovenian international, who moved to United from RB Leipzig for £74 million ($97 million) in August, was injured in the team’s 2-2 draw at Tottenham on November 8 and did not make the World Cup qualifying squad.

Amorim initially said the knee-related issue was “more concerning,” but the United boss is confident that the 22-year-old has avoided a protracted layoff.

At his pre-game press conference on Monday, Amorim stated, “He is going to stay out for a few weeks, I don’t know how long, but it is not that serious.”

He will recover, he is making a recovery, and he is feeling better, according to the statement, “We have to be careful with him.” So I’m hoping to have Ben (Sesko) in a few weeks.

Sesko will start playing for Morocco’s Lessair Mazraoui, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, and Amad Diallo, who will travel to the Africa Cup of Nations, which will start in Morocco on December 21. Amorim predicted Sesko would arrive around the same time.

When their release date will be discussed.

“We are doing our job, but it’s not just in our hands,” Amorim said.

“We must respect that, but we will make every effort to defend the club, the player, and the national team.”

As he approached the anniversary of his first game as United manager, which was against Ipswich on November 24, last year, the Portuguese was asked how he felt.

He said, “I already knew that we will struggle with some things.” However, it was the impression that “it’s the best league in the world.”

It’s “perhaps the world’s best club.” But it’s also a big job that will demand a lot of effort.

After a difficult 2024/25 season, when United finished 15th in the Premier League, Amorim claimed United were making progress.

We had a lot of pain last year, so we must take that into account and play every game like the last or the first one, he said.

“But of course, if you ask me, I want a team that has more control, more dominance, better football, and, most importantly, more competitive in every way,” I say.

After the Spurs drew with Harry Maguire, United will also be without the defender.

Kobbie Mainoo could start for David Moyes’ side, and Lisandro Martinez is preparing to make another comeback after spending time with the Argentina camp.

Despite drawing their previous two games against Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, United are seventh in the Premier League and have won five of their last five games.

In the candid post, he said: “I’ve been quiet for a long time — maybe too long. Truth is, I haven’t known what to say. I lost over £1 million chasing the wrong things — and in the process, I lost over a million followers too. That hurt. But I get it.

“I wasn’t myself. I was lost, struggling, and making the kind of mistakes that feel impossible to come back from. But I’ve learned this — you don’t need millions of followers to find your voice again. You just need to tell the truth.”

Jack also shared a video where he spoke about the situation in more depth. Speaking to the camera, he said: “I took a lot of bad advice over the years and had a lot of the wrong people around me.

“I’ve made some massive mistakes. I’ve learnt some really, really proper painful, really painful lessons over the years. Every mistake that I’ve made, I own them all.

“I own every single mistake that I’ve made. They’re all my fault. I ain’t a victim. Now, what this new chapter is about, it’s about showing you what it’s like to start from absolutely rock bottom.

“Which is where I’m at now. You know, it pains me to say it, but that’s where I’m at now. I’m at rock bottom. And I want to show you what it’s like, that with the right mindset, the right people around you, absolutely anything is possible.

“I know where I want to be. I know who I want to be. I mean, I’m not sitting here saying that I’ve got it all figured out and I know what I’m doing, because I don’t.”

Jack went on to say that he has started a YouTube channel where he is going to document getting his life back on track. Jack has faced ups and downs since being on Love Island which has seen him face prison and go to rehab.

He has also been honest about his stint in rehab after he went through a drug relapse. Jack said he found it difficult to cope with the amount of money he had so spent it on drink and class A drugs and taking at least 30 diazepam pills a day to cope with his anxiety.

He stated in the open post, “I’ve been quiet for a long time, maybe too long. I have no idea what to say, but the truth is. I spent more than £1 million pursuing the wrong things, and I also lost over a million followers. That made me hurt. But I understand.

I wasn’t who I am. I struggled, felt lost, and made mistakes that were beyond my control. However, I’ve discovered that having millions of followers is not enough to reclaim your voice. Simply put, you must be telling the truth.

Additionally, Jack went into more detail about the situation in a video. He told the audience, “I have had a lot of the wrong people around me over the years, and I have taken a lot of bad advice.”

“I’ve committed some serious errors. Over the years, I’ve learned some deeply painful, deeply painful lessons. I own every mistake I’ve made, including myself.

I make every error I can think of. I’m entirely at fault for them. I’m not a victim, either. This new chapter is intended to show you what it’s like to start from scratch.

Which is the current state of my situation. I know, I feel bad about saying it, but that’s where I’m right now. I’m at the bottom. And I want to demonstrate to you what it’s like to have the right mindset and the right people around you.

I am aware of my desired destination. I am aware of my goals. I mean, I don’t sit here and claim to know what I’m doing because I don’t. I’m just saying I have it all figured out.

England vs. Argentina: Quilter Nations Series

Twickenham Allianz Stadium Date: Sunday, November Kick-off 16:10 GMT

After England lost Fraser Dingwall to a side strain for Sunday’s game against Argentina, Bath center Max Ojomoh has now had his biggest Test chance to date.

When England announced their team on Wednesday, Ojomoh will form an all-new center partnership with Henry Slade, who replaced Ollie Lawrence in the starting lineup.

Dingwall struggled to recover from his injury during training this week after picking up it in New Zealand last weekend.

England defense coach Richard Wigglesworth told BBC 5 Live, “We told Max this morning.

We are excited to see him wearing an England shirt because the boys have been very excited about him because he has been playing for Bath for a while.

In terms of his distribution and vision, he is a formidable attacker. He establishes a defensive line and launches an attack. He has made significant strides on the defensive end of the ball; he double defends and wants to have an impact.

“We are confident that he will enjoy his first start at Twickenham and do so with a smile on his face,” he said.

In the 40-5 victory over the United States in Washington in July, Ojomoh won his only previous Test cap.

His involvement in the senior team’s training and a debut against England A in an All Blacks XV two weeks prior appeared to be his only involvement in the autumn campaign.

Instead of moving Elliot Daly in from the wing and rejigging his back three, head coach Steve Borthwick chose to use his strong running and soft hands instead.

After making his England debut in the summer, he was faced with the challenge of improving his fitness and putting forth more consistent game time in the middle of the opposition.

He played a key role in the Bath team’s triumphant English title last year under the direction of attack coach Lee Blackett, who has since since assumed the same role with England.

Steve Ojomoh’s father, Steve, won 12 loose forward caps for England in 1998, with his final appearance coming in a 64-29 defeat to New Zealand. Along with Bath, he also won five league titles.

Ojomoh’s Bath team-mate Santiago Carreras has been named in the replacements by Argentina, who made an impressive use of the playmaker in last weekend’s win over Scotland.

After Carreras replaced starting fly-half Geronimo Prisciantelli shortly after half-time at Murrayfield, Argentina came back from 21 points down to win 33-24.

Marcos Kremer and Joaquin Oviedo, both starting for the Saracens, are formidable back-row reinforcements. Santiago Grondona and Juan Martin Gonzalez from Bristol are both starting for the Saracens.

With Rodrigo Isgro, Pedro Delgado, and Guido Petti also starting in the starting lineup, Newcastle scrum-half Simon Benitez Cruz and Tomas Albornoz form a half-back partnership.

The Pumas are led by former Leicester hooker Julian Montoya, who is currently playing for French side Pau.

Steward, Feyi-Waboso, Slade, Ojomoh, Daly, Ford, Spencer, Genge, Cowan-Dickie, Opoku-Fordjour, Itoje, Coles, Pepper, Underhill, Earl, and Steward.

Dan, Baxter, Stuart, Ewels, T Curry, Pollock, Mitchell, and M Smith are the replacements.
