Rob Reiner and his wife Michele are reported to have been “in bed” when they died. The bodies of filmmaking legend Rob and his photographer wife Michele, who was 68, were found at their Brentwood mansion on Sunday with their daughter, Romy, making the harrowing discovery.

The couple had suffered multiple knife wounds and the following day it was announced that the Reiners’ middle son Nick had been arrested on suspicion of the double murder of his famous parents.

Now, an insider has claimed that their killings took place in the middle of the night. A source told the Daily Mail whoever killed them went there “in the middle of the night” and slit their throats. They added: “They were in bed when that happened.”

One report by Showbiz 411 claimed that Michele was still alive when her daughter found them and died on the way to hospital, but Los Angeles Police Department insiders have insisted that this was not the case.

LAPD sources told TMZ that “rigor mortis appeared to have set in Rob and Michele’s bodies,” and this would mean that the pair had been dead for hours by the time they were discovered.

Nick Reiner’s defence attorney Alan Jackson has confirmed to reporters on Tuesday morning that he will be representing Reiner. He went on to tell the media outside Los Angeles Superior Court that his client would not be making his first court appearance on Tuesday because he hadn’t been medically cleared.

In a video published on TMZ, Jackson said: “Every inmate has to be medically cleared before they can be transported to court. He has not been medically cleared, it is just a procedural issue.”

Asked if the case had been “filed” he replied: “I have not received any file and I do not believe the court has received any file at this point. I am not commenting any further other than procedure of the court today We will be back day to day…hopefully he will be cleared tomorrow and we can get in there.”

As Hollywood tries to make sense of the shocking double-murder, it has emerged that the director and his son, several sources have claimed to PEOPLE, got into a fiery dispute at a Christmas party the night before, hosted by Conan O’Brian. It followed a report by TMZ on Monday which claimed that the moviemaker, who was 78, and his son were embroiled in a “very loud argument”.

One of the sources claimed to PEOPLE: “Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous.” It has now been revealed that Nick became ‘disruptive and upset’ when his parents expressed their worries about his health at Conan’s party, reports NBC. It’s reported that Rob and Michele then left the party following the set-to, according to TMZ.

Nick had accompanied his parents to the event, and sources later claimed to NBC that the couple were both upset and embarrassed by his behaviour.

They claimed that the screenwriter had interrupted a conversation between filmmaker Bill Hader and two other guests and when told it was a private conversation – stood still and stared at the group, before storming off in a rage. Just hours later, Rob and Michelle Reiner were found dead in their Los Angeles home. The LA Fire Department called to the gruesome scene at around 3.30pm local time, to provide medical aid.

First responders discovered Rob and Michele’s bodies. Although officials did not release any further details, a police source who spoke to the Associated Press believe the couple suffered brutal stab wounds and were found with their throats slit. Their son Nick, 32, was later arrested on suspicion of murder and is now being held without bail.

Rob met his wife while directing classic romcom When Harry Met Sally… and the pair went on to marry in 1989, and have three children together – actors Jake and Romy, and screenwriter Nick.

Of all their children, Nick is the one who has been most vocal over the years – and had previously been outspoken about his battles with drug addiction, as well as homelessness – revealing that his troubles began when he was just a teen.

Viewers don’t have much longer to wait as the fifth instalment of the fashionable drama will be released on Thursday, December 18th. This time around, the series has been given a dramatic makeover as Emily Cooper (played by Lily Collins) settles into her role as the head of Agence Grateau in Rome.

However, as her career reaches new heights, her personal life becomes increasingly more complicated. The new trailer promises more style, romance, workplace drama and perhaps a jaw-dropping twist or two are coming fans’ way in just a couple of days time.

A synopsis for season five reads: “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks.”

“Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”

While much of the series is now set in Rome, with scenes also filmed in Venice, it’s still clinging on to its Parisian roots. The new trailer caps off with a hilarious moment in which Emily is almost hit by a cyclist and she angrily retorts in perfect French.

When the cyclist shouts back, “the French are so rude!”, Emily lets the insult fly over her as she’s delighted to be mistaken for an actual French woman.

The trailer also teases a return to Paris as both her social life and work commitments seem to be pulling her back to the City of Love, where the lives of her best friend Mindy Chen (Ashley Park) and former flame Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) are going on without her.

Irish singer Ronan Keating will reunite with former Boyzone bandmembers earlier than expected – for a 90s-fuelled New Year’s Eve BBC special.

The presenter, 48, best known for being part of pop group behind the hit songs Love Me For A Reason, Words and No Matter What, will also be joined by a star-studded line-up of guests for an evening of music. The BBC One special, Ronan & Friends: A New Year’s Eve Party, will see Keating joined on stage by two former Boyzone bandmates, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch, for a special performance.

It comes ahead of the full band reuniting for a one-off stadium show next year – the first time since their five-night run at the London Palladium in 2019.

Formed in 1993, the group is made up of Keating, Duffy, Lynch, Mikey Graham and the late Stephen Gately and went on to secure six UK number one singles and five UK number one albums. The group first broke up in 2000, as their members went on to pursue solo careers, before reuniting in 2007.

Keating’s solo career also topped the charts with singles including When You Say Nothing At All, from the hit film Notting Hill, and Life Is A Rollercoaster.

The Irish star will also be joined by former Eternal singer, Louise, also known as Louise Redknapp, who is behind the hit songs Naked, Arms Around the World and 2 Faced, before welcoming singer-songwriter Calum Scott, known for You Are The Reason, to the stage.

The line-up is completed by former EastEnders star Shona McGarty, who is fresh out of the Australian jungle after finishing third place on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, and will bring in a “theatrical flair” to the evening.

As the clocks countdown to midnight, Ronan and his guests will sing the night away before the programme cuts to London’s world-famous fireworks display.

After midnight, the party continues on BBC One as Ronan returns to keep the celebrations going into 2026.

Coping with a benign brain tumour and breast cancer within the same 12 month period, instead of cracking under the strain, Davina McCall secretly tied-the-knot. Now happily married to celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas, she will soon be back on our screens judging The Masked Singer’s Christmas special on ITV on Boxing Day.

Davina, 58, whose health problems followed a very rough ride through the menopause, which she says left her “knocked for six,” has solid advice for middle aged women, who have lost their sparkle. She says: “I always say go out and buy yourself some new underwear. You can tell what mood I am in by the underwear I am wearing. If I don’t like myself it is off-white, seamless comfortable underwear.

“Michael tells me to wear pink boots. If you wear your normal everyday outfit then buy shoes, one small thing, or mad earrings. It might be so far out of your comfort zone, but someone will go ‘wow’. Don’t be embarrassed to be seen. We are all guilty of wanting to shy away, but don’t give into it. Be seen and don’t give into it.” She says this positive outlook helped her to land her Masked Singer role, which she describes as a “second spring.” And she admits that her ongoing success has surprised her, as she feared her TV career was over when she quit hosting Channel 4’s Big Brother in 2010 – although she was delighted when she became the host of Long Lost Family, saying: “I love that show.”.

Davina continues: “Big Brother is the one show I will be remembered for, for the rest of my life. After Big Brother I thought ‘am I ever going to work again as I am known for that so much?’ Every other show I tried to do alongside Big Brother has been a bit of a turkey. I was like ‘oh my God, without Big Brother who am I?’”

That changed over lunch six years ago, when she met up with ITV’s entertainment boss Kevin Lygo. She says: “I remember I had lunch with Kevin when I was about 52 or 53. I had known him forever, as he made Big Brother. We are good friends and every year we have a lunch. When we met he said ‘can you sing Davina?’ I was like ‘sort of…in the shower’.”

They then chatted about The Masked Singer, but she said she wanted to present, not sing so, with Joel Dommett already doing a fantastic job as presenter, she suggested she should join the panel. “He went ‘OK. I will think about that.’ A week later I got the call.”

Davina, who judges alongside Jonathan Ross and comic Mo Gilligan, adds: “If I had not said I wanted to be on the panel I don’t think I would have been there.” Now she wants other people to follow her lead, adding: “Be ballsy. Remember your worth. For me, getting the job was like a second spring. I never thought I would work in entertainment again and have outrageous shoes on TV again. So remember, if you don’t try…you don’t get.”

Brimming with confidence, despite her recent health battles, she thanks her husband, Michael, 52, and her stepmother Gaby for supporting her. She says: “Before my operation [brain surgery in November 2024] my mum [Gaby] laughed at me, because I love wearing sexy clothes or sexy dressing gowns. She asked what nighties I had for hospital. I put one on and went with White Company pyjamas, but they were shorties. She was like ‘don’t be flashing your brain surgeon’.”

Davina moved in with Gaby when she was 13, after her relationship with her biological mother Florence Kock, who battled alcoholism and had leukaemia when she died of a lung infection in 2008, became strained. Davina, mum to daughters Holly, 23, and Tilly, 21, and 18-year-old son Chester, has now forgiven her mum for her tricky childhood.

She says: “My birth mother was a gorgeous, French, exotic, mad, risk taker – exciting to be around, chaotic, but I just wanted Angela Lansbury. I wanted somebody with sensible shoes. She used to wear coats and flash people in the street. She used to do citizens’ arrests. It was madness. I was in the back of a car once while she drove it across a cricket pitch while the match was on.

“I spent my entire life trying to get her to mother me, but my stepmum was just there all the time. She was solid, dependable, loving, non judgemental. She is a very different person. She loved my dad [Andrew}. He was quite a difficult person.”

Davina has spoken openly about her own difficulties with drink and drugs and how she became clean and sober, aged 25, with the help of a friend of rockstar Eric Clapton. She started smoking cannabis with her mother when she was just 12, before moving on to alcohol and eventually heroin use in her early twenties.

After a spell in rehab, she turned her life around, but admits: “I hated myself when I got clean. I really hated myself. I had let myself down. I had let myself and other people down. I had been infected with this dark shadow.” But, with the help of Narcotics Anonymous, she learned to love herself.

She says: “It took me six months, but I realised you can love yourself warts and all. “I did not have to be perfect. I was allowed to not be perfect and still like myself. I have lots of defects of character that I am aware of and I try to be better. But when you love yourself warts and all that is a lovely place to get to.”

Now sober for almost 35 years, Davina had overcome her demons before finding TV fame. She admits: “I harassed people at MTV for three years and I did not get a job until I was 25 – thank God, as I got clean at 24. If I had got an audition before then I would have messed it up. I could start MTV clean, like being reborn. I was lucky.”

Now, having won another major life battle – this time with her physical, rather than her mental health, she is looking forward to a new year filled with promise. She says: “My happy place is now with people I love, with Michael, our kids, our families. Probably in a karaoke bar or Ibiza or with people I love with music and dancing. I feel free. We were listening to Florence and the Machine the other day and their song Free came on and everybody was dancing. That for me, with people you love, that is my drug of choice.”

But Davina has no intention of leaving our TV screens any time soon. She laughs: “People used to level at me that I was annoyingly enthusiastic on TV. It is like Marmite, some love it and some hate ir, but that is OK. People can turn me off. I don’t mind.”

A 31-year-old TikTok star with more than 2.5million followers has been found dead in his home. Star Tucker Genal was discovered just days after his final post and tributes have begun to pour in.

Tucker was found dead inside his home in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday last week and his death has been ruled as a suicide, according to medical examiners in the city. Days before his death Tucker shared a post which included throwback images from every month in the past year, along with the caption: “Wish I could relive some of these moments twice.”

His followers were left heartbroken and tributes flooded in, including from his brother Carson who wrote: “I don’t even know where to begin, you were my best friend and an even better big brother, my entire life I’ve spent looking up to you and trying to follow in your footsteps because you were always my hero.”

He added: “I know one thing is for certain and that is that I will continue to spend the rest of my life looking up to you until we meet again. You were the kindest person I’ve ever met and the greatest brother that anyone could have ever asked for.”

Before Tucker’s death, he shared a post on Instagram with his friend Sean Schutt. The pair were snapped sitting on Santa’s lap along with the caption: “I can feel the Christmas spirit from my head to my mistletoes.”

Sean shared a tribute to his friend which read: “I don’t know where I would have been without you man. You gave me life. You showed me how beautiful life can be. I’m so blessed to have had you in my life. I will cherish ever moment and memory we shared together. Thank you for always being there for me when I didn’t know where to go.”

He continued: “5 years ago I was in the deepest darkest place in my life and didn’t think there was a way out… I saw these guys Tucker and Carson Genal making a content house in Los Angeles. They invited me to be apart and the rest is history.

“As soon as I moved to LA and lived with them they gave me a whole new perspective on life. Tucker You gave me my motivation you brought a light in me that I never even knew I had.

“You are the kindest most selfless person I knew. You always put others before yourself and you always knew how to care when no one else did. I don’t know where I would have been without you man. YOU gave me Life.”

Zach Justice, a fellow social media star, wrote: “I can’t believe this. Please check on your friends. All my love to him, his family, and all the people who loved him.”
