Former TOWIE star James Argent has been pictured performing back on stage days after it was revealed he was arrested in Spain over an alleged assault on his girlfriend.
He made a return to the spotlight on Friday night at a charity bash. He was handed a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after admitting to pushing Nicoline during an argument during their trip to La Cala de Mijas.
Dressed in a dinner suit with bow tie, he performed with The Arg Band at a glitzy charity boxing gala. The ex-TOWIE favourite, 36, was all smiles as he took to the stage at the Wickers Charity Ball in London, crooning for a packed crowd raising funds to tackle knife crime.

Putting the recent drama on the Costa Del Sol behind him, he put on a high-energy show to a packed crowd.
A source said: “Arg didn’t address his recent troubles. He just did the gig like he normally would.”
Fans danced along to his set and queued up for selfies with the reality star-turned-wedding singer, who was pictured posing with a few of them.

Argent returned to work for the first time since news of the assault came to light.
Following the news, he broke his silence earlier this week. He said: “I haven’t relapsed. I am still three years and four months clean and sober. I am devastated by what’s happened.”
Spanish police this week confirmed the reality star was arrested for “an alleged crime of domestic violence” against Nicoline.

He appeared before the Court of Violence against Women, in Fuengirola, and was handed a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, for a gender violence offence.
Former Miss Sweden Nicoline, 32, was on a getaway with him in Mijas, near Malaga, Spain, on May 5 when a diner at a nearby restaurant witnessed a commotion from across the road.

Sobbing in the street after the altercation with the Towie star, she told a passerby: “I can’t believe what’s happened… we planned to have a family.”
The witness said they saw Arg throwing clothes off the balcony and heard him screaming in the house before he ran out with a bag.

James, 37 – also known as Arg – has kept a low profile since news of the incident broke.
Towie suspended Argent from filming in October 2014 when he failed a drug test. He later attended rehab before returning to the series.
But he has regularly been an inpatient at centres due to his issues with drug addiction and in an interview in November he said he’d been clean and sober for three years.
He’d been dating Nicoline, 32, since last summer after meeting in Marbella. Following police action, he has been banned from contacting the former Miss Sweden for two years.

Seven years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot, royal biographer Tom Bower reveals how he thinks the ‘turmoil’ surrounding them has put pressure on the Sussexes’ marriage

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the front pages all around the world with their kiss on the steps of St George’s Chapel after being pronounced husband and wife. The romantic, picture-perfect moment was seen as the start of another joyous royal union – attracting the same levels of public adoration as Prince William and Kate Middleton before them.
But, seven years on, royal biographer Tom Bower says the reality is proving to be very different. The ex-BBC journalist, who is midway through his second book on the couple, sums up the time since May 19, 2018 as an “unpredictable, tumultuous rollercoaster”. Tom says: “When the nation, and the world, saw them at St George’s Chapel, they thought, ‘This is bliss’. It was seen as a most wonderful image, something terrific for the royal family and terrific for Britain.”

He goes on: “Harry has always been besotted by Meghan, and of course they are now both devoted to their children.”
Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, had announced their engagement around six months earlier, after a romantic proposal with a custom three-stone ring – made using diamonds owned by the Prince’s late mother, Princess Diana.
The wedding came just a few weeks after another joyous royal occasion, the birth of William and Kate’s third child, Prince Louis. Even as the day approached, however, the couple found themselves embroiled in some rather unpleasant family dramas.
Article continues below
Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle Sr, admitted he had lied to his future son-in-law over claims he had staged paparazzi photos in exchange for payment a few weeks before the ceremony.
While there is no doubt the pair were, and still are, very much in love, ex- investigative journalist Tom believes the writing was already on the wall for the direction their marriage would take.
He claims: “The guest list showed where it was all going. It was full of Hollywood stars, and Meghan’s family weren’t there. Everything that was clear on that day has transpired – there has been a break-up of a family, and a move back to Hollywood.”

The couple welcomed their first son, Prince Archie, on May 6, 2019, while they were very much working royals and relations with William and Kate were seemingly good.
The couple congratulated Harry and Meghan on the birth with a funny message saying: “Welcome to the sleep deprivation club.”
Just a year later, it all changed. Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family to work to become independent, “while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen”.
It was explained that they would split their time between the UK and North America. Tom says: “In the beginning, Harry found it terrific and Meghan clearly loved it.
“It was a great adventure. He had amazing freedom in the sunshine, paddling in the Pacific, embracing fatherhood and everything. So I think that at this stage, it was going well. But then their reality changed. The issue of their ties with the UK and Harry’s family became apparent, and Harry found that very, very difficult.”
The family of four are now based full-time in California
The couple sat down with US presenter Oprah Winfrey to share their experiences in 2021. And Tom says the money they made from Harry’s explosive memoir, Spare, and their Spotify and Netflix deals, has no doubt given them huge financial security.
But it comes at a cost – the most significant being Harry’s relationship with his brother and father.
Add to that his recent High Court case over his security while in the UK, and his comments about the King no longer speaking to him, and they are essentially in a marriage surrounded by intense turmoil, Tom warns. He claims: “It’s been an unpredictable, tumultuous rollercoaster, which is not what they expected.
“Harry’s lost relationships with his family in England, and I think he is now a very lonely prince. But what is brilliant about them is they conceal the turmoil that they go through, such as with the court case on security in London. Harry is troubled, but Meghan can’t help with that in any way. She doesn’t want to be involved in Harry’s battle with his family.
“She’s focused on their life in California with the children and building her brand. Everything that’s happened since their wedding has put a huge strain on them – but Meghan’s a consummate performer and knows how to ignore criticism and present herself looking immaculate and smiling.”

Now that things are hopefully settling down they will, no doubt, be hoping for a smoother next seven years of marriage. Harry’s priority, reckons Tom, should be on enjoying his time with Meghan, six-year-old Archie and daughter Lilibet, three – and finding his purpose.
What that might be, he says, is impossible to predict – insisting: “I’ve never for a moment thought they would end their marriage.
“Instinctively, I think the marriage is sound because they have a lot in common and clearly have endless intensive conversations about their fate, which binds them.
“The marriage was ideal because he wanted to be saved, he needed help. Meghan is a sort of mother and lover, and that was what he needed. They both want to be loved, and they both love their children.
“They have a big enough house to have their own space from each other, and Harry will go off and do his things – for example attending an event in New York without her – and vice versa. They don’t feel that they have to be together all the time.”
The foursome are now very much divided, Tom says(Image: Getty Images)
They have weathered a great many storms together in their first seven years of marriage.
If history is to be an indicator of their future together, Harry and Meghan may face more bumps in the road – but they will do so united, for better or for worse.

Tom adds: “I’d be hugely surprised if she didn’t stay loyal to Harry – it would be completely contrary to everything we’ve seen of her. It’s impossible to predict exactly what the future holds. Other than Harry writing another book or Meghan writing about her experiences, they need to find their purpose.
“The real problem for them is what does Harry do? He’s 40, hasn’t an official role and he has lots of enemies. Not being close to his family leaves a hole – his focus must be on filling that in California, with Meghan.”
Danny Dyer has let rip on his true feelings about his stint on EastEnders, but the firm favourite of British screens has never been known for holding back – the Mirror takes a look at some of his most hot-headed outbursts
Danny Dyer has had his share of outbursts over the years(Image: PA)
One of the most familiar faces on our screens, Danny Dyer, 47, doesn’t hold his tongue. The straight-talking East Londoner has had more than a few fiery outbursts over the years, landing himself in hot water.
Most recently, the Rivals star let rip on his feelings about his nine-year stint on EastEnders, where he played fan favourite Mick Carter and was paid a whopping £250,000 a year.
Speaking at a Wimbledon Football Club charity evening, Dyer slammed some of the storylines he and his costars were given, calling the scripts “s**t”. Asked what he thought of the BBC show since he left, he said: “S*** now though, ain’t it,” he shrugged. “Serves them right.”
Danny also gave his two pence on one of his final storylines before quitting the hit soap opera in 2022, his character’s romance with Janine Butcher, something he called “mental”. “You’ve got to sell this s***, and a lot of it is s**t. You’re like, ‘What the f*** is this?’. Mick with Janine was mental,” he said.

The star also opened up about the emotional rollercoaster and how he struggled with the lack of downtime from draining scenes, saying there wasn’t enough “duty of care”.

“In a film you properly cry and go to a dark place,’ he said. “You have time to recover. But on soap, you ain’t. On a soap, it f**** a lot of people’s heads up. I tell you most people in soap are off their nut. You meet them on the street and they’re f***ing lunatics, I’m telling you. If someone dies in your family, they won’t even let you go to a f***ing funeral because it is such a machine there wasn’t much duty of care there.”
A spokesperson for the show rebuked the claim. In statement, they said: “We would never discuss an individual’s private matters however, we do not recognise these claims. EastEnders has extremely robust and well established procedures in place to safeguard the welfare of everyone who works on the show.”
This recent outburst about his former job is by no means the first time that Danny has got candid about his real feelings on the public stage, the Mirror looks back at some of his most hot-headed moments over the years, none of which have ever diminished his popularity for long.
Sweary joke
At this year’s Brit Awards, Danny had a couple of candid moments that ended up getting censored during the live broadcast. When he was onstage presenting the award for International Song of the Year ahead of introducing singer Chappell Roan’s prerecorded acceptance speech, he joked: “She couldn’t be f****d to be here,” which ended up getting bleeped out, per Wales Online.

During a conversation with host Jack Whitehall, the Football Factory star also launched into a tirade about Prime Minister Keir Starmer, after being asked who would win his “b*****d of the year award”, to which he answered, “So many. This is why the world is being run by cranks at the moment. Probably Sir Keir Starmer”.
David Cameron swipe
Taking aim at Keir Starmer isn’t the first time Danny went public with his feelings about politicians. Back in 2018, Danny appeared on Good Evening Britain, and he left viewers with no confusion about his opinions on former prime minister David Cameron, who he repeatedly dubbed a “t**t”.
The comments were made during a conversation about Brexit, which Dyer called a “mad riddle” as he ranted about how few people actually understood what was going on politically over the issue. “Who knows about Brexit? No one has a clue what Brexit is, yeah. You watch Question Time – it’s comedy.”

Dyer added, “I haven’t got a clue, no one knows what it is, it’s like this mad riddle that no one knows what it is, right? So what’s happened to that t**t David Cameron who called it on?”
The actor then doubled down on his criticisms of the former PM, “How comes he can scuttle off, he called all this on. Where is he? He’s in Europe, in Nice, with his trotters up, where is the geezer? I think he should be held to account for it. He should be held account for it….T**t”.
The following year when appearing at the BAFTA Awards, Danny opted to call Cameron a “t**t” for a second time. Last year, in 2024, Danny said on Late Night Lycett to host Joe Lycett that in fact he would change his assessment of David Cameron six years on – to something even more unflattering. “I think I’d like to retract that. I don’t want to call him a t**t, I’d like to call him a c**t,” the actor clarified, per the Huffington Post.
‘Serious error’
In 2010 the actor landed in some serious hot water when a “bad joke” he had made was printed by Zoo magazine, in which he had a weekly advice column. A reader had written in looking for some tips and tricks to stop missing their ex-girlfriend “I’d suggest going on the rampage with the boys, getting on the booze and smashing everything that moves,” the advice printed said. “Then, when some bird falls for you, you can turn the tables and break her heart. Of course, the other option is to cut your ex’s face and then no one will want her.”
The backlash was immediate and swift, and he parted ways with the lad’s magazine, and a year later he said to The Independent about the incident: “I think the mistake I made was getting involved with a magazine like Zoo in the first place. It was a column I didn’t write. It’s a publication that’s about being laddy to the extreme. That’s what they wanted from me. I’d get rung up by a journalist every week, we’d talk for a little while, they’d ask me about politics, and I’d say something stupid. And I just said a stupid thing. I said a really stupid thing. Which had no substance to it, I didn’t mean what I said, at all. And I trusted them that they wouldn’t print that.
“The idea of me advising anyone to cut the face of a girl is ridiculous. It makes me f******g disgusted. And with the backlash I got – it was a really dark time for me. People expected me to say something like that because of this persona that I had helped build, this sweary don’t-give-a-f***k lad. And they made a serious error to print it because it was like a joke, but a really bad joke that should never have been printed. I sold out.”
Awkward awards moment
At the British Soap Awards in 2018, Danny seemingly squared up to TV host Philip Schofield, after the presenter asked if Dany was all right. “Yeah you alright – what you want to make one with me?” Danny said in the moment that was broadcast on live TV.
Danny squared up to Phillip Schofield(Image: ITV)
Schofield then admitted the actor was “scaring the life” out of him, before Danny got up from his seat, to which the presenter said: “Leave it you back off. Sit down I’m in charge here mate.”
However, the two men were later seen laughing, so this moment could well have a been a skit planned to entertain viewers.
Isle of Man outrage
In 2005 Danny spent some time on the Isle of Man filming a project, and he was reported to have made some characteristically candid criticisms of the place, much to the chagrin of the locals. Danny is reported to have said the Isle of Man was “lots of horrible little towns where everyone looks like they’ve been doing their cousins for generations”.
However, he later seemed to be pretty apologetic for any offence he had caused, saying to the Metro, “I do tend to open my mouth a little bit. I didn’t mean it. They’re alright, the Isle of Man. You can drive from one end to the other in 40 minutes. It’s a crazy little place but they’re very proud of their rock. They make a lot of films there, they’re good to the film game. I was just a bit homesick”.
Footballer Kyle Walker bought a £2.5million seaside mansion for his mistress Lauryn Goodman, the mother of two of his children, despite reportedly fighting to save his marriage to Annie Kilner
Kyle bought Lauryn a house for her and their two children
England star Kyle Walker splashed out on a luxury mansion for his ex Lauryn Goodman, the mother of his two children, Kairo and Kinara.
The 34-year-old AC Milan right-back shares four sons – Roman, Riaan, Reign and Rezon – with wife Annie Kilner, but also has two children with influencer Lauryn, 33. Lauryn brought their eldest, Kairo, now four, to watch his dad play for England against Denmark at the Euros in June 2024 – a match also attended by Annie.
Last January, Annie announced she was taking time away from their marriage following the revelation of Kyle’s second child with Lauryn, a daughter born in August 2023, who was initially only referred to publicly by the initials ‘KW’.

Kyle bought his ex-mistress a £2.5million mansion
Walker previously gifted Annie a £250,000 engagement ring when they married in 2021 – a year after Kairo’s birth in April 2020. But he also gifted his mistress Lauryn a £2.5million seven-bed mansion in 2023 in an exclusive area of East Sussex for her to live with their two children.
The influencer was said to be “thrilled” with her new home and enjoyed renovating the property, splashing out £40,000 on bespoke curtains and blinds alone. Now, Kyle is thought to be back in Italy fighting to save his marriage to Annie.
Article continues below
However, it seems that the defender will be forced to return to England following the news AC Milan will not be extending his stay. Speaking on The Kyle Walker Podcast, he said: “After I said my goodbyes, Pep [Guardiola] got up and spoke and said a really nice message to me, just saying thank you for everything.
“But listen, it’s not over. I’m just on loan here [AC Milan]. I’ve got to take that into consideration that I can go back [to Manchester City]. Obviously, both parties need to come to an agreement come the end of the season.”
Lauryn did not publicly disclose her second child’s name, or the father’s identity, when her baby was born but it was soon revealed that Kyle was the father, with Lauryn recalling the exact moment she showed Annie a DNA test to prove it. “It had to be out in the open for all of our sakes,” Lauryn said.
Lauryn’s failed court battle with the 34-year-old sports star saw her ask for £33,000 for an AC unit, £31,200 astroturf for her children, £20,000 for a furnishing fund, £70,000 for a new Mercedes GLE every three years, £14,750 for both children, and more. The judge considered many of her demands unreasonable and said she treated him like an ‘open-ended chequebook’. She even wanted a car for her nanny – who doesn’t even drive.
Lauryn said she refuses to be defeated or silenced by Kyle and his wife Annie, and has now revealed her agony at their actions in a tell-all interview. “They’re about to ruin me forever. I have two children that I need to support,” she recently said.
It’s thought Annie Kilner and Kyle Walker are attempting to rekindle their marriage
A source exclusively told the Mirror regarding her feud with Kyle: “Lauryn is known for attempting to control a narrative that suits her story – she has consistently sought public attention with staged shoots, trips to the Euros and constant social media goading around her brief encounters with Kyle.
“Annie and Kyle are looking forward to a resolution of the whole situation and hope that this latest chapter brings them just that. All they want is to work on their relationship, in private, to see what the future holds for them and their young family but have been unable to with the glare of the media – often led by Lauryn.”
Kyle also has no relationship with the two children he shares with Lauryn due to her “behaviour.” Throughout the Euros tournament, Lauryn would take her Instagram off private and share pictures and videos of her two children, often wearing football kits with ‘Daddy’ written on the back of them. She also jetted out to watch Kyle play in a match with Kairo, despite Walker allegedly refused to arrange tickets.
A source telling the Mirror: “Lauryn and her children are welcome to enjoy the games and to go to watch the matches if they want to, but we would question why she wants to do it in such a public way. Contrary to previous reports, Kyle has not offered Lauryn any tickets, the people supporting him in the ground are his wife Annie and their children.”
In an interview, Kyle discussed the painful consequences of his actions. He told The Sun: “I do and I don’t regret it. I regret not telling [Annie] because she had a right to know and that’s the least I owe my best friend. I don’t regret it selfishly because I got to spend days with my children.”

Lauryn’s modern home, meanwhile, consists of wooden flooring, full-length windows and plain walls. She also has a huge reception room with a small sofa in the corner. The TV personality, whose Instagram account switches between being private and public, hasn’t disclosed any images of the exterior of the house publicly.
However, she often shares glimpses inside, which include a large cream sofa and a gigantic wall-mounted flat-screen television. A source told The Sun in September: “Kyle has spent so much on this house. It cost a fortune. Lauryn is obviously pleased Kyle has finally done the right thing. She wants the kids to feel happy and secure.” The source explained Lauryn had been living with her mum for a while, “with both kids cramped in one room” and it hadn’t “been easy”.

The source added: “It is an amazing house, she is thrilled. It’s like something out of Footballers’ Wives. It’s massive.” At the time, it was reported by the publication that Lauryn hadn’t yet moved in. It’s unknown if she has moved into the property since. The source claimed she had spent an “absolute fortune” making the place her own and worked with a “fancy interior designer”. The luxury five-bedroom house reportedly has a large garden and terrace.
Around the time of the purchase, Kyle reportedly moved out of his house with Annie and into a penthouse flat in Manchester city centre following a string of ‘blazing rows’. A source told MailOnline: “We don’t see much of Kyle since she threw him out at the end of August… She was really angry with him and called him all sorts of names.” In January, Kyle broke his silence regarding the split and said: “Annie is an amazing woman and I can only apologise for the upset I’ve caused her.”
A version of this story was first published in January 2024.

More than half a century on from ABBA’s Eurovision victory in Brighton with Waterloo, some music fans are only just realising who the Swedish superstars beat in the final
ABBA rose to superstardom after winning Eurovision in 1974 with ‘Waterloo’
The Eurovision final is almost upon us once more. Thursday (May 15) saw 16 nations compete in the second semi final including Finland (Erika Vikman), Denmark (Sissal) and Ireland (Emmy).
Ten acts went through to the grand final, which takes place in Basel, Switzerland on today. Tuesday’s first semi final, meanwhile, saw Sweden qualify and it’s their country’s illustrious history in the competition that has resulted in online intrigue in recent times.
Back in 1974, ABBA’s Eurovision victory with ‘Waterloo’ proved the catalyst for them to go onto become pop superstars. Indeed, Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anna-Frid would go on to release nine studio albums and have record sales in excess of 385 million.

Some music fans are only just realising, however, that on that night in Brighton in 1974, the group saw off competition from another huge name, who would go on to find fame most notably in a musical on the big screen.
That film was Grease, and the artist was Olivia Newton-John. ABBA won the night, with 24 points, whilst Italy were runners-up on 18. The Netherlands finished third, whilst Luxembourg, Monaco and the United Kingdom tied in fourth – with the latter represented by Olivia, who sang ‘Long Live Love’.

A number of videos of her performance have been shared to TikTok, three years on from the Cambridge-born star’s death aged 73. “It wouldn’t have mattered who represented the UK or what the song was, Waterloo was way ahead of the rest,” one person wrote.
A second person gushed: “She was an angel even here.” A third added: “Four years later she donned the spandex and immortalised herself as Sandy Olsen. Hard to think it’s the same person.”
A fourth TikTok user recalled: “After she lost Eurovision, Terry Wogan heard she’d moved to USA and said on radio, ‘I suppose that’s the last we’ll hear of her!’ How wrong was he?” Whilst a fifth admitted: “It’s so insane that two of my favourite artists performed at the same Eurovision.”

‘Long Live Love’ had previously been one of six songs introduced by Olivia on BBC One’s Clunk Click, hosted by the now infamous, Jimmy Savile.
The public were invited to cast votes on which track she should sing at the final, with ‘Long Live Love’ (27,387 votes) pipping Olivia’s favourite ‘Angel Eyes’ (18,018) to the post.
