Former co-stars Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are now in-laws. It’s been announced that the actors’ respective children Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence have quietly got married, six months on from their engagement last year.
Eddie, 64 – who starred alongside Martin, 60, in the films Boomerang (1992) and Life (1999) – shared the news this week. The actor announced that his son Eric, 35, and Jasmin, 29, “ran off and got married” earlier this month during an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show today.
Speaking to to host Jennifer Hudson, 43, whom he starred alongside in Dreamgirls (2006), Eddie said: “They got married like two weeks ago. They went off … everybody was making the big wedding plans and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them. And then they got married.”
Shrek voice actor Eddie – who shares Eric with his former partner Paulette McNeely – joked that Martin no longer has to pay for a lavish wedding for his daughter. He teased: “Yeah, we’re in-laws. And he doesn’t have to pay for the big wedding now.”

He added: “They went off and they got married at the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher. [They had a] quiet little thing. So I think we’ll have like a big party or something, [as] they ran off and got married.”
Bad Boys star Martin – who shares Jasmin with his ex-wife Patricia Southall – previously teased that he was expected to pay for Eric and Jasmin’s wedding. He said that Eddie, who has ten children, covered the costs of the “last six weddings”.
Appearing on iHeartRadio’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood in December, Martin said: “Eddie said I gotta pay for it. He said I gotta pay for it, cause he paid for his last daughter’s wedding … like the last six weddings so … but he said it’s my turn now.”
Eddie’s had a music career over the years, including releasing the song Party All the Time in 1985. However, the Beverly Hills Cop actor insisted he will not be singing if Eric and Jasmin – who began dating in 2021 – have a wedding party. But, he didn’t rule out on performing a “duet” with Martin.

After Jennifer teased the idea of Eddie picking up a microphone and performing, he said: “No.” He later teased: “Martin will sing at the wedding.” When the prospect of a collaboration came up, he replied: “Do a duet. Yeah, maybe.”
Martin spoke about his son-in-law Eric on the talk show himself this week. He said: “He’s a great young man.” Asked who is more protective, himself or Eddie, he said: “I think we probably both are protective. We want the best for our children, but we let them do their own thing and make their choices.”
Jasmin announced her engagement to Eric in November last year. She wrote on Instagram at the time: “We’re engaged! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter.”

Sabrina Carpenter has been cast in a script for Mamma Mia 3 and is widely anticipated to play the lead role, but some fans are unsatisfied with the casting despite being an ABBA mega fan.

Pop superstar and multiple chart-topper Sabrina Carpenter has been tipped for an acting comeback as she takes on the lead role of the long-awaited Mamma Mia 3. The former Disney Channel star could follow in the footsteps of Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried and Lily James at the heart of the beloved franchise.
Fans eager to end the seven-year drought since Mamma Mia 2’s release may not have much more to wait. Judy Cramer, the writer behind the critically acclaimed West End series and its two highly acclaimed film spin-offs, has revealed she has written a script and is working on an ABBA-themed musical once more.
Speaking to Deadline, the producer hinted at Carpenter’s remarkable resemblance to both Seyfried and Streep’s original character: “She’d be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep,” she said. “We know what we want to do with the movie, and it will happen.”

Many fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment at the potential casting and her acting lack, despite the film’s tightly-kept secret plot.
One on X complained, “This is another form of nepotism with the casting of Sabrina,” and another, “I hate Hollywood because what do you mean she’s playing her mother-they look like sisters”!
Although there is criticism, the casting makes sense in terms of music, and it’s obvious that Carpenter, who is the author of some of the biggest music videos in recent years, like Please, Please, Please, Please to Espresso, is also a notorious ABBA fan.
The 26-year-old, who has previously performed some of the group’s songs while on tour, already has a chance to practice singing some of their hits. The Swedish duo’s two cats are named after the band’s legendary Benny and Björn, earning them a spot as one of her most popular Spotify tracks.

Amanda Seyfried has already spoken on casting Sabrina Carpenter(Image: AFP/Getty Images)
She already seems to have the cast on her side. Amanda Seyfried who plays Sophie, one of the main characters in the first two films has previously spoken about casting Carpenter: “Old age make-up for me. If Sabrina Carpenter wants to play my daughter, I’ll make it happen. It’s fine. I’m a big fan,” she said.
Meghan Markle has faced criticism for her “outrageous” demands in the Vogue and a response from a commentator who urged the Duchess of Sussex to “give us the tea.”
Meghan’s name has hit headlines this week (Image: The Jamie Kern Lima Show)
For all the wrong reasons, Meghan Markle has been making headlines this week.
First, the Duchess of Sussex was rocked when an alleged list of outrageous demands – which lost her the chance to appear on the front cover of fashion bible Vogue – was leaked. According to claims, Meghan piled so much pressure on the then-editor of Vogue UK Edward Enninful ahead of a potential appearance in the UK Vogue September 2022 issue that the pair fell out.
Meghan, 43, had been working with Edward on a collaboration for the prestigious fashion issue that would include her keynote appearance at the One Young World Summit in Manchester, along with “involved extensive features across the magazine and its digital editions”.

Edward and Meghan’s friendship is reportedly over(Image: @edward_enninful/Instagram)
However, the duchess allegedly requested that the global cover of Vogue be present on both the US and UK versions at the same time and even allegedly appealed to Anna Wintour in a bid to persuade her. Her US staff nicknamed her “Duchess Difficult.”
A source tells Page Six that she then demanded a list of six demands from Enninful.
They stated that “Meghan requested control over [the] photographer, writer, final edit, photos, cover letters, and wanted a global issue.” Nobody understands that. Not even Beyonce.
However, Enninful already had supermodel Linda Evangelista booked for the cover of Ennisfall in September 2022, and he is said to have been unwavering about keeping her.
According to the outlet, his stance reportedly caused Meghan to pull the plug on their scheduled movie and caused their disagreement.
Then, according to her, she demanded a call from US Vogue editor Anna and attempted to persuade her to listen to her ideas during a scheduled Zoom call.
However, Anna had already agreed to work with Serena Williams, one of Meghan’s closest friends and close family, to be US Vogue’s cover for that issue, and reportedly politely declined Meghan’s offer.
The source continued, “Anna wasn’t interested.” Anna responded politely by asking for a Zoom with her to think about it.
Enninful was upset when Meghan resigned after learning she would no longer appear on British Vogue’s front page, according to the Daily Mail.
Enninful failed to live up to those expectations, according to an insider who stated that the duchess and her team had high hopes for her publication.
He already had the magazine cover that month in his bag. Both Edward and the Condé Nast power brokers were furious that they had lost the project.
Meghan should embrace being a “hot girl” one expert said(Image: Anadolu via Getty Images)
The process “came across very challenging,” the source continued. Although Edward could only have said “she wanted to get a big showy feature in the magazine and online,” she turned it down.
Elsewhere, journalist and commentator Esther Krakue hit out at the mum of two, harshly suggesting that Meghan should lean into her status as a “hot” woman who married a prince, rather than trying to frame herself as a thought leader with a “particularly niche view of the world.”
Meghan appeared on the Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast recently, where the Duchess of Sussex admitted she wasn’t sure what to put on a resume, and Krakue made a comment on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show.
Let’s be honest, Krakue bluntly stated, “She’s never had to write a resume.”
Krakue then criticized Meghan’s attempts to advance complex social issues. She said, “She views the world through a very peculiar lens.” She attempts to portray herself as a champion of women, but she shoehorns a far more nuanced, narrow perspective into issues.
Krakue suggested that many of the duchess’s ventures have not been especially well-received.(Image: meghan/Instagram)
Given her fame and wealth, Krakue’s main argument was that Meghan shouldn’t make her public persona complicated. “You’re hot. You wed a prince, right? Give the tea to us. All that she needs from us is, she said.
Referencing Meghan’s recent projects – including her podcast Archetypes and her Netflix series With Love – Krakue suggested that many of the duchess’s ventures have not been especially well-received. And that her millions mean that her business offerings are ‘low risk’.
She added that she wished her “every success,” and that her criticisms weren’t stemming from her own animosity.
Krakue came to the conclusion that Meghan might be trying too hard to project a perception that disintegrates with her reality. She doesn’t practice chemistry. She doesn’t study physics. And that’s fine, she said. It’s “always okay to just be pretty and have good fortune in life,” according to the saying.
Meghan also this week gave an update on her sold-out As Ever products, hinting that they might not be restocked straight away.
Meghan said she’s not in a rush to restock her As Ever jams (Image: INTERNET)
When the Duchess of Sussex launched her products, including her jam, honey and flower sprinkles earlier this year as part of her As Ever range, they sold out in just over 30 minutes.
Since then those who were unable to get their hands on the items have been patiently waiting for the As Ever website to be restocked. However, in a new interview, Meghan told of how instead of simply restocking, she wants to “take a step back, gather data and figure out what As Ever could be.”
Speaking to Fast Company, she revealed that new products were expected in the first quarter of next year. And teasing what they could be, she explained: “I want to really focus on the hospitality angle of As Ever, but as we take the learnings, we can understand what the customer’s needs are seasonally.”
As Ever may one day intend to sell items like cookbooks, tableware, and cutlery, according to a trademark application for the company. However, she continued, adding that she wants to also be interested in fashion. She continued, “I’ll look into the category of fashion at a later time because I think that’s an intriguing area for me.”

Fans are expected to spend more than $ 940 million in London, Manchester, Cardiff, and Edinburgh as a result of the highly anticipated reunion tour of Oasis.
Oasis reunion tour reveals eye-watering spend per fan as UK economy gains £940m(Image: Getty Images)
Following Taylor Swift’s record-breaking stadium tour last summer, Oasis are set to make a major economic splash with their highly anticipated reunion tour. The Oasis Live ’25 tour, which will take place across 17 shows in London, Manchester, Cardiff, and Edinburgh between July and September, is expected to draw nearly 1.4 million fans.
These fans are expected to spend an average of £682.80 per person on everything from tickets and travel to food, drink, shopping, and lodging, according to estimates, totaling £940.3 million for the duration of the tour.
This figure closely rivals the £997 million spent by fans during Taylor Swift’s 2024 UK Eras Tour. However, the net economic impact of Oasis’s tour – estimated at £274.4 million across the four host cities – is expected to significantly exceed the £122 million reported for Swift’s 15 UK shows, thanks to a higher proportion of spending staying within local economies.
Local businesses stand to gain significantly from new research from Novuna Personal Finance, with 57.9% of all fan spending projected to continue in host cities, bringing in much-needed revenue into regional high streets, hospitality, and tourism.
Spending Breakdown
Huge shows are on the horizon for Liam and Noel Gallagher.
Fans’ spending is expected to be as follows:
Food and beverage: total of £219 million, or £159 per person, on average.
Tickets costing more than £20 million overall, or £157.50 per fan (less than Swift’s average ticket spend of £206).
total spending £188 million on shopping and attractions, which support regional cultural hotspots and retailers?
Total travel: £166 million, including taxis, fuel, and public transportation.
According to projections, each concert will generate more than £55 million in ticket sales, with London shows expected to command, with each event costing on average £60 million. The city’s seven Wembley appearances will draw 630,000 fans, and they will contribute £426.3 million to total spending, generating a net economic impact of £109.3 million for London.
Manchester’s Heaton Park shows will bring in £277 million from five dates, contributing to 35% of the total tour budget, and supporting the city’s economy by giving them a $ 95.7 million grant. Net economic effects of $ 26.8 million and $ 42.6 million, respectively, will be felt in Cardiff and Edinburgh.
Overnight visitors are the biggest spenders, spending an average of £806.50 per person, nearly 20% more than the average, whereas day trippers will account for the majority of spending ($376 million). In host cities, many travelers stay longer, on average 2.19 nights, with longer stays in Manchester and Edinburgh (2.48 and 3.20 nights, respectively).

Local residents who attend events still give incredibly little (£590.30) to local businesses and public transportation while still receiving significant support.
Theresa Lindsay, Chief Marketing Officer at Novuna Personal Finance, told The Mirror: “The Oasis reunion is more than a once-in-a-generation music event – it’s a serious economic opportunity. With nearly 60% of spending staying in local communities, this tour is set to deliver a powerful and lasting boost to high streets, hospitality, and tourism across the UK.”
Oasis’s impact, “may be lower per head than Swifties’, but because so much of that money goes toward supporting regional economies, not just the entertainment sector.” It has national economic reach and is a home-grown success story.
