Andy Carroll ‘splits from Lou Teasdale due to her demands’ weeks after public row

Footballer Andy Carroll is said to have split from his girlfriend Lou Teasdale just weeks after their public row on holiday as her social media behaviour gets the blame

Andy Carroll and Lou Teasdale are said to have split

Andy Carroll has reportedly dumped his girlfriend Lou Teasdale after a series of public rows. The former England footballer, 36, was said to be working on the romance following a series of alcohol-fuelled arguments that led to police involvement.

He started dating Lou, 41, last year following his quiet split from ex-wife Billi Mucklow. In June, their relationship hit turbulence while on holiday in Greece.

Andy was reportedly questioned twice by police, once at a busy restaurant and again at a boutique hotel, over disputes with Lou. It comes as a staff member at the restaurant exclusively told The Mirror at the time: “We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately.

“He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.”

Despite trying to work through their issues, it seems the pair have decided it is now best for them to go their separate ways. The couple no longer appear to follow each other on social media.

A source told the Sun: “Andy got sick of Lou’s demands and her influencer lifestyle. She’s always posting on social media and he hates that. He told her it was over this week. He’s single now.”

The couple had issued a joint statement downplaying the events earlier this year. They said: “Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion.

“It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there. We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to ‘look after’ us.

“As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested, and no one was charged with anything. We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together.”

Andy reportedly vowed to change following the incident and stayed sober at Glastonbury to prove himself. The couple were later seen at the festival looking close and relaxed.

In exclusive pictures taken by The Mirror, the pair seemed happier than ever as they strolled around Worthy Farm one year after meeting there for the first time.

An insider told The Sun: “After everything that’s gone on lately, Andy wanted to make sure their first anniversary was special. Lou’s totally teetotal so he thought it would be nice for them to spend the weekend together sober. Andy adores Lou and would do anything for her.”

They added: “He knows she deserves better and wants to put any bad behaviour in the past to bed. Andy is convinced Lou is the one for him and is determined to get his act together and propose.”

The Mirror has contacted Lou and Andy’s representatives for comment.

In Flight star Stuart Martin’s life off screen with Rivals actress wife

Stuart Martin is back on our screens tonight in the gritty drama In Flight but away from the world of TV, he has a happy family with an actress who starred in Rivals last year

Stuart Martin is back on our screens tonight in the gritty drama In Flight. The actor, 39, stars as menacing gang leader Cormac in the new Channel 4 drama, who coerces flight attendant Jo Conran (Katherine Kelly) into using her job to repeatedly struggle drugs, in order to save the life of her son, who is currently behind bars for a murder he claims he did not commit.

The TV star has actually been something of a mainstay on screens for well over a decade, having initially played guest roles in shows such as Taggart in 2009 and a handful of episodes of the now-defunct Scottish soap River City. In 2014, he starred as Lannister Soldier in an episode of the HBO series Game of Thrones and then landed the more regular role of PC Tony Forbes in Babylon.

From 2017 until 2019, he appeared in all 24 episodes of Jamestown as Silas Sharrow, and then landed what is possibly his most famous role as Detective Inspector William Wellington on Miss Scarlett and the Duke. He played this part from 2020 until 2024, at which point the series continued on without him. On film, he has starred in both instalments of the space opera franchise Rebel Moon alongside the likes of Djimon Hounsou and Sofia Boutella.

Away from his life on screen, Stuart is married to actress Lisa McGrillis and she is known for her TV roles as well(Image: Instagram)

But away from his life on screen, Stuart is married to actress Lisa McGrillis. They celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary together, and are parents to Josh, eight, as well as four-year-old Cleo. Lisa has also starred in a number of television favourites, having first risen to prominence with her role as Vicki Pearson on the sitcom Hebburn alongside Chris Ramsey. Following that, she achieved further acclaim for her role as Sergeant Rachel Coles on Inspector George Gently, and was seen on the BBC drama series from 2014 until 2017.

Since 2022, she has held the main role of Courtney on Avoidance, but last year she starred as Valerie Jones on the smash-hit Disney+ comedy drama that was based on the book by Jilly Cooper and also featured the likes of Emily Atack, Danny Dyer and David Tennant. Lisa met her husband at the National Theatre’s bar more than a decade ago, but admitted that she became a ‘nervous wreck’ when their first child came along. She told The Sunday Post: “I was so busy for the first seven or eight months of my son’s life and by the end I was a nervous wreck, so jittery and tired. The two things don’t align – family life and filming. I look in the mirror and I’ve gone from looking like a spring chicken five years ago to a shrivelled old shoe.”

The couple often wow followers with their social media presence as they attend glamorous showbiz events together. In 2023, when Stuart starred in Rebel Moon, Lisa took to Instagram to write: “What a feast for your eyes, very proud of my action hero husband,” and emblazoned her gushing post with several heart emojis. More recently, the couple attended the Mediterrane Film Festival together, and shared a loved-up picture from the red carpet.

Lisa captioned that post: “Thank you for the most beautiful evening celebrating film and the rich culture of Malta, what a stunning evening that was.” And the post did not go unnoticed by their celebrity friends, as her Rivals co-star Emily Atack wrote: “I can’t quite handle how ft you both are,” whilst Emmerdale actress Chelsea Halfpenny simply wrote: “Hotties,” and left behind a heart emoji to boot.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Stuart admitted that a lot of work ‘suddenly went off the table’ as the pandemic took hold but even though he thought it was a ‘worrying and upsetting time for everyone’ in his industry, but found comfort in being able to spend time with his family. He told the Scotsman at the time: “Usually you’re going ‘right, up in the morning, got to do this!, and you’re distracted. Now, you’re really spending that time with each other. And the community stuff that’s coming out of it is lovely. There could definitely be a re-set for us all after this.”

At the same time, he admitted: “I’d have to say my wife and lad. But if I can have another? Actually no, I’m not sure I could live locked in a house for two months with anyone else. Or they could live with me. I’ll stick with my lockdowns. I wouldn’t inflict that on anyone, alive or dead.”

In Flight comprises six hour-long episodes, with the first set to air on Channel 4 on Tuesday, 12 August at 9pm. For viewers so taken in by the series, all episodes are available to view on the online streaming service on Tuesday or if episodes will be broadcast weekly on the channel.

Miriam Margolyes says ‘you can’t cancel me’ amid calls for her to be stripped of OBE

Harry Potter actress Miriam Margolyes has been vocal in calling out Israel’s actions in Gaza as she stands by her statements amid calls for her OBE to be taken from her

Miriam Margolyes has revealed she doesn’t fear getting cancelled after calling out Israel’s actions in Gaza. She says she has a responsibility to speak out and call for change and doesn’t worry about any consequences.

The actress, 84, called for fellow Jews around the world to “shout, beg, scream for a ceasefire” in Gaza last year. Miriam said she was “so ashamed of Israel” for defending its actions.

The Harry Potter star teamed up with the Jewish Council of Australia where she issued her video message. It comes after Bob Geldof issued a desperate plea on Sky News to save babies in Gaza.

There have been calls for Miriam to be stripped of her OBE after comparing the Israeli government’s actions to the Nazis during the Holocaust. In an interview with the Big Issue, she said: “I cannot bear to think that my people are doing exactly the same thing to another nation.”

Miriam has stood by her statements and has no worries about it. She told The Guardian newspaper: “People say: ‘You’re just an actor, for f***’s sake, shut up.’ Well, that is a point of view. I don’t happen to share that.

“I think that if you have a chance to make an impact for good, to change things, then you should. I think it’s an absolute requirement, and people don’t, out of fear sometimes. They are afraid of being cancelled. You can’t cancel me!”

Miriam also had the same sentiments in her interview with the BBC as she said: “They talk about cancel, being cancelled, but nobody’s going to cancel me, I’m not having it.

“I don’t think people should use that expression. Everybody should be able to express their opinion. What Israel is doing to Palestine is wicked and it’s totally against our upbringing as Jews.”

In her video last year, Miriam said: “To me, it seems as if Hitler has won. He’s changed us Jews from being compassionate and caring and do unto others as you would have them do unto you into this vicious, genocidal nationalist nation, pursuing and killing women and children.”

She condemned the actions of Hamas and allies on October 7. Miriam said what is happening in Gaza is “shocking, embarrassing and wicked and I cannot understand why all Jewish people, particularly members of synagogues, do not want immediately to stop what is going on.”

The actress was awarded an OBE in 2002 for Services to drama, but she has now faced calls for her to be stripped of the honour. The Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) responded to her statements and called it “repugnant”.

A statement from the CAA said: “The fact she was born Jewish does not give her license to use her immense platform to spread anti-Jewish venom.

“This has to be the end of the road. She must be shunned by the showbiz world that has fawned and bowed until now.” CAA added that it would write to the Honours Forfeiture Committee as well as BAFTA to ask them to remove Miriam of her titles.

Inside the ‘cruel’ Beckham family feud – blacklisted brothers and desperate efforts to heal rift

EXCLUSIVE: Associate Editor Tom Bryant on the inside story of the fall-out from Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz’s wedding vows renewal as the family feud deepens even further

When it came to the guest-list for Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz-Beckham’s lavish “second” wedding, few would have expected the groom’s parents David and Victoria to make the cut. As one Peltz-Beckham confidante bluntly put it: “In the current climate….hell would have had to freeze over before that happened.”

Such is the rift between Posh and Becks and their daughter-in-law Nicola that the pair only found out about the wedding vow renewal by reading it online. But it would seem that they were not the only ones supposedly black-listed from the lavish bash, which was attended by up to 200 people.

Friends of Nicola and Brooklyn have told how Brooklyn’s siblings Romeo and Cruz were also persona non grata after what they claim are a series of online barbs from the duo.

“Brooklyn’s brothers have been fanning the flames..they’ve openly made fun of and trolled Brooklyn in comments on social media,” said the pal. One comment under the spotlight was when Cruz responded to a post from a user asking him he was “going to stick with this job or going to become a race car driver next or something?”

To which Cruz, seemingly referring to his brother Brooklyn’s many career paths, responded: “Wrong brother mate”.

READ MORE: Brooklyn Beckham snubs entire family from Nicola Peltz vow renewal in ‘upsetting’ move

Quite why such a pretty much harmless comment would antagonise Brooklyn so much is curious to say the least. There are some who feel Nicola is looking for “any reason” to drive Brooklyn further from his brothers. She’s previously been accused of “isolating” her husband from not only his family, but his friends too.

Peltz’s friend was responding to questions as to why it was necessary to ban the whole Beckham family from the wedding celebration on August 2. We told yesterday how there was disappointment that not only Victoria and David were not invited but also his three siblings Cruz, Harper and Romeo, as well as his grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.

As one insider told me: “Why punish the whole family for what is essentially a fall-out with just the mum and dad.” Nicola and Brooklyn’s pals claim it was hard not to invite sister Harper, who is close to Brooklyn, as well as his grandparents.

The pal said: “They are trying to make the best decisions for them in what are very unfortunate circumstances. Navigating family stuff is hard and it’s ugly.”

Astonishingly, they still claim to hope for a reconciliation. The pal said: “The door is open. No one wants to see this kind of pain exist. There is always hope. At the end of the day. Blood is thicker than water.”

Such comments will doubtless antagonise the Beckhams. Not least as they see things very differently. I can reveal how the whole family have been trying for “many months” to get in touch and heal the rift with Brooklyn and his wife but to no avail.

Nicola Peltz

It’s not just David and Victoria who have been reaching out but also both sets of grandparents, and other family members. On Brooklyn’s recent trip to London, he didn’t see any family members, including his grandparents .

Meanwhile, the family were “totally poleaxed” by news of the wedding renewal which came with “zero warning.” They believe there is no excuse for not letting anyone know about it and just dropping a series of pictures on social media. Descriptions such as “cruel and heartless” have been used.

The fact that more pictures have been made public this time around rather than their first wedding in 2022 has undoubtedly made matters worse. In the snaps, Nicola wore her 70-year-old mother’s vintage 1985 bridal gown for the big day, while her father Nelson, 83, was given the key role of officiating. The choice of pictures, critics say, were “very pointed.”

Judging from the comments on Brooklyn and Nicola’s social media platforms, it would appear the public are firmly on the Beckhams’ side. One said: “Oh lets get married again so my in-laws aren’t in the pictures. Unbelievably cruel. Hope you never have a son.”

But Peltz’s friends are adamant they have done nothing wrong. They point to what they say are “massive double standards” at play in how both families are portrayed.

One said: “Whenever Nicola and Brooklyn stand up for themselves – or share how in love they are – they are seen as the bad guys. Take a look at Victoria’s Instagram feed…it’s all lovey-dovey. When Nicola does this she is accused of being terrible.”

As for the claims Nicola is isolating Brooklyn, her friends laugh this off too. They claimed: “Brooklyn’s friends flew in early to spend the week with him, and he had them staying with him in the build up. The pictures reflected what the goal was ….it was all about love. There was no ulterior motive.”

As for what happens next, the feud is certainly not harming Nicola’s career prospects.

“Nicola just wrapped a film in North Carolina which she was shooting this summer, and she has other film and TV projects in the works,” said a pal. Brooklyn too is busy promoting his hot sauce and recently did a partnership with Airbnb. Quizzed if they would ever do a big sit-down chat about the feud, the pal says it’s not their style.

“They dont want the attention…they are about peace instead,” they said.

Romeo Beckham shuns first class on Jet2 flight as Brooklyn bonds with billionaire in-laws

Former footballer Romeo Beckham was spotted getting on a budget airline flight in Birmingham as his older brother Brooklyn Beckham snubbed his family at his vow renewals

Romeo Beckham had Jet2 passengers doing a double take as he was spotted patiently waiting for a budget flight rather than his parent’s private jet. The son of David and Victoria Beckham kept a low profile as he opted for a cheap getaway.

He has millions in the bank thanks to his famous mum and dad, but donned a black hoodie and matching jogging bottoms as he queued up with fellow passengers. Romeo kept busy on his phone as he was snapped waiting by barriers at Birmingham Airport.

The former footballer was then snapped on the plane as he took a window seat for the journey. It comes after Romeo and his famous family were snubbed from brother Brooklyn’s vow renewals to Nicola Peltz, with his billionaire father-in-law officiating the service.

Romeo wore a black beanie hat and kept his headphones in as he flew to France. He was captured in zmj703’s TikTok video, with many fans stunned he chose to fly with the budget airline.

However, it seemed to be his expensive choice of luggage that gave the game away for him. One said: “Blending in with thousands and thousands of pounds worth of bags.”

Another added: “Just shows he’s normal like the rest of us…” It seems Romeo is keen to keep busy and focus on doing his own thing as his family’s feud rumbles on.

Earlier this month, Brooklyn and his wife of three years Nicola decided to renew their vows but only in front of her family. Not only were his parents David and Victoria in the dark, but so too were his three siblings Cruz, Harper and Romeo, as well as his grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.

None of Brooklyn’s UK-based friends were invited to the Los Angeles-based service and it is thought the first everyone knew about the service was when they read about it in media reports.

A source told the Mirror: “It must have been very upsetting to find out this way.” This week, Nicola and Brooklyn revealed photos of their special day as they flooded their social media with the snaps.

“We just wanted a really beautiful experience — a really cute memory,” Brooklyn told People about the decision. “To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her.

“I think the most important thing that someone can do is find that person that they’re going to spend the rest of their life with. It definitely shapes you as a person. Yeah, it was really, really cute. It was really fun.”

Nicola’s billionaire dad Nelson took on a starring role as officiant, three years on from their $3million bash at the Peltz family’s sea front estate in Florida. It’s understood that their estrangement from Brooklyn’s family was first sparked on their big day, with reports of disagreements with Victoria over the wedding gown and a song choice she was said to have ‘stolen’ from the couple.

Signs of a rift have steadily been showing between Brooklyn and the rest of the Beckhams, with cracks having already been spotted at the pair’s original wedding.

Article continues below

Since then, Brooklyn has opted to shun his family, going as far as to snub his own father’s 50th birthday plans and his knighthood. His brothers Romeo and Cruz are no longer appearing to follow Brooklyn on social media.
