Gwyneth Paltrow’s lookalike daughter Apple Martin vows at Paris debutante ball

Tall, slim and blonde, this Apple didn’t fall far from the tree… and Gwyneth Paltrow appears to be the world’s most devoted mother.

Apple Martin, 20, made her society debut at the annual Le Bal des Debutantes in Paris. Hollywood star Gwyneth, 52, and Apple’s dad, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, 47, were there to support her on Saturday, along with her brother Moses, 18, and Gwyneth’s mum Blythe Danner, 81.

Apple’s Valentino sky blue gown took 750 hours to complete. Last year, Gwyneth, who is now married to TV producer Brad Falchuk, said Apple was an “amazing best friend” who was “just so much fun to be with”.

It comes after it was confirmed that Gwyneth, who has been absent from the big screen for five years, is starring alongside 28-year-old Dune actor Timothée Chalamet in Josh Safdie’s forthcoming film Marty Supreme. The film is based on the life of professional table tennis player Marty Reisman, who reportedly hit speeds of 115 mph with a forehand shot between 1946 and 2002.

The film, co-written by Safdie and Ronald Bronstein, is being produced by A24 and will mark Paltrow’s first cinematic appearance since her role as Pepper Potts, Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr. ) partner, in 2019’s Avengers Endgame. Despite admitting to enjoying her time as the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for 11 years following her debut in the 2008 film Iron Man-Palentrow, she now feels that the superhero franchise’s rundown was upon her. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar magazine, she said: “I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit… Because I actually got talked into it, I feel very fortunate that I did it. “

“I was friends with [Iron Man director] Jon Favreau. Making the first Iron Man and then observing how significant it has become to fans was a wonderful experience. The actress, who is currently the brains behind lifestyle brand Goop, declared that she will never have any acting experience. “

When she looked back on her career, she acknowledged that she had completely cut herself off from the demands of the show business world: “When I was acting, I really burned myself out… I really got to the point where even the little things, like sitting in the van going to set, getting your make-up touch-ups, and everything – I really don’t know that I can bear it. “

The 52-year-old Goop guru revealed that her moment of clarity occurred while filming Proof in 2005 as she prepared for her daughter Apple. She said: “The last movie I starred in, I was pregnant with my daughter. It was a movie called Proof, an adaptation of a play I did in London, and I was like, ‘I’ve had it. I can’t do this anymore. ‘

“I had morning sickness and I was dying, and I had these five-page monologues. I knew that I would have to take a lot of time off when I had her. And I’ve never appeared in another movie. “

Every Gregg Wallace complaint from Celebrity MasterChef contestants as winner alleges ‘bum touch’

Gregg Wallace, the star of Celebrity MasterChef, is being sued after being accused of “inappropriate behavior” by a number of women.

The 60-year-old actor has refuted claims that he made inappropriate sexual remarks. Following the news that an investigation would be launched into his alleged conduct, Sir Rod Stewart referred to Wallace as a “tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully” after the musician claimed Gregg had bullied his wife, Penny Lancaster, while she was on the show.

Emma Kennedy, a winner of the 2012 Celebrity MasterChef contest, has now claimed Gregg touched an assistant on the bum, causing a quick reaction. Elsewhere, TV star Ulrika Jonsson has claimed another female contestant heard Wallace make a ‘ rape joke ‘ on MasterChef.

According to a statement from the show’s production company Banijay UK, Wallace is “committed to fully cooperating throughout the process” while the BBC is conducting its investigation. In response to the investigation, he has also resigned from his position on the program. Gregg took to social media to refute the accusations, saying they were made by “middle-class women of a certain age.”

Gregg’s attorneys claim that it is entirely false that he acts in a sexually harassing manner. Celebrity MasterChef contestants have made the accusations listed below.

Kirsty talked about how he told “sexualised” jokes during filming (BBC)

Kirsty Wark

Among those who have made complaints is Kirsty Wark, who was a Celebrity MasterChef contestant in 2011. She talked about how he told “sexualised” jokes during filming.

Broadcaster Kirsty, best known for hosting BBC Newsnight, claimed earlier this week that Wallace told “jokes of a sexualised nature” on two occasions during filming. She added that the contestants’ crew and other guests were present. Speaking to BBC News, Kirsty said Wallace’s alleged remarks were “really, really in the wrong place”.

Kirsty said she was considering opening her own restaurant after finishing second on Celebrity Masterchef that year. Asked in a BBC radio interview in 2012 if she fancied opening a restaurant or café, she said: “I have registered a domain name of Kirsty’s Kitchen. I’m not yet certain what I will do with it. It would be fun”.

Penny Lancaster

Sir Rod Stewart took to his Instagram page to hit out at Wallace and called him a ‘ tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully ‘ (BBC)

After the accusations emerged, Sir Rod Stewart took to his Instagram page to hit out at Wallace and called him a “tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully”. He wrote: “So Greg Wallace gets fired from Masterchef. You humiliated my wife while she was on the show, but did you not have that little bit cut out? You’re a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya. Sir Rod Stewart”.

In 2021, Model Penny competed in the celebrity version of the BBC cooking show, but she was unable to advance past the quarterfinals. Her butternut squash ravioli went 10 minutes overdue despite impressing Wallace and fellow host John Torode with some of her dishes.

Viewers saw Wallace tell Penny: ‘ Mate, we can’t be 10 minutes late, “as he called her delay in delivering the dish” serious”. But Penny was having none of it as she hit back:” Well, we’re going to have to be, otherwise I won’t have a dish. “Afterwards she admitted:” Everything piled on top of me. I’m just hoping the wait was worthwhile.

Penny’s recent statement from a company spokeswoman indicated that she is ready to contact the authorities. They told Mail Online that Penny would not be discussing the subject with any broadcaster or newspaper at this time if she were to be asked to speak with the appropriate authorities if she felt she had anything to add.

Ulrika Jonsson

 Ulrika Jonsson
Wallace allegedly made a “rape joke” on MasterChef (PA), according to Ulrika.

Ulrika Jonsson also made a claim about Wallace on her Instagram Stories. The TV presenter and model, 57, claimed another female contestant heard Wallace make a ‘rape joke’ on MasterChef. The Swedish-British star, who took part in the show in 2017, claimed that she felt like she was being ‘made a liar of’ after Gregg’s lawyers insisted that all the claims were ‘entirely false’.

She claimed in another Instagram story that several Masterchef crew members were aware of what was happening and had allegedly witnessed Gregg’s inappropriate behavior. There are many crew members on set who “would not dare to speak up for fear of losing their jobs,” she claimed.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Jonsson claimed that another female contestant had become” really distressed “after Wallace’s alleged remarks. The woman’s mother claimed to have witnessed her on set and inquired about what had happened before Jonsson learned of the alleged “rape joke.” Then, she explained that Gregg Wallace had raped us. She expressed extreme grief about it.

The contestant then decided to speak with a producer about the incident and read the joke again to Jonsson. They then went off to speak to Gregg, “she said”. After a while he came up…and he apologised. He struggled to communicate his ideas… He was apologising, and he had tears in his eyes. “

Ulrika has since criticised Gregg, who he claims was “ignored and haughty” after his video, in which he claimed the allegations were made by “middle-class women of a certain age. “Speaking to The Sun, she said:” I am nothing short of seething. Somewhere in his misogynistic, thoughtless, ancient mind he felt it appropriate to tell the world this. Oh, Gregg. Your obnoxiness and arrogance are unmatched. Firstly, you have no idea what “class” of women have complained about you. We can tell for certain that they are more sophisticated than you will ever be.

Charlotte Crosby

 Charlotte Crosby
While she was on the program (PA), Charlotte claimed that he was “unforgiving” of her.

Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby, who appeared on the latest Celebrity MasterChef, told her followers: “He was extremely unpleasant to me when I was on MasterChef.” The TV star didn’t expand on her claim but previously spoke of her time on MasterChef while on the One Show. She said: “There’s something about that space and that studio you feel like a little kid again. It’s horrible, all the lights are on you. The pressure – it’s really scary. There was a lot of emotion!”

It is completely false that Wallace engages in sexually harassing behavior, according to Wallace’s attorneys. Additionally, the BBC said in a statement that “we take any issues that are brought up with us seriously and have effective solutions in place.” We are always making it clear that any behavior that does not meet the standards set by the BBC will be tolerated.

“We share any complaints or concerns with an external production company when we are contracted directly with them,” states the statement. “We will always help them when we are addressing them.” We wouldn’t be able to make any comments on anything that might be used to influence or influence Banijay’s ongoing investigation.

2012 Celebrity MasterChef winner Emma Kennedy claims she flagged that she believed she saw Gregg touch a photographer assistant’s bottom. She said: “I told an assistant producer, I told a producer, and I told the head of PR at Masterchef. I got the sense that this was something that they were well used to, if I’m being honest, and that it was just a sort of ‘roll your eyes’, and well, ‘this is Gregg being Gregg’.”

I’m A Celeb’s Barry McGuigan puts his vocal skills down to Eurovision star dad after ‘lovely’ duet

Thanks to his father, who placed fourth at Eurovision, Barry McGuigan’s impressive vocals demonstrate that he has a musical family.

The former world champion performed the McFly song Shine A Light while Danny Jones and the former world champion hit all the right notes. Afterwards, campmate Rev Richard Coles remarked: “Revelation of the evening, Barry McGuigan can sing like a canary. It was lovely”.

It is, however, that Barry, who has a reputation for his song Chance of a Lifetime, was chosen as the son of his father Pat, who won the 1968 song contest at the Royal Albert Hall in West London. Among his rivals that year was Cliff Richard, who came second with his smash hit Congratulations.

During the trial, Barry's face was covered in spiders.
During the trial, Barry’s face was covered in spiders.

Barry has previously described his father’s “hugely important role” in my life, who passed away in 1987 at the age of 52. Pat, who used the stage surname of McGeegan, was also renowned for singing Danny Boy before several of his son’s fights.

Barry, 63, said of him: “He was a travelling musician with great credibility, and he played four or five musical instruments and sang in several big bands, and then sang in a number of show bands. Then, he was chosen for the Eurovision Song Contest. Our hometown was abuzz.

On I'm a Celeb, Barry and Danny Jones performed together.

We thought it was very significant. I can recall leaving the road to meet him after returning from Dublin; it was very exciting as a child.

“And I suppose that was one of his most significant and most well-known moments, which made the Eurovision festival so important to my life in many ways.” Funnily enough, my biggest moment occurred on the BBC at Loftus Road against Eusebio Pedroza, at a venue with an audience of almost 20 million.

After the trial, Barry celebrates.

Barry famously defeated his Panamanian rival on that night to win the WBA featherweight title. The Northern Irishman believes that his beloved father, who lost to Massiel to the Eurovision Song Contest, was a performer during the song competition’s height. When my grandfather was involved with it for so long, Barry said, “I would like to think it had a little more credibility.

” The year that dad took part… we had Cliff with Congratulations. And shortly afterwards, ABBA won. It had more gravitas, but now it’s more of a throwaway. After surviving the most recent Bushtucker Trial, Spiralling out of control, Barry has lived to fight another day.

MasterChef can solve the BBC’s Gregg Wallace problem by doing this one easy thing

Feeling Sunday night blues? Take five minutes to reflect on the week as Daily Mirror Columnist Jessica Boulton presents Jess Saying, her wry, witty, and whimsical recap of the past seven days in the showbiz industry.

Monday Madness

Santa will need to get up off the couch and do some work in a month. However, All He Wants For Christmas has already been received by Rylan Clark.

For he’s done a festive special with none other than the Queen of Christmas, herself, Mariah Carey. However, Rylan has done something that even Santa could never manage to get away with, besides interviewing yet another A-list star (adding his list of Madonna, Kylie, and Cher).

Mariah Carey was bravely kept waiting (PR) by Rylan Clark.

He’s out diva-ed Mariah. Yes, former Big Brother star Ry replaced Mariah, who is most renowned for her extravagant riders. How? He kept her WAITING. For 30 MINUTES.

OK, it turns out it was because the legendary diva was early, but still.

“She had to wait for me”, said Rylan this week. “I was so embarrassed”.

To be fair, he must have felt bad if he’s said that. Judging from some of the things he’s done on TV, like some of his early style choices on The X Factor, for instance….

Rylan in his blonde era on The X Factor
In his dubious long-haired heyday (PA), Rylan auditions for The X Factor in 2012.

… his standard embarrassment threshold is unusually high.

Jives before Jibes? Tuesday

The showbiz world has been forced to endure a massive loss, it was confirmed this week: Craig Revel Horwood’s cutthroat barbs.

Yes, Craig has admitted to feeling less resentment toward his once legendary jibes out of fear of being “canceled.”

Whether this loss represents another “victim of” or another “victory for” woke culture, I’ll leave for you to debate.

However, what Craig has to say about himself will make people giggle. He claims that he has changed from the “class bully” he used to be to “more like a teacher” and offers “the truth in a nice way.” (To continue the school analogy.)

One may argue, however, that the new-look Craig isn’t quite as soft and cuddly as he’s implying. For he may just be directing his “wit” elsewhere: in Anton Du Beke’s direction perhaps.

Let’s review the evidence:

1. There was this quip when Anton told him his age: “You should tell your surgeon, darling. It’s not working out for you”!, said Craig. Ouch

2. Then this zinger: “Anton, darling, are you going to be standing up any more? It’s getting really on my nerves. Just saying”.

3. And finally, this outfit.

Craig Revel Horwood and Anton du Beke as The Shining twins
The Shining (INTERNET) stars Anton du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood as twins.

Getting your best friend to dress like the creepy twin from The Shining? Sorry, Craig, but I think you’re still a Mean Girl Regina George at heart.

Got the hump Wednesday

In what appears to be a positive sign for his upcoming album, Chesney Hawkes’ new single Live Forever was received much fanfare and a Radio 2 premiere on Wednesday.

However, it turns out Ches has other long-range plans for living. He’s also pretty good at holding a grudge.

Additionally, Phillip Schofield vs. One and Only Chesney Hawkes has become a very unexpected showbiz feud this week.

And it was all over? The 1991 Smash Hits Poll Winners Party.

Phil's skit at the Smash Hits Poll Winners' Party 1991 but it seems Chesney now has different idea about who should go to hell.
Phil’s skit at the Smash Hits Poll Winners ‘ Party 1991. Chesney didn’t like being ‘ banished to hell ‘ – but I’m sure he’d tell Phil to go there….. (Youtube)

aI know what you’re thinking – could it be any more nostalgic? Chuck in an ER boxset, a Friends binge-watch and a Nirvana (OK, Aqua) CD, and I’m practically back to my 90s ‘ teen self.

But in summary, Chesney is still fuming former pal Phil jumped on the anti-Hawkes bandwagon during the 90s ‘ too-cool-for-school grunge era.

And it came to a head at the iconic awards show, when Phil pretended to “banish” a “lookalike” Chesney into a fiery pit of hell? with a pitchfor

“They had this guy wearing a blond wig and mole.” It was awful”, said poor Chesney. “I was 19. It was unacceptable”.

]He] was old enough to know better. “

As grievances go it’s pretty unique. And one can see why young Ches might have felt a little, erm, fired up about the experience.

Schofield’s camp is yet to respond to requests for a comment. So may I suggest a PR strategy, Phil? Don’t get burnt – find yourself a puppet to take the fall, a scapegoat……

It's no good looking so shocked, Gordon! Your pawprints are all over the skit! You're Phil's right hand after all.
It’s no good looking so shocked, Gordon! Your pawprints are all over the skit! You’re Phil’s right hand after all.

….. Or better yet, a scape-gopher

Tough Rod Thursday

Gregg Wallace has been experiencing the heat this week, and not just in the kitchen.

For, on Thursday, it was revealed he would be leaving MasterChef after nearly 20 years, along with John Torode.

Surprisingly, it’s not because…

A) Someone finally questioned why a former greengrocer without any formal training in the kitchen could judge aspiring top chefs.

B) Someone’s raised suspicions he’s lost all sense of taste (albeit just sartorially).

It’s actually, as you’ll all have seen, for a serious reason: TV bosses have launched an investigation into multiple allegations of misconduct, including numerous accusations that he made unsolicited sexual comments in the workplace.

Any suggestion that Wallace acts sexually harassingly is false, according to his attorneys.

But until the investigation is concluded, he will not be taking part in the show.

In line with journalistic standards, there’s no more I should say.

But Sir Rod Stewart, whose wife Penny Lancaster appeared on Celebrity MasterChef, is, um, not a journalist.

Penny Lancaster was booted out of the Celebrity MasterChef kitchen in 2021
Penny Lancaster’s appearance on Celebrity MasterChef (BBC) sparked a stir.

And he tweeted:” Good riddance Wallace? You’re a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya. Sir Rod Stewart. “

While the tweet is, erm, subtle and measured, one could just about surmise: Sir Rod isn’t too cut up about Gregg’s imminent grilling. You might even go on a limb and say, He’s hoping Gregg’s goose is cooked.

Fake it? Friday

The BBC have another big problem. MasterChef: The Professionals is pre-recorded and – gasp! – currently on air. So either they cut it out of the schedules or they must think differently. And quickly.

They’re not the first to find themselves in this kind of sticky situation.

What should you do when the shrewd lead is accused of sending inappropriate sexual messages after spending hundreds of millions on Agatha Christie’s Death On The Nile?

.. about his CANNIBAL fantasies?

As Armie Hammer continued to refute the claims, Mickey and co. decided to continue filming and release it anyway, but a year later in 2022.

But while the movie didn’t sink, Armie’s scandal is thought to have cost them an arm and a leg in potential lost revenue.

The Beeb could do the same with Kevin Spacey’s role in 2017’s All The Money in the World by reshooting all of his scenes with a different actor (the incredibly talented Christopher Plummer).

Gregg Wallace has already pre-recorded BBC's Masterchef: The Professionals as well as a Christmas special, but is there an easy solution?
Gregg Wallace has already pre-recorded BBC’s Masterchef: The Professionals as well as a Christmas special, but is there an easy solution? (BBC/Shine TV)

One doubts next year’s MasterChef has Ridley’s kind of budget though – or the budget for any hi-tech AI deep fakery.

Gen Z might have the solution, though, so why not just use a smartphone filter for good? Run the existing footage through a novelty app, select any cartoon effect you want, and, hey presto, Gregg’s got a new face…

…. and the Beeb won’t have egg on their’s.

Picture of the Week

This week, Hollywood has been a nightmare.

If you’re a Hollywood A-lister, on the other hand, it’s been that wonderful time of year when they get together as a family, cook a gorgeous wholesome meal, and share lots of happy… snaps on Instagram, of course.

So it was encouraging to see some big names who were more interested in helping others than generating likes.

The Batman actor didn’t spend the day licking his wounds in his man cave, which was his first since second wife J-Lo filed for divorce.

Instead, he, his three children and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner – aka Deadpool’s Elektra – volunteered with a charity dishing out food for the homeless of LA’s Skid Row.

He’s got plenty of it already.

Sir Elton John tells fans ‘I’ve lost my eyesight’ before he’s led off stage by David Furnish

Sir Elton John told fans he’s “lost his eyesight” in a rare health admission.

Along with his husband David Furnish, the legendary musician was a part of a production of The Devil Wears Prada in London’s West End. However, the 77-year-old rocker was led away from the stage by David. It comes after Elton admitted to having an infection that had left him feeling “stuck.”

Speaking at the theatre, he told fans: “I’ve lost my eyesight and cannot see the stage”. He continued, “I have had issues and I have now lost my sight,” as some of you may be aware of. Although I wasn’t able to witness the performance, I found it entertaining. It’s difficult for me to see it, but my husband has been my rock because I’ve missed seeing a lot of the previews, and it sounded good tonight, okay. Thank you for coming”! Following the performance, Sir Elton made sure to stay and meet the cast and crew, according to sources close to the Mirror.

Elton previously said the eye infection, diagnosed earlier this year, has stalled his music recording. Sir Elton continued: “It’s been a while since I’ve done anything, and well, I just have to get off my backside. Due to an infection in the south of France, I had to have my right eye removed in July, and it has been four months since then. My left eye is not as good as it can. So there’s hope and encouragement that it will be OK, but it’s… I’m kind of stuck at the moment, because I can do something like this (an interview), but going into the studio and recording, I don’t know, because I can’t see a lyric for a start”.

In September, Sir Elton told his social media followers he was “healing” after the infection but his recovery had been slowed down. He revealed that he was considering putting together a new album with Bernie Taupin, his long-time collaborator, during a conversation on ABC News’ Good Morning America.

The father-of-two also revealed that while on vacation in South of France, he lost sight. The actress stated on Instagram in September that she had been suffering from an eye infection that had left her with only limited vision in one eye. Although I’m healing, it will take some time before the impacted eye can see again.

I’m so appreciative of the excellent team of doctors, nurses, and my family for taking such good care of me lately. I’ve been recuperating at home for the summer, and I’m feeling optimistic about how far my healing and recovery have gone. With love and gratitude. “

The musician has completely changed his way of life and admits to observing his food since his health scare. Revealing it had been a” long time “since he’d enjoyed a sweet treat, he said:” I can have an apple, I can eat a bit of melon. As long as you’re sensible about it, it doesn’t shoot your blood sugar up. But what I crave is chocolate and ice cream, I can’t have any ice cream. “

Talking on Lady Ruth Rogers ‘ Ruthie’s Table 4 podcast, he added:” If I had a death row meal, it wouldn’t contain anything except sweets, because I can’t eat them now. So, I’d have ice cream, donuts, apple pie, rhubarb crumble. “Elton, who was first identified with Type 2 diabetes in 2000, has had a number of health issues recently.

Gregg Wallace ‘touched MasterChef assistant on the bum’ claims celebrity winner

Gregg Wallace is accused of touching a young MasterChef assistant’s bum with his hands.

In recent days, Gregg, 60, has been accused of making inappropriate sexual remarks and jokes by 13 people over a 17 year period. In a statement sent via the aid of his legal representatives, he vehemently refuted the allegations. Wallace has also been accused of groping others after leaving the BBC cooking program in the wake of an internal investigation.

He addressed the allegations on Instagram on Sunday despite the fact that his statements have previously been made through his official representatives. The cooking expert made a point on Instagram by criticizing those who had accused him and saying that he had never had any complaints since working on screens for 20 years. He claimed that some of the women on MasterChef had made sexual comments of their own and that their accusers were “a small number of middle-class women of a certain age.”

Emma Kennedy, who appeared on the 2012 Celebrity MasterChef season, has since shared her own experiences with Times Radio. Although she admits she never saw Gregg as a “sexual predator”, she claims she did witness “inappropriate behaviour”. Speaking to Times Radio, Emma said: “I went into the studio and it was me and Greg and the photographer’s assistant and the photographer’s assistant was a young woman, very attractive young woman, and she was bending over dealing with some equipment.

Emma Kennedy, a famous MasterChef winner, claims Gregg “touched the bum” of a BBB assistant.

And as she bent over, Gregg in front of me turned around and put his hands on her buttocks before laughing as if it were a joke. “When asked by presenter Ayesha Hazarika to confirm that Wallace’s hands were on the young woman’s bum, Emma continued:” I think I, now the angle that I was at, I cannot say for 100% but she did instantly react, so I do believe that he touched her. Yes.

“I, it was like a combination of things. It’s like, I believe, at first, I thought he felt at ease saying that in front of another woman. But I think, and I am going to make this distinction, I don’t think he did it as an act of sexual aggression. He probably did it because he thought it was funny, in my opinion. She went on to tell Times Radio: “And I can only speak about, you know, my experience with Gregg and although I saw quite a lot of inappropriate behaviour, I never sort of felt, okay, you’re a sexual predator. He was evil, I never thought. But what I did think, but what I did think was that he just doesn’t understand that some behaviour is completely inappropriate. And I said to him at the time, you can’t do that stuff, Gregg. And it sort of went in one ear and out the other, I think”.

Gregg recently hit out at 'middle-class women of a certain age' complaining about him
Gregg recently addressed his comments to “middle-class women of a certain age” (The Daily Mirror).

Ayesha praised Emma for acting on the spot but when asked about Gregg’s reaction, Kennedy replied: “Well, as I say, I think it just went in one ear and out the other. His fundamental flaw is, in my opinion, that he simply doesn’t understand it. Emma claims she was “very aware” that the young woman hadn’t reported the incident.

She had just arrived that morning, and the show’s star had done something inappropriate, so the young woman is never going to say a word about it. Emma continued, claiming she had spoken with a producer, producer, and MasterChef’s head of publicity but had no idea what was done.

The broadcaster claims she had no formal discussion about her complaint and that she felt “they were well-used to it,” adding, “This is Gregg being Gregg.” She later claimed that a member of the MasterChef team had spoken to her after another incident and that she had been told, “When will the Gregg Wallace problem come to light?”

It would be wrong to report that the BBC has not done anything when or when issues have been raised with us, not least because it is already widely reported that there have been interventions in both 2017 and 2018 where action has been taken. This is especially true when there is an ongoing process being run by Banijay who have the direct contractual relationship with Gregg Wallace.

We continue to advise caution when judging any of this, particularly the BBC staff’s involvement and any conclusions that they have drawn incompetently. We take any concerns that are raised with us seriously and have effective procedures in place to handle them, according to a BBC spokesperson. We are always making it clear that any behavior that does not meet the standards set by the BBC will be tolerated.

“We share any complaints or concerns with an external production company when we are contracted directly with them,” states the statement. “We will always help them when we are addressing them.” We wouldn’t be able to make any comments on anything that might be used to influence or influence Banijay’s ongoing investigation.

Banijay UK, a production company for MasterChef, has since confirmed that Lewis Silkin has been hired to oversee the investigation into Wallace’s alleged misconduct. While working with Wallace, the production company discovered that individuals had complained to the BBC about “historical allegations of misconduct.” A spokesperson for Banijay UK said: “Lewis Silkin is a significant City law firm with a highly qualified specialist investigations team that has handled a variety of highly regarded workplace investigations. Banijay UK has been impressed by the firm’s rigorous, in-depth, and impartial analysis and reporting”.

They said anyone wishing to raise further concerns could contact the investigation team via atbanijayinvestigation@lewissilkin.com. The spokesperson added: “All information will be handled sensitively, and names of those providing evidence to the team will be kept confidential”. They stated earlier this week that Wallace is “committed to fully cooperating throughout the process.”

Following complaints from individuals about past allegations of misconduct, Gregg left last week. Kirsty Wark, a former Newsnight host, is one of 13 people who allege the MasterChef presenter made inappropriate sexual remarks.
