Kate Middleton’s go-to wellies just launched an unexpected autumn collaboration

Kate Middleton is a known fan of Le Chameau’s wellies, and the brand just dropped a brand new collection for autumn that’s perfect for rainy days in the countryside

With autumn drawing in and the rain threatening to dampen all of our favourite outdoor activities, a good pair of wellies has never been more important. But practicality and stylishness don’t have to be mutually exclusive, as proven by Kate Middleton’s go-to pair of Le Chameau.

The Princess of Wales has been spotted in a pair of the brand’s £180 green Vierzon Wellington Boots even before she joined the Royal family, cementing them as a key part of her outdoors style. And now, to celebrate the new season, Le Chameau has launched another partnership that’s completely unexpected, but makes perfect sense; the Le Chameau X National Trust collection.

The collaboration takes Le Chameau’s classic designs and gives them a fresh new update ready to spend autumn outdoors with the UK’s best-loved heritage charity. The Le Chameau X National Trust collection features an upgraded version of Princess Kate’s go-to wellies, with the National Trust Vierzon Jersey Lined Wellington Boot priced at £220.

This new version of the boots is the brand’s most sustainable yet, made with a jersey lining made from organic cotton and recycled polyester, a removable antibacterial insole made with recycled materials. Even the adjustable straps are crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled bottles, with 10% from each purchase going directly to the National Trust to support its conservational work.

Le Chameau’s National Trust Vierzon Jersey Lined Wellington Boots come in an oak green colourway that’s not dissimilar to Princess Kate’s favourite colourway, and feature a unique Le Chameau X National Trust logo on the front. They also have a bespoke Écho lining print that was inspired by Buckland Abbey to honour Britain’s natural and cultural heritage.

The collection includes a pair of both men’s and women’s boots, as well as a £35 boot bag, which not only protects your new wellies from getting damaged, but helps keep your car and home clean from any mud you’ve picked up on your adventures. The boots are fully waterproof and fully lined to make sure your feet stay warm as well as dry, and will hold up against all manner of puddles, mud and fallen leaves that might cross your bath during the colder months.

Whilst you might not think of wellies as being something that can trend, other brands that have an impressive celebrity following include Hunter, with the Original Tall Boots regularly making an appearance at festivals on the feet of stars. We also spotted plenty of pairs of Barbour’s ankle length wellies at festivals like Glastonbury this year, and the Barbour Nimbus Chelsea Welly In Olive/Black are now £49 down from £70.

However, if you want to take a leaf out of the Royals book, the Le Chameau X National Trust collection is the perfect place to pick up some chic and practical wellies for winter. If they’re good enough for Princess Kate, they’re definitely good enough for us!

‘This is the advent calendar beauty editors recommend every year – it’s worth the hype’

I’ve been reviewing beauty advent calendars for years and now I see why Liberty London’s is truly one of the best, says our beauty editor – and 2025’s is now available to buy

This is my favourite beauty advent calendar of the year so far(Image: Laura Mulley)

Autumn may only just be here but beauty advent calendars have been hitting the shelves for a few weeks now, and we’ve already started flagging the best ones to buy this year.

As a beauty editor of almost 15 years, I’ve seen the popularity of beauty advent calendars grow hugely over the years, and been lucky enough to look inside, and often keep, many for myself. However, there was always one that I never got my hands on and had always been at the top of my wish list: Liberty London’s beauty advent calendar. Until now, that it.

Liberty’s Beauty Advent Calendar 2025 has now gone live, and this year costs £275 with contents inside worth £1,245 and, despite having cupboards full of products, I’m thrilled that I own one this year – a sentiment shared amongst many of my beauty editor peers, I’ve seen. Although not cheap (beauty advent calendars often aren’t), here’s why I think it’s honestly worth the money if you’re a beauty lover…

Firstly, one of its biggest draws: the packaging. The luxury experience starts by opening the beautiful printed drawstring bag to reveal the equally beautiful box inside. Always a different version of the iconic storefront, this year’s celebrates 150 years of the shop, with a design that’s packed with details.

Inside, the 25 drawers come in Liberty’s jewel-coloured Ianthe print, and are sturdy and high-quality. This could be said of lots of advent calendars but Liberty’s is honestly one I will keep once empty for as long as I can to fill up for others – adults and children alike – in the future.

What’s inside the Liberty 2025 Beauty Advent Calendar?

Of course, what’s inside is even more important, and this calendar absolutely doesn’t disappoint here, bringing you the very best of Liberty’s beauty hall. As well as an incredible value, if you’re after niche luxury products that you won’t find in other calendars, this is the one for you.

The 30 products inside (20 of which as full size) include big-name brands such as La Mer, Augustinus Bader and Trinny London, as well as some smaller brands that you might not have heard of before, including the likes of Mirror Water, Verden and Dr. David Jack. Although containing a lot of skincare (which will suit most), there’s also a good range of fragrance, hair, body and make-up treats inside.

Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar 2025

Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar 2025

£275

Buy here

The products I’m personally most excited to try are La Mer The Lip Balm (worth £65, it’s an expensive treat that I would never buy myself), the Lisa Eldridge Eye Pencil (I love her products) and some of the niche fragrances from Vilhelm Parfumerie, Bibbi and Matiere Premiere.

In fact, there’s only one product that I won’t use – Trish McEvoy Sheer Lip Colour – as I don’t wear lipstick (and the deep purple shade is a little intimidating!).

Is the Liberty 2025 Beauty Advent Calendar worth it?

At £275 it’s certainly not cheap, although if you can afford it and you’re into your luxury or niche beauty, I do think the Liberty London calendar is totally worth it. Even as a seasoned beauty expert, I genuinely squealed when I opened this, and almost every product inside had me excited to use it. Like most, there’s also the saving: almost £1,000 compared to buying the products individually.

The box is also stunning, and higher quality that lots of others, giving potentially years of future use.

When does the Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar sell out?

While currently still on sale at the time of writing, the most popular beauty advent calendars do sell out quickly, even this early in the year, and I’m sure this Liberty one is no exception (I can’t imagine this one hanging around until November, for example). If you’ve got your heart set on it, I’d definitely recommend buying it sooner rather than later – and just resisting the temptation to open it until 1 December! I’m absolutely over the moon to own one this year.

Other luxury beauty advent calendars that have already launched include Lookfantastic’s (£105 and worth over £655), Cult Beauty’s (£240 and worth over £1,100) and this one from Selfridges (£250 and worth £1,136).

Shoppers ‘hardly feel like they’re wearing’ these ‘so soft’ best-selling leather loafers

Marks & Spencer shoppers are eagerly scooping up these best-selling leather loafers that are ‘so soft’ that buyers ‘hardly feel like they’re wearing them’

These top-selling shoes, available in two colours, are lauded for their ‘comfy’ feel, with shoppers claiming they hardly notice them on their feet. Marks and Spencer is selling Leather Loafers for £55. They are a hot favourite on the website, with over 100 pairs sold in the past five days.

Dubbed a ‘smart choice for office days,’ these loafers boast a slip-on design with a flat sole and low stacked heels. According to the website, they’re finished off with ‘elegant’ ruching along the front and saddle detailing across the vamp, giving them a ‘classic penny loafer’ look.

At the same price, Schuh stocks these Lillian Leather Penny Loafer in Black (£55) in sizes 3 to 8. For those keeping to a tighter budget, check out these ABSOLUTE FOOTWEAR Women’s Loafer Shoes from Amazon for £27.99. Or, if you don’t mind splashing some cash, Dr Martens has these Temara Arcadia Leather Loafers for £120.

These loafers come with padded insoles and a durable, ridged rubber sole. The heel height for a ladies size 4 shoe is 15mm, and the Marks and Spencer loafers also feature Insolia Flex, ensuring the foot is correctly positioned within the shoes.

Black and white are the only colours available, and sizes range between 4-7, reports Birmingham Live. That said, stocks are running low in some sizes so you’ll need to act fast to secure yours before their gone.

One glowing review said: “So comfortable you hardly feel you are wearing them – the leather is very soft. I have a wide foot and had to go up a half size.”

Another review praised: “Excellent quality loafers with the softest leather. Look very expensive and are very comfy.”

However, a negative review stated: “Dreadful loafers. Narrow. Strange shape.”

But the praise is overwhelming as more love comes from this customer who says: “Perfect every day working shoe. Perfect, soft leather and very comfortable, practical.”

Ed Sheeran quits the UK and admits the major thing he’ll miss about England

The Shape of You singer has announced he’s leaving the UK and moving abroad, but there’s one thing he’ll miss about his home country

Ed Sheeran has quit the UK(Image: GETTY)

It’s official. Ed Sheeran and his family are moving to the United States of America.

Speaking to the 2 Johnnies podcast, Ed, 34, revealed that he’s leaving Suffolk with his wife Cherry Seaborn and their two daughters, Lyra and Jupiter.

The family had been living in a £3.7 million estate, dubbed Sheeranville. Complete with a gym, pool, tree house and even a separate bungalow, it is located in rural Suffolk and where the singer-songwriter has written many of his hits. But the family of four are set to leave for America immanently.

“I’m just about to move to America,” Ed confirmed on the podcast. “I feel like i might be the only person moving to America. I’m going on tour there for a while and I have a family so I can’t dip in and out. We’re going and settling there.”

Said tour follows of the release of his latest album, Play, and there are only two UK dates on the tour, being Coventry on 5 December and Manchester on 7 December. Play will be released on 12 September.

While America has a lot to offer, there is something the chart-topping musician will miss – his beloved Ipswich Town football club. Ed owns a 1.4% stake and was their shirt sponsor recently. “I went to almost every game last season,” he said. “I think I can only make one this season because I’m moving to the States.”

Ed has expressed a desire to relocate to the States before. It’s not clear where in the continent-wide country he is moving to, as he has not explicitly stated the city or state, but he has previously suggested he would like to move to Nashville. On another podcast, Call Her Daddy, he explained: “Nashville is my favourite city in the States and it’s always been my end goal to move to Nashville and transition to country.”

Suffolk has produced many stars, including Oscar-nominated actor Ralph Fiennes and the late EastEnders’ icon June Brown. However, Ed Sheeran has been credited with putting the county on the map, thanks to his vocal love for the place. His song, Castle on a Hill, has been described as a ‘love song’ for the county where Ed and his wife both grew up.

Ed met his wife when they were both children, as he was in the year above her at school. Though they lost touch, they reconnected in 2015 in New York when a mutual friend suggested they meet up. They had a quiet wedding three years later and welcomed their first child in 2020. Their second was born in 2022.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres in between the births of his children, he said: I really didn’t have a purpose outside of [music] because when I was giving myself fixed time of no work, I wasn’t doing anything I enjoyed because I love doing music.

Kate Middleton’s act of defiance as she cleverly ‘outmanoeuvres Prince Harry’

A body language expert has shed light on Princess Kate’s last-minute decision to accompany Prince William during his Sunningdale engagement today, in what she views as the future queen’s attempt to ‘avoid being check-mated’

Princess Kate has today made a subtle yet defiant gesture as the House of Windsor’s feud continues, with a body language expert picking up on the future queen’s role in the “game of royal chess”.

Kate, 43, has today accompanied Prince William during an engagement in Sunningdale to commemorate the life of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away three years ago today (September 9)

The couple’s visit to the National Federation of Women’s Institutes (WI) has, of course, coincided with the bombshell visit of Prince Harry, who is understood to still be virtually estranged from his older brother.

The Duke of Sussex landed on British soil this morning, ahead of the annual WellChild Awards, and headed immediately to St. George’s Chapel to pay respects at his late grandmother’s graveside.

It’s thought Kate’s last-minute appearance with William at today’s event could well be a strategic move on her part, with Judi James noting that the mum of three could be trying to “avoid being check-mated by the rogue royal”.

‘A game of royal chess’ is apparently afoot between Kate, pictured today, and her brother-in-law(Image: AP)

Speaking with the Mirror, Judi explained: “We’ve already seen Harry on a ring doorbell looking like a fan of the impromptu drop-in, and William’s outing to Sunningdale might have left one (future) queen alone and socially vulnerable if a request for afternoon tea was made.

“Kate and Harry used to be so close, and whereas a ‘Sorry I’m up in Sunningdale’ response might be neutral and polite enough, being at home, but turning him down could make Kate risk being made to look like the bad guy when Harry reported back to the US.

“There’s a huge difference between being unavailable and appearing to actively shun someone, and the movements of the royals today suggest they are very mindful of the dangers of the ‘Harry effect’ on their own image and popularity.”

With this in mind, Judi continued: “Harry has many excuses to play the victim here if he so chooses, especially if it is made to look as though his close family members turned their backs on him while he was busy supporting his charities.

“There have already been headlines implying he would be keen for some sort of reunion, and if doors were being literally shut in his face, it could risk making the Firm look cruel and cold in the eyes of the rest of the world if the story was spun that way.

“So who can blame Kate if she preferred to keep out of the way? William’s emotions will clearly be complex as he mourns two people he loved in his life: his grandmother on the anniversary of her death and his brother, who also used to be his closest pal.

“Loyalty to his grandmother might well help to cancel out some of the sadness at the loss of a brother, but I doubt the proximity factor will make little difference apart from some awkwardness, and having Kate at his side, who ‘gets’ the entire tragic narrative, will most likely help.”

Harry’s rare trip to the UK has left many to wonder whether a meeting with his estranged father, King Charles, is in the diary. If so, this would mark the first reunion since February 2024.

Harry has previously expressed his hopes of making peace with King Charles and the royal family at large, and whispers of a potential thawing arose back in early July, when senior aides to both Charles and Harry were spotted at a meeting in London.

A US source has now told the Mirror that there is a strong possibility the pair will reunite, revealing: “It’s clear there is now a determination on both sides to make this happen. Nobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry. For the first time in a long time, there’s a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach.”

They continued: “After 20 months apart, and with the King continuing his treatment, the feeling is that the time is right to take that step. This is not about grand gestures or set-piece meetings – it’s about a simple face-to-face conversation between a father and his son. The priority is privacy and dignity, but also ensuring the door stays open for further dialogue.”

At the time of writing, neither Buckingham Palace nor the Sussex camp has confirmed that such a meeting is scheduled to take place.

Loose Women star Frankie Bridge in tears on train as fans express their concern

Mum-of-two, Frankie Bridge, took to TikTok in tears on the London Underground as she captioned the worrying video: ‘When you start crying on the Tube’

Frankie Bridge has worried fans with her latest TikTok post as she shared a clip of herself in tears on the London Underground. The Loose Women star, 36, has spoken candidly about her mental health, admitting that it is a struggle, which she navigates daily.

In her latest post, the mum-of-two can be seen with tears rolling down her face on the train as she sits, looking downcast with her headphones in.

Telling her followers, she was pretending she was in a music video, she captioned the sad clip: “When you start crying on the Tube…but it’s ok because now you get to pretend you’re in a music video.

She added to the video, which was accompanied by JoJo’s Too Little, Too Late: “Anyone else like to pretend they’re in a music video on the train?”

Responding to her post, Frankie’s followers told her they were worried about her as one asked: “Are you ok?” while another said: “Why are you crying?”

Meanwhile, another sent The Saturdays stars a message of support as they replied: “If I was there I would have give u a hug” as fourth said: “Life is tough. Just remember Frankie you are doing your best and tomorrow is another day.”

And another touchingly wrote: “”I feel so sorry for you at the moment Frankie, every video you’ve put up lately, you can literally see the sadness in your eyes.

“Hope you work through it and get back to yourself, which I know is easier said the done.”

Frankie Bridge
Fans told Frankie they can see the ‘sadness in her eyes’

It comes after Frankie was reportedly caught up in a “secret feud” with Hear’Say star, Myleene Klass.

Sources say tensions have been simmering between the pair since 2013 after a perceived “blanking” incident at the Glamour Awards in 2013, leading the women asking not to work together.

Myleene is allegedly feuding with Frankie and her bandmate Rochelle, 36, who were both clients of the Classic FM star’s bodyguard ex-husband, Graham Quinn. The rift is reported to have spilled over onto TV recently, with ITV reportedly stepping in to help smooth things over.

The trio were once friends as Myleene and Frankie both attended Rochelle’s hen do in 2012.

However, in 2013, Myleene is reported to have felt ‘blanked’ by Frankie and confronted her at the Glamour Women of the Year awards.

After Myleene’s recent podcast appearance, Frankie shared a cryptic TikTok video. She shared a video of herself holding and sipping on a glass of wine and wrote over the top: “You’re so quiet… Thanks, you said something five years ago and I’ve just realised you’re actually dead to me.”

And in the post’s actual caption, she penned: “Takes me a while, but once you’re dead you’re dead.”

There were concerns that there would be fireworks at the National Television Awards next week, which all three women were due to attend.

However, a source told The Sun: “There has been wild speculation lately that the women don’t get on after falling out years ago.

“Fortunately, they will avoid apublic clash as Myleene, who has been a regular at the glitzy event over the years, is swerving it this year as she has work commitments.”
