After Dani Dyer was forced to withdraw due to injury, Strictly Come Dancing was suddenly thrown into disarray on the day of its first live performance.

Dani released a heartfelt statement on social media expressing her shock over the news. And her fellow dancers on the popular BBC show expressed sadness over the news.

Dani, 29, captioned her Instagram post: “I fell on Friday during rehearsals and landed funny. My foot swelled up severely over the weekend, and it turns out I’ve broken my ankle after an MRI yesterday.

“Apparently, it’s not advisable to quickstep on a fracture (!!)” and I was forced to leave the show because the doctors had told me that I couldn’t dance. The biggest understatement is to say I’m heartbroken. Although I’m going to miss Nikita dancing, I’ll definitely be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.

Dani has a lot of passion, joy, and enthusiasm for Strictly, and her partnership with Nikita got off to a sensational start, according to Sarah James, executive producer, BBC Studios.

For the upcoming series, Nikita Kuzmin and Dani were working together. She had shared her excitement with the link-up on Instagram over the weekend. She stated, “I’m so happy to finally announce that Nikita is my partner!

In the upcoming series, it’s still to be seen if Dani and the Ukrainian will work together or if Dani will even be replaced. The BBC will choose a new contestant to take the place of a star who leaves before the series begins. It is unknown whether another celebrity will appear in the last few minutes because Dani pulled out just days before the first live performance.

Since the official show has not yet begun, Dani might be replaced. Kelvin Fletcher replaced Jamie Laing in a previous role, which led to Kelvin Fletcher becoming the BBC’s host.

Perrie Edwards, a former Little Mix star, has opened up about the agony of losing her baby five months into her pregnancy and spoken out about it in public.

Perrie Edwards has said her world “crumbled” when she lost her baby five months into her pregnancy and added that the “worst bit” came a few days later.

The singer is currently preparing for the birth of her second child and opened up about the two losses that overshadowed the birth of her first son Axel. During an appearance on Paul C Brunson’s podcast, Edwards revealed that she suffered a miscarriage before Axel’s birth and lost another baby afterwards, when their heart stopped beating at 22 weeks.

She added in a recent interview that the “traumatic” experience was made worse when she discovered that she was producing milk days later. “It felt like it came out of nowhere,” Edwards said about the miscarriage. “Every scan before had been fine, we just weren’t expecting to go into the 22-week scan and for our world just to crumble.

The experience was extremely traumatizing, then. I recall taking a shower and getting my milk a few days later. I can’t help but feel like I’m out of my room, Mum! She said, “What, what, what? ” and she responded, “What, what? ” I said, “I’ve got milk! ” and I was like, ” “.

She said, “Oh, darling, they said this would happen.” But I didn’t anticipate it. I was devastated. The worst part was that. The baby was gone, but my body was prepared for it.

In the interview, which was with Glamour, Edwards said her fiancé, former footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, was instrumental in helping her navigate the loss, but admitted he needed help as well, even if he couldn’t see it.

She said, “We are very lucky to have each other.” We have such a deep love for one another. He seemed to have no control over me because he was so concerned for me and felt as though there was nothing he could do.

But he simply made it so much better by being there and supporting me throughout the entire process. I kept asking him, “Are you okay?” and he responded, “It’s not about me,” and I’m like, “Yes, it is, though.” A baby was lost by both of us. Both of us experienced it. He behaves very similarly toward emotions, trying to “suck it up” and moving on. But I could tell that he had experienced trauma as a result. He apparently only wanted to be strong for me.

Now, Edwards isn’t just preparing for the birth of her second child, she’s also preparing for the release of her debut solo album, Perrie. The singer is the final member of Little Mix to release solo music. Former band-member Jesy Nelson dropped a single in 2021, while the rest of the band continued to stay together. Little Mix are on a hiatus currently and Leigh-Anne Pinnock released an album in 2024, while Jade Thirlwall’s hotly anticipated debut album, That’s Showbiz Baby!, hit the shelves earlier this month.

BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay has opened up about his wedding day, revealing there’s one element of the special occasion he’ll always regret.

Despite exchanging vows with Strictly Come Dancing co-presenter Tess Daly more than two decades ago, he admitted that one choice the couple made before their big day continues to play on his mind.

He explained to a listener on his daily Radio 2 show this morning (Tuesday, 23 September) that he still feels bad about not having his special day with Tess on film, adding that it is just another expense in addition to the wine, the food, the fish, and all that kid-related costs. We didn’t have a videographer, so we’re now like “aghh,” looking back.

Previously, Vernon had revealed that he and Tess had met each other completely by accident at a BBC Christmas bash.
