Laura Whitmore is no stranger to making a style statement, with her former Love Island looks being among some of her finest. And earlier this week she proved once again why she’s a true ‘fashion icon’ wearing a power suit perfect for autumn styling.

Appearing on Loose Women to discuss her new true crime series, Laura Whitmore on Britain’s Killer Teens, the presenter turned heads in a striking corduroy co-ord set. The trio of wardrobe staples were from retro-inspired label Joanie, with fans going wild for the look.

Laura’s followers were quick to share their love for her look on social media, with comments flooding in: “Always been a fashion icon, you look great,” “Looking phenomenal here,” and “You look sensational.”

The tailored three-piece – made up of the Annie Waistcoat (£49), Richmond Flared Trousers (£69) and Jarvis Double Breasted Blazer (£99) – were all crafted from organic cotton corduroy with a touch of stretch making it as comfortable as it is chic. Corduroy is always bang on trend for the autumn season, making it a great time to invest in some key pieces to wear through the cooler months.

The blue hue of the set was striking and paired beautifully with the 40-year-old’s blonde locks. But for those seeking something a little different, it also comes in green, rust and pink shades, if blue doesn’t take your fancy.

The suit’s retro black buttons and flared silhouette nod to classic ’70s tailoring, while the versatile pieces can be styled separately. The waistcoat could be paired with washed denim for a night out, the trousers with a chunky knit, or the blazer over a simple slip dress. But worn together as Laura did, it’s the definition of power dressing.

Elsewhere, Boden has this Stamford Cord Blazer for £129. It comes in five colours, from deep purple to ginger and burgundy, with matching trousers available for a complete set.

For a slightly more affordable and less vibrant option, Next offers this Navy Cord Single Breasted Blazer for £58, while the matching tailored trousers are £36. The Joanie suit isn’t the only power-suit we’ve seen Laura wear in recent times, though.

Rylan Clark speaks out on ‘row’ with Rob Rinder during filming after romance speculation

Rylan Clark offered an insight into the realities of filming his latest BBC series with Rob Rinder, and set the record straight about romance rumours

Rylan Clark had ‘a row’ with his co-star Rob Rinder during filming

Rylan Clark has revealed he clashed with his co-star Rob Rinder during filming for the latest series of their BAFTA-winning programme. In their fresh travel documentary, the duo delve into India’s vibrant culture, heritage, and diversity, meeting various people who represent contemporary life there.

Reflecting on the highs and lows of filming, Rylan, 36, confessed his co-star became “so p****d off” with him.

He revealed: “When I got off the plane, I got bitten on the face by a mosquito and had a golf ball on the f*****g cheek.

“It was not a great start. After four hours’ sleep, I was chucked into a tuk-tuk in the middle of, I can only describe it as a Wacky Races replay.”

The presenter added to Heat Magazine: “It was a lot. When I say I dove into India head first, I dove into India head first.”

After Rob confirmed that the situation was “real”, Rylan continued: “He got so p****d off with me. This isn’t normal for me! I could have lost an arm, it was crazy.”

Looking back on the incident, Rob admitted he ran “out of patience” and jokingly compared himself to a “benevolent headmistress of a school”.

Despite their disagreement however, Rylan insisted they remain the “best of friends”.

During the same interview, he tackled the persistent rumours about the pair being romantically linked.

Addressing the speculation, they mentioned reports about them being “engaged”, and also referenced seeing fake wedding photos of themselves.

“I love him too much to marry him,” Rylan admitted.

Rylan’s latest interview comes after he confirmed that he is in a new relationship – his first since splitting from Dan Neal in 2021.

During an appearance on his How To Be In Love podcast last month, he said he’d been quietly dating someone for several months, and opened up about their shared hopes of having children.

Rylan’s new partner has since been identified as Kennedy Bates, a fairground entrepreneur.

The duo have reportedly been “inseparable” during the summer months, and have introduced each other to their relatives.

Most recently, the pair were photographed together at Radio 2 In The Park last weekend, where Rylan performed multiple DJ sets.

Pictures captured the couple relaxing together in the VIP section, with Rylan’s mum Linda also in attendance.

A witness told The Sun: “Rylan and his new man looked seriously in love, they were having a great time together in the VIP.

“They were laughing and joking, and there was lots of PDA. At one point Rylan playfully smacked Kennedy on the bum when he headed off while his boyfriend stood in the queue for food.

“Kennedy was also chatting to Rylan’s mum Linda, he’s clearly been accepted by the family.”

Three time Oscar winner and Harry Potter production designer Stuart Craig has died aged 83 as stars from the iconic film franchise have paid tribute

Harry Potter legend Stuart Craig has died aged 83, the British Film Designers Guild has confirmed. The iconic film series’ production designer is credited with bringing the children’s books to life.

He died at home on Sunday after 14 years with Parkinson’s disease. “Our beloved husband and father, deeply loved and respected, was not only known for his talent but also for his kindness and we are moved by hearing of how many lives he touched.

“He will live on in our hearts forever,” Craig’s family told the Guardian. He is best known for designing the look at all eight Harry Potter films. Craig won three Oscars throughout his career and was nominated for eight more of the prestigious awards.

He had also worked on The English Patient, Gandhi, The Mission, The Elephant Man, and Dangerous Liasons. The designer won best art direction Oscars for Gandhi, Dangerous Liaisons and The English Patient. Throughout his career, Craig was given an impressive 16 nominations and three wins at the BAFTAs.

Tributes from across the film industry have poured in following the sad news as Harry Potter producer David Heyman said: “Stuart Craig was one of the greatest production designers to work in film.

“He was also the kindest, most generous and supportive man. He had exquisite taste and a wonderful sense of story. He also had the extraordinary ability to bring out the very best in everyone around him.

“It was a privilege to work with him, and to be in his orbit.” Director David Yates, who worked on the final four Harry Potter films, added: “Stuart was a dear friend and colleague: he was a giant in our industry, graceful, talented, stubborn and always nurturing and supporting emerging design talent.

“We will all miss him a great deal.” David Puttnam, who worked on The Mission, Cal and Memphis Belle, wrote: “Not only was Stuart the most inventively gifted production designer of his generation, but as a man and a departmental head he certainly ranks among the most exemplary collaborators I ever had the privilege of working with.

“Stuart generated the most incredible sense of loyalty among his team, something which sprung naturally from a debt he felt he owed to those with whom he’d worked, and who had helped him, early in his career.

“Losing Stuart is a very sad day for the whole of the British film industry – he and his influence will be massively missed.”

A fan commented: “Stuart Craig was the person who brought Harry Potter locations to life: Hogwarts castle (both inside and out), the Ministry of Magic, Diagon Alley, and much more.

“Wands up for an absolute legend, RIP.” Craig never picked up an Oscar for his work on Harry Potter, but is remembered for designing the now iconic sets.

He worked alongside frequent collaborator and set decorator, the late Stephenie McMillan, on all the Harry Potter films as well as spin off Fantastic Beasts. Craig is remembered by his wife Patricia Stangroom and their two children.

Myleene Klass breaks down in tears as her eldest daughter Ava, 18, moves out

Myleene Klass told fans her ‘heart was about to run to the door’ after revealing that her eldest daughter, Ava, who she shares with ex-husband, Graham Quinn, was leaving home

Hear’Say star, Myleene Klass, sobs uncontrollably in her latest post on Instagram after revealing that her eldest daughter is moving out. The mum-of-three, 47, who shares Ava, 18, with her ex-husband, Graham Quinn, holds her head in her hands in the emotional video as she admits she ‘doesn’t know how she’s going to cope’.

Sporting a grey Sketchers hoodie, sitting in her car after an appointment at the opticians, Myleene explains her tear-stained face is a mixture of sadness – as well as trying on contact lenses for the first time.

Opening up about her heartache, she said: “So this is a combination of trying on contact lenses for the first time, just come from the opticians and crying in the opticians because he asked me how many children I have and their ages. I then just burst into tears and said ‘well three, but my 18-year-old is going to university in a few days’. I literally just cried all over him, which wasn’t ideal when he was fitting contact lenses.”

Myleene shares daughters Ava and Hero, 14, with ex-husband Graham and three-year-old son Apollo with fiancé Simon Motson.

Appealing to mums who have older children, she asked: “Mums, how do you do this? How do you say goodbye to your first love? Is this what I’m going to do for three years?

“I literally want this for her, but I don’t want it for me. My baby, she hasn’t even gone yet. Oh my god, how am I going to drive her there and drive home like this.”

“I’m just going to have to pull over and cry in the services.”

Sighing deeply, Myleene said she was being “ridiculous”, before adding: “But my heart is about to run to the door.” She concluded: “PS I promise I’m fine but doing the room lists, the shop for one and having them let you hug them loads, suddenly, you’ll know how bitter sweet this is.”

It comes as the Classic FM star was forced to defend Ava after some on social media branded her a ‘nepo baby’. The talented pianist got top marks at school this summer and won a coveted spot at the Royal Academy of Music.

However, after some suggested the teen had only got in because of her mum’s connections, Myleene told MailOnline: “She (Ava) has done the piano for eight hours a day, she went to the Royal Academy of Music, she had to audition, they didn’t just say ‘Myleene Klass’ daughter is showing up, give her a place’, she had to audition, and that’s the point.

“You could call my children nepo babies all day long, but they can play Rachmaninoff concertos like the best of them.

“To what end are you going to decide that that’s a nepo baby when they have worked and been on the grind for their own money and their own talent?”

Daylight lamp worth £50 that makes ‘waking up so much easier’ plummets to £36 in rare sale

As we head deeper into autumn, shoppers who struggle to wake on dark mornings won’t want to snooze on this deal that’s slashed a ‘game changing’ daylight lamp to its cheapest available price

Daylight lamp worth £50 that makes ‘waking up so much easier’ plummets to £36(Image: Amazon)

It’s that time of year again when we’ll soon gain an extra hour in bed but have to say goodbye to the lighter evenings as winter approaches. However, there’s been some debate about whether this tradition should be ditched, with the British Sleep Society suggesting that natural morning light is beneficial for sleep, while changing the clocks can be harmful. This advice comes just as we’re about to put our clocks back, marking the end of British Summer Time (BST), or Daylight Saving Time.

Given the discussions around the benefits of waking up to natural light, shoppers might want to check out this Amazon find, which could revolutionise your wake-up routine during the dark and gloomy winter months – and it’s currently on sale.

Lumie Sunrise Alarm White
This Lumie Sunrise Alarm White would normally cost £49.99 but is now £36.17(Image: Amazon)

This daylight lamp from Amazon has been dubbed a “game-changer” purchase by customers who’ve noticed a difference since using this alarm to wake up on dark mornings.

The device replicates the colours of a real sunrise and sunset using LED lights, offering adjustable bedroom lighting so you can relax at night and wake up properly in the morning. Known to help treat seasonal affective disorder, this lamp aims to help you fall asleep and wake up feeling fully refreshed and alert.

And right now, you can snap up this lamp for a cool 28% off in the sale, bringing the price down to £36.17, making Amazon the cheapest place to buy your own.

With the UK soon to return to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), as the clocks go back, a group of experts have spotlighted the advantages of this standard time. Prof von Schantz noted that GMT “aligns closely with the natural light-dark cycles of the day and night” and stressed that “natural daylight in the morning is crucial for maintaining an optimal alignment of our body clocks with day and night, which is essential for optimal sleep and overall health.”

Dr Crawford noted: “Mornings are the time when our body clocks have the greatest need for light to stay in sync,” she explained. “At our latitudes, there is simply no spare daylight to save during the winter months, and given the choice between natural light in the morning and natural light in the afternoon, the scientific evidence favours light in the morning.”

Available for £49 at Boots, John Lewis and Dunelm, Amazon is currently the cheapest place to pick up one of these Lumie Sunrise Lamps ahead of the winter mornings.

Shoppers who have picked up their own can’t stop singing its praises, as one buyer beams: “This is the BEST thing I have ever bought from Amazon. Having always been interested in buying a SAD lamp, I have been searching around for the best and most cost-effective, and this is it. I love this lamp so much. The features are exactly what I needed it for and it has improved my sleep and morning routine so much! A must buy, especially for those who struggle to wake up in the morning when it’s dark.”

Further accolades come from this customer, who says: “I’ve been using the Lumie Sunrise Alarm for nearly two weeks now, and it has certainly made a difference in my morning routine. Waking up in the morning has always been a struggle for me, and this alarm clock has helped to ease that struggle. However, my experience with this product has been mixed. The most significant advantage of the Lumie Sunrise Alarm is its ability to mimic a natural sunrise, gently waking me up with gradually increasing light intensity. This feature has been a game-changer for my mornings, making it much easier to get out of bed.”

This shopper does go on to note some disappointment, writing: “On the downside, the Lumie Sunrise Alarm has a few issues. Firstly, the build quality of the device leaves much to be desired. It does look and feel somewhat cheap, which is disappointing given its price point. Setting up the alarm can be a bit of a hassle, as it’s not as user-friendly as I would have liked. The user manual could use more detailed instructions to simplify the setup process. Additionally, I found the red light in the clock to be quite annoying when using the alarm as a bedside table clock during the night. It’s not adjustable in intensity, and it disrupted my sleep more than I anticipated.”
