Pregnant Coronation Street star Melissa Johns hits back at trolls as she shares biggest fear

Melissa Johns, an actress from Coronation Street and Grantchester, is getting ready to have her first child, but she says cruel trolls won’t stop her from feeling empowered by her appearance.

Melissa Johns couldn’t be more excited to welcome her baby girl with husband Dan. The Coronation Street and Grantchester star is gearing up for the arrival of her first child – but being pregnant has changed her life in more ways than one.

The actress – who is best known to TV fans for playing Miss Scott in the ITV period drama – says being pregnant has made her feel empowered after growing up being told her body was “limited” after she was born without a right forearm or hand.

Melissa has documented her pregnancy in the way most parents do, with a gorgeous bump photoshoot. But for Melissa, these images represent more than just her own journey.

“It gives me such a powerful feeling. People have commented on, judged, and put their own limitations on it, she exclusively says, “I’ve spent a lot of my life with people telling me that my body is limited” and I’ve grown up not seeing people with body differences in bump photo shoots. I feel limitless when I grow and carry a baby. It’s wonderful to experience growing up feeling like I could never grow up and feel free to grow up.

Melissa wants to change the narrative because she was raised being told that finding love and having children was impossible for her and that she “just needed to love herself.”

“I didn’t learn to hate myself from the beginning – it’s the world we live in. It’s a really tricky one to navigate. Me hating and loathing the body I have growing up, that wasn’t a product of me and how I felt about my body,” she says.

“It was the result of what I was told I should feel about my body,” she said. People commenting on my body now that I’m pregnant haven’t come as a shock to me because even when I was young, I was taught I was special and brave.

She continues, “I’ve grown up with it.” Although it’s strange when it’s not about my limb difference, it’s about my baby bump. That seems much more commonplace. It demonstrates how obsessed we are with our bodies, whether good or bad. We are obsessed with how we look, as a country, and having the bump has helped with that. It’s really nice to have something new to discuss.

Most mothers are questioned and probed about how to handle the arrival of their child. Melissa has had to deal with even more of these unsolicited questions because of her limb difference.

“Sometimes, people will ask, “How will you manage?” What will the baby’s mother expect? How will you hold the baby simultaneously for a coffee with your friends? People do ask those questions, she says, and I’m making an effort to figure it out as well. It’s unfortunate that people are so intrigued by it because they don’t see it very much.

Melissa has been open about her fears for both herself and her daughter despite all the excitement surrounding the birth of the child.

I’ll be surrounded by a lot of kids when my little girl is a little older. Even at my age, I still have a lot of questions that every child asks. Children who ask lots of questions have always made me feel so afraid and intimidated. If I hear what other people think of my body, will my young girl think she needs to stand up for me? Does she think she needs to defend my side? Will she care to tell me something? Will she worry that she “hears things from people”? she informed us.

It won’t be long before Melissa is gracing our screens once more, but what does the birth of her baby mean for her acting career has made her question.

“As actors get more anxious when they are pregnant, we rarely see them working.” Our careers worry us. Being a disabled actor, I had to work extra hard to show the industry that I can play any character, and it doesn’t have to be about disability. I’ve been worried about how having a baby will affect my career. What does it mean that I’m expecting a baby now that I’ve overcome those barriers?

Melissa is also biding her last farewells to a significant chapter of her life as she prepares to welcome her child. The actress has spent six years filming her final scenes as the ITV drama is about to come to an end.

“I’ve been filming for five months to nine months,” I said. The cast has been amazing, and they’ve all given me small presents for the baby, she says.

“I recently started watching that program. It saw me through Covid, it saw me through my ex-partner’s eight-year separation, and it saw me through the slumber of my house and the slumber of my friends in hotels. Dan and I met, got engaged, and we bought our first home. We were married during the final season, and we were planning to give birth the week before the baby was due. Many people are unable to live that way. How fortunate was Grantchester to me throughout all those ups and downs.

It’s obvious that Miss Scott will be accompanying Melissa as she welcomes her young daughter with husband Dan, despite the season’s end.

Dani Dyer speaks out about failed romance with ex Sammy Kimmence in ‘guilty’ admission

The Love Island winner, who claimed she “loved the wrong people” but “does not regret anything,” opened up about her failed relationships with Sammy Kimmence and Jack Fincham.

Dani Dyer has opened up about her failed relationships with Sammy Kimmence and fellow Love Island winner Jack Fincham, admitting she “loved the wrong people”. The 29 year old first started to make a name for herself when she went on the hit ITV dating show Love Island in 2018, and went on to win the show with her then-boyfriend Jack.

Dani and Jack broke up shortly after winning Love Island, and they later dated Sammy, who they also had dated before joining the cast. She and Sammy had a son named Santiago, who was born in 2021.

However, she and Sammy split in July of that year after he was given a three-year prison sentence for plotting a £34k scam. Dani, who she chatted with on Jamie Laing’s podcast, acknowledged that she had no regrets about her past relationships and that she had “loved the wrong person.”

She said she “shouldn’t have gone back there” when talking about her time with Sammy. He never wanted to settle down with me, she said, because he was a major player and I shouldn’t have taken him back. “I have no regrets about having Santi, so I’m so happy I had him.”

She continued, “very civil,” for the good of their son because they never wanted him to feel “uncomfortable” as a result.

Dani now has two other children – twins Summer and Star – with her husband Jarrod Bowen. She said she sometimes feels “guilty” that her son has broken up parents.

“He is never going to know that his mother and father are together, and I always feel bad because Jarrod’s twins say “Daddy, daddy,” but Santi doesn’t.

Dani also acknowledged that she had never visited Sammy while he was incarcerated and that she had always felt foolish because she had never inquired what he was doing. “I just loved the wrong person, and I didn’t want to say anything to make Santi think,” I said. “I stayed silent.”

Reflecting on her relationship with Jack, she said that “genuinely thought [she’d] met the one” but that they wanted different things. She wanted to stay home and cook, whilst Jack wanted to go out. “We just weren’t compatible on the outside world.”

Jacob Elordi ‘splits from girlfriend again’ just weeks after rekindling romance

The relationship between the Frankenstein actor and his girlfriend has been ongoing for four years, but it is said that the romance is “completely over.”

Jacob Elordi and his girlfriend, Olivia Jade Giannulli, are said to have split up only weeks after getting back together. The couple have had an on-and-off again relationship for four years, but that is reportedly “fully over” now.

The Frankenstein star was first linked to Olivia Jade in 2021, but the relationship has stopped and started multiple times. The last break-up was reported to be in August of this year.

Rumors had started that Olivia Jade and Jacob had reconciled because a source told the press that they were “seeing each other again” in September. However, it is reported that they broke up once more, this time for good, just a few weeks later.

Olivia Jade’s family has spoken to People, “It’s completely over.” They aren’t reunited, they say. She’s okay about Jacob’s split, but she’s more upset about what’s happening to her father.

Olivia Jade, who is a YouTuber, is the daughter of fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli and Full House actress Lori Loughlin. After 28 years of marriage, they have split up. Lori’s representative told People that the couple are living separately but “there are no legal proceedings at this time”.

After admitting to paying $500, 000 in bribes to charity to get their daughters a spot at the University of Southern California, Lori and Mossimo were both sentenced to prison time five years apart. While her husband received a five-month sentence and a $250, 000 fine, Lori was given a two-month sentence and was required to pay a fine of $150, 000.

Jacob and Olivia were first romantically linked in December of that year, and they were reportedly dating by May 2022. However, according to reports that they split in August of that year, Jacob reportedly had been “completely focused” on his career, according to an insider.

Despite this, they were seen together on numerous other occasions, including during a trip to Idaho in July 2023. They were rumored to have broken up once more in January 2024, but they had reunited in October.

Olivia Jade and Jacob decided to move from the United States to Paris in April, according to the latest split rumors. They were initially believed to have split up in August, but they later rekindled their relationship in September and are now splitting up. Olivia Jade and Glen Powell have also been romantically linked during this time.

Jacob has also had a busy career. He is currently ecstatic about the upcoming release of his new film, Frankenstein, in which he plays the monster. Oscar Isaac plays the gothic doctor, and it was directed by Guillermo Del Toro.

In February, he will continue the gothic theme, which is when Emerald Fennel’s film Wuthering Heights will be released. In contrast to Cathy, Margot Robbie and Jacob play Heathcliff. On Saltburn, Jacob and Emerald previously collaborated.

Sound of Guns singer Andrew Metcalfe dead as bandmates pay heartbreaking tribute

The Liverpool alternative rock group Sound of Guns’ lead singer Andrew Metcalfe passed away, his bandmates’ heartbreaking announcement.

The music world is mourning the loss of Andrew Metcalfe, the lead singer of Liverpool’s alternative rock band Sound of Guns. The band, which was formed in 2008, saw Metcalfe perform alongside Lee Glynn, Nathan Crowley, John Coley and Simon Finley.

They gained a strong following in the late 2000s due to their electrifying live performances and anthemic sound, before they announced an indefinite break in 2013. In a touching statement posted on the band’s official Facebook page, the members confirmed the sad news of Metcalfe’s passing.

We are heartbroken as of right now, it read. We’re sad to announce that Andrew Metcalfe, our friend, brother, and Sound of Guns frontman, has sadly passed away.

At this heartbreaking moment, his family receives our love and thoughts. You are our love.

One of the best frontmen to grace a stage ever was Andy, according to legend. His voice was unique, his songwriting was incredible, and his presence was unmatched.

A genuine artist, performer, lyricist, and genuinely lovely man. We find comfort in the fact that his songs and lyrics have touched so many of you and that the books he has written are simply beautiful to read. So I say thanks. We adore them, as does his family, and we adore them.

We are appreciative of the brief time we had with him and the incredible things we did together,” they continued. We encountered incredible people, played incredible stages, and witnessed incredible things.

We created incredible music that affected millions of people and changed our lives. What Andy meant to us is difficult to explain. We can never fully express what Andy meant to us, to you, and to his family, as Andy once said, “Still the words don’t say what you want to say.”

Please leave his family with your photos and memories in the comments section below. Brother, keep in peace. Your voice and music will always be present. Love from Paul, our manager, and Simon, Nathan, Coley, Lee, and Coley.

Fans sharing their favorite band’s memories have poured in since the singer’s passing. This is a very sad man, one person said. One of the best and wildest gigs I’ve ever been to was when Andy was diving into the audience at the 02 in Liverpool about 12 to 13 years ago.

“Can’t take this news in. Your music will stay with you forever, Andy, RIP.

Another chimed in, “I had the pleasure of meeting Andy a few times during the Sound of Guns tours (Cambridge and Peterborough),” and that “this is deeply upsetting.”

A third song, “A born rockstar with the biggest heart, but most of all a true friend,” was written. What came from fire and the many memories it provided me with helped me through probably the most difficult time in my life. Love and Peace.

“I’m truly gutted,” a fourth person said. Andy was a showman, and he had the audience’s attention with his charisma and energy. I had one of the best nights ever seeing you two, and I’ll never forget the after-show beers from the last time I saw you at the Hare and Hounds.

The song “Still The Words” was the first I’ve ever heard, and it will stick in my heart even more now. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and Andy’s family.

In their active years, Sound of Guns received rave reviews, performed at major festivals, and recorded two albums, What Came From Fire (2010) and Angels and Enemies (2012).

The Fonz star Henry Winkler’s regret after missing out on leading role to John Travolta

Even though he is 80, Happy Days’ actor Henry Winkler isn’t yet retired yet. He discusses his hearth-robbing days and the upcoming TV show coming up next month in the Mirror.

He was playing a teenager but by the time he had finished starring as The Fonz in Happy Days, Henry Winkler was 37. Joking as if he were a zoo specimen, Henry, 80 today, says: “I was the oldest teenager in captivity!”

The Fonz-like swagger that made teenage hearts flutter in the US sitcom – which ran from 1974 to 1984 – is still present as he presents a quirky new Sky History show.

In Perilous Play, the first of eight episodes of Hazardous History starting on November 17, he examines shocking everyday activities and products that were once considered normal.

Winkler asks, “Did you know that a science kit was once used by children to play with radioactive material?” Do you recall playgrounds before safety standards? or when a blow torch was included with the newest toy?

We’ll never see these things again because we used to do them for fun, money, or perhaps out of boredom. They were they a threat, right? Yes . Deadly ? Occasionally . But boy, did it not excite you?

The 60-foot enclosed waterslide in New Jersey with a 360-degree loop that would spit injured children out was one of the now-banned pastimes. Many children were trapped in a vehicle and needed to be rescued, while others suffered injuries like broken teeth. After a month, The Loop shut down.

A 1950s Atomic Energy Kit with uranium ore enabled kids to create their own miniature mushroom cloud. Production stopped after a year because it was still dangerous for children and cost the same as £450 today.

When using the first rollercoaster in America, which turned upside down, things were much worse in the 1880s. In 1880, Coney Island’s first-ever Flip Flap Railway station was built. It had to travel 45 mph for the entire loop to pass. When they went loop de loop, it didn’t quite make it, Whinkler claims. No safety bars or harnesses were present. People jumped out of the vehicles. You only once rode it!

Although Winkler believes children today are much safer, they may not be having as much fun. He says: “The younger generation, in my estimation, is missing out on using a lot of their imagination, on flexing those muscles. Everything is done for them now and you can Google yourself into oblivion these days.”

Winkler is a definite no-favor of AI, despite the fact that he is a major fan of the increasingly technology-dependent era. He asserts that “AI may be great in some medical discoveries, but eventually it will turn against the human being.” A Space Odyssey movie star asks the computer, “hey, would you open the door?” He replies, “I don’t believe so, Dave.” That’s how I see AI.

When asked if there was anything genuinely unsettling he had discovered while making Hazardous History, Winkler laughs. He claims that because a citrus soda was laced with lithium, it had the tagline “we will take the edge off” in 1927.

Despite a sizable body of acting in series like Law &amp, Order Special Victims Unit, and numerous other movies, Winkler’s most notable role was unquestionably that of Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli, who had the catchy phrase “ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! He replies, “I auditioned for The Fonz twice. My unibrow was removed, which I recall was very painful. They wanted a large Italian and a small Jew.

He became a household name after only a few lines in the first episode, making producers even offer to rename the series Happy Days With The Fonz or give him a new name. However, Winkler was content with the situation at hand.

In Grease, he turned down the role of Danny Zuko, which John Travolta had given him during his Happy Days run. He says, “I don’t know if turning down Grease was a wise decision because John Travolta bought a plane and I went home and had a 7UP.”

However, wonderful things did occur. In a Beverly Hills clothing store where Stacey Weitzman was the publicist, he met her. He calls her “a beautiful woman.” In 1978, they wed. He and his stepsons, Max and Zoe, both in their 40s, and seven grandchildren, Jed, from Stacey’s previous marriage, and their son, Max. Winkler struggled to leave typecasting and became a producer after earning the role of the recognizable Fonzie.

He claims that the 1990s were a lull in his career. However, with the release of Waterboy and Adam Sandler in 1998, he and Sandler established a successful partnership and friendship that they shared. He jokes, “Adam is now my relative.”

And he reprised his role in Barry Zuckerkorn, a competent attorney, in Ron Howard’s production of Happy Days in 2003. My Emmy Award went to Barry, and I took home. That is something that is constantly being discussed. It’s “Barry, Barry!” everywhere I go. “he says.

He was involved in helping finance Ron’s 1982 Golden Globe-nominated role in the Hollywood classic Night Shift, which he played Chuck. Winkler, the godfather of his pal’s four children, declares Ron and I to this day as very close friends. I had happy times and beautiful lifelong friendships thanks to Happy Days.

He continues to say, “He presented me with this idea of a show that’s not a cop show. ” All I can say is that! He does show some signs of age, even though his career is not slowed down. My knees are very clear about what it means to walk downstairs, Winkler says.

He has mentioned having to deal with dyslexia, a condition that lasts forever. You don’t lose it, but you learn to negotiate it, he says. Every young person has a lot of power, and you need to use it to achieve your goals. I was eight years old when I was growing up in New York, and I still have that dream. Never consider myself to be 80. I simply believe that I am having the best of times.
