The auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, testified during the coroner’s inquest into the death of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, who was formally known as Mohbad.
Ogedengbe told Magistrate Taofikat Adedayo Shotobi that she had her nursing training at Cornerstone Hospital, Akute, Ogun State between 2014-2017, after which worked with the hospital for a year before relocating from the area.
She claimed that Ayobami Sodiq, one of her clients, contacted her on September 11, 2023, to schedule an appointment to give her a Tetanus injection.

Ogedengbe claimed that due to heavy traffic, she could not attend the appointment, but on the following day, September 12 at around 2.30pm, she made the appointment at Orchid Estate in the Lekki neighborhood.
The nurse also claimed that she had never met the patient until she discovered that it was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba’s (Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba’s) residence.
According to her, she met Mohbad in a room in the house as well as the other people – , the singer’s wife and his friend, Ayobami.
She claimed that Mohbad’s right hand was swollen, and she administered an intramuscular tetanus injection to his upper arm.

Ogedengbe added that she asked Mohbad if he had an ulcer, and that she instead chose to give him a paracetamol injection instead.
“I gave Mohbad 4ml of paracetamol and Iml of water, a total of 5ml which is the normal dosage for adults, and I gave him intravenous (through the vein). She said, “I slowly dilated the 10ml of ceftriaxone.”
He was uncomfortably uncomfortable because his arm was swollen, so I explained to Mohbad and his wife that the paracetamol and ceftriaxone injections were meant to treat a bacterial infection.
” While taking the ceftriaxone injection – he had taken up to 2ml – Mohbad said he wanted to vomit. Although I was taken aback by this statement, he ended up in the bathroom and returned to the room where he was lying on the floor because of how he was feeling.
I spotted goosebumps all over Mohbad’s body after he returned from the restroom, where he had previously vomited and sat on the floor. I was surprised and showed his wife the goosebumps, and she said it was his normal reaction to injections and that if we poured water on him, he would be fine.
The wife then took him to the bathroom and began pouring water on his head. At this point, she e-mailed Ayobami (DJ) to tell them to look up the pharmacy closest to her.
We had to travel to the closest pharmacy where I wanted to get hydrocortisone and saline infusion to treat the goosebumps’ allergic reaction and help Mohbad with dehydration because there was no vehicle on the premises to transport her and Ayobami to the nearest pharmacy.
She admitted that when they got to the nearest pharmacy, they couldn’t get a hydrocortisone injection and Normal Saline infusion and this made her and Ayobami run again into the estate to look for another pharmacy since the first one didn’t have the medication she needed.
By the time we reached the second pharmacy, we had received both a Normal Saline injection and a Hydrocortisone injection, which was about 3 o’clock. When Mohbad said he was convulsing, I told the person he should tell them and that arrangements should be made to transport him to the hospital, according to the nurse, who was receiving calls from Ayobami (DJ).
“That by the time I and Ayobami got back to Mohbad’s house, Mohbad had already been carried outside of his house, as a result, the hydrocortisone injection and Normal Saline infusion could not be administered.
Because everyone in the house was already outside, I was unable to enter Mohbad’s home at this time because the goal was to transport him as quickly as possible.
“Mohbad did not convulse in my presence, and he did not convulse when I returned to the house.” There was still no vehicle to convey us to the hospital so it was Mohbads ‘ neighbor that offered to assist us to the hospital”.
She claimed that while Adura (Mohbad’s) wife was in the front passenger’s seat while she was driving to the hospital in the neighbor’s vehicle, she and Mohbad’s wife were there.
In the back seat were Mohbad, Ayobami, and brother.
“There was terrible and heavy traffic on the road that day, and due to this, Mohbad had to be put on a motorbike to get him to the hospital. Due to the heavy traffic, I had to exit the neighbor’s vehicle and began running after Mohbad’s motorcycle. She narrated the first hospital in about 20 minutes.
“When we eventually got to the first hospital, the medical personnel on the ground initially didn’t want to attend to him and it almost caused chaos, but they later attempted CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on him in the hospital. The doctor declared Mohbad brought in dead after the CPR. I was shocked and perplexed.
” The doctor on call at the first hospital called me aside and asked me what medications I administered to Mohbad. I explained the medication I gave Mohbad, as well as the dosage that was given to the doctor.
Spending was on his way to the first hospital, and Darosha then met us there. When Darosha came and heard that Mohbad was dead, he didn’t believe it and insisted on taking Mohbad to another hospital.
There was not enough room for me to follow Darosha’s car, but I do recall that his wife followed him. While Ayobami was requesting a call from someone in Darosha’s vehicle to find them, we both joined him in spending in the Uber he brought with him.
“We eventually got to know that Darosha had taken Mohbad to another hospital at Osapa London In Lekki. Due to the intense traffic, it took about 20 minutes to get to the second hospital. Ordinarily, we wouldn’t have needed more than ten minutes.
” By the time we got to the second hospital, it was almost 6 pm and we met Darosha and some people that followed him. Mohbad was not inside.
the hospital because Darosha’s management refused to let the hospital in, despite the fact that the medical team on the ground had Mohbad checked for a pulse but there was none.
“The doctor on call at the second hospital invited me into the hospital and told me to sit down at the reception. The doctor then inquired about what had happened while other people were waiting outside the hospital, and I explained everything the same way to her as I did at the first hospital.
She requested to speak with two family members after speaking with the doctor at the second hospital. So it was Darosha and Spending that she spoke with.
Before I left the second hospital, we spent an hour at the hospital, where we were treated for the second. It was already nighttime at this time, around 7 o’clock. Mohbad’s body was brought back to the house at about 8 pm. Everyone was outside the house at this time, and there were many people inside. The lawyer from Mohbad arrived at our house to meet us.
” At about 9 pm, I, Ayobami, my cousin (who is a lawyer), and Mohbad’s lawyer all in a quest to get a death certificate for Mohbad, visited the police station at Orchid Lekki and the first hospital Mohbad was carried to.
I explained everything to the police officer who attended our meeting when I arrived at the Orchid Lekki police station. After explaining everything to the police officer who arrived with us, the officer asked Mohbads’ attorneys and Ayobami if they wanted to investigate the situation or file a complaint against me. They responded that they were not sure yet.
If we needed a police report, the police officer then directed us to the Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah. I’m confident that Mohbad’s attorney will provide a thorough analysis of the Mohbad’s effort to obtain the police report and death certificate.
After her testimony, she was cross-examined by counsel for Mohbad’s family, Wahab Shittu (SAN), counsel to Mohbad’s wife, Kabir Akingbolu, and counsel for the state government.
The hearing will take place on March 21, 2025.
In connection with Mohbad’s passing, another Magistrate Court sitting in Sabo, Yaba, in Lagos, on February 25, 2025, freed Abdulazeez Fashola, a popularly known musician known as Naira Marley, and music promoter Samson Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry.
Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, who read and implemented the legal advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) Lagos, said that they have no case to answer.
Additionally, Opere Babatunde, the court’s former manager, and Owodunni Ibrahim, who was known as Primeboy, were freed.
