On Brookside, The Grants were a devoted family.

Brookside legend Ricky Tomlinson has returned to the Channel 4 soap as Bobby Grant for the first time in 37 years alongside Sue Johnston as Sheila Grant.

Ricky, 85, along with camera crews, has descended on the famous cul-de-sac as part of a one-off special episode to mark Hollyoaks’ 30th anniversary.

The Grant family launched Brookside, which began on the first night of Channel 4 in 1982. Audiences quickly warmed to the married couple as they settled into their first-owned home with their three children.

Ricky and Sue, who later worked together in BBC sitcom The Royle Family, will reprise their roles as Liverpudlian matriarch Sheila Grant, later Corkhill, and trade unionist Bobby Grant following his departure in 1988.

In case your child needs a clean top, you can always have a second pair of pure cotton school jumpers in your possession.

These sweaters are made using Marks & Spencer’s pure cotton. These jumpers promise extra comfort as well as the retailer’s StayNEW technology, which reduces bobbling and colour loss, meaning the clothes stay looking new and bright for as long as possible.

Safe to machine wash, use in the tumble dryer, and iron-friendly, these are a must-have for any kids going back to school this September. The 2-pack comes with a budget-friendly price tag of £11.

Parents can’t stop gushing these jumpers’ praises, with over 700 5-star reviews. One customer exclaims, “Nice school attire. Excellent fit, excellent quality, and would suggest.

This customer adorns these soft, supple jumpers, saying, “Great jumpers that are soft, hold their shape, and color. These are true to size.

A third M&S shopper chimes in: “Very good school jumper – my son prefers the knitted fabric to sweatshirt material because it is easier to get on and off. He 11 yrs old about 5ft and of a stocky build – I buy him a size 13-14 for a perfect fit around the middle.”

One buyer expressed their unfavorable impressions, saying, “True to size but thin and will need to but another for the winter.”

However, as more 5-star ratings are released, the overall response is positive. This customer claims to have “ideal school jumpers,” which are soft to wear under a school blazer, and of good quality.

Another raves, “I bought these jumpers for my granddaughter. She claims that she is completely comfortable with her school blazer because she loves them. They are excellent value for money and have been well washed. Excellent service as always.

Hollyoaks star first to be killed off soap has very different job 30 years after tragic exit

Shebah Ronay was the first Hollyoaks poster girl, but her role on the Channel 4 soap tragically ended with Natasha Andersen.

Former Hollyoaks star Shebah Ronay, who portrayed the legendary Natasha Andersen, has embarked on a striking career transformation three decades after the soap launched.

Natasha served as Hollyoaks’ original pin-up – alluring, spirited and tragically, the first main character to meet her demise in a shocking death plot.

Her devastating end unfolded in March 1996 when she suffered a fatal overdose after her beverage was laced with ecstasy during a house party. She later collapsed and died in hospital leaving fans of the Channel 4 soap in shock.

Shebah, now 53, first appeared on television as Natasha on October 23, 1995, the day the television program first aired. However, her character’s passing was made public in January 1996.

The sequence was branded a “sensational scene in an attempt to boost ratings” at the time, crafted to elevate viewing figures and provide a sharp departure from the “softer stories about teen romances and spots”, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Producers created a compelling narrative centered on Natasha’s drug-induced death during the first year of Hollyoaks, which faced criticism for its lack of socially conscious plot points.

This plot attracted significant media attention and marked a turning point for the program as it began to address contentious issues.

Looking back on Natasha’s departure, series creator Phil Redmond commented: “Natasha’s death depicts the stark reality of unnecessary death coming very close to one group of friendly and fun-loving people for the first time in their lives and how this is bound to change their outlook in many ways”, reports the Mirror.

Shebah left the acting world after she left the show. Before turning her attention to modeling, presenting, and journalism, she made a short film called The Things We Do For Love.

Before moving on to the glamorous Wedding Day magazine, the soap star worked for the weekly newspaper News of the World for a while as a film columnist.
