Danny Jones felt compelled to break his social media silence on Wednesday, according to those close to him.

The McFly singer has stayed quiet following the huge backlash from his kiss with Maura Higgins at the BRIT Awards last month. The I’m A Celebrity campmates were filmed locking lips in a video captured at the Universal Music BRITS afterparty.

But he took to Instagram today to share his first posts since the controversial incident to thank fans for their support. It came as the musician received an influx of messages to wish him a happy 39th birthday.

Despite blanking any mention of his family life or the situation he is in, a source close to him has told the Mirror: “It’s been a really tough time for Danny and his family so he has kept his head down and tried to work things through.

” He is so thankful for the love of his fans during all of this time, and wanted to acknowledge then after they sent him birthday messages. He is hopeful that him and Georgia can now work through their problems and look forward to healing together in private. They are very much together still. “

Among those sending touching messages were his bandmate Tom Fletcher. Danny shared Tom’s birthday post to his Instagram Stories. Alongside a black-and-white image of them performing, Tom wrote:” Happy birthday, mush. Looking forward to standing on stage with you soon. @dannyjonesofficial “

He also received posts from several of his I’m A Celebrity campmates, including Alan Halsall who shared a snap of the duo fist bumping. Coleen Rooney was also on hand to tell him to have a” great day”.

Danny and his wife Georgia Horsley were spotted out together on Tuesday as they tried to put on a public show of togetherness. The TV star and Georgia, a former Miss England, married in 2014 after meeting in 2009 at a Miss London event.

A source from Danny’s camp explained to the Mirror he has concerns that his long career could be coming to an end. They said:” Earlier today, Georgia broke her silence by posting a picture of Cooper, their son. But I don’t think we can get too excited. We need to remember that in the past 2 weeks, 2 videos have emerged online of Danny and Maura spending the night of the BRITs together.

“Georgia is likely trying to resume some normality because she has other engagements that she has to fulfil”. They added: “It’s time for Danny to explain to his fans and audience what has happened and to own his mistakes”.

Following the release of the second video of Danny and Maura, the Irish star broke her social media silence and revealed she had fled the country for a job in Los Angeles.

Sting made his first public appearance on Tuesday, attending The Wayuu Taya Foundation’s Spring Gala with his wife, Trudie Styler, after he had to cancel several concerts because of health issues.

The 73-year-old had to delay multiple performances in January, later revealing on Instagram that the cause was a short-term throat infection. The couple, married for 33 years, arrived at the charity event together, with Sting and Trudie walking side by side. Trudie, 71, looked effortlessly stylish in a white midi dress and black boots as they entered the venue.

The Wayuu Taya Foundation works to support indigenous communities, primarily in Latin America, by providing vital aid such as water, food, medicine, and education. He shared: ‘ Thanks so much for all of the well wishes. I am steadily improving from a temporary throat infection which has prevented me from singing, though I’m looking forward to resuming my performances and rescheduled shows soon. Love, Sting. ‘

Sting, whose real name is Gordon Sumner, became well-known in the 1970s as the lead singer and bassist of the rock band The Police. After the band split in 1984, he went on to have a successful solo career, releasing popular songs like Fields of Gold and Shape of My Heart. Over the years, Sting has won numerous awards, including Grammys, and is also known for his work as a philanthropist, supporting various charitable causes. Due to illness earlier this year, he postponed shows in Phoenix, Arizona, and Wheatland, California, as well as a performance at a record label’s concert, which had all been scheduled for this month. A post to his social media said: “On advisement from his doctor, due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday and postpone his STING 3.0 concerts in Phoenix, AZ (originally scheduled for January 24) to June 1 and Wheatland, CA (originally scheduled for January 26) to May 28 as well as his performance at the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th anniversary, now taking place May 29”.

“Fans should retain their tickets for the postponed shows, as they will be honoured on the new dates. Sting sincerely apologises for any inconvenience and extends his gratitude to the fans for their understanding”. The news came as shock to fans of the singer who is known for his fitness regime. The musician also follows a macrobiotic diet, which consists of many vegetables and grains and avoiding toxins and processed food that contains preservatives. The diet also centres around low consumption of meat, dairy and sugar.

Hollywood actor Bill Murray, 74, has now spoken about the rumours suggesting he had been dating singer Kelis Rogers, 45.

The BBC have made a huge announcement following the surprise exit of one of its radio presenters.

Mishal Husain unexpectedly left BBC 4 in December. Mishal was on of the Today programme’s main presenters but concluded her 26-year career with the organisation before the turn of the year.

Now, it’s been revealed she is being replaced by former Middle East correspondent Anna Foster. The former BBC Radio 5 Live and Radio 1’s Newsbeat presenter is stepping in to present a number of editions of the show from Salford. It marks the BBC’s efforts to represent more areas of the UK beyond London.

Anna said in a statement following the announcement: “There are few more exciting opportunities for a journalist than presenting Today, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team. I’ve always loved making important, agenda-setting, engaging radio, and there’s nowhere better to do that. It’s such a beloved programme to so many people, and I can’t wait to be a part of it”.

The BBC also said that Foster’s role in covering foreign news wouldn’t stop, with the company saying viewers will still see her on TV coverage of major stories. Speaking following the announcement, the station’s controller Mohit Bakaya said: “She brings important international reporting experience at a time when it is needed so urgently by listeners to Radio 4”.

Anna has been one of a number of people to have taking on a co-host role on Today in the weeks since Mishal’s exit. Simon Jack and Jonny Dymond have also stepped in, but it’s reported BBC wanted a female host to be Mishal’s replacement in order to maintain gender balance on the show. Currently, the show’s other presenters include Emma Barnett, Justin Webb, Amol Rajan and Nick Robinson.

Mishal had joined the Today programme in 2013. However, she left her role to take on a new position at Bloomberg. Joining her co-presenters Nick Robinson and Justin Webb, as well as former Today hosts Sarah Montague and John Humphrys, the journalist took to the airwaves for one last time for the BBC in December. In her segment, she shared a few sentimental remarks about her time with the news outlet. She then closed with a heartfelt song that she felt best captured her emotions on her final day.

“The moment is now upon me, time to say farewell to this programme and to the BBC”, she told listeners on her final show. “In my time here, I have found more in me than I knew was there, and I journey on to discover what might lie within me. In the tradition of my faith, when people used to go on pilgrimage in generations past, they would not only take their leave of friends and associates, but they would ask for their forgiveness because, in those days, many did not return from the arduous journey”.
